  1. Maybe your brother should explain the basic foundations of Sikhi to her?

Explain to her that we only believe in Vaaheguru, the ten Guru Sahiban and Siri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and all the guidance we need in our life in Guru Sahibs baani.  Explain to her that for a Sikh we only turn to Guru Jee for guidance and going to pandits, babe etc is out of Gurmat and is manmat.  If that don’t work (as sometimes when families explain things people at times tend to not take it as serious) there’s loads of videos on YouTube Basics of Sikhi channel Gurmat Bibek channel etc. you can show her.
I would also add when or if your brother says it to her he should say it with firm vishvaash in what he says I.e. he should also believe and accept Siri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and follow Guru sahibs hukam.  I would start that conversation (whenever she mentions the pandit again with ‘eh Sikha da kamm nahi ah’ and take it from there.

I have also pondered such scenarios. Guru maharaj seemed to have preferred independant and self governed village/cities. They founded so many themselves. Combined with the reoccurring theme in Gurbani of being in the company of the holy, i feel the only way to truly practice and pass on our lifestyle and values is through a self sustained city. I think we could eventually consolidate our talent in one place and start something pleasing to our Guru. Having freedom to build institutions of scholarship and human advancement according to our True Teacher's Wisdom.

it can be done; you just need liked minded, trustworthy as well hard working people in your starter village.

So in theory these Panj Pyare can give a different punishment for the exact same crime? Murder vs murder, not murder vs manslaughter before someone mentions that. Also where do these Panj Pyare derive their punishments from?

    Dearest sweet humble Muslim Neighbour,

I trust this finds you well and are safe during the world pandemic.

just a thought, as we live in present time not 1400 yrs ago and new types of crimes occur and illegal activities occur plus other debatable issues in the umma (like  white wine vinegar and beer batter that my Muslims friends hold different views on) where does the laws come for these types of crimes in your Islamic states etc.  Are they from God/Qu’ran or does your scholars make decisions on these and some scholars can’t even agree on the same issue and give different advice outcome on the same issue.  Just a thought though no biggie.

in our punjab we should ban building mosques and turn remaining mosques into gurdwaras ban halal meat and try our best to make life for suls unbearable as they do to us in pakistan afghanistan etc i have no more respect for these ppl or any love for them only thing worth keeping is the sullian

Good morrow Mr Singh, although I can appreciate your frustration however,  Punjab’s present time problem is the Christian pastors and their sneaky tactics of the less fortunate population of the state.

That my dear brother is a real situation that is happening right now and Sikh leaders need to sit together and discuss options without thinking and mentioning ‘what is the best way to benefit my pocket’

  6. I remember a couple of years ago on FB there was a Nihung Singh who made a live feed on his channel in punjabi and destroyed Christian arguments because he had studied their bible.  People need to support him and basically do prahcaar in the pinds.  The Christian story is quite easy to debunk, Singhs should just tell the pind peeps of the Christian technique of sly converting to keep them aware.

  7. The belief of God is exactly just that: - a belief. To some people it’s the Sun God, to some it’s Shiva, then you have the trinity and some call God Allah.  You have some that don’t believe in God at all and some that believe there is something out there.  It is YOUR belief and it’s OK; when someone that let’s say believes in the trinity and tries to explain this to some who had an adamant in the belief in let’s say Shiva; the one that believes in Shiva may not understand the trinity theory and the one who have faith in the trinity may not understand the Shiva theory.  As long as we can respect everyone’s faith - belief it’s all good.  It’s personal to the believer and it’s true to that person.  To a Sikh the Gurus path is the absolute truth, to a Christian their bible and trinity is truth, to a Muslim their version of Allah and Quran is truth.  It’s all a belief system.

There is no correlation between their behaviour at the park and the formal debates to which I linked, literally no reason for you to bring that up other than to dodge my question of where can I see Sikhs doing the equivalent of the videos I linked?

You said "Sikhs do have Inter-Faith dialogue at inter-faith evenings and events.  They happen regular in local boroughs.". I replied "With whom do Sikhs have these interfaith dialogues with and what type of dialogue is this, debate or a happy go lucky discussion with Hindu Dharmic brothers on similarities and brotherhood?" - Still waiting on an answer.

The questions some Sikhs have asked are akin to someone asking a Hindu why they worship cows off the bat and the Hindu rolling their eyes. Those questions have been answered to death, I'm certain those Sikhs have seen answers to those very questions by people of name value from the park but ask it anyway to 'catch' me out hence why I ignore it.

You ignored the following also "Oh and I'd pay good money to see a Gurdwara invite Adnan Rashid to a debate on Islam vs Sikhi/Mughal History of India. You can have 100% of the live audience be Sikhs, just need Adnan and his camera man and it's all good."

Out of the 300+ UK Gurdwaras is there no one capable of a formal debate, is there such a thing as a Sikh scholar?

