  1. Whose your favorite Sikh hero's and heroines in history, that you admire, get inspired and look up too. Not counting the Guru ji's cos they are admired universally. I been reading sikh history recently and I would say mine are: Baba deep singh Bandha bahadhur Sant jarnail singh bhindranwale Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Hari Singh Nawla Sirhand, the principle town of the south-east Punjab was the goal. To Bandha as to all Sikhs, it represented the bestiality of its governor Wazir Khan, who had bricked up Guru Gobind Singh Jis youngest sons before putting them to death by beheading. It was clear to every Sikh that the time had come for Wazir Khan to get his just dues. Writes James Bowne of the India Tract, “ Of all the instances of cruelty exercised by the Moghals this is the most barbarous and outrageous. Defenceless women and children have usually escaped, even from religious fury. No wonder then that the vengeance of the Sikhs was so severe. " Though the Sikhs were fewer in numbers and arms and the well equipped Mughal force with its muskets, heavy guns, mail armour, cavalrymen and war elephants was more superior, Bandhas force excelled in swordsmanship and hand to hand combat, backed by archers and spearmen. What fuelled them was the impeccable sense of purpose, which their foe lacked. Wazir Khans army is estimated to be in the region of 20,000, while no records exist of the Sikh force it is generally regarded to be much fewer in number. The two forces clashed on the plain of Chappar Chiri, ten miles from Sirhand, on 22nd May 1710. Not unexpectedly the ferocity of the fighting outstripped all previous encounters between Sikh and Mughal forces. Wazir Khan and several of his commanders were killed and according to Khafi Khan, a chronicler of the time ‘not a man of the army of Islam escaped with more then his life and the clothes he stood in. Horsemen and footmen all fell under the sword of the infidels (Sikhs) who perused them as far as Sirhand.’ The defences of Sirhand were breached two days later. Although Sirhand paid a heavy price, it was spared total destruction after its Hindu population appealed to Bandha Singh. Its reprieve was short lived, as a little over 50 years later Jassa Singh Ahluwalia would be less forgiving of the towns past misdeeds. :|
  2. Children playing on top of a derelict tank in Old Kabul. The destroyed building in background was once a shared temple (known as Dharamsal) of hundreds of Sikhs and Hindus in the area. In these neighborhoods many Sikh and Hindu families of Afghanistan lived side by side with their Muslim neighbors for years. But immediately upon the entrance of the traitorous jehadi fighters into Kabul in 1992, crimes were wrought upon these fellow citizens of our country; large numbers of haves and have-nots were killed or forced to emigrate to Pakistan and from there to India. According to reports from RAWA members in Kabul, during the dark years of the civil war the leaders of the Northern Alliance forcefully circumcised many Hindu men and raped many Hindu women. Islam is the predominant religion in Afghanistan, and, as in most of the world, Sunni Muslims comprise the majority and Shi'ite Muslims the minority. Sunni Muslims are associated with the Sunna, the tradition of the sayings and deeds of Muhammad revered by most Muslims as supplementary to the Qur'an. Sunnis believe anyone pious and devout can be a caliph (a successor to Muhammad as head of Islam), whereas Shi'ites think the caliphate can only be held by descendants of Muhammad through his daughter Fatima. Shi'ites also believe Imams (descendants of Muhammad) can expand on the Qur'an and change laws and doctrines. Mehmooda (is a member of RAWA's cultural committee) says that, besides Muslims, there were "some Hindu and Sikh minority till 1992, but when fundamentalists took power, they expelled and killed all Hindu and Sikh minority from Afghanistan. But we are so keen to have them again in the country. They also expelled and persecuted a small Jewish minority, but we are so interested to ask them to come back and live in their Afghanistan if they desire to do so." Rediff.com, Feb. 15, 2003 "It is not just the Bamiyan Buddhas which faced the wrath of Taliban. They also completely destroyed nearly 70 historical Sikh gurdwaras in Afghanistan. 'It all started after the demolition of Babri Masjid . . . the Taliban were angry and took out their anger at Hindu and Sikh religious structures. The factional fighting further destroyed whatever was left of them,' Khajinder Singh Khurana, an Afghan refugee who has put up a photo exhibition of the destroyed gurdwaras in New Delhi, said." --- "But around 30 Hindu temples, which were on outskirts of Kabul and other cities were saved, Khurana said. 