Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! No Jee. It will be a weekly e-zine much like Time.com, cnn.com and others. We have plans in place to create an RSS feed, connect to the forum for discussion as is currently done, email edition, print edition, radio, and in the long term perhaps even a television broadcast. These have always been the long term goals of the W!NNews. Waheguroo! Network has had some ambitious goals, as you could see through our experiments in news, radio, tv. The main problem we have always had is funding and mainly sevadars. The key differences between W!NNews and Panthic Weekly are that unlike the current news, Panthic Weekly will actually be written by our staff, including news, columns and editorials as well as reader mail. Also, Panthic Weekly will only be updated on a Weekly basis unless there is breaking news. We are seeking sevadars who can spend an hour or two a week doing seva for us. There is a hukam from the Rehit naamas which goes like this: Surma Aaadik Shinghar Naaeh, Nahin Par Trea Rangi. If we are advised to stay away from any temporary makeup, how do we think parmanent tatoos are allowed and permitted in Sikhi? Khalsa Jeeo, our Guru Sahibs have clearly adviced us to imbue ourselves in the 'sacha rang' of Guru Pitta Ji's prem. So why is it that we want to go after the kooRh? The admins of this forum usually tend to stay out of any discussions unless they turn into arguments, but this time we felt that since this is a YOUTH based forum, we should make our suggestions heard. Getting a tatoo imprinted on your skin might seem like a small thing, but even a small tatoo will stay on your body forever. So before you make any decision about getting a tatoo, please do think twice. Getting a tatoo is only one step, but it might lead to getting your hair removed from the particular skin area with the tatoo so it could be displayed properly. As Sikhs of Guru Nanak, we need to be proud of our history, traditions and the teachings of Guru Sahibs. We need to be proud of Gurbani, our Gursikhi rehit maryada and Baana. We have just spoken with the company (cafepress.com) and they have basically said that their policy "allows for religious satire (ie christian satire) and religious things as long as they are not hate speech." We have told them that to us this is EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE and is HATE SPEECH. Basically they said this shop owner doesn't seem to be purposefully engaged in hateful speech. We told them that the wording under the product is also offensive due to the fact that pre-marital sex is against our religion. We told them that an email campaign is already underway and that other Sikh organizations will be contacting them via phone, email and fax if they do not remove it. And we also mentioned as a last resort organizations such as Sikh Coalition will be contacted if legal recourse should be necessary. At first he seemed stubborn, but after mentioning the last point he said he will look into it further today and speak with others in his department on the matter. We will see what happens today. If it isn't removed we can start a campaign. --Daasre

Network and the sevadars of saintsoldiers but rather due to personal issues between sevadars of saintsoldiers and others and also personal issues of the sevadars of saintsoldiers. We want to make it clear that we fully supported saintsoldiers.net and would have wished them to continue their seva. Whoever has done this is truely a heartless fiend. Such an act of cowardice and malice is dispicable. We just want to officially apologize to any sangat that may have seen it and put out a benti for any information on this. We are going to try to get the FBI involved and are currently collecting evidence. This is a very sad incident. We have re-secured our server and rotated our passwords. --Daasre

We have also noticed a lot of problems with posts. The main problem--most likely the only problem--is that people are including the line saying "This Shabad is by Guru ..." When this line is copy pasted in, you will end up with this: If you are careful to NOT copy and paste the "This Shabad is by" line, then your results will be correct, like this : --Daasre

Guru Pyare Sadh Sangat Jeo, We want to thank everyone who watched the broadcast and especially those sevadars from India who gave us the chance to serve the sangat by hosting this broadcast. As all of you watched on the broadcast, it was very inspirational to see so many Singhs and Kaurs dressed up in Guru Gobind Singh Ji's gurmukhi Baana perform for all of us. The schedule for the second day will be same as the first day, and if the sevadars want to hold it for longer we will be more than happy to provide them with the server. When the planning was being done for the broadcast we had only planned to broadcast it for about 8 to 10 hours because in those days we were not a strong financial standing but our sangat got us out of the debts that we had owed to our hosting company and for that reason we let the sevadars run the broadcast for as long as they had requested. Sangat's donations are always essential in running projects like this and since in past all of you have helped us out everytime we asked, we promise that in future too we will try to bring you many new and exciting projects. And as for today, the Malaysia Singhs and Kaurs turned out 'Bhaaree' over the Indian teams! It seems our hard drive had crashed and due to the fact that it is thanksgiving weekend in the United States, it was extremely hard to get tech support. We hope it has not caused any inconvenience to sangat. We have been trying to get it up since we first found out about it. Hopefully there wont be any more problems. We think this may stem from the fact that we were trying to get a new hard drive installed because our server capacity is full. --Daasre

We had almost a year's worth of hosting to pay off--and we did, thanks to the sangat. :wub: We're really grateful and taken aback by the generous donations that we've received... Thank you to everyone whose donated. :TH: All of our 'debt' is therefore settled, however, our monthly server cost is still $220, and we do have other costs as well related to domain names, live broadcasts and other sevaas. We have thought of things, but the thing is sevadars are so busy with all the sites that we just dont worry about money until it becomes an issue. We don't want to be about money, this is one reason we dont have any information on money as guru sahib provides us with it when we need it. If we turn our attention towards collecting money, keeping others informed about money etc, we will be turning away from doing other things which we already have limited time for. We will try to implement it if we can. Regarding paypal, starting a few months ago, you no longer need to register to send money. Anyone can send money. --Daasre

Sadh Sangat Jeeo, Over the last month or so we have had thousands upon thousands of attempts at hacking our server (from certain ip addresses in europe and canada). I felt its time to make a statement on this issue. The fact is, whoever you are, you will never be able to guess our passwords due to the fact that we were hacked previously and since then have created ridiculously random passwords with many letters and numbers. So, since it is annoying to receive reports on authentication failures every 6 hours, here is an ultimatum: STOP IMMEDIATELY or the following will happen when we receive the next report: 1) We will report all ip addresses, dates, times, usernames, and false passwords to the FBI. 2) If you still do not cease and desist, YOU will be hacked. Be forewarned. Anybody who spends hours upon hours trying to hack a server run by students for seva has a serious problem.
