This fascination with Nihangs is just a UK thing. No one in Punjab gives two hoots about which Dal so and so belongs to. Nihangs have a very poor record of doing anything in the interests of the panth. Last thing they ever did that was panthic was in the late sixties when a few Nihangs were killed by the police when taking over Paonta Sahib Gurdwara. I'm in Punjab at the moment and people look down on Nihangs so much. Most are just losers who put on Nihang bana to try and get way from paying the bus fare! All those losers in the UK who go around claiming to Nihangs and add Akali so and so to their names are just the same type of people only difference being that london buses don't allow losers in whatever dress to get away from paying the fare.

No offence to anyone here but why do Sikhs jump at the chance to help out in an out of the way place like Darfur but shy away and make excuses when someone suggests we help the orphans of 1984 and the families of shaheed singhs and singhnis!

Apparently there was a poll recently on Sky asking whether the BNP has a role in British politics, about 70% voted yes out of 110,000 votes. If there is a rise of fascism it is solely Blairs and the other gutless parties fault.

If this was a decent job I'd hate to see the results of Labour doing a bad job of 7/7! Labour brought it on themselves , they were warned by other countries that UK was being soft on Muslim terrorists and they didn't listen so they got 52 dead bodies as proof of their idiotic policies. Hatred has already been created and it is coming mainly from the Muslim side. Did the Muslims used to face more racism than Sikhs, Hindus or others? No they did not but then they started to bring get too big for their boots with the Rushdie affair. Now they get most of the racism and then they start crying about it. So what would your advice be on Iraq, pull out the troops and watch from the sidelines as the Shias, Sunni and Kurds start to kill each other? Funny how everytime the US or UK does anything positive they get slammed but then the same people start shouting for intervention in Darfur and other places.

The problem with the main parties is that they have no backbone when it comes to handling extremist Muslims. Look at Labour, 52 innocent people get blown up and Blair starts sprouting his 'Islam is peace' BS. He sets up committees and focus groups packed with Muslims who come up with all sorts of ways that Muslims can get more and more influence in the UK. The ordinary people of the UK aren't stupid. they can see through the hype. The Tories and Lib Dems are no better so the only party that people fed up with the main parties can vote for is extremists like BNP. There is no other alternative. I'm not bothered about Iraq, if they Iraqis want to be free then all they need do is vote in large numbers for the people that they want to rule them. Blowing up soldiers who went to free them isn't the best way to ensure that your country becomes a modern democracy.

Mohammed suffered from all the five vices that Gurbani instructs us to conquer. Kaam - lusting after women even as young as 6 years old as in the case of Aisha, changing the Arab notion of adoption by getting 'revelations' from Allah telling him it's ok to marry his adopted son's wife, accepting concubines from other rulers. Murdering the husbands of women and then taking them as his concubines sometimes on the same day Krodh - Instructing his followers to murder poets who were making fun of him and his 'prophethood' Lobh - Getting a share of the booty from his followers raids on peaceful caravans. Greed for the oasis of the Jews and making war on them to get his hands of their lands. Moh - Worldly love and attachment, having favourites amongst his wives and cheating some of his wives out of their allocated days in favour of other wives. Then coming up with 'revelations' from Allah saying that he is allowed to make the changes and threatening through Allah that he would divorce all of them who objected. Ahankar - promoting himself as a 'prophet' initiallly amongst the Jews and when they saw through his game making himself a 'prophet' of the Arabs and attacking the Jews. Promoting himself through 'relevations' of Allah stating that he is the best of men and final prophet.

So where would you draw the line? Would you let campers bring in cigarattes and alcohol since you say that they can bring their own influences and then Guru will influence them? I don't want to get into a discussion about which camp is best but PERSONALLY I would not recommend any of my friends to attend the camp highlighted here. I wrote personally in capitals because some of the supporters of this camp are very aggressive when it comes to defending their lifestyle and the way the camp is run. The thing is for people to look into each camp and discuss with campers who attended in previous years to know which camp they want to attend.

From what I could understand of the speech, Prabsharandeep Singh said nothing wrong to justify being called to Akal Takht. He said that all the panth should support the jathedars action against Kala Afghana and Spokesman but he also wanted Akal Takht to do something against other offenders such as Badal. I for one am glad that Singhs from outside India are taking the initiative against some of the flagrant violations of hukumnamas by the very people who gave them! It doesn't make for a good scene and many people will criticise and say that such actions are embarrassing for the jathedar but can you imagine now after the verbal lashing he was given in USA , wouldn't vedanti think twice before giving such clean bill of health to dera sadhs like chicago wala? Watch yourself Fauji, Namstang is going to snitch on you. That is the funniest thing I have ever read. Namstang maybe at the same time you could shout some of those obscene words you like to use in your posts and then see the amazing seva the sangat does for you. Can't some Sikhs just go to the Nagar Kirtan and just to listen to the kirtan and take part in the unity it creates? Or do they just want to snitch on what someone has written on a forum. I think you misread the posting. Basically put Mohammed and his followers were raiding some villages of the Arabs who refused to accept Mohammed as a Prophet (ie become Muslims). He and his followers managed to capture some good looking women of the enemy. They would have included married women, unmarried women as well as widows. His men who could not control their lust wanted to rape the captured women but being greedy also did not want to lose out on money they would get from ransoming them if they became pregnant because of the rape. So they wanted to perform Azl or withdrawing their private member from the women at the point of their release of semen so as not to make them pregnant. So they asked Mohammed ( referred to as the mercy to mankind and perfect example and epitome of a perfect human being!). He said its ok to rape and it doesn't matter whether you do withdrawal or not because the pregnancy will happen if its meant to happen. Doesn't Guru Gobind Singh also say that Mohammed was egotistical and went against Waheguru and created a sect which worshipped him instead of Waheguru? The above Hadith is the perfect way to counter any of these Muslims who are hassling you and coming up with 'Guru Nanak was not a prophet.. we believe Mohammed is the final prophet' .. well tell me this Abdul would a Prophet of God not stop his followers from committing rape? There are tons of things that we can quote about Mohammed from Muslim sources which show that he was not a very nice guy let alone a Prophet or mercy to mankind. It is only our own sense of not wanting to hurt Muslim feeling that stop us and meanwhile they are free to post their lies about Sikhi.