'The Taliban took away everything . . . marbles, carpets, antiques, anything they could find,' Khurana said. The pictures show the ruins and clearly outline the destruction caused due by the Taliban. The present government in Afghanistan has promised to rebuild the structures but no move has been made so far in this regard. 'We have also approached the Indian government to send a delegation there to study the state of our religious structures,' says Khurana, who was working in the United States embassy in Kabul before the Taliban rule." --- Afghanistan refugee returns: 'Out of sight, out of mind' Amnesty International has today (23 June 2003) singled out the UK, alongside Afghanistan's immediate neighbours, for criticism for its policy of returning refugees to Afghanistan. The organisation said that the security situation in Afghanistan had deteriorated in 2003, with at least two thirds of the country now in a situation of "generalised instability." There have been armed attacks on the security forces in Kabul, local commanders continue to fight turf wars, civilians are often killed, women and girls are forced to marry and property is destroyed. In its report Afghanistan: Out of sight, out of mind: The fate of the Afghan returnees, Amnesty International highlights its concerns that, under current conditions, the return of many refugees and internally displaced persons is unsustainable and is leading to destitution. Amnesty International UK Media Director Lesley Warner said: "We urge non-neighbouring states hosting Afghan refugees, especially industrialised states such as European Union countries and Australia, to be aware that the forced return of refugees or rejected asylum seekers from their territory sends out the misleading message that return to Afghanistan should be promoted. It is likely to set a dangerous precedent to developing states which host far larger numbers of Afghans." Amnesty International interviewed more than 100 refugees who had been returned to Afghanistan. Three Sikh asylum seekers, who had been forcibly returned from the UK, were forced to seek shelter in a Sikh temple in Kabul. They reported being abused in a market place in Kabul and said they felt vulnerable as potential targets for persecution in a city where the majority of the Afghan Sikh community has not returned. 3. Bro'z remember fire vs fire. The language Islamic fundamentalists understand and respect. You show signs of weakness with Islamics and they'll take you for granted and walk all over you. You can have as many awareness campaigns in gurdwaras as you like but if you dont hit back at the fundentalist islamics with the same tactics they employ then sorry to say but you are fools with hopeless aims. Hasnt Sikh history taught as anything? Only when Sikhs went on the offensive did Islamic moghul tryanny begin to get uprooted. The do gooder liberal "secular" Sikhs got in the way of expansion of Sikh rule otherwise God only knows how far Sikh rule would have stretched too, perhaps even to the borders of arabia it self and we wouldnt have these problems with muslim fundamentalists preying on our brothers and sisters today. But I hope these awareness campaigns are just the start. They need to expand to reach out to the youth who do not attend gurdwara so they know from early age whats going down .
  4. No I wasnt actually if you had bothered to read the thread you would have understood we talking about conversion tactics, and the nonsense of Islam and Hindu thought. WELL SAID :|
  5. @ forgive me but are you on crack or sutin? read my post again whose killed who? :|
  6. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh i know a muslim gal who recites gurbaani everyday without fail ...and may b if sangat blesses she may soon b amritdhaari....happen to know her from my college waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh Thats cool hope she does too. :| My GF who is muslim or should i say was, is keen on learning more and more about Sikhism. I dont like to bash other faiths especially since my gf comes from muslim background but I feel its got to be done cos only through fire vs fire does Islamic brainwashing be removed. So if a muslim ridicules Sikhism then you have every right to ridicule Islam and show it up for what it is. They are not so smudge about wanting you to convert then. Some Sikhs are jus wimps they all poltiical correcnt n <banned word filter activated> and dont have the balls to call a spade a spade but rather bash their own community.
