Thanks pajeee.. This is what i heard.. LA Sheriff Department said.. "They are open to enroll amritdhari sikh anytime." So that means this is the only police department all around the United States who are willing to accept police officers in turban, dhari roop. So that was about an year ago, and now about 6 months ago, a singh visited our gurdwara and he was talking that we couldn't find a single amritdhari sikh in LA who would like to take the job as police officer and stuff.. Well don't know if someone did went for the job or not.. Heard nothing so far.. Maybe the whole thing was rumor

gorayyy they hate seeing minorities leading in all fields.. so they wanna hurt them in some way.. so this is their way and which sux..

That was the huge news few months ago.. or even one full year agoo.. but What the heck happened afterwards??? Do we have apna singh full amritdhari in their force training session??? IF not then that's very shame on us.... Any Info?? I would really love to hear what's up on this issue..

if we are talking about kuriyan inter-religious marriages then what about other movies?? gadar? hollywood bollywood? Even Bend it like beckham?? and so on.. YUP YUP Grisht jewan is MUST in sikhi.. It keeps the balance of nature... Our ten gurus led grisht jewan rite.. so aren't we suppose to follow them? the gursikhs who neva got married, like bhai rama singh.. that's their personal choice ! and i respect the personal choice

BUT there's nothing wrong in helping needy.. like this topic heading "feeding homeless". but i think we should start it within our house (community).. Personally, when u give financial sewa, don't think you are giving it to gurdwara management, *Think* you are giving it to gurusahib and it's on gurusahib jee on however he wants to use that money.. but i won't encourage you to keep giving the daswandth to the gurdwara without knowing where it's going.... do like this.. " Self Support the local sikh youth camps, youth darbars etc" like purchase stuff for them etcc.. Also i believe Daswanth doesn't necessary means in the form of $$ .. one can pay the daswanth by doing physical labor for sikh places too .. like cleaning the restrooms which no-one do
