  1. I could see that coming anytime soon, infact, this is the reason that I have been getting all along, but do you understand my point. I am not saying anything about respecting shastar but the shastar pujja, while we are against any idol worship and supposed to have full faith in Gurbani (doesn't shastaran pujja falls under Idol worshipping).
  2. Veerji, the tuk that you have up there just states that shastar are our adorable seniors, but why we need to bow to them, giving respect to seniors is one thing but putting them to a higher status as Guru is another... :umm: Bhul chuk maaf
  3. Ok guys, don't bash me for this one, but I have spoken to numerous but I guess, never been able to understand the whole concept and importance of shatar in sikhi. Don't get me wrong in here, I value each and every bit in Sikhi but just don't get the idea of bowing to anything other than Gurbani :sady:

  5. I ain't sure if I know what you are trying to ask, by punjab getting in Iraq / Afghanistan like situation, u mean the internal conflicts in punjab or something like Amrika just barging in there and trying to teach them how to run a country. If you can clarify this, it would be great. and as far as the comparison of (Shia vs. Sunni) and Sikhi goes, the only comparison I see is Naamdharis n Sikhs, and that also is in terms of spiritual. If I am not wrong Sunni's believe that Prophet Muhammad's position taken by his companions, that the new leader should be elected from among those people and Shia's choose to go by Quran n follow a line of Imams. In the same way, Naamdhari's agree in the authority of a living guru and Sikhs have their faith in the eternal Guru; Guru Granth Sahib. :umm: dunno why I end up writing all that I bet it probably ain't even what u asking So about the fault lines, Apne log don't need no one else to fight with, we are doing real good at fighting with ourselves.
  6. I know what you are saying and I am sure many of us have had to think about this issue at some point in time. But you have to remember that the True Guru has always been the Shabad Guru, gurbani is the menifestation of the Akal purakh. Wah Wah Bani Nirankar hai, Tis jevad avar na koi: Wonderful are the words, which denote the Supreme God, there is none as great as Him. Gurbani is the pillar on which Sikhi is based upon: Bana, Bani, Seva and Simran - I believe that in this learning process, you have to go through stages of sunna (to listen), karna (to do), and samajhna( to understand). So if you look at it this way, even if you are listening to Bani, you are on the way and if you are doing it, well, the way I see it you are half way there. :TH: Understand Gurbani isn't easy as going to school and reading books but with akal purakh's Bakshish you eventually get to that point. P.s- I believe benji is rt about your signatures, you should review what you have there, you have to have faith to be able to do anything, be it the outter world or your inner self. WJKK WJKF
  7. lol..thats true man...they take cricket way too seriously its just a game I am not too sure if I agree with that statement, I've always learned that if you do something it ain't worth it if you lack passion. If you are Guru's Sikh and follow panth khalsa, you gotta have passion for it to work out and I think in the same way playing or following a game without any interest or passion is just useless. lol.. I get the vibe that ya'll hate cricket, I ain't a big fan myself but it isn't fair to diss the sport just coz some pakis or indians go nuts when their teams win. As far as I remember, last yr, soccer Cup....I bet most of u guys in here were following each n every bit of it, those madd Italians were all over the place n things did go bad with frekkin "we we" monsieurs....