  7. true but it makes a change to look at the obsurdatites of Islam and Hinduism who target our people and faith in various points of history. Hinduism I can chill with but with Islam they always shoving it in our faces with what they view as negative aspects of other religions therefore I think having a pop at Islam is fair game. But your right maybe this aint the place for it. I have made a site where people can discuss stuff like this openly. If they wish to join they can pm me.
  8. whose jessica? "*ADMIN NOTE: Veerjee, If you edit Mod's Comments in future, we will put your id/ip under Ban settings." Hey bro, why did my original post get editted and taken off? and I did not see mod's comments either so how could I have editted them unless I did it by mistake, if so please post the mod's comments again. I want to know why what wrong with my post.
  9. The ordinary pakistani muslim in pakistan probably doesnt care about converting Sikhs since muslims are 97% of the countrys population they do not need to worry abt small number of minorities here or there. In India and Punjab you mite have a problem becuse the hindu brahmin society is bent on having a control on our religious institutions. But they know that modern world does not care much for caste any more, they have lost most of their powers and control but still have influence in governmental affairs and thats all they have. In uk we have a large population of muslims from all over the world and we have a very large number of Sikhs but smaller in number compare to theirs. As most refugee's and asylum seekers who enter united kingdom are muslims from different nationalities. The only group of Muslims that give us trouble are bengalis, pakistanis and somalians who are basically the scum of islamic community. Even the arabs, turks and persians hate these lot since they luv to stir hatered and violence against non-muslims which gives all muslims a bad name.

  11. I think we shud stop with showing hinduism up and start to target Islam more cos hindus are not a threat in terms of religion, they do not try to convert us to their faith. Muslims on the other hand are openly challenging us and other non-muslims. And I as a Sikh love a good challenge! Lets see what idotic stuff Islam has to say. I'm making a new thread where we can discuss this. :|
  12. As long as Sikh gangs look out for Sikhs as a defence and retaliation force then its all good. But when or if they get involved in drugs, serious organised crime targettin innocents and that then thats when they become anti-sikhs.
  13. Check out the profiles of Sikhs gals on shaadi.com and hi5.com and you can see the reason why they are so messed in the head. 2 words some up how they get corrupt and targetted by islamic nuts: LIBERAL VALUES! Parents try to do their best for their kids in western society trying to be modern and liberal giving their girls equality and yet some punjabi sikh girls throw it all back in their face by their disgracful lack of respect and then to top it off go off with a muslim guy who wants to undermine your faith and wish to create all the world's people to follow a barbaric faith which undermines womens rights and treats them no better than cattle and baby making machines. The girls that need to be targetted for this awareness campaign do not attend gurdwara's because they dont see themselves as religious but will call themself Sikh to have some kind of identity. The awareness campaign needs to be started in colleges and uni's drawing in girls of Sikh background who have been raised in liberal environmemt to learn about their faith, history and tactics of islamics.
  14. Nice layout of their forum but dam wot u sikhz doin on that site It's pointless If i were u lot i wouldnt bother they wont change their minds on islamic forum they will try to save face by making up stuff. They willl neva admit defeat on there even if you win arguments. I'll show you guys how its done  Just let me finish my website.
