  1. this caste stuff is a joke. i agree with the above few posts. What do all rehatnamas and panj pyares tell us? if you follow a caste after taking amrit you are a joke! guru sahib tells us QUITE CLEARLY: FROM THIS MOMENT ON, YOUR FAMILY IS THE KHALSA!!! guru sahib tell us in the amrit sanchar that such affiliations are worthless and pointless. anyway, my mama jee had one of those genetic tracking things done, we have blood in us from russia and all sorts of places. None of us really indian anyway. Thats why we dont look like south indians. Most of us are mixed with a huge amount of aryan blood. this jaat paat of "sikhs" (actually punjabis) is something that came about in the recent past. its a joke.
  2. I agree, santhiya is very important. Also, anad should always be pronounced anand as there is no word in existence as "anad" same as shabad, there is no such word as sabad, so we pronounce it correctly as shabad. Bhai kulbir singh jee wrote a huge post on pronunciations of anad awhile back on tapoban.org. Very informative.
  3. its a tulip!! a FLOWER NOT SHASTARS just because they look similar doesnt mean they have anything to do with each other... another example would be the wheel on indias flag.. it looks exactly like the wagon wheels used on the oregon trail.. does that mean all the migrants to california in the 1800s came from india? its a ridiculous association.
  4. Nobody can/should identify themselves as a jatt and a sikh, you can only be one or the other. Theres more than enough bani to support this. "Jatt Sikh" is an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Some would even argue one of guru sahibs main objectives on this earth was to abolish the caste system and here we are using it like idiots.
  5. it may look like a khanda, but i dont think it is a khanda.
  6. getae, sorry if u feel you are being attacked, but many times we have had trouble makers sign up with fake names and start controversy in order to attack panthic figures and ideals. What we are posting in opposition to you is panthic norms. I dont know where or how you learned your sikhi, but it seems wherever you learned from, slightly misguided you and misinterpreted a number of things. sikhi is about a lot of things that you cannot seem to grasp. Sikh is *not* about rules for the sake of rules. it is very different than other relgions on this point, and this is why a lot of people who are influenced by other religions and western views cannot grasp sikhi to its full extent. I couldnt understand it even a few years ago. I used to attack people who thought the way I do now. But finally guru sahib showed me the way, and everything I do has a logical reason behind it. I can explain most of it. But frankly, on stupid issues like meat and dancing, I am tired of discussing it again and again and attacking it again and again. I could easily debate anyone on it, but what is the point? I am tired, im fed up, frankly ive had enough. If you truly do want to learn and are not here to start controversy, let me know, I will start pulling out old notes and look over them for you. Sikhi has the number one aim of reaching guru sahib through naam simran. That is the number one aim. Joining with god, becoming one with god in what is known as sachkhand, a concept that no other religion has. Now, guru sahib has told us, that there is an EASY path to get there, and then there are a lot of other paths with twists and turns. Nobody wants to follow the SIMPLE, EASY pat h because our stupid mind sees it as no fun and hard and all these other things. But when you actually focus on it, its SO EASY. and the rest of the world seems so ridiculous you just want to laugh. Gaining spiritual enlightenment and ecstacy and going into a spiritual trance of ambrosial nectar is something that is extremely simple. but in order to do it you need to do a few things. Dancing is NOT accepted by almost every panthic gursikh who has any sort of avastha or jeevan. Same with meat. There are very few who have accepted it. Please understand where I/we are coming from. Not long ago, i myself did not even beleive in god, then slowly i started to get into sikhi, I thought who are these stupid extremists with these insane views about things. But slowly, with logical reasoning and science, I realized gurmat is all about those things and slowly, I was given the budhi (intelligence) to understand these things and why they should/should not be done.
  7. jaspreet bhenji, its called beadbi (disrespect).. wouldnt u be outraged if say the rss has a khanda on their site?
  8. Something I wrote on my blog recently:
  9. again very suspicious postings.. im starting to smell nangs... maybe im just paranoid..
  10. immortal singh, I am truly disgusted. Do you have any grasp on the actual meanings of these words? have you ever just zoned out listneing to gurbani or doing naam simran? only then can u truly understand what it means to DANCE WITH YOUR MIND... these have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the topic at hand!!! ALSO, I am highly suspicious of the fact that someone new (getae) all of a sudden signs up with what sounds like a fake name (jason sim) and all of a sudden starts posting controversial topics almost immediately. Using false claims and evidence, without answering anything that has come back at him.. hmm where have I seen such tactics before...
  11. lol, this is a pretty funny thread. I suggest for a REAL debate on this issue, DO A SEARCH. We have had real knowledgable gursikhs put forth their views on this forum and you will learn a lot. For one thing, meat eating is condemned in gurbani many times. I suggest you do a search. Meat was never served in langar. Nor did guru nanak dev jee ever serve meat. Fact is, there isnt a shred of historical evidence to prove it. The fact that guru Hargobind Sahib wrote Maas Machee De Nere Nahi Avana in the letterhead OF EVERY HUKAMNAMA HE EVER WROTE, proves its wrong. Thats MORE THAN enough for me. Meat food will seriously destroy your bhagti and any good karams you may have had. Regarding naam simran, simranjot singh, you seem to have a strange view here. Even today many many gursikhs exist who will get through tough circumstances with naam abhyaas. I know of many myself. It's not very hard, and it doesnt require any sort of high avastha. Fact is, just by taking amrit, you have increased your avastha to a point that naam abhyaas should ALWAYS have an effect on you, unless you do not regularly practice it or do nitnem or have committed kuraits.. even THEN it should have an effect on you. Its not hard to go hungry for some time. I mean as a sarbloh bibeki, I almost never have food when I go to school. I just eat a bowl of dal and some nuts in the morning and didnt get any food until like midnight sometimes. So what? big deal. Im no gursikh, ask anyone you know. Sikhi is more important than trivial things like eating.
  12. wow, i just had this great discussion on sikