  2. Vaheguruji ka khalsa Vaheguruji ki fateh a poem.... Dhan Dahn Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji Baba Bakala, the True Guru amongst twenty-two contenders Makhan Shah found the real Guru amongst the frauds and pretenders, Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji defended the Kashmiri Pandits under oppression He honoured the Hindu Dharam and saved it from suppression. Aurangzeb’s campaign of religious persecution continued ruthlessly Those who failed to convert and embrace Islam were massacred brutally, The Pandits visited GuruJi at Anadpur Sahib and relayed their anguish and pain 9year old Gobind Rai asked their father what could remedy such suffering and disdain. GuruJi answered the only way to save the people from the Mogul wrath and control Would require the sacrifice of a Great Person with a Great Soul, Who is greater than you Dear Father? Asked Young Gobind Rai With a smile GuruJi replied if I become Musalman then you shall all comply. GuruJi was summoned to Delhi accompanied by his three faithful Devotees Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Dayala and Bhai Sati Das were unnerved at being seized, ‘Embrace Islam, perform a miracle or accept death’ Guruji was told Do as you please as miracles are against the Will of God and My Sikhi I will uphold. Bhai Mati Das, bound between two pillars, sawn in half whilst reciting JapJi Sahib with each breath Bhai Dayala, placed in a cauldron with blistering hot water and boiled to death, Bhai Sati Das wrapped up tightly in cotton, set alight and burnt alive All three were intoxicated with Love for their Guru and for Martyrdom they did strive The True Master of the Sword sat mediating under the Banyan-tree Instantly beheaded, Bhai Jaita dashed for the holy Head and to Anandpur Sahib he flee Bhai Lakhi Shah emptied his carts and retrieved the sacred Body at night He forsake his home, built up a pyre and then set everything alight So Swift, so Noble and Virtuous, So Powerful, Humble and Gracious. The Fearless Warrior, the Honourable Commander The Pious Philosopher, the Faith Defender. With a Mind that never faltered With a Strength that never weakened With a Spirit that fought so righteously With a Heart that loved so benevolently Dhan Dhan Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji Sahib Jagat Jalanda Rakh Lai Apni Kirpa Dhaar Jit Duaray Ubhrey Tite Laihu Ubaar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj (853) O Lord, the world is on fire, save it by showering your grace. 3. Vaheguruji ka khalsa Vaheguruji ki fateh Vijay Singh was a 13 year old Sikh boy from Manchester. HE kept his kesh and was a smart kid. However, he had a secret, he was the victim of severe taunting, physical and emotional violence. Little Vijay SIngh hung himself from the banister at his home in Manchester, on a Sunday in October, 1996. The term 'Bullycide' refers to those children/young people who commit suicide after being subjected to bullying. You only need to type the word into a search engine and you will realsie just how much of an issue it is. See the link below for further information.... http://www.bullyonline.org/schoolbully/cases.htm#UK Forgive me for my endless flaws, Dust of your sweet sweet charan Kaur Vaheguruji ka khalsa Vaheguruji ki fateh. The below poem was written by a SIngh and was dedicated to Vijay Singh Racist ruffian, low-down scum Foul mouthed thug do you think its fun To beet up a kid who's half your size? Knock his turban and punch his eyes He gets good grades and it makes you sick turban-head's clever and you're so thick. You push and punch and steal his lunch You swing your fist his nose goes crunch Bleeding Paki! Bloody Paki! Swear a lot then steal his money Grab his arms - push him to the wall Punch! Crunch! He takes the fall Kick! Spit! Watch him crawl Walk away from his crying call. Lessons start at the school from hell Classroom's more like a prison cell Sitting in his blood stained clothes Tears in his eyes and a busted nose Bully boys don't stop their taunting No teacher saw his daily haunting No teacher said you're a lion Singh Be BRAVE, be STRONG but never give in School bell rings:"Bye-Bye friends I ain't coming to hell again!" Running home as fast as he can No one knows his secret plan Up the stairs for freedom call He escapes from his body walls Free at last from the violence Hangs himself in deathly silence. Where he ends we begin Bullies won't kill another Singh Unite as CHILDREN make the change Don't let things stay the same We want freedom - no more crime We want freedom all the time No more Singhs will die this way Unite as CHILDREN - fight them today! CHILDREN UNITE IT'S TIME TO FIGHT THE BULLY BOYS THE RACIST NOISE DON'T LIVE IN DREAD TELL THE TEACHER INSTEAD YOU'RE NOT ALONE LET YOUR TROUBLES BE KNOWN
  4. Vaheguruji ka khalsa Vaheguruji ki fateh Beautiful sangat ji this week is anti-bullying week, There have been several highly publicised cases where children have been the victims of bullying. I'm sure we all clearly remember our beautiful little brother Vijay Singh who took his life to escape his bullies. Bullies target those who are differnt be it appearance, intelligence, religious beliefs, background, sometimes there doesnt have to be a reason. Recently at a Kids' Sikhi camp we did some circle time where kids talked and expressed their concerns and worries about being Sikh. The issue of bullying came up, particularly amoungst young boys keeping their kes. They said that sometimes they get teased or picked on because of their Sikhi roop. At the end of this session all the sewadars made a promise, we said if you can't approach your teacher or anybody else, everytime you come to Gurdwara Sahib, Guru Kirpa you'll always see one of us around. Come talk to us and we will help you to resolve the problem, be it visit your school, talk to your teachers, your parents... anything... just please dont suffer in silence. SO basically the point of this post let it be known to our younger brothers and sisters that there are so many avenues of support out there. Appraching older brothers and sisters is just one of them... Forgive me as a primary school teacher I take bullying very seriously but as a sister to all my beautiful little brothers and sisters I take it even more seriously. If anybody needs any support on what to do if they are being bullied then please get in touch.... forgive me for my endless flaws and if i have said/ done wrong then forgive me again. Dust of your sweet sweet charan Kaur Vaheguruji ka khalsa Vaheguruji ki fateh Monday: my money was taken. Tuesday: names called. Wednesday: my uniform torn. Thursday: my body pouring with blood. 12. vaheguruji ka khalsa vaheguruji ki fateh talking about fasting, most of the kids in my class are fasting (predominantly islamic children where i teach) some of them are as young as 7! really gets on my nerves... :D they're only kids yet they feel compelled to fast due to presures from their faith, families n wider community. one little girl came up to me last week saying 'miss kaur im so hungry, i even dream about food and im not supposed to but i cant help it...' i asked her if she would let me speak to her parents but she looked so frightened, i didnt say anything in case she got into trouble at home.... vaheguruji ka khalsa vaheguruji ki fateh

Just hoping that the beautiful sangat amongst you will share your experiences on the following.... I remember the first time I heard the shabad 'Mohi rain n vihaavai needh n aavai bin dhaekhae gur dharabaarae jeeo' I cannot endure the night, and sleep does not come, without The Sight of The Beloved Guru's Court. It hit me like lightning, provoked so many emotions on so many different levels, I was like Maharaj how did you know I was feeling like this.... You captured everything I was struggling to convey but had no idea how to. The following poem is kind of like the before and after.... http://www.sikhpoems.com/darbar.html Please don't get me wrong, all Bani is wholly perfect but there are times when a single line or shabad just completly knocks you over and evokes so much! Can sangat kindly share their experiences and feelings as well as the shabad.... Pls forgive me.... Dust of ur sweet lotus charan. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
