  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Natha and Abdulla were Dhadees in Miri Piri De Patshah Sahib Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji's Darbar. They wrore a beautiful // in praise of Guru Sahib and Sikh history has this // saved. Does somobody have it written down anywhere or can find it in any book? I need the full //. Please ask anybody you know. This is how it goes: Do Talwari(n) Badhian, Ik Miri Di Ik Piri Di. Ik Azmat di, Ik Raj Di, Ik Rakhi Kare Vazir Di. ... Pag Teri, Ki Jahangir Di.
  2. It is so sad folks... one day some non-punjabi indian dude asked me, "sardarji, aap daru pee lete ho?". I said hell no man!. He replied, "fir kaise sardar ho aap... hamare apartment mein ek sardarji rehte hai, main unke ghar har roz sharab peene jata hoon..." These so called "sardars" drink like crazy, but Sikhs have to face the consequences. As cigarettes to South Indians, Liquar to "sardars". I think this is the reason why people started making jokes on sardars when our people did these 'dubb ke maran wale kamm'... ehna ne dob ditta saanu.... :WW: We felt pride when people called us Sardarji in old times, now when people call us sardarji, we have to shove our head in our knees with shame. :homer anparhta ne saadi kaum da bhatha batha ditta.
  3. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is wonderful post.... I love it! Good Job HaRdKaUrWaRrIoRz... Sikh Kaum needs Singhnees like you to save our future generatinos and recreate our history that our ancestors have left for us to be proud of. Every Sikh girl and Sikh father needs to read and understand this post. I have nothing else to say, all we should do now is to bring these values into our lives and live accordingly....
  4. I don't see any survey results on this website. But what is one good that is in muslims have but we lack?
  5. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khasla Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh Bhai Sahib, I asked you several questions, you did not answer even a single of them. Please re-read the post(s) and reply. Please look at our condition today and compare it with Puratan times. You will definitely see the difference and try to think what created this difference. The question here is not if we can see Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in our Surat as Guru Sahib were on this earth in physical boby when we do Naam Simiran or not, but of Parwangee of Langer/Karah Prashad when we do Kirpaan Bhet after Ardas, which is called "Bhog" by some of us. Also, when you get chance, try to read upon Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's last days on this earth in human body and what messages he delivered to Sikhs and see how much we have followed them. It will answer many of our questions today. And also, please try to stay on the topic of this thread.
  6. I was listening to Katha by I.S. Ghaga and he told an incidence that when Mohammed Zinah was giving a speech to a gathering he said somthing like, "about brahmin: eh panjah (50) saal pehla future da plan kar lenda ke ki karna aan. about muslims: jadon koi ehna de sir vich sota marda tan ja ke ehna di akh khuldi aa te ekdam aapna bacha kar lende aa. about sikhs: jadon ehna de sir vich koi sota mar ke 200 meel door chala janda, ehna nu haley pata hi lagda aa ke 'koi sota mar giya lagda...'" I think it was Sirdar Kapoor Singh who was listening to this speech and got tooooooo offended at Zinha that he insulted Sikhs. He tried to talk to Zinha after the speech and I think Zinha said somthing like, "Tusin ehna nu (brahmna nu) Gulaam bane dekheya hai... aje raaj karde nahi dekheya..." When India got independence and Sirdar Kapoor Singh reflected upon Zinha's words they came out to be 110% true.
  7. why did we have to beleive in the equality the promissed? They don't even give equality to their own people, how can we expect it from them? More than half of the 14 wars Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had to fight were against Pahari (Hindu) Rajey. I think we keep making mistskes upon mistakes and never learn.
  8. We had the perfect chance to get our own country in 1947 when British offered it to us in 1947. We lost it due to our own fault. I forgot the name of the "sikh guy" who had a meeting with British and when he returned to India, he told Nehru and Neru told him somethign like, "tera dimaag kharab ho gaya... aapan katthey rehnde aan.. jo kujh tusin lainia, hindustaan vichon lai leo, eh tuhada hi tan hai..." some crap like this.. and this guy believed him and then everybody knows what happend after that... Sikhs had to do Kurbaani again to get even this chiri di chunj jinna, what we now call Punjab. to me, it is not them, it is us. We failed to learn from our mistakes.
