  1. So according to you, Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Bhindranwale (whose guidance on how this is done in recorded in the pothi as mentioned), Sant Kartar Singh Ji Bhindranwale and Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale all practiced useless Hindu practices which were against Sikhism, that didnt help them get closer to God and were in fact koor kiryeyah!! Nice. Just to go over that again, Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji who was one of the most if not the most influtential parcharaks of the last century, whose thousands of students occuipied and continue to occupy many of the major grnathi/katha roles across the panth, the person that studied just about every granth, every religious source etc there was to get an understanding of all faiths, whose katha is stuided and memorised by modern day kathavachaks to enable them to do katha ... he was practicing koor kiryeah ... but YOU know better. Sant Kartar Singh, the student of Sant Gurbachan Singh JI, who awoke the panth from the threat of dehdharis, who campagined without rest doing katha for over 12 or 14 hours a day to awake the sangat, to join them with gurbani and Guru sahib. Who was the only one to stand up to gandhi when she walked into maharajhs divaan. the one who openly spoke about encrouching hinduism etc, the one who having learnt from Sant Gurbachan singh ji planted the seeds of the later morche ... he was practicng and supporting koor kireyah ... but YOU know better. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, who carried on the work of Sant Kartar Singh Ji, who fully awaoke the panth, who shook it too its roots. Who administered amrit to hundreds of thousands, who challenged the hindu practices and re-established the sikh practices of Gurbani, Bana and Shastar. Who gave santhia to countless, who inspired thousands and thousands of singhs and singhnia to give their heads to defend the sikh faith and practices. Never was a hero like him seem before. He carrried on the parchar done by Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji and Sant Kartar Singh Ji ... and according to you ... this was koor kiriyeah. So despite everything that Sant Ji did, everything he stood for, practiced, preached etc ... he is still guilty of practicing useless hindu rituals.... since YOU know better. If only the above 3 mahapurshs and all the gursikhs that were taught by them and all those that gave their lives after having been inspired by them .. had met YOU. You could have saved sant kartar singh ji from doing koor kireyah. What a shame that you live in southall and not in panjab at the time that these bechareh mahapursh and shaheeds were doing their seva. Im sure the panth would have benefitted so much from your wisdom after all the years you have spent on gurbani and seva etc. Im glad you feel so confident that you can do nindiya of all these sants and shaheeds. <_<
  2. Im sorry i wasnt are that doing something as simple as asking for a set of accounts/breakdown of costs and a constitution counted as either moaning, throwing a spanner into the works or anything else like that at all. No offence but if a Channel demands money from sevadars who were doing Guru Granth Sahib Ji's final seva (last month following the fire in East London) for putting up a few seconds to allow the sangat to know about the programe... that says a lot to me. When that kind of thing happens, when were looking at one of the saddest occasions in our lives to date, and the owners can only see pound signs, then sorry but people will want to know about this kind of thing. Other Singhs arranging other events and programmes for the benefit of the sangat have also had bad experiences. Nobody is expecting perfection, but unless there is a dialogue then thinks cannot get better. It is unfortunate that when your involved in seva you become privvy to conversations and issues which sangat is not aware of. Hence the polite requests for transparancy from the outset. Apologies if this sounds negative, many of my friends are regular contributors to the channel and help out etc, so i have no issue with the channel in that sense. Just a few things which i believe should be made clear for the sangat, thats all.
  3. Again Singh, before asking for funds, the Channel needs to express what its shortfall is. The number £50,000 has been mentioned, but we dont know what its for. As I said, from what visitors to the channel have mentioned the channel is run from the same building, using the same equipment and cameras etc as BritAsia. Since BritAsia seems to have survived for this long, how is it that Sikh Channel is struggling when it hasnt had to face the same type of overheads? I dont mean to be a pain, im just very curious about how the channel operates, since some of the singhs i know as well as others on this forum have struggled with the channel on a few points. The cameramen that were recording at the Hyde park event said that they were all their on internships, i.e. working for free. So staff costs cant be all that much either it seems. The kirtani's that do live kirtan all do that free as well etc. Personally i hope the channel does do great, but for it to deliver to the full potential, it needs to make sure that everything is honest and clear from day one. As one channel has opened, it will probably only be a period of time before someone else opens one (not me in case ur thinking lol i can barely afford the tv license to watch the tv at all!) and the more competition the better it will be for the sangat in regards to programming and variety. But if the channel seriously wants large investors/donations then it has to be open about its operations, it has this duty to the sangat at least.