  15. sikh supreme hmmm you thinkin on my wavelength bro. You got any info I can give to her? like comparative statements of quran and sggs ji or something like that? Hold up betta still I can make a website then will get more viewings. Im gonna use the tactics they use. Its time for a revolution
  16. What you suggesting that we cover them in a veil and beat them. No thanks many of the sisters on here wouldnt agree to that, women in Sikhism are more than just baby making machines and objects of lust. Sikh girls should be educated about how the brave Khalsa women faught moghul soldiers and how they made great sacrifices for their faith. Have you ever heard of a muslim woman who had picked up a sword and fought for her faith??? Well said Akhoza. Killahz if you get married would you subject your wife to the fear and domination you mentioned?Or would you like that to happen to your own sister/cousin etc? The girls from sikh families who stray away are those who do not have the correct knowledge about sikhi. For example, a girl who was put on the spot regarding her faith by let's say a muslim, due to her own lack of understanding, the muslim is then able to misconstrue our Guru Ji for his benefit and twist the mind of a young individual fairly easily. I have come accross a girl where this has happened, I demanded to meet the Muslim in question and challenged his view. The guy just turned out to some <banned word filter activated> who did not know much about his own faith and I quickly dismissed what he was saying. That is one way to counter-act such situations, providing you yourself have the right knowledge. There is no jadu, black magic or potions involed, these things dont exist. Nah course i wouldnt subject them to that dont be silly I aint muslim aite  but y is it that muslim girls encourage their guys to be religious n take pride if they become religious whereas I yet to meet even 1 sikh girl who encourages me to keep my hair or give up things I shouldnt for sake of religion. It just doesnt happen, I see Sikh guys in turban's always encouraging and reasoning with apni's who've gone astray to fix up
  17. I feel for u man, I seen that happens few times. And yes girls are more image conscience than more guys they always goin on abt their weight, beauty and fashion bla bla bla give me a decent gal who is true to her faith, virgin, with average looks over a self obessed, good looking <admin-profanity filter activated> with no values anyday.
  18. What you suggesting that we cover them in a veil and beat them. No thanks many of the sisters here wouldnt agree to that, women in Sikhism are more than just baby making machines and objects of lust. yeah i guess seems to work for Islam jokes nah but seriously i fink if you dont have any fear from reaction of rents cos they easy going and you dont have any fear of God, as we tought to love God not fear him , then you basically have not limits. Muslim girls are treated like crap in Islam 2nd class citizens yet it proves that women want domination are submissive in nature to fear. And yeah no offence to the sista'z on the board I wasnt talking about you lot as your religious im talking about apni's who not religious.
  19. LOL...thats the whole reason some "Sikhs" choose to be monnay. Why not? Does hair grow only after one gets old? By the way how old are you? The 2nd highest population of Sikhs in the world after India is in UK. Whats the problem being a Sikh in British society? Thats an excuse. Loads of Singhs in UK have good jobs. Thats a weakness. Plus why go after such girls who judge you by your looks or appearance? The truth is that if you have faith i nyourself, if you have self-confidence, you will look and appear impressive to anyone (male or female). Its just a weakness that makes you feel that being a mona you will be more attractive. So? Just because a few Punjabi girls are misled and uninformed you can't generalize for all Sikh girls. Most don't deserve a guy. It is terribly shameful for a human being to live by the standards of another. Why not live life according to the principles of Gurujee?Anyways...hope your stay at Sikhsangat is a pleasant one  Thanks dude for welcoming on the board basically you make some gud points but still when the day apni girls start to encourage mona's like me to be keep the kesh and become more religious is the day I'll stop what I do but I don't see it. All I see is majoirty of apni's are non-religious and having no restrictions from their families as opposed to most paki gals I meet who been raised from birth to be submissive and keep their men happy. I've chatted to a few muslim female friends I have and when subject of marriage came up, the type of guy they seeing married to, are one's who are religious, have beards, etc. The only way I can explain why most muslim girls want a religious guy while sikh girls dont. Is Islam, which basically conditions them to be subserviant to men cos I been reading a few passages of quran and its about the rights of men over women. Maybe apni's need the fear or domination element that muslim girls seem to have been conditioned to. I dunno but thats my conclusion so far.
  20. Hmmm thats messed up that guy in that news story sounds like a right rapist. Anways goin back to the topic the truth is sikh punjabi girls are too easy these days to get into bed and go out wit just about anyone. Cos if they go bars, drink and stay in uni halls I gurantee they will be up for it. Thats the reason why avoid them and started dating muslim gals. Being a mona sikh its easy for me, End of the day I really dont see the need for hair until im older. And it's hard enough being an asian or brown skinned in British society and being unemployed without added pressures of looking different with turban and flowing dhari and not being attractive to image conscience gals. Plus most asian girls these days only go out with guys who shave, just look at sikh wedding sites.. most want mona/shaved sikh guys. When uk sikh girls fix up and start having some standards then you'll see mona guys start becoming more religious.