  9. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh Veerji, it is Parwan Karo, please read Sikh Rehat Maryada. Our Guru is Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, in which Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Jot resides. How can you feed roti, daal, ras malaee to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji? When Guru Sahib was in human body, that body needed roti, daal, paani, etc. etc. becuase it was a need of the body in which Guru Jot was living during that time. Now that Jot lives in Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Only the body has changed, but the Jot was/is/will be the same forever. Veer Ji, Guru Sahib never attached Sikhs to their bodies, but to the Shabad because Shabad never dies, but bodies do. Neither Guru nor Sikh is a body. When Siddhs' asked Guru Nanak Dev Ji that who's ur Guru, Guru Sahib said, "Shabad Guru, Surat Dhunn Chela..." So Guru Sahib detached both the Guru and the Sikh from bodies. Where did any Guru Sahibaan asked Sikhs to feed their when they leave their physical bodies? Please provide any referrence from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji or anywhere from Sikh History. What is sooooooo hard for us Sikhs today to accept Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as our Guru? Today, we failed to understand true meaning of "Guru Granth Ji Manyo Pragat Gura(n) Ki Deh...". Some of us are taking the literal meaning of this pankti and I'm afraid, some of them will one day take Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji to do ishnaan. Veerji, Guru Sahib never taught Sikhs to live on assumpations. Guru Sahib taught us practical life that's why we have Glorious History. You described hardcore Christian concept above, Jesus will come. Every generation lives on this hope and dies. This has been happening for thousands of years. How do you describe "suchum" according to Gurmat? I'm not looking for Brahmnical interpretation. Can you please describe how? Remember, Langar is prepared for the Sangat not for the Guru because Sri Guru Granth Sabhi Ji do not eat roti-dall-fulka. Veerji, this analogy does not work here. Your father is with you in human body, the body that has its own needs, such as eating, drinking, sleeping, bathing etc. etc. and it is perfectly fine to ask your daddy ji to eat prashada. But lets say, a time comes to your dad that has to come to everybody and nobody can escape from it. Would you still ask your dady Ji to "Bhog Lao", to eat prashaada even when he's not with you in human body? Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji does not have a human body, which cannot eat, drink, or do ishnaan. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's body has its own needs, very different from human body. So assin Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji nu prashada khaan waste nahi kahvange, balke, Parwan karan nu hi kahvange. Remember, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave Gurgaddi to Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, not to the body of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji which did not exist even at that time, te assin hun bhog laun de chakkran vich kyon phass ke reh gaye? Actually bhog laun di pratha originated from Hinduism becase they do this all the time and expect that their deities to eat prashaad when they touch it with moorties' mouths. I always wondered what is the reason of the downfall of Sikhi today and why Sikhs were in Cherdi Kala in puratan kaal.... I think slowly my this question is being answered as well..... sorry if anyone got offeneded. apologies requested from sangat.............. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh
  10. punjab police vich paggan wale sharmein hi tan han... sikhan wali gall thori aa koi, bhavein do do gitth lammi paag kayon na banni hove...
  11. It is interesting to see. They have freedome and are beating punjab police up on the streets. If it were Sikhs, they would have ended up in jail in no time.