  4. I think it is vital to see both the accounts and the constitution of the Channel. Lets be honest there is a lot of excellent seva being done by different people around the world, from khalsa aid, to helping shaheed familes and children, to protecting prisoners and ensuring their welfare, kids and adults sikh camps, punjabi schools etc. All of these are in dire needs for funding as well. Sangats money needs to be spent, directed and used wisely. As such, it is our duty to ensure that we know (to be best of our ability) where money goes. A number of groups that I personally know spend countless man hours and money out of their own pockets for doing seva, and any profits they make/donations they recieve go straight back into covering costs and seva, in fact a lot of people want reassurance on this point, so it is a very valid point! Singh thats kind of my point, if Brit Asia is funded via adverts from companies, then what is the sikh channels business model? Businesses also advertise on the Sikh Channel, so what is the shortfall? I cannot for a second believe that businesses are more likely to put adverts on a (minor when compared to other major bollywood channels) music channel, then on the ONLY sikh channel which will have i would guess (but would appreciate clarity from the channel) many times more viewers. Logically it does not make sense. Also is the channel being run at arm's length, ie is it being run seperately from the other business interests of the owners? Or is it part of a business group which includes the other channels, and the legal businesses? If we want this to benefit the sangat long term then these are the questions we need to adress right from the outset, especially since the channel has now appealed so openly for funding. It is only fair that it be open about the way it is structured.
  5. Are there any published accounts/reports giving the financials of the Channel? Particularly with reference to income and outgoings as well as any constitution governing the running of the channel? i.e. any official documentation? As the owners also own BritAsia TV (and other channels), and that seems to not have a problem with funding or running the 'risk' of becoming subscription based, it does make one wonder why the sikh channel is facing such difficulty. Since the channel is run from the same studios, using the same equipment and people, other than the license fee, what other costs are there? Would be good to see a breakdown of the £50,000 that is being spent each month, and how revenue is being raised at present to cover this. Although I dont watch britasia, i cant remember a single appeal on there for funds? When the original sikh channel idea was floated there was a lot of concern (and rightly so!) about the financials. In particular how the channel was to be funded, staff paid, what would happen to donations and doners and where the profits (when made) would go, i.e. to the investors of directly and strictly back into the channel. A lot of people were concerned that the developers would ask for donations and 'seva' and then once money would be made would pocket a nice lump sum of cash! At the time the original team didnt have all the answers to the above, but seemed genuine enough to seek the ansers. I think the new channel hasnt really adressed any of these points. Before the sangat ploughs cash into this venture, they need to know what they are getting in return (beyond pre recorded t series videos and people doing kirtan which can be seen at the local gurdwara), and what the owners are getting out of it as well. As ever transparancy is the key.
  6. wow! that really is amazing! I remember somebody telling me before, that he was an unpaid employee, i.e. after he had completed his duty of service he requested that he be allowed to stay on, on an unpaid basis so that he could continue to do seva of guru sahib. in the report it said that the so called incident that lead to his dismisal happened 6 months ago ... sounds very dodgy to me. And that picture of singh sahib with baba takhar singh ji is beautiful! The singh on the front 'kabeer' is a chardikala singh as well!
  7. :o If you look at the all the other crazy stuff and beadbi done by politicians and sgpc employees this is beyond a joke! A teeny bit on mehndi on his hands Vs Badal sitting on a chair in maharajhs hazoori and then sitting at the feet of a nakli sadh ... which is worse! One gets sacked, the other is almost worshipped (as long as they get to keep their air conditioned offices and white cars with the flashing red light whoo hooo) <_<
  8. Someone told me its being released at the Loughbourgh Shaheedi Smagam on 5th July? I was there at last years event, was ram packed with sangat! Good venue to launch since all sangat will be there to pay tribute to all the panths shaheeds as well!
  9. FANTASTIC ARTICLE! must read for everyone!
  10. check out the video of the little 11 year old boy that they convert on there! The kid is soooo lost he doesnt have a clue where he is or what he's doing! And these are fully grown men converting a child without it would seem his parents consent or involvement (i assume.) Personally i'd be ashamed if i was a muslim and i saw this video .. which they are treating as one of their mighty victories!

See you all there!
  12. The police really are dim i have to say that, you had to be there to hear the whole conversation!! Im guessing the author was one of the camera men clicking away and eavesdropping on the conversation lol If he had stayed a bit longer and listened to a bit more about what Kohli had to say when the other white coppers were not around, then he may have had something a lot more interesting to talk about!
  13. If people get a chance, please print out the poster (make small flyers) and give out tomorrow at the hyde park march as well, make sure all the coaches have a copy of the poster and the sangat knows about this event as well, its only 6 days after the march! Please try and attend and be part of the ardas!
  14. In reponse to a question someone asked... yes that is the bullet that hit guru granth sahib ji's saroop in sri harimandir sahib ..
  15. who says the muslims have ownership over a colour? And who cares if we do look a little militant? I think that would be a good thing. Lets keep this in context ... were talking about 25 years since Sri Harimandir Sahib was attacked ... and the issue is that we might look a 'little militant/muslim'? 25 years of doing peaceful happy go lucky rallies has achieved what? Lets be brutally honest, flower power has achieved us nothing. But seeing as we must abide by the laws we continue anyway and do the best we can. However, the Indians, the ENGLISH and others need to realise that this is not just another 'day wasted in the sun' or a walk around for a bunch of hippies. If they feel a shiver down their spine then good! They need to see and hear the pain of the Sikhs, and to realise that we want justice, but also .. that we are prepared to get it, by whichever means we are forced to adopt (with guru jis kirpa). Your perfectly entitled to your view, I just think that the last thing we need to worry about when wearing a certain colour of clothing is that we may look like muslims. If we go down that line, then might as well put away the beards and turbans as well ... and god forbid anyone realise that these muslim lookalikes also carry daggers!
  16. Someone has sent a message saying, 'that they dont know how to tie a black dastarr' ... :6 Erm it would be exactlly the same as your normal one, except that it would be black in colour ... :umm:
  17. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh We would like to thank all the sangat from across the globe for taking part in the seva to complete 1,000,000 Chaupai Sahib’s. With Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s the 1,000,000 paath have been completed and Guru Ji has shown that once again, any ardas done before him is listened to. We have produced the Hukumnama again in full below just to show how great Guru Maharajh is: Soohee, Fifth Mehla: The Lord Himself has stood up to resolve the affairs of the Saints; He has come to complete their tasks. The land is beautiful, and the pool is beautiful; within it is contained the Ambrosial Water. The Ambrosial Water is filling it, and my job is perfectly complete; all my desires are fulfilled. Congratulations are pouring in from all over the world; all my sorrows are eliminated. The Vedas and the Puraanas sing the Praises of the Perfect, Unchanging, Imperishable Primal Lord. The Transcendent Lord has kept His promise, and confirmed His nature; Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1|| The Creator has given me the nine treasures, wealth and spiritual powers, and I do not lack anything. Eating, spending and enjoying, I have found peace; the gifts of the Creator Lord continually increase. His gifts increase and shall never be exhausted; I have found the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. Millions of obstacles have all been removed, and pain does not even approach me. Tranquility, peace, poise and bliss in abundance prevail, and all my hunger is satisfied. Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of his Lord and Master, whose Glorious Greatness is wonderful and amazing. ||2|| It was His job, and He has done it; what can the mere mortal being do? The devotees are adorned, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; they proclaim His eternal victory. Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, bliss wells up, and we are friends with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. He who made the effort to construct this sacred pool - how can his praises be recounted? The merits of the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, charity, good deeds and immaculate lifestyle, are found in this sacred pool. It is the natural way of the Lord and Master to purify sinners; Nanak takes the Support of the Word of the Shabad. ||3|| The treasure of virtue is my God, the Creator Lord; what Praises of Yours should I sing, O Lord? The prayer of the Saints is, ""O Lord and Master, please bless us with the supreme, sublime essence of Your Name."" Please, grant us Your Name, grant us this blessing, and do not forget us, even for an instant. Chant the Glorious Praises of the World-Lord, O my tongue; sing them forever, night and day. One who enshrines love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord, his mind and body are drenched with Ambrosial Nectar. Prays Nanak, my desires have been fulfilled; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Lord, I live. ||4||7||10| There is little we need to say about the hukumnama. Guru Maharajh says it all themselves. Having completed the path, the final ardas has been arranged for the 13th June at Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Wolverhampton. So please can you continue doing as many paath as you can till the final ardas. This however, is not the end, not by any means. This