  1. how come sikhitothemax didnt use professor sahib singhs version?
  2. - a) time periods b) meera rejected a lot of the rituals, and theology. i'm no scholar, but i think its a feasible notion that guru sahib conversed with lots of bhakti's in that time period
  3. gur fateh, I believe that in the following shabad, http://sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=2774 the reference to "Meera" is to this bhakti: http://www.womeninworldhistory.com/heroine12.html - otherwise STTM is flawless
  4. If you give a mouse a cookie,he’s going to ask for a glass of milk. When you give him the milk, he’ll probably ask you for a straw. When he’s finished, he’ll ask for a napkin. Then he’ll want to look in the mirror to make sure he doesn’t have a milk mustache. When he looks into the mirror, he might notice his hair needs a trim. So he’ll probably ask for a pair of nail scissors. When he’s finished giving himself a trim, he’ll want a broom to sweep up. He’ll start sweeping. He might get carried away and sweep every room in the house. He may even end up washing the floors as well. When he’s done, he’ll probably want to take a nap. You’ll have to fix up a little box for him with a blanket and a pillow. He’ll crawl in, make himself comfortable, and fluff the pillow a few times. He’ll probably ask you to read him a story. When you read to him from one of your picture books, he'll ask to see the pictures. When he looks at the pictures, he’ll get so excited that he’ll want to draw one of his own. He’ll ask for paper and crayons. He’ll draw a picture. When the picture is finished, he’ll want to sign his name, with a pen. Then he’ll want to hang his picture on your refrigerator. Which means he’ll need Scotch tape. He’ll hang up his drawing and stand back to look at it. Looking at the refrigerator will remind him that he’s thirsty. So…he’ll ask for a glass of milk. And chances are that if he asks for a glass of milk, he’s going to want a cookie to go with it.
  5. just dont give the mouse a cookie
  6. i was trying to have a discussion on another forum on sikhs believing in other faiths, but anger got the better of me so i had to stop. theres a fine line between being devoted to guru sahib and respecting other faiths. doesnt bani say to go where praises of akaal purakh are sung? i used to think that i would only go to gurdwara sahib, cus i trusted that location of praises to be sung. but i guess that if praises are being sung at churches and other temples its okay to go. is akaal purakh being praised at this occasion? i wouldnt go, cuz how is shaving ones head praising creation?
  7. waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh! Sadh sangat ji, I have been looking for sri guru gobind singh ji's shabads on powerpoint for a loong time.... i finally found them at this site: http://www.guroocities.com/dhurkibani/Lite...aatshahDeShabad I just thought I could let anyone else who is looking know where to find them.... I just looked at some of them and realized that not all of them are in powerpoint, so I guess a sevadaar will have to do a lil copying and pasting... (Just a reminder that Vaisakhi is coming up....)
  8. ektaone.com is back online!!!!!!!!!! http://www.ektaone.com/ Bole so Nihaal!
  9. theres another program called isher micro media: http://ik13.com/isher%20micro%20media%202005.htm (you sorta half to be fluent in reading gurmukhi)
  10. not to diss america, because it is the greatest country....but have you guys seen this "documentary": http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7...2F11+conspiracy It may be farfetched, but it definately rasies some interesting questions.... im not saying i agree or disagree with the video, but i definately think we should be open to all posibilities....... in the end this is all god's play right?
  11. when i first started using the projector at our gurdwara sahib, i was told not to do it because it was a distraction to the sangat. after some trial and error, i found that the best way not to distract the sangat is to project only when you have the shabad in the proper format (ex: in powerpoint).... Our projector has a remote and it has a button that closes the shutter. this allows you to work on the laptop without distracting the sangat... if you dont have a remote, you can press fn + f5 to stop the output from the laptop, but the best option is to get a remote... or if you want to get an awesome projector: call 866-510-5155, and speak with Denver. He gave us a decent deal with ours and he knows the Sodhi family (the Singh that was killed in Arizona after 9/11) We got a Panasonic PT-LB50UP for around $1600
  12. or how about this one: http://www.shabadguru.org/ you can download the shabad guru explorer from there.... i think the sikher program is not finished yet...
