  1. its like saying should amritdharee people not go outside, because microscopic creatures might be killed by the force of your foot! its pretty silly i know, but its in relation to the original post, if the other products havent come into contact with the vegetarian products, it should have no effect on the food! im vegetarian but not amrit shakiya, i made my own decision to be vegetarian and i would be just as distraught if i knew that the products i had been eating had come into some contact with food that it shouldnt have, but this isnt the case, i think you should be able to sleep easy at night!
  2. we are in the period of 'kaljugh' to be fair, there are many countries in the world with extremely poor human rights and people are being held for no reason across the world either for there religous or political beliefs - i think we should respect the fact that we are not the only religion that seems to be hard done by in terms of the amounts of people we have held in captivity (freedom fighters etc) but i agree that we must carry on fighting towards the freedom of innocent sikhs behind bars, but theres always 2 sides to every story.
  3. as i have said in a similar thread - they care more about world trade than anything else - its the harsh reality but if they can avoid 'small' situations and deal with the majority instead (people protesting about the famous shilpa shetty) then they can and will do so!
  4. its quite funny how we all sit on here and discuss the problems with islam and how what there doing is wrong etc (which i agree with) but hasnt it entered into your minds for one second that these are obviously not true muslims, just as we have people who claim to be in our religion that are fake, islam obviously has there problems with extremist groups etc that are trying to corrupt the religion. i feel that the programme didnt reflect the true face of islam and i support that viewpoint because if a documentary was made about the corruptions in sikhism, which are evident such as narankareehs, nihangs who eat meat etc then there would be sikh public outrage!!!! so why are those so called muslims any different from those so called nihangs that eat meat in our religion??!! ask yourself this question, which im sure many muslims are probably doing at this moment in time - these people claim to be part of there religion, whether it be nihangs (who eat meat) to sikhism or these extremists to islam, yet how can they be when they do not follow the religion as it should be followed?! think about it, we do not call people sikhs who do not follow the religion properly i.e. narakdharees, so what gives us the right to judge islam extremists as part of the islamic faith when they are clearly not as they do not follow there religion properly!!!! we shouldnt generalise the whole of islam as we do not expect people to generalise meat eating nihangs with the rest of sikhism, because it is simply a false organisation who are trying to corrupt the religion, as was shown in the documentary of corrupt so called 'islam' extremists trying to corrupt islam!!!!

    I've Messed Up

thanks for clearing that up, i ws pretty sure about the marriage thing but i didnt want to say it incase i looked like a spaz!
  6. how can people call the people in question sikhs? that is simply beyond me! my parents call me a sikh but i beg to differ as i honestly think a person is only part of a religion until they follow it properly! for that same reason i beg to differ with the fact that these people can be called sikhs because in simple terms, they are not!
  7. to put it into some perspective britains more worried about its world trade then 3 sikhs - harsh but true
  8. wow! you guys get worked up over silly little things like that?! theres more important things going on in the world than some <banned word filter activated> videos! id hate to see what some of you are like in normal debates, get a grip people! its a harmless video of someone clearly trying to provoke a reaction! the fact that we are sat here discussing it is appalling, focus on the real issues in life.
  9. "You are all right - humans are just humans. We are always gonna hurt people whether its intentional or not" totally agree, you never know a persons reasons for acting or saying certain things, they might hurt you out of love and/ or for ur benefit... "Really people only love people because they want to be loved back right?" unless im some weird exception, im going to have to disagree, if you really "love" ur family, frends, etc.. then u shudnt expect anything back b/c that feeling is only genuine if you cant help but feel that way despite what happens... that is the best and i think most truthful response i have heard so far. spot on!

judging on that analysis, it would be the end of the human race soon wouldnt it? if relationships arent allowed (from what im gathering from what your saying) then none of us would exist today?!

are you not allowed to have a relationship in the sikh religion??!! unless your pretty much perfect and dedicate your whole life to sikhi and become a santh or something of such a high nature, i cant understand why you cannot have a relationship so long as you keep on believing in the religion! thats my personal view, im not sure about the religous view on the whole matter.
  12. i dunno, im working on it
  13. yes, some very good responses which are much appreciated! i get a very extreme viewpoint when i ask such things from the people i ask around my area, but you lot seem to give a more sound understanding of the whole thing and i am very grateful for this. thanks :WW:
  14. yes i see where your all coming from in a sense! what happens to all the people who lead good lives, give to charity etc, do little wrong throughout there lives, but choose not to believe in god? do they go through all the lifetimes again as a result of this? i find it hard to come to terms with the fact that some people read paath everyday of their lives but some people say it will have little effect been as they still go out to the pub maybe to socialise with friends or have their hair cut etc?! to what extent do you agree with that point?! i can see it in one way that the person reading the gurbani is contradicting themselves as i do not think the gurbani agrees with them doing such things?! but then does that not make reading it pointless, unless you are a true follower e.g. amirt shakiya?! the one end goal is god and going to heaven and being one with god, but where religions differ in practise, seems to be the most confusing part - mainly because if one religion has no rules against e.g. drinking etc but one religion has 'rules' (i use the term loosely) against such things, arent the 2 in direct opposition to one another - from a neutral perspective, which do ytou choose?
  15. taking religions from their origin, every religion is pure (in my opinion) however, as we all know religion can be so easily corrupted but its easy for most people to tell the difference between reality and b*llsh*t! ive studied sikhism for relatively my whole life and in some ways have been indoctrinated by it all. i took amrit at age 8 and straight away found it difficult to cope with and ended up breaking my amrit, which i know of course is not good. however, the more i educated myself about the religion the more i semed to find out along the way, but now have put it aside for a moment to see the various views i can gather from other religions. in one sense i have no religion, i believe in god but it stops at that, there is no sub-sector, no religion at this moment in time, alhough i do kirtan sohila paath every night before i go to sleep! what im getting at is basically, how can you see right from wrong when there are so many different views in the world! everything ranging from whether or not to keep or cut hair or even how to pray, it all differs from religion to religion! my whole family being amritsharee in one sense can only give me one view, which of course is going to be biased towards sikhism, but who states which religion is better than the next?! i think its unfair and clearly cannot be justified whether one religion can offer something more to an individual than another religion can - my question being where does sikhi stand on this?! ive heard some people say it is the only way to get to heaven whereas when i ask other people with different beliefs they say that all ways are correct! judging on the latter of those statements would it be fair to say you can reach god through other channels of belief other than sikhi although the views and practise of religion is totally different i.e. christians drink wine in church etc, buddhists shave all body hair etc!