is merely the beginning. What we need to do now is step it up a notch. With Guru Ji’s kirpa, many of us have now spent time daily working/praying for the chardikala of the panth. We have seen that we CAN do something for the Panth. Now is the time to do more. Over the next few months we are hoping to launch a number of initiatives to do seva for the Panth, particularly those directly affected by 1984. We need your support, your ideas and your time to achieve this. So let us know what you think we should be doing over the next few months, already we have seen that Sikhs from around the globe can unite and work together, lets keep the momentum going. Please email us at info@chaupaisahib.org or use the Guestbook (http://www.chaupaisahib.org/index.php?option=com_phocaguestbook&view=phocaguestbook&id=1&Itemid=86) to give us your feedback, we want to hear from you. Lets not forget that while on one hand we are ‘celebrating’ the completion of the paath, we are doing so during the days that the armies of India were firing tank shells at the Akal Takhat Sahib. These are the days in which hundreds of mothers saw their sons fighting and dying bravely against commandos, while many others saw their beloved children executed around the blessed Darbar Sahib complex. These are the days that blood filled the sarovar the days in which Guru Granth Sahib Ji, parkash in Sri Harimandir Sahib was shot. We have attached a picture of Maharajh’s saroop and the bullet for you below. Take time to look at it. Take time to let the feelings sink in. We did these paath for the protection of the victims and the survivors of the Sikh Genocide, for justice to be delivered against the tyrants and rapists who terrorised innocent people and for the continuous chardikala of the Panth. Guru Ji himself has blessed us and will complete these tasks, but we must be prepared to do whatever seva comes our way in respect of these. We this in mind, we beg that each of us puts Guru Granth Sahib Ji first in our lives, then the Khalsa Panth and then .. all else. Please do not stop now and step back, let us carry on marching onwards, there is a lot to be done and it is only with the support of Gurbani and the sangat that we can achieve it. We have suffered too much, too many of our brothers have been tortured and murdered, too many of our sisters humiliated and raped, too many times have tyrants insulted burnt and thrown Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s saroops in the mud. There is no going back. Please continue to do as many Chaupai Sahibs as you can and Play your Part and Pray for the Panth. May the Khalsa Panth forever shine and fight against tyranny and injustice. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh
  18. The colour black represents protest and death and has been used by Sikhs on many occasions to protest against regimes and people. It was used by the babbar akali's protesting and fighting against the British and more recently it was used by Sikhs in Panjab protesting against ram raheem and the choota sauda sect. After the Indian Government killed 40+ sikhs in Kashmir in 2000, the sikhs again did a protest where they waved black flags through the streets. Sikhs in the UK also would wear black dastars and chunnis in the 80's on the 1984 marches. As such, singhs are preparing a couple of hundred black flags and are asking that sangat wear black dastars, chunnis, patka's, clothes etc to show our feelings about 1984 on the Hyde Park March this Sunday in London. Please ask all the sangat, parents etc to wear black. If not all black, then at least black dastar/chunni's. The singhs need at least 300 people dressed in all black to carry the black flags in a large group at the march. So please take part. If you can make your own as well that will be great! Please spread the word everywhere. 1984 was a STAIN on WORLD history. Darbar Sahib with its 4 doors is open to all people from all corners of the world. But the world turned its back. We need to remind them of this BLACK deed. Please wear black and explain its significance. (A flyer will be prepared for the day, but if anyone else wants to do one as well, please do!)
  19. Posters and letters have been sent to all the UK gurdware, but can sangat please print off the poster and stick it up whereever possible please!! Also if you are arranging transport from your area, let us know so we can spread the word!! This will be such a fantastic chance for the sangat to share in the chardikala of the panth! Please make sure everyone attends! Ps the target has been smashed and we still got nearly 10 days to go! Keep the paaths going!
  20. Maharajh has done beant beant kirpa! But please keep up doing as many chaupai sahibs as you can ... there is a LOT more to do yet ... more revelaed on the 13th!!
  21. Singhs are encouraging the wearing of black due to its historic relevance. The Sikhs when fighting and protesting against the British would wear black dastars. It is said that the british even banned the wearing of black dastar's as it was the sign of protest. The jathe that went on peaceful marches etc also wore black dastars. The singhs in 1984 and the singhs in kashmir after the shootings there in 2000 also waved black flags as a sign of 'ros' its like protesting and saying your a besharam for your actions. Our parents often wore black in the 80's on the marches as well, black turbans and chunni's etc. Singhs are making a few hundred black flags as well, and a leaflet explaning the concept is also being done. so should have a really good impact. Black is also widely seen as the colour of death and the western world see's it as the colour worn at funeral's etc. So impact wise it should be good! Please spread the word!
