kakkar veer/panji is one of the 5ks and kesi if i'm not wrong is a pug like in appreance

veerji in candada alll of the nanaksaars are not gurdwaras as non of em fly the kesri nishaan sahib, and they all have only tables and chairs. And on top of that nanaksaar has 2 many babaye who have conflicts with each other, if these babaye are in real why would they quaral with each toher over sangat? but thats the babaye not nanaksaar.

bravekhalsa, we did'nt come on this earth 2 walk around stiff as boards, we came here 2 have fun ( definatly not as important as sikh) but we also came here 2 practise religion more so then fun, but fun is part of life, so i dont' understand how u can keep calling it an anti-sikh practice, i know sikhi is fun also, but there are different types of fun, and some may enjoy bhangra, it sure is'nt gonna make one start the life cycle over :umm:

ps: my familly used to be nanaksaria from day 1: my dadaji stopped goin to nanaksaar after death of sant ishar singh ji, but my massis family still goes there, i've b'n there for 3yrs every sunday so i do know what i've c'n :umm: oh and TABLE AND CHAIRS a direct lack of respect for akaal takht

khalsa paji/panji lol ni its true without a nishan sahib, and commitness to akaal takht it is nto a gurdwara more over the now sants there dont' even use real kirpans, but ones aroudn their knecks, yes theys how siri guru granth sahib ji much respect, but who r they to put pictures of sants (mortals) at the same level as a guru sahibs picture ie. vancouver nanaksaar, big corner pictures of the great gur-sikh sant nand singh ji like huge bigger then life size, and at the same level smaller pics of siri guru nanak dev ji maharaj, i dont' c that as nice. more over if u ever goto nanaksaar in punjab there are like 5sants there, each with a fuid within them selves, there is dicussion on declaring nanaksaar tanhia or what everu call it, i'll post a link. And when the nanaksaar sant ji died in 95 or 96 in vancouver they displayed his body in the main hall like a freak show, is'nt the body supposed to be just a hunk of nothing ness?

nanaksaar is not a gurdwara its a dera, they do not bow to the authority of akaal takht nanaksaar wuz a great dera till the death of sant ishar singh ji after that it went down hill like now their sants are at the same level as guru ji goto a dera and c for ur self

