Heard secondhand information:

Apparently this person from Amristar region went to do Hajj; and was asked to do seva there; who claims to have found out that inside the Kabba are the pavitar Kharavan (Slippers) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji; Apparently this person has written his findings in a book too.

Can the sangat assist me in finding more about this? Do you know if this is true? Have you heard anything about this? Do you know if such a book exists? Or is this all a hoax?

You will be happy that you read this all the way through!

As you got up this morning, I watched you, and hoped you would talk to me, even if it was just a few words, asking my opinion or thanking me for something good that happened in your life yesterday. But I noticed you were too busy, trying to find the right outfit to wear. When you ran around the house getting ready, I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait, fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then I saw you spring to your feet. I thought you wanted to talk to me, but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip instead. I watched patiently all day long. With all your activities I guess you were too busy to say anything to me.

I noticed that before lunch you looked around, may be you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didn't bow your head. You glanced three or four tables over and you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didn't. That's okay. There is still more time left, and I hope that you will talk to me yet. You went home and it seems as if you had lots of things to do. After a few of them were done, you turned on the TV. I don't know if you like TV or not, just about anything goes there and you spend lot of time each day in front of it not thinking about anything, just enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate your meal, but again you didn't talk to me.

Bedtime I guess you felt too tired. After you said good night to your family you popped into bed and fell asleep in no time. That's okay because you may not realize that I am always there for you. I've got patience, more than you will ever know. I even want to teach you how to be patient with others as well.

I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, prayer or thought or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a one-sided conversation. Well, you are getting up once again. And once again I will wait, with nothing but love for you. Hoping that today you will give me some time. Have a nice day!

No there is a lot of explanatory text in the Gutka Sahib. And I was just going through it. It says that one should start this on a Navchande Aaetvar (i can make sense of aaetvar being Sunday but dont know what Navchande means).

Hope this helps. I have no idea how to post things here in punjabi.

I was just going through the Nanaksar Nitnem Gutka and came across the term Navchande Aaetvar (Navhancde Sunday).

Does anyone know what does Navchande mean in this?

On a separate note; there are so many sikh/panjabi families which are being devestated in the western and in our own homeland now a days.

the other communities have an internal counselling service which helps such families to cope and try to salvage the marriage. I dont know of any in the SIKH community which does this. We as a community need to look into this.

Just a small comment / query

I sometimes wash the dishes at the Gurudwara - the main utensils ie. the langar making utensils. And while I do this the sevadars also bring in the Parshad vale bate etc.

While I was cleaning them today; there was parshad still stuck on them. I washed them and the parshad gets washed away with the cleaning water.

The thought that came into mind was This is Parshad and shouldnt be going away with water.

Just want your thoughts/comments on how you will take this into account.

Ok here is my comments. And believe me I have been training for more than a while.

You need to have a tight support around your privates esp when training. Keeping your bits hanging around can lead to longer term issues such as hiernia etc.. . . ..

So the best thing to do is to get a supporter. Esp if you are runinnng or doing any legs training e.g. Squats etc.

You can wear the supporter underneath the kachera or even on top of it. I used to wear it underneath but found it too tight and after playing around managed to get a comfortable fit over my underpants.

You can purchase the supporter from any decent sports shops fairly cheap.

Understand I should be doing patth slowly and ensuring that I understand it. The thing is I get other feelings and emotions inside me if I dont do it quickly.

even if i blink i get the emotional thoughts entering my mind and distracting me. Anyway hope to keep on trying. Hopefully Maharaj will do kirpa on me one day.

thought i will share what has happened in the past few days:

- I have become slightly more stronger. Guess time heals as they say but it still hurts like hell.

- I have been reciting bani but something strange has happened. I read bani but dont have my

heart in it. So just for example sake: I can do morning nitnem within 15/20 mins; rehrass sahib

in literally under 10 mins. I do ask for forgiveness in ardass; but the point is that i feel inside

that i have really lost my faith. How do I get it back. As thats the only thing that will give me some

peace inside.

No progress on the job side; got a few interviews lined up; but lets see.

On the marriage side; she is not communicating at all. In summary FFFFKkkked up.... (sorry abt that)

I need serious help with bringing my faith back. As thats the only thing that had me going till now and losing it makes it feel even worse.

I dont know even know how to start this.

Life is slapping me so so hard now a days that i dont know where is stand. But wanna share this with my brothers and sisters here.

I am in my mid-age, and my wife had decided to leave me and taken kids with her. This was a few weeks ago. Been to see her a few times but she is adement on not coming back. I have felt the pain of this and have been begging her to come back; but nothing seems to be changing her mind. It was due to my faults and some of hers too.

Anyho, was still trying to sort that mess out when I have been informed today that the whole dept that I work in is being slashed; so no more job either.

Been trying to do Path and simran but cant focus either. So not sure what to do. How do I get my wife/life back. I did use to have a v strong faith but I am just feeling that it is being eroded by the harsh realities of life. I do path but just skim the readings. Not taking anything in.

Nice of u to start this topic. But do u really think u will be able to ban this movie.

Sorry abt the blatent truth - but Regardless of whatever petition u make, and submit, this movie aint gonna get banned. Good or bad. Live with it. Think if you had made the movie, as a producer, will you really let it to be banned. Afterall it has passed the indian censor board. On top of that by the time you have your petition filed, and any action will be taken on it this will be like 6 months. lets be realistic here.

Why is that we (including me) have to wait for things to be made, completed, released in market and then we start taking steps to stop it.

This is such reactive stuff. We as a kaum and as a community need to be a lot more proactive so that these things dont happen in the first place.

Our so called <banned word filter activated> leaders need to take a step of ensuring that they have the rights/patents of ensuring that these movies/pictures have to take permission from them. Only then such movies/pictures/photos/music can be made.

Anyho my 2 paise.....

1. There is a sakhi abt Guru Nanak Dev ji, when he visited middle east, Makka. After a few days there, he holds the hand of the son of the Qazi, and takes him on an mental journey. They travel through planets and also stop at a planet where there are Amritdhari sikhs and take parshad.

Now that does prove from Guru Nanak Dev ji that Sikhi will be around in the future at other planets.

I am sure I will be flamed on this too.

We have bought a computer for our home and we have found some problems, which I want to bring to your notice.

1. There is a button 'start' but there is no 'stop' button. We request you to check this.

2. We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friends clicked 'run' he ran up to Pune! So, we request you to change that to 'sit', so that we can click that by sitting.

3. One doubt is whether any 're-scooter' is available in system? I find only 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home.

4. There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the door key and we tried a lot trace the key with this ' find' button, but was unable to trace. Please rectify this problem.

5. My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoft sentence', so when you will provide that?

6. I bought computer, CPU, mouse and keyboard, but there is only one icon which shows 'MY Computer': when you will provide the remaining items?

7. It is surprising that windows says 'MY Pictures' but there is not even a single photo of mine. So when will you keep my photo in that.

8. There is 'MICROSOFT OFFICE' what about 'MICROSOFT HOME' since I use the PC at home only.

9. You provided 'My Recent Documents'. When you will provide 'My Past Documents'?

10. You provide 'My Network Places'. For God sake please do not provide 'My Secret Places'. I do not want to let my wife know where I go after my office hours.

Firsly can someone tell me what benefit is there of using these sites. There has been so many of them Hi5, Friends reunited, myspace and now facebook. All of them come and go. Apart from using some silly programs etc what else do you do on these websites. Send each other messages.

Erm have u ever heard of email. Why cant you lot send each other email instead of writing on your friends funwall. Is it any different than a modified version of email.
