  1. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Sangat ji, threre's a new short film available for downloading at this link. http://harjas.waheguroo.com/downloads/naam/ It's probably a better idea to download the size you want rather than stream (due to very high bitrates). Right click on the link -> "Save target as" on to your hard drive. You will need Windows Media Player 9 and/or Quicktime. Links for these players are available on the webpage. bhul chuk maaph karna... vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!

  3. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! for the initial question, there is a "guidebook" being created by sevadars of Guru Nanak Academy / Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Gatka Akhara Surrey, which includes step by step instructions from Bhai Charnjit Singh ji himself. I don't want to give out any false information, but I know that this guidebook will be available in the, hopefully near, future. This project was started afew months ago, and was unfortunatly delayed because of recent events. However, the sevadars are working to complete this seva. As for the what the difference between Shastar Vidhya, it's been answered very well by khalsapreet. Charnjit Singh ji told us that the term "gatka" is used more often than "shastar vidhya" because it's just become more popular with people, and less people know what you mean by shastar vidhya. Gatka is essentially the fighting stick. bhul chuk maaph karnee vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!

  7. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh I'm really glad that these documentaries are being made. I feel that films are a great medium to do Sikhi parchar and raise awareness on all of these issues. I remember hearing a speaker say that "The 84 attack happend almost 20 years ago, and we still haven't been able to tell our story to the world." People don't understand the struggle that Sikhs had to go through, because it hasn't been properly shown to the world yet. Bollywood is obviously not going to cut it, as all of us know. They aren't going to expose the doings of the India government in any way that would make look India look bad. The fact that these documentaries will show real footage of events and stories from people who experienced them, and will be presented from people who understand what Sikhs had to go through, and are still going through, will be such a help for our Panth. So many people watch movies, documentaries etc on tv. It's the perfect medium to show people the history, struggles and qualities of Sikhs. I hope these filmmakers are able to get enough support from our community to make sure these films are made and broadcasted or televised. bhul chuk maaph karnee waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
  8. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh hanji. the film wuz first shot and edited. and then used a technique called "rotoscoping" to trace the frames. (in this case Flash MX was used) however the initial edit won't be available to view. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
  9. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh I'd like to perhaps clarify something that I feel may have been mis-spoken. Guru Sahib's methods and actions did not in any sense "not work." The idea behind Guru Arjan Dev Ji's Shaheedi was that he was willing to accept the Guru's Hukam. Guru Sahib did not try a to persuade the emperor into not killing him by using Humility. Same goes for Guru Tegh Bahadhur. Guru Tegh Bahadhur himself was an extremely talented swordsman. And as mentioned before, Guru Nanak even had shastars. The idea is that the Guru Sahibs accepted what was the Hukam. They're actions were not results of failure to stay alive. They were actions to give Sikhs Josh, Beer Ras, Pyaar, and ultimately to remind themselves to help those who are oppressed, in whichever way possible. The question as to why Sikhs took arms, I think, has already been answered by this Sangath. Sikhi could not prevail if Sikhs all Sikhs were killed. If we didn't take on arms, how would we do Simran and recite Gurbani? If Guru Sahib didn't ble ss us with our soldier quality, how would have our Sikhi been existent today? I don't think Hinduism would have remained if it wasn't for Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. I think the point is that, there are oppressors who will only be stopped by death. The reason for Sikhs to take arms was to defend the peace of Sikhs, and the rest of the world, "Sarbath dha Bhala." You can't be a Sikh without being both a Saint, and a Soldier. Neither comes before the other. A soldier that is a saint wouldn't kill for the wrong reason, only to defend another. A saint without being a soldier couldn't defend another person, so how could they be called a Sikh? I hope I didn't offend anyone. Bhul Chuk maaf karna. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh
