  1. Yeah i watched the drama Britz, when it aired last year, was an eye opener.....but is that why this boy was detailed? This is truly horrifying..........to do that to a 16 yr old.....but is that INDEED why they are detaining him? They fear he is part of a terrorist organisation?

Was that the law enforced to detain him?

In the month of Phalgun, bliss comes to those, unto whom the Lord, the Friend, has been revealed. The Saints, the Lord's helpers, in their mercy, have united me with Him. My bed is beautiful, and I have all the comforts. I feel no sadness at all. My desires have been fulfilled - by great good fortune, I have obtained the Sovereign Lord as my Husband. Join with me, my sisters, and sing the songs of rejoicing and the Hymns of the Lord of the Universe. There is no other like the Lord - there is no equal to Him. He embellishes this world and the world hereafter, and He gives us our permanent home there. He rescues us from the world-ocean; never again do we have to run the cycle of reincarnation. I have only one tongue, but Your Glorious Virtues are beyond counting. Nanak is saved, falling at Your Feet. In Phalgun, praise Him continually; He has not even an iota of greed

In Phalgun, her mind is enraptured, pleased by the Love of her Beloved.

Night and day, she is enraptured, and her selfishness is gone.

Emotional attachment is eradicated from her mind, when it pleases Him; in His Mercy, He comes to my home.

I dress in various clothes, but without my Beloved, I shall not find a place in the Mansion of His Presence.

I have adorned myself with garlands of flowers, pearl necklaces, scented oils and silk robes.

O Nanak, the Guru has united me with Him. The soul-bride has found her Husband Lord, within the home of her own heart. ||16||

  5. In theory, all of the above

in reality.... guru granth sahib ji is

the entity i ignore, forget, and pretend doesn't exist when I've got *better* things to do

The entity that I can go hang out with and feel more bliss and peace, and yet more often than not choose to hang out with other people instead

The One i turn my back on each day whenever I treat someone poorly, commit what I feel is a misdeed or bad deed, and betray or wrong someone.

    And literally

guru granth sahib ji is a collection of love letters from entities far greater than I to their Creator... the teacher of Love, Compassion, Romance, Dignity, Respect, and Divine Spirituality. A collection of love letters that I can only hope to understand and be inspired by, so as to carry that same level of love and faith as some of the posters above, and the same love and faith as those great great beings who wrote them. Guru Granth Sahib Ji is my goal; my goal to be one with the written messages that are our Guru, to love unconditionally and without expectation not just the message, but each and every soul around me, with irrevokable innocence and unshakable faith. Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the embodiment of the love each of our Gurus and Blessed Bhagats have tried to instil within us, the source of Light that tries to help us recognize that each and every single atom on this earth is equal to the next because it's all been created by the same One...

    waheguru, that was beautiful :)

  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!

ON the way to work this morning, i was listening to Giani Thakur Singh Ji katha and They were saying that how each person should spend at least 10 minutes each day contemplating Who/What is Guru Granth Sahib Ji.....

And now this thread is born................ :D

Remember there is no right/wrong answer. We all have our own truths on Guru Granth Sahib Ji, think about what the question is asking and let ur heart find the words for your fingers to type....

I look forward to the responses.............

What is Guru Granth Sahib Ji?

    :)

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!

  7. You heart has already told you what you need to do.............listen to your inner voice..........the thing you are scared of is letting go............now he is part of your life i feel you cannot imagine your life without him...........this, rather than being love.......is actually a dependancy.........and not a very healthy one...........To truly love is to let go and and know that if you are meant to be together it is already written.........

Remember..............if you had a life before him..............you were happy.....content............why now can you not imagine you life without him?..............

is it realy Love you are feeling or simply an attachment to someone who showed you kindness, intimacy, which rose to awaken feelings, thoughts and desires that you had never experienced before.......and it is this you are more attached to.........the idea of being with someone..............being in love rather than actually being in love........

hope that helps.........being a bibi if you wish to PM me to discuss anything personal please feel free.....we are always here to help...... :)

i am also attempting to follow the gursikhi path with wahegurus kirpa..but i have a slight problem. my parents are not in favor for me to get into sikhi, esp when covering my head. i feel it is important to cover my head but i find it very hard at home. i am doing my ardas but i dont know what to do. my mum thinks it will be hard for me to get jobs and marriage etc. please help

lol i knw the feelings, my family freaked when i came home and started wearing a dastaar, i had all the usual, "why u waering that for?" blah blah, but intimatly, find a method that works for you, if i want start by wearing a patka at home, every other day, and explain to your partents why u feel so much pyaar towards sikhiand how Guru Ji preparing you to live a sikhi way of life :) i know this can be hard for families, but i used to show my mum YouTube videos of Singhniah in dastaars and playing gatka, i.e www.sikhnet.com and she never realy had anything to say.

Yeah like i was saying, begin by waering a patka a few days a weeks, or on weekends, then if u want to ties dastaar, start doing that and, dont worry, Guru Ji will take care of the rest, its just a test from Maharaj to see how much faith we have in Him. Guru is Hamesha Ang Sang and what always works for me is doing a chaupai sahib when trying my dastaar.

If you need anything else pehnj plz join the board and PM any of the singhniah here, we are always here to help. :)

  9. By the way, are kashereh ready made or do you have to get them made?

What do you class as a kashera? Is it a kashera because of the material, colour, length etc?

A kashera is like a loose pair of boxer shorts that normally come to just above the knees but with a nalla. If you are from the Brimingham area, Punjabi Roots Shop, by Smethwick gurdwara stock them, i normally ask relatives to pick me some up when they go India, but go punjabi roots if someoe i know is taking amrit.

They are normally made of cotton material and are white, although i have seen some where blue or black but white is the most common colour worn.

Untimatly a pair of "hotpants or tight shorts" would not be classed as a kashera bcos of the practical reason, especially men. Singhiah however do tend to wear less baggier kashereh because their legs are always covers where as Singhs normally where cholleh without pajamas so longer kashereh are more partical.

Also www.sikhishop.com stock keshereh incase u want to order some.

Again this isnt gospal, just some reccomendations, untimatly u will find a method that is most convenient for you.

    :)

  10. MOD NOTE: WARNING! Again this is a topic about how one should protect their arm hair and sangants experiences with various types of Karreh! NOT A CASTE SLANGING MATCH!!! This seriously brings down the quality of this forum. So please think before you post. This continuation of going off topic and taking threads that start off in good faith and bringing them down to a negative level will result in warnings issued. All off topic posts have therefore been removed. :)

  11. I also have a query,

I'm a bibi & Im keeping Rehit for the mean time before committing myself to guru ji & one issue Im slightly worried about is how do other penjis/bibis cope with kachere and the time of "monthly" cycles? I tried it once and found out I was "leaking" :S , so then I tried to wear normal underwear then kachera and I found it hard to change and have bath - HELP PLEASE ?? how can i solve this issue ? :(

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!!

First and foremost congratulations for walking that path of the double edges sword...... :)

lol this is a tricky issue and im posting this publicly simply becasue im sure there are many bibiah who have this problem and are shy to ask the question so heres a method, but ultimatly, you will find a way that comfortable for you. :)

Firstly most bibiah wear normal underwear under kashera during that time of the month. This is fine as you can still use sanitary towels. NOw with specifally with the ishaan time, before you get into the shower, prepar your underwear (with sanitory towel attached) BEFORE you get into the shower.

Shower like you would do normally, and when u take one leg out of your wet kashera, dry off that leg, place ur underwear on first on that leg, then your kashera, on that leg, so that ur kashera back in contact with ur body. I find this easlier by rest my leg on the side of the bath. Place your other leg though your underwear, followed by the kashera, then "straighten" everything up and tie ur kashera as normal. :)

Or where you are at the beggining or end of your cycle where the menstrual flow is not so heavy, once you has washed urself, just put on kashera as you would do normally, and quicky come out of bath and when you are in your bedroom, put underwear on by dropping kashera to ankles and putting underwear on, one leg at a time and your sorted. :)

Hope that helps, if you have any other questions please join the board and PM myself or any of the other Singhniah here. We are all here to help.

    Keep in chardi kalah

    :)