  12. don't be sorry yaar, and lets not :D which we are already not. all i can say right now is that i'm not mad or sad or anything at anyone cuz i was used to hold the same views as of yours years back and can easily put myself in your position that how it is felt. Gurmat learning is a gradual process and we keep learning Gurmat and practicing it all our life, this learning process never ends, but our lives do. all i can say at this moment is that we need to be open to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's teachings and put everything we see or hear on Gurbani test before we belive it or label it as Gurmat. and i won't post anything about Bhot if that can make this thread go to sleep. chall hunn now give me
  13. Veer Ji, can you please tell me what Gurmat is? Please read the attached pdf file tell me if you believe in Bhagat Ji's Baani and Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji's shabad or not? And also tell me where it says that Dhanna Ji worshipped a stone. Thanks. Dhanna_Ji.pdf
  14. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh Veer Ji, the reference of this shabad is not wrong, but your understanding. Please try to read the whole shabad and the referrence is right to the point. Please try to read the whole shabad not just the part that you described above. As moorties cannot eat prashad, kirpaan cannot eat it either. Sharda-Bhavna and Andh-Vishvaas are totally two difference things and Sikhi has no place for the latter. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji do not agree with this. This point has been clarified by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji very beautifully in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji that how Dhanna Ji was inspired to walk the path of Waheguru as we will see it later in the post below. According to Hindu mythology, in brief, Dhanna Bhagat worshipped a stone, he placed roties, saag, and lassi da glass in front of a stone and started praying to Bhagwaan to come and eat his food and if Bhagwan wont come, he wont eat it either, and the Bhagwan felt mercy on him and Bhagwan came over and ate his food, so dhanne ne Rabb nu Pathaar choan paaya. this is a very brief overview of this prachalat sakhi which is very very very.... famous in Sikh Jagat and is heard in our Gurdwara stages all over the world. Lets discuss it briefly. You indirectly are saying that there is nothign wrong if Sikhs worship stones or moorties as long as they are full sharda in them. Now tell me where in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji or anywhere in Sikh History where Guru Sahib asked Sikhs to worship stones as long as they have sharda? You can find numerous examples in Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji where worshipping stones is strictly prohibitted, not only to Sikhs, but to all the Humanity, Guru Da Updesh Sareyan Layee Sanjha Hai. But no where in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Guru Sahib said that Bhagat Danna Ji achieved oneness with God through worshipping Stone or Guru Sahib allowed Sikhs to worship stones, as long as you have sharda. Please give me an example of I'm missing something. I don't understan why even us Sikhs believe sooooo strongly in Hindu mythological stories and totally refuse to believe and accept Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Gurmat Concepts. Bhagat Danna Ji's Bani is on pawan panna 487 in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with a title "Asa Bani Bhagat Danne Ji Ki". There is one shabad under this sirlekh, "Bramat Bramat Bahu Jaman Bilaney..." and in this Shabad Bhaga Ji tells in his OWN words how he found and become one with Akal Purukh. Bhagat Ji never said he fond God from Stone. Now it is up to us now, if we want to believe Bhagat Danna Ji's words which are in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji where he tells is very very clear how he found Waheguru or belive so called made up Sakhis which are frequently told in our Gurdwaras by too many "Sadh Babas", which have no place in Sikhi. Furthremore, an interesting note: Under the same title, "Asa Bani Bhagat Danne Ji Ki" on the same page right after Dhanna Ji's above metioned Shabad finishes, there is one Shabad by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Mahal 5 where Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji explained by giving examples of 4 Bhagats that how Danna Ji was inspired to do Bhagtee of Waheguru. And then Bhagat Farid Ji's Bani comes. Why did Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji added his one Shabad in Dhanna Ji's baani? The reson was: Guru Arjan Dev Ji knew that even at that time, story of Dhanna Ji achiving God from stone was very famous, yet wrong. Therefore, Guru Sahib ne aapni Gawahi ditti ke Bhaee, Dhanne Bhagat Ne Pathhar chon Parmatma nu nahi paeya, balke, horna Bhagataan de jeevan ton utshaahat ho ke oh Bhagtee de rah te turye si. Now we have Bhagat Dhanna