Rochak veer'z ideas are fantastic and i will add something in those....in my case.. if somebody intentionally call me this to make fun of me.....main kad lehna danda!!!.. and if someone says in a very ignorant way...i say..oye akal nahi tenu..
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I dont know why sikhnet guys are so adamant.....i have put one of my post here...with heading " An apology from Istanbul airport head" with the draft which we got from turkish consulate through an email. And i tried to put the same post on sikhnet also, those guys didnt do that... 1) they said..i need to mention URL for that draft 2) It should be in the same thread ..which is 50-60 messages below I argued with them, that am i getting some monetry benefits out of that post, i just want that sangat should know what we have achieved and in future ppl should come forward if they face the same situtation. And i dont think that anybody will go 60 messages down to look, if that thread has any new posting. They allowed me for new thread but asked me the URL and all the details about the persons involved without understanding that it is a draft for an email and i cant give much details. If i want to give all the details and names, i would prefer a newspaper..i guess
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! With Waheguru'z kirpa, we have succeeded in getting an apology from Turkish Airport Authority for the their ignorant and disrespectful attitude towards Sikh turbon. And Futher try is on to meet with the Minister of Tourism, Turkey or other officials to make them aware about the sikhism. We have achieved this with help of Hari Singh veer ji, who is the coordinator of Sikh Action Group, UK and whose efforts and dedication for the panth is highly commendable and i'm really thankful to him. I'm thankful to sadh sangat also for their constant support and interest which always encouraged me to strive for this achievement. Following is the draft we got from Turkish Tourist Authority: "We as a recognized Turkish Tourist Authority recognize the rights of all individuals to a private search facility if they require it and can assure you that this is the accept policy of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. We can confirm that any person who enters Turkey will have their personal rights respected at all airports and that Turkey is keen to encourage peoples of all religions to visit our nation. People wearing turbans will not be forced to remove these in public if they do not want to and that a separate private room is provided for these types of circumstances. I, on behalf of the head of Istanbul Airport apologies if your community member has not been treated in the correct manner and we will make sure that the relevant member of staff is updated with the correct procedure that should have been used." das, Vaneet Singh

  7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I just got the following link, giving the history, what exactly is behind 12'o clock fame sikhs have got. I'm sure very few know this, but are at forefront in making fun of sikhs. http://www.financialexpress.com/ie/daily/1...5/00550854.html Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Yeah, i have already forwarded my post to SMART and unitedsikhorganisation, but i guess Balwinder veer ji has a point that, we have to do something to rise the awareness globally not just for turkish airlines. I'm trying to contact some of people, who can help us to reach embassies and airports, if somebody else can help us in that, please come forward. Regards Vaneet Singh
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Thanx to Guru Maharaj, who gave us strength to start this new venture, which is just awesome... I hope to join you all today evening. May Waheguru give us strength to carry on with this mission. Regards Vaneet Singh

  11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Dear Harjagjeet ji I can imagine, your feelings at that time, and i agree that we have to do something concrete about this. Balwinder veer ji has been kind enough and have came out with idea, of making some paperwork about the sikhism and that should be forwarded to embassies and international airports. If u have some suggestion to it or u can help us in this or u have some other idea, please put forward as this matter has to be resolved. And i have already posted my experience to SMART and Unitedsikhorgainsation. Regards Vaneet Singh
  12. Waheguru ji da khalsa waheguru ji da fateh I'm a student working on my masters in US, i went back to india in mid november by Turkish Airlines, via Istanbul, while the time of boarding, the Turkish police officals asked me to remove my turbon, I resisted to that and requested and tried to convince them that i have my pic with a turbon on my passport and i'm coming from US, those ppl havent asked me for this thing ever since i'm in US. But my efforts couldnt borne any fruits, i felt really bad, and sad that even in the presence of so many indians along me, none of them had courage to come in support of me. It would be great if the concern and efforts we are putting to preserve our identities in France, could be forwarded to contries like Turkey also. GurFateh.... Vaneet singh