    Dearest  Muslim Neighbour,

When you see their behaviour in the park you can actually see their true colours, why would someone want to debate with persons who are disingenuous, liars, and bullies.  I am sure you are aware of when Hijab started to offer out Sa Ra Garvey to a boxing match because he was but hurt that he could not answer Sa Ra Garveys questions on Islam and that Sa Ra was destroying the Muslim speakers in the park.

Mr Neighbour, just because inter-faith events between Sikhs and others are not on YouTube (they might be I haven’t checked) doesn’t mean they haven’t happened I am sure you can go a an inter faith events in your local borough (you could even participate if you wish).  Further, just because they haven’t happened in accordance to how your would like them and run with your premise doesn’t count them out.  Who made the Muslims the judge and jury for inter-faith events?

Mate, you are just avoiding the questions you have been asked, that seems to me you are running away.  Come on mate don’t bury your head in the sand, you guys claim so much and ask for challenges and debates at least take the time out and respond to the questions.  You claim they have been dealt with... by whom on the forum have they been dealt with? Or is it that the answers will open a can of worms?  Are the brothers and sisters on this forum satisfied with the answers? They may have follow up questions.

At the end of the day mate, you can follow what you want and if it makes you a better human being and that you can respect all persons regardless of race colour religion - fair play.  However, if you start looking at others below you and have venom for persons belonging to different backgrounds then something is either wrong with your OR the message your following.  A path should make someone more humble and peaceful.

Finally, I am not sure what response you want me to say about the Adnand Rashid comment? Great you would pay to see it.  As mentioned above I have seen his behaviour at the park, I have lost a lot of respect for him.

Anyway me old China, have a good day or night or afternoon.

Looking forward to all the answers about Islam, Hadiths and the character of Muhammed that my brothers and sisters have put to you; they would be a good read.

Take care of yourself and each other (take from the Jerry Springer show from the 1990s.... Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!)

  9. @MuslimNeighbour mate there are videos of when Annan Rashid is caught in a corner he just shouts and tries to speak louder and calls the person a liar or an Islamaphobe.  Hijab and Ali Dawah have also been disrespectful.  In regards to your point about how people on this forum discuss how to get people attracted to Sikhi; not sure what is wrong with Sikhs discussing this amongst themselves as all faith most likely have this discussion.  Don’t you guys have Dawah siminar and how to get people to come to Islam? Yes you do.  In fact I came across a talk (only heard like the first three mins) it was by a Muslim who stated 75% of new converts to Islam leave the Islam within the first three years; the point of the talk was about new recruits and how to make sure the stay in your system.  Therefore your point about Sikhs discussing with Sikhs about this is of no relevance.

What would be interesting is that some Sikhs on this forum have asked you questions regarding Islam and verses in the Quran as well hadeeths and the character of your prophet (I believe even on this thread) however, I yet to see your response.  You guys believe in challenging other faiths and you claim anyone can challenge/critique Islam but will never ‘win’.  I would be interested to see your response to all the points and questions made directly to you.

Have a good day mate ?

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh ji

i am 26 n a half year old and my parents are looking forward to my marriage.. it has been 3 years they have been looking but i am looking forward to amritdhari boy, my parents are not much supportive of this. I met couple of boys in the past but no one was ready, i also have this fear that what if i marry to someone having completely different lifestyle than me because i am keen to move forward in sikhi and not step back.. i am non amritdhari but want to go forward in sikhi, recently i came across one family they said that you can take amrit but after 6 months or a year. Boy isn't recently ready but he says that maybe by seeing me he will too get into this but that would require quite a time.

what should i do ji it seem very difficult to decide ?

Best to find someone on same level.  Whenever you decide to take amrith then realistically you can only marry an Amritdhari man and at the time and stage although your parents are not supportive of you marrying an Gursikh guy they won’t really have any other option as you will be a Gursikh yourself.

However, only take amrith once you feel ready and have the thirst to give your sees to Guru sahib ??

About a few months before pahul my nitnem was chardikala Panj granthi added and other baniyan maharaj kirpa.

after Amrit and drirr I could really feel the difference, Saas Saas simran was happening a couple days after and I would wake up in the middle of the night and just automatically doing simran.

well I had the flipping cold and just a couple of days after Amrit sanchar (last Saturday, got the flu on Monday) I was just such a Manmukh that I stopped doing the Hukam of 2 hours simran and cut it down to 45 mins and cut my nitnem down to 5 baniyan.

now my flu has gone but I can’t concentrate for even 10 mins without looking at my phone to see what time it is. My Saas Saas simran has gone and kaam has kicked in. I was so depressed and frustrated with this morning simran that I just couldn’t concentrate. I’ve lost the little experiences I would have after a couple of days from sanchar and drirr.

kaam dreams have kicked in after simran, my mind won’t concentrate. This morning I did around 40 mins of simran (20 mins was focused the rest was just mind wondering) then I did my nitnem that I used to do before.

it seems like I’ve lost that chardikala with naam, please help me get it back!!!!!