Ji's own words how became one with Waheguru and then Guru Arjan Dev Ji became witness of Dhanna Ji by adding his shabad and explaining it in further detail. Veer Ji, about a year ago, I was also used to belive that Danna was a store worshipper, but always had one thing in mind that this is anti-Gurmat concept and how come it Guru Sahib added bani of someone is SGGS who was a store worshipper, then Guru Sahib ne kirpa keeti te eh concept vi clear kar ditta. I will post about Bog later.... Please read this interesting discussino below in Punjabi by Prof. Sahib Singh. After reading the current page 487, go to the next page or Download attached pdf file and go to page 3 and start reading it. sorry if anyone got offended. plz apologize me and point out if i have said anything which is against Gurmat Siddhant. http://www.gurugranthdarpan.com/0487.html Dhanna_Ji.pdf
  15. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh Sikh Rehat Maryada uses the words Parwangee and Kirpaan Bhet. Please see Karah Prashad Section. I just confirmed that Kirpan Bhet karne di pratha was started by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and this practice was continued by all Guru Sahiban until Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Khalsa kept this practice intact till today. Kirpan Bhet was done only to seek Guru Sahib Ji's Parwaangee, acceptance. Kirpan did not eat Karah Parahshad during Guru Ji's times and it is still true today. Bhog and Parwangee are not synonyms. On one side, we are say, "We are not Hindus", but on the contrary, we are telling all kind of Sakhis which prove us hardcore Hindus. Don't we think this is the reason why RSS and other anti-sikh sansthas are taking adavntage of us due to our ignorance because are are not aware of our Sikh Principles and Sikh values, which give us a Niara Roop, a Distinct Identity? If a kirpan can eat karah prashad, then a moorti can do it too. Right? Bhog launa is very famous practice in Hindu mandirs when they put prashad in moorties' mouths and believe that whosever this moorti is, that diety eats that prashad. But Bhagat Kabir Ji says: Bwqu pihiq Aru lwpsI krkrw kwswru ] Bognhwry BoigAw iesu mUriq ky muK Cwru ]4] bhaath pehith ar laapasee karakaraa kaasaar || bhoganehaarae bhogiaa eis moorath kae mukh shhaar ||4|| bhaath = chaawal, rice; pehith = daal; laapasee = patla karah; karakaraa = i think it means crispy; kaasaar = panjeeri; moorath = moorti, idol; shhaar = suah, ash English Translation from SikhiToTheMax: Rice and beans, candies, cakes and cookies - the priest enjoys these, while he puts ashes into the mouth of the idol. ||4|| The things (prashad) he puts in moortees' mouths are equated to ashes, meaning, the moortees do not eat these things. Please see this whole Shabad by Bhagat Kabir Ji on Pawan Panna 479 at http://www.gurugranthdarpan.com/0479.html Today, it is very sad that in a lot of the Gurdwaras Ardasia Sikh, unware of Gurmat uses these tuks, anik prakaar bhojan bahu keeeae bahu bi(n)jan misattaaeae || karee paakasaal soch pavithraa hun laavahu bhog har raaeae ||2|| in Ardas and makes it sound like as if he is asking Guru Sahib to eat the karah prashad or langar which is waiting to be Kirpaan Bhet, which some of us call Bog Launa. Just reading these two tuks and translating them by ignoring the whole Subject of the Shabad where these tuks are from can led to a very serious misconception of Gurmat Concept. This is the exact case in this situation. Please read this whole shabad on Pawan Panna 1266 at http://www.gurugranthdarpan.com/1266.html Our Guru is Shabad te Shabad nu kadi bhukh nahi lagdi. Roti Paani khana was a need of the bodies in which Guru Jot was residing, which we all know, 10 human bodies. Hun Guru Jot Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib vich hai. We cannot treat the body of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the same way as of 10 human bodies where Guru Jot resided centuries ago. At the end, please go to the link below http://www.4shared.com/dir/485519/841223ac/sharing.html and download these two katha tracks, sootak_brahmanism_in_sikhi_1_of_2.mp3 sootak_brahmanism_in_sikhi_2_of_2.mp3 and listen to them if we can understand how Brahmnical practices are frequently practiced among us everyday. Guru Bhalee Kare te sanu sareyaan nu Sikhi di Daat Bakhshey... ---
  16. Actually it is called, Langar Nu Parwan karna, Acceptace of Langar in Guru's Darbar so that it could be served to Sadh Sangat after a humble Ardas to Guru Sahib when the preparation of the Langar is done. There's no such thing called "LANGAR NU BHOG LAUNA" becuase Kirpan bhog nahi laundi, means Kirpan does not eat. Langar should be served after Ardas since this practice (Kirpan bhet karna) was started during I think Sri Guru Harbind Sahib's times. However, when someobody is in a need and cannot wait until the Ardas is done, I don't think anything is wrong with serving the langar without Ardas in situations as such.
