  1. Pleas forgive me if I sound rude in any way but, how is this connected to my question? Is it that you feel that Islam is taking over and it is our duty as Sikhs to prevent it or that we should defend those who are under threat of being taken over? Or am I just totally lost? :
  2. Has anyone heard of yin and yang? it kinda works like that- together man and woman become one- they fill in eachothers empty spaces- and they support eachother therefore in a way they are equal and another they aren't- like Pritam Singh Ji said above - when it comes to weight they are the same but they are different in substance!
  3. This isn't very funny-its not very relavent to anything and i dont know what the heck it was doin in the Times
  4. but Sikhi also condemns certain beliefs in certain religions.. So by condemning are we judging or by judging are we condemning?
  5. Erm i might be at fault to changing the subject a bit too- or going on about the changed subject lol neways my apologies sarbatto!
  6. Yeh i agree Sikhs dont do it cos of the reasons explained by Khalsa Girl and I; thats why its not part of our relgion dont ya know plus it's a ritual/ceremony adn we dont do those
  7. The answers are simple: the human need for money and power; it blinds people so that they become the people that Khalsa Girl 1 has described.
  8. wats up with montly thing???? my mom is usually wicked all the time. its very rare she gets frustrated Hey I dont get it but a lot of the other women in my family do...not nice
  9. Slowly slowly your family will get used to it and some things will start to rub off on them- i.e my mum now wants to tke Amrit and she doesn't eat meat and my dad sayd he will do the same after I marry (probably cos he knows it wont be for aaaaages) but the point is things DO get better as long as yu hang in there...now my dad cant remember the time where i didnt wear dastaar- he feels like i've always worn it!
  10. erm no, no it didnt but thanks for trying anyway
  11. thanks...I don't know any gursikhs in the Surrey area and have never seen them actually...are there any out there?
  12. Cant say I'm surprised by this... It's only gonna change if get off our butts and change it! How else do we expect change...It dont just happen people!
  13. Is it once a month? I get the same thing from my mum Best thing to do is and do nothing remotely wrong or stay out of the way :e:
  14. but what do oranges have to do with fasting to death eh? eh i blame the english language for the confusion Lol but its the hindi language aint it? Alright well i'm just confused
  15. "lol any kind of sexual way i think If so.. ask your dad if its ok to look at Sikhs and Hindus and other people in "that way" then lol I dont see the logic in that" I have no idea what he means by that and will clarify with him when he returns from Punjab
  16. It's not just the girls who go for it! There are boys who do it too...you just hear about them less...I know someone who not only married a Muslim girl but also became a Muslim...He went to Pakistan for his wedding and by doing this he had lost his family and anykin of life he had with them....I'm not saying I feel sorry for him though and I frankly agree that if you convert or marry out of Sikhi your aren't a real Sikh in the first place :e:
  17. What a way to justify practice of inequality. It is a scientific fact that marrying within the same race will not produce smart genes as opposed to marrying the hybrid. One Punjabi married to a non-Punjabi will produce smarter genes compared to an Indian married to an Indian. Isnt Polygami when you have more than one wife or husband? It's not good but what's that got to do with marrying non-punjabi's? or Indians? Not to be rude or anything because Veerji you have put forth an incredible rebuttle
  18. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I'd just like to ask if there are any Gurudwara Sahib's in the Surrey...Hampshire area...the closest one I know of is in Reading or Hounslow and it's a bit far to keep going regularly without a car...
  19. But today we sleep again as drugs/alcohol and the distortion od Sikhi continues! but a lot of people who do this (mainly the youths) still don't know what happened and if they do they don't know why or what it means to us.
  20. Anyone know of AmritVela's in the West London Area?
  21. Thank you to all of you who have replied to my question... I have many Muslim friends - living in a high muslim populated area - and I get along with most of them fine; they and their parents are very respectful towards me and my religion, and i am towards them and theirs - despite what my dad says...but i couldn't help but feel; thanks to dads influence; that slowly slowly they try to influence me in small ways..like their explanations about things like Halaal meat and infidels...This didn't work on me though but i duno I just felt i couldn't trust them or something and after reading about the history between Sikhs and Muslims (good and bad) i didnt know what to think...I have come to the conclusion that i suppose to befriend them it's ok but i dont think i could trust them with my life or anything like that; and I dont think its a good idea to have anykind of sexual relationship with them - including marraige (not that i'm into sexual relationships outside of marraige) because theirs too many differences between us. Please let me know your views!
  22. "Sikhs aren't supposed to even look at a Muslim in any kind of 'that way' manner whatsoever." You kind of lost me on this bit, what did you mean by any kind of 'that way' manner? lol any kind of sexual way i think
