Sat Sri Akal, Just wanted to remind the sangat of Guru Ji's message to all of us regarding purpose of this priceless human life. Gurbani is telling us to realise our origin - our soul - and if we fail to realise it before physical death, we remain in reincarnations, we continue to go through the pains of birth and death, until we reunite with our origin. Each and everyone of us are journey to find him. We will eventually, whether in 3 months or 300 lifetimes, it depends on how much effort we make to bring the guru's wisdom in our hearts and put them into practise, it depends on how much we surrender to God, it depends on how much unconditional love, faith, trust we hav…

Ekonkaar Satnaam - One God truth is his name, One Religion - To serve him in all, to walk away from the selfish mind and practise Guru's wisdom, to walk away from negative qualities One Race - There is no difference between Sikhs, Hindu, Muslims, Christians, Dogs, Cat, Plants, Trees and everything in this universe! Why? Because all is one. The sense of so called "SELF", "ME" is just a smoke and the only thing that exists on this universe is "Ekonkaar Satnaam". If all is one, there remains no me or you, its all him. Lets see him in all, love him in all, serve him in all. Such a being is considered to be a true disciple of God. One teaching - To love all and where there …

The removal of Giani Mohan Singh as additional head granthi of the Golden Temple, who was not getting any salary from the SGPC for over five years, has come as surprise in Panthic circles. In the past decade several Sikh high priests, installed amid fanfare, were removed by the SGPC on one pretext or the other. Bhai Ranjit Singh, appointed Jathedar, Akal Takht, when he was in jail in connection with the killing of Nirankari chief Baba Gurbachan Singh, was removed in 1999 when preparations for tercentenary celebrations of the birth of Khalsa Panth were on. For the first time in the history of Akal Takht a Jathedar was suspended by the SGPC executive committee and later s…

Around 200,000 of the coins have rocketed in value after the manufacturer admitted it had forgotten to put a date on them. They are worth £50 if immediately returned, but are set to rise even further in value because of their rarity. Nick Hart, of the London Mint, said: "If you hunt around and find one you're extremely lucky. "Mistakes like this not only fascinate people but also have considerable value-increase significance." Workers at the mint have been left with their tails between their legs after leaving the date stamp off the heads side of the coins. The error occurred amid the production of a newly-designed 20p piece. The mint has issued a recall both to rem…

Elections at a Gurdwara usually go hand in hand with squabbles and violence between opposite parties, it has got so bad that its not surprising anymore, its almost considered a norm to have Gurdwareh filled with police during elections. What i wanted to know is how the running of Gurdwareh in the west work does. What exactly do the people elected do, what are there role? How are they chosen into the committees? If it’s through a voting system then why is it kept quite? E.g. what each indivdual running intends to do with there role in the committee? What is the gurmat way of running a Gurdwara, how where gurdwareh run in the old days? How where they run during the …

I have made bold a certain part of the text, check it out... The Seeks And Their College At Patna By Sir Charles Wilkins (1781) I found the College1 of the Seeks, situated in one of the narrow streets of Patna, at no very considerable distance from the Custom-house. I was permitted to enter the outward gate, but, as soon as I came to the steps which led into the Chapel, or public-hall, I was civilly accosted by two of the Society. I asked them if I might ascend into the hall. They said it was a place of worship open to me and to all men; but at the same time, intimated that I must take off my shoes. As I consider this ceremony in the same light as uncovering my head u…