i have an article but i'm not sure how to post word files on a forum i'll juss copy n' paste it ------------- Baba Nihal Singh, Horshipur lived up to his name 1980 With the protection of Baba Nihal Singh, Krishan Kaur Khalsa was the first woman to perform kirtan, in recent time, within the confines of Sri Harimandir Sahib. Vikram Singh Khalsa was performing kirtan on the Gurupurab for the birthday for Guru Ram Das Ji. This kirtan was for a Bhog on the roof of the Harimandir Sahib -- not in the main hall. When he finished, he motioned for Krishna Kaur Khalsa to play. As she began some SGPC sevadars moved to stop her but Baba Nihal Singh and some other Nihungs stood in their way and protected her right to perform kirtan within the confines of the Harimandir Sahib. Still no Sikh woman has performed kirtan in the main darbar. In 1979, Sikhs of American descent performed Kirtan in Darbar Sahib for the very first time while observing Guru Ram Das's Prakash Utsav. Sardar Vikram Singh Khalsa, Ajeet Singh Khalsa, and Guru Sangat Singh Khalsa performed kirtan in the main darbar. http://www.allaboutsikhs.com/history/his0826.htm 1984: Baba Nihal Singh was Right Hand Man of Sant Jarnail Singh, and had many gevious with the Indian Army's and Politians One Story i heard was that they; raided the camp and caught Baba Ji and his Singhs, and tied him upto a jeep and dragged him around the villages on a rope,tearing his skin apart and painstakenly broke his ar ms and legs. They tied his beard up with his "nala" from his kachera and beat him continuously. But baba ji , nver gave up. 1964 11 Sikhs were gunned down at Paonta Sahib (Himachal Pradesh) by the Mahant's henchmen. The sangat of Poanta Sahib had requested head of Tarna Dal (not Nihal Singh, but the one before him) to visit the Gurdwara. They complained that the residing masand was abusing the Gurdwara premises through drinking, raping women that came alone, and making prostitutes dance inside. After several such requests Babaji decided to visit Poanta Sahib accompanied by 13 GurSikhs. They left, from Gurdwara Haria Welan Hoshiarpur, riding horses and horse drawn carts. When they arrived near Gurdwara Poanta Sahib, two GurSikhs carried Babaji's message for the masand requesting initiation of a Akhand Path at the Gurdwara. The masand did not give a definitive answer, instead assured to respond before the next morning. Meanwhile the masand confided with the local police chief, one of his corrupt friends who endorsed and permitted his evil acts. Babaji started the Akhand Path next morning which proceeded uninterrupted for 2 days. On the 2nd day, the masand came with the police. They arrested Babaji who was outside at that time and fired at the GurSikhs inside, who were conducting the Akhand Path. The GurSikhs had no guns. For they had not come with the intent to fight, but rather to hear the sangat's concerns. As a result they were brutally massacred. Eleven died and two survived. As each Pathi was shot while reciting the Guru Granth Sahib, another simply pushed his body and continued the uninterrupted recitation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Nihal Singh, 21 at the time, continued with his choar sewa (even when he had been shot 3 times) until the last GurSikh was shot. As the Akhand Path was interrupted, Nihal Singh finally fell. The only survivor was the youngest GurSikh, a 11 year old, who was found hiding behind a nagara (drums). Besides him all others were presumed dead. It wasn't until the bodies were being loaded up in a cart that a small child saw Nihal Singh breath and informed the local sikhs. The local sikhs who had gathered by now, screamed to get him some medical attention. Fortunately they succeeded in their efforts. He received medical attention and survived with Vaaheguru's grace. He was subsequently honored by many gurdwaras as "Jinda-Shaheed" Jathedar. The masand was finally removed. heres what it is the nihungs. where controled and bought out by the indian government, well not the nihungs but the jathedar he wuz promptly excomunicated. But there were many nihung singhs/kaurs who gave shaheedi for it.. ie. Bhai Avtar singh brahma.... but in 84 akali nihung baba nihal singh ji did have his troops (nihungs) ready for battle but they where cought pre-battle in a suprise attack, the same goes to many other jathas that where nihung and non-nihung who where gettin ready or goin for saach khaand so to say they did'nt take part is 100% false...........

rochak veer i remember ur post, why would hindus staned up against sikhs in khalistan when they're being treated as they should??? rather i dont' even think they would have the ballz 2 do it. But sikhs have a point, a reason, a mathlab, juss like the kashmiris we are a seperate culture a religion without a government to represent us we want distinction and self rule.

but as a human i suffer from curiousity and other things and juss a wanting to know... so is saachkhand a physcial realm of truth...or juss a spirtual place 2 where our athmas travel if we are successfull in human life?

hehe, i don't know about bhangra lyrics being bad cept for the part of alcohol, but toher wise they're pretty ttiiight oh and caste but other then that luv lub naal kushni mara, ankhi daler soorme :D if we remember god b4 and after bhangra its not a big deal IMO, cause god knows as humans not all of us ar eperfect, but this is my moorakh excuse cause i like bhangra so much lol so sorry

just like us veer/panji beign born into a sikhf amilly does'nt make u a sikh, same with ur friend ji, being born a narakthari does'nt make him a anarakthari if he decides to follow the only sikh way

yah tha's what i'm tryin to say lol but iknow that a friend of mine, a very chardi khalaa singh joined a bhangra team but lost intrest in it fas as it did'nt full-fill him so i know these things juss go side wise afterwards.....

hehe yah tha's for sure, i juss started listenign to shabad, gurbani and tharmik songhs dhaddis kavishs etc. and its def much more fun then bhangra, but sometimes u juss need to listen juss for shits n' giggles, hopefully i'll follow all my veers and pans on this forum