  22. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh With Guru Ji's beant beant kirpa we should have met our target for 1 million Chaupai Sahibs tomorrow! The details for the final ardas programme are as below. Please continue to do as much paath as you can and submit them! There’s no going back. Fathers, husbands and brothers butchered, mothers, wives and sisters raped. There’s no going back. The army marched into the sacred Parkarma of Darbar Sahib and dealt death and suffering. There’s no going back. Mobs rampaged, burnt and destroyed the lives of thousands in Delhi. There’s no going back. 25 years ago, the Sikh Panth decided ... there was no going back. It is for each of us to decide whether we stand strong and firm and step forward, or whether we fall and go back. Five months ago we started a small effort to do something for the glorious Khalsa Panth. We decided to turn to the feet of our father Guru Gobind Singh Ji and beg him and him alone to guide us in these days of darkness. We started off with an aim to complete 1,000,000 Chaupai Sahibs and with his blessing we are nearing the finale. Sikhs from more than 25 countries around the globe have taken part in this seva. We have had young children who have maybe never even heard the name of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji right through to elderly mothers and fathers who perhaps saw their own children march off to death, take part in this seva. The final ardas has been arranged for; 13th June 2009 Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Sedgley Street, Wolverhampton. Chaupai Sahib Jaap from 6am to 6pm and final ardas. Followed till midnight by kirtan, katha in English and Panjabi, Kaveshar and more. Additional events (9am to 5pm) • Throughout the day there will be a series of displays and exhibitions set up in marquees around the Gurdwara. • A chance to donate blood with the blood service at the Gurdwara Sahib • A cinema showing a number of 1984 related movies will be also be operating from around 9am (film schedule will be released closer to the date). • A special ‘Activists’ room will also be available to those of us who are serious about doing some seva for the Panth. We urge you to come and speak to us about ongoing seva and also to tell us what other seva is being done and exchange ideas with us. It’s not good enough to care about 1984, we have to stand up and do something about it. • 6 Bouncy castles and chips and beans for the kids. Everyone is invited to this event, whether you did 1 Chaupai Sahib’s, 1,000 Chaupai Sahib’s or even none at all. We ask that we all at least take part in the final ardas. Ask your Gurdwara about booking transport and bring as much sangat with you as you can. Can the International Sangat also try and arrange a final ardas programme in your countries. (It doesn’t have to be on the 13th if thats not possible), but please try and arrange one if you can. In the meantime please continue doing as many paath as you can. With Guru Ji’s beant kirpa we will pass the target this week but there is more to be done ... we will reveal more on the 13th. But rest assured, that we have more Gurbani to read ... lots more. Please also use the GUESTBOOK ( http://www.chaupaisahib.org/index.php?opti...1&Itemid=86 )on the website and let us know your thoughts about the whole Chaupai Sahib experience, what you learnt or gained from it etc. And also what else you think we should be doing, or what we should do next. We want to hear from you ... info@chaupaisahib.org !! So please come as early as possible to the event and take part, this is a chance to learn, discuss and share your ideas and feelings about the latest Sikh genocide. Bring your families and children, the Sikh genocide effected our entire community, so let’s support this as a community. Let’s show the world we still care and join in the ardas together, if you can’t attend for the entire day, at least be there from 5pm for the final hour of Chaupai Sahib’s and the ardas. The Indian Government thinks it’s over. Lets remind them it’s not. There’s no going back. Praying for the protection of the survivors, for justice against the tyrants and for the chardi kala of the panth. http://www.chaupaisahib.org Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharajh Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Play your Part, Pray for the Panth http://www.chaupaisahib.org
  23. Singh try and keep this on a sangat level, this isnt about who is arranging coaches etc thats what the elder generation did and killed off the movement. all they cared about was who's name was on which poster etc etc On the day as well, please can we keep the attention on the victims of genocide and not on our own jathebandi's! The jathebandi catwalk can talk place on some other day! With Guru ji's kirpa around 20 odd coaches came from the west mids (smethwick gurdwara sent 11 ) on the 20th anniversary, the singhs from there are gona have to top that now!