Sorry you feel like this, I would suggest do local sangat of Gursikhs in your area; maybe even sangati amrithvela if possible.  When one is around Gurmukhs it can really help. Try to do some paath throughout the day and maybe take up some sport or hobby to distract from kaam.  Worst case scenario have a cold shower.

  12. What kind of friend is that?

You didn’t know it was in there and didn’t intentionally take it however, no harm telling the punj and they will advise whether amrith needs to be administered or not.

I think you should be OK but if it’s playing on your mind just go to the punj.

I don't understand, why do they call themselves as a keertani jatha but act like a big jathebandi organisation?

What if all the other hazoori jathas or keertani jathas acted like this and had a big group membership? It's better when keertani jathas just have 3 - 10 members. How on Earth can a keertan jatha have a "jathedaar"?

    so ridiculous!

Akhand Keertani Jatha is a big organisation of people who have Ishq of doing and listening to keertan; hence they have a Jathedaar as it is a huge panthic group and it is recognised and respected due to the seva and sacrifices the Singh/Singhnis have made who belong to Akhand Keertani Jatha.

Just like other panthic jathebadnia have jathedaars so does Akhand Keertani Jatha.

    Nothing ridiculous about it.

  14. Hello

Firstly you really need get out of the house go out with friends and take up some sport hobby.  Meet up with friends (positive friends that will have a good effect on you and your Jeevan) if you feel you need to talk to someone talk to a specialist in this field.  Do ardaas to Satguru Guru Granth Sahib Jee.  In time you will move on just remember Guru sahib tell us to not have attachment to things and people.  If you are Amrithdhaari you should also go pesh for any galti and the advise.

Hope this helps and hope you get better.

Why on earth would I post some pics of something I’m completely embarrassed by?! I find it revolting and you want me to send you pics so you can see if I’m being dramatic or not?!

I can’t even socialise or go out with friends by being paranoid about by all this. I just want to know if the Panj would make an exception in circumstances where unwanted hair can be removed if it looks hideous.

    Hello,

If it was a medical condition I.e. women with hormone in-balance then I am sure you can take medication and advice from the Punj.  If it’s just kes in places that all men/women get we are required to accept Vaaheguru Jee’s creation and not change our image.

I am 39 and I too have kes propping up that wasn’t there before we all do as when humans get older esp men their eye brows will go more bushy, hair props up in your ears and nostrils.  It’s just part of life.  If you want to keep your rehit but are struggling with this maybe speak to more senior spiritual Gursikhs in your areas who can advise you and uplift your spirits.

Hope this is a little help.

Amrit is internal. When you take it, it's just symbolic of the inner journey. You can perform the inner journey without actually taking it

Can you explain what you meant by performing the inner journey without taking Amrith?

  17. Vaaheguru Jee,

I am very sorry to hear about your loss phenjee; I would recommend reading Sri Sukhmani Sahib also Dukh Bhanjani Sahib (this is a collection of small baani’s put together)

You can find both in Gutke or online.

I know it must be very difficult at the moment but do try to sit with Guru sahib and try to do naam simran as Guru Jee says that’s the cure for difficult times.

Please don’t hesitate to ask for anything futher.

I wish you well phenjee ??

thankyou for this, very reassuring. I was thinking of more of active breed like border collie, german shepherd or lab - noted about diet and meat requirements of a dog

They seem great dogs too, German shepherds are very protective of their home and can be barking a lot around strangers, but loving to their owners.  The big dogs do need loads of exercise so as long as you commit to this.  As mentioned before Jee please do your research and speak to other dog owners and your local vet for further information.

Absolute rubbish. I owned a dog and it was not fed meat. All the dogs in India are not fed meat. It’s just pure laziness

Have you seen the dogs in India that just eat parshada? They don’t look healthy at all.

I do agree they can survive on just veggies but they are not designed just to be on veggie, just look at their teeth and the fact that some owners give them a raw meat diet and they can digest raw meet.  Why deny them what Vaaheguru Jee has created them to be their Khraakh.

Piaario it’s your choice some owners give, wet food, some dry, some raw and some veggie.  If I’m doubt speak to the vet jeeo.

Its not about laziness in-fact giving them veggie food would be quicker and cheaper but as I said earlier I won’t deny them what is their khaarakh.  Myself and many other Amrithdhaari Gursikh families like mine giving our dog this dry dog food and keep it separate and we don’t see nothing wrong with it.  I say don’t fall in vehem that your dog is eating meat and you have meat on a shelf.  That’s what Guru sahib Jee wanted us to steer clear from - Vhem.