  17. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh Few weeks backs, I listened to two katha tracks on Rakhri by Prof. Inder Singh Ghaga. He did a very good job explaining this ritual. All together they are about 53 mins long. He explained what really Raakhi (Rakhri) means and how Sikhs were used to do real raakhi in the past. It is true that today when a sikh sister sends or comes to her brother to tie rakhri and borther refuses to have it tied on his wrist or mailes it back, it is very hurtful to the sister because she had sent the rakhri or came to tie it on his brother out of devotional love. She gets hurts only becuase she's unaware of the importance of Raakhi in Sikhi. In that case, the brothers need to approach their sisters in a way so that they can understand and be proud of being a sikh and will never think of tying a raakhi on their brothers' hands. There are soooooooo many things that are going on in our community that are taking us faaaaaaaaar away from the Gurbani and our history. Please click on the link below to download two traks on Rakhri and listen to them. The rest are also must listen. I will upload more tracks on different subjects when I get chance. http://www.4shared.com/dir/485519/841223ac/sharing.html Thansk.
  18. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh I just kind of skimmed though the posts on this thread. I think there mainly two problems in punjab. 1) There's no good Sikh Leader in Punjab who people can vote for. 2) If there is, majority of public in Punjab is not aware of Sikhi, and therefore, these votes go towards anti-sikh leaders. I think the solution to these problems is to do more and more Sikhi da Parchar in homes, villages, cities, and everywhere it is possible. When I was in punjab, I personally did not know anything about Sikhi, we were used to do Gugge di pooja, celebrate Rakhri, Lohri, kanjkaan, painchkaan (i dont know wat it means), go to a peer's samaadh to a nearby village every thirsday and light deevas with mustard oil, distribute besan da prashad, then go to gurdwara, etc. etc. I don't consider it to be fault of the people in punjab and I'm just one example and people may have different experiences depending on where they are from in Punjab. But a fact cannot be ignored that majority of our youth in Punjab are becoming patit, indulging in drugs, our parents and other patwante sajjan who have full beards and turbans go to Liquor stores and consume high amount of liquor. There are lots and lots of things that need to be take care of and must be targetted at general public in Punjab. No matter how many sharab de theke indian gov't openes, doesn't matter how cheap liquor or drugs become in punjabi and to what extent it is reaching at our youth in villages, schools, and colleges, but if we are aware of Sikhi, Sikhi History, and aware of who we are, there are better chances that we are saved from these choric diseases. I dont mean to change the topic of this thead, but all I'm trying to say is that the problem lies beyond elections and choice of leaders and me taking about these things won't solve a darn thing in punjab. If learned Gursikhs can work jointly to educate people in punab about Sikhi and Sikhs outside of Punjab can help these Gursikhs with maaya. these are my 2 cents. apologies requested in advance.....

  20. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Kee Fateh Veer Jio, thanks for the Asa Di vaar by Prof. Darshan Singh Ji. I am downloading the files, but what I'm seeing is that the files are at 24kbps at 12000Khz. Is this how the files you have or you have converted them to low rate to reduce the file size? I was wondering if you could upload CD quality files.... Thanks
  21. Two more issues with the picture: - Maalas (too many maalas. Gurbani condemns mala.) - Bhai Bala
