that word was created by the foreign muslim invaders. The mughals definitely used it but im not sure if the delhi sultanates used.

I think the word Hindu as in the religion came from the word hindustan. at one point hindu was used for all indians regardless of religion but later it was used for non muslim indians, then when the british came it was used for tor the practitioners of the "hindu" faith as we know it today.  During the time of the mughals i dont think Hindus considered dalits or lower castes as hindus, Among hindus only the higher castes were hindus and the rest were dalits  but for the mughals all kafirs were hindus lol

its the flexibility of the word "hindu" that hindus take advantage of and include sikhs when it suits them

The word Hindustan has been an issue since 1947. By the way, the word Hindustan does come up in Gurbani

Sikhs today don't  have not a single leader who is respected by all sections. This vacuum doesn't look it is going to filled up soon too. What are your thoughts on this issue?

WE NEED JATHEDARS LIKE AKALI BABA PHOOLA SINGH JI who even had that much bravery to whip Raja Ranjit Singh’s back for marrying a Muslim. Not like Gurbachan Singh who forgave Ram Rajeem

Ok well you're accusing Baba Thakur Singh of lying then. Great. if you have the heart watch this video:

    and this:

and this where Ram Singh is grovelling for claiming to be the next mukhi:

Are you really a nihang? Nihangs don't spread false rumours, tell lies, or destroy other people's livelihoods as far as I know. Or have I  been given wrong info about what Nihangs are really like?

If Nihangs are brothers of the Taksal why are one set of brothers causing deliberate damage to the other set of brothers repeatedly?

    I'm pretty sure you wouldn't.

Thank you for giving me knowledge on what Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji actually said about Ram Singh. The letter that I read must have been the one before this as stated in the first video. Bhul chuk maf karna ??

I'm only saying what I have herd ji. I'm not sure about if the person is telling the truth or not. I didn't like what happened because now days Sikhs are ready to kill their own brothers and sisters

Waheguru Jee Kaa Khalsa Waheguru Jee Kee Fateh.

I have received a potential arranged marriage rishta from India. The guy is currently living in New Zealand. We have been talking through whatsapp through the blessings of a Saint. My only issue is that he hasn't seen me in person yet so he doesn't know how much facial hairs I have. I've taken amrit so although I fell off rehat, the Gurus have blessed me to come back to the full sikhi saroop, which means I've been keeping those chin hairs. It's taking time for me to become fully secured within myself and embracing those hairs as part of my new normal. As a woman, I'm a bit insecure about how this guy is going to see me when we finally meet in person. He already said yes, but I always gave him vague answers regarding my decisions. I told him about the facial hairs, but I didn't get into the length of it especially about the chin hairs because my mom told me not to talk about those things. So, yesterday, I decided to show him my blog in which I wrote a post titled "Hair: a small surrender." Obviously, the blog is so long and filled with other posts, so I don't think he has read that particular post yet. Anyway, my dilemma is: how do I approach this topic without making it seem as if it's a big deal?  How do I clear my insecurity regarding this? Plus, another thing is that he hasn't taken amrit yet. If he took amrit, then I wouldn't have worried about it. A saint told me that the guy is  a bhagat and a gursikh. Even though he hasn't taken amrit, the sant kind of implied that he is similar to an amritdhari person. In that case, I feel as if he is going to take amrit in the future. As many amritdharis would know, nobody can rush these kinds of things. Nobody can rush anybody into taking amrit. So, I'm very patient and careful about what I say regarding these matters.

Also, on another note, personally, I wouldn't have talked to any guy from another country, but the Sant's own beautiful voice was enough to convince me to talk to the Nz guy. Hence, I started talking to him. Now I'm in this position. What can I do? I've been delaying the process on my end, while he is all set to marry. So, I'm now here requesting for the Gurmukhs' opinions regarding all this. I really want Waheguru to clear all my doubts and insecurity before I give my final answer.

Don't marry anyone who you think will make you drop in Sikhi

Use your words confused bootha. What part do you find confusing or objectionable?

Edit: For that matter, anyone confused or worried, please voice those concerns. Then nobody has to be the confused bootha and I can have the benefit of your input.

We'd all learn more from communication.

Is it the choice of Hazoori over Nihang in my current thinking?

    The consideration of either?

The fact it's me and you're just not a fan?

I considered Taksal as well but due to several considerations, when I take Amrit it will be within a Maryada that I will adhere to fully.

I intend to work hard to be worthy of Amrit and take it when my enlistment is up, but I could be called back to service and find myself in a situation where I have to eat meat based on supply chain.

Can't be a Sikh in the USAF I found out, if called back into service I would refuse to cut Kesh regardless of consequence but you have to eat..sooo...

Take Amrit where ever you like

He was a nobody then , and he has sullied the name of the taksal since coming back to India from Canada by being a puppet of the government, having ties with panth dokhis of all levels. Latest attack on tarna dal nihangs illustrate why he should not be trusted .

    True

anyway its common knowledge hes a joke, a fake n a fraud. he was exposed a very long time ago.

but like u say, only a cheerleader wud say or believe otherwise.

Kinda like if someone came to your house and went into your ktichen and starting throwing all the food from your cupboards and fridge onto the floor. You wouldn't allow this would you? I certainly wouldn't.

I mean I would let them lol.

You have a habit of not engaging your brain when talking don't you? If you feel that taksal students were wrong then either :

I'm a Nihang. I still don't like that they did that. I don't care about the reason but a fellow Nihang Singh could of Died. This is why our Panth isn't progressing as fast as we should. Brothers are fighting their own brothers rather than the enemy

Yes Baba Harnam Singh is Jathedar of a faction of Damdami Taksal.

The Taksal students attacked the Nihangs because the Nihangs had let tens of their cows in the fields belonging to the Taksal and they cows had destroyed their crops, which are there for the maintenance of the students of Taksal.

Kinda like if someone came to your house and went into your ktichen and starting throwing all the food from your cupboards and fridge onto the floor. You wouldn't allow this would you? I certainly wouldn't.

    So stop complaining.

Bolded is correct. Baba Thakur Singh was asked to choose next mukhi but Baba Ji always maintained that he is only a caretaker in the absence of Sant Jarnail Singh and that Sant Jarnail Singh would return to claim his place.

However to say that Baba Harnam Singh is self-appointed is an outright lie. The students from amongst the Taksal including Bhai Amrik Singh chose Baba Harnam Singh to be mukhi.

Your username is "Raj kaarega khalsa" but khalsa raaj won't come around through lies brother.

In the one sentence you say "Daas doesn't know much about Damdami Taksal" and then further on you say "Therefore Harnaam Singh Dhumma is not Jathedar and I think he is just self appointed." .....

    Correct.

You have a habit of not engaging your brain when talking don't you? If you feel that taksal students were wrong then either :

Provide their food for them so they don't need to maintain fields for their meals

    or

Buy a field for the Nihangs so they can feed the cows in their Gau-shala.

    Seriously.

No ji. Baba Thakur Singh Ji stated in their letter that the property is going to Bhai Ram Singh Ji and that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindrawale will still be Jathedar after them
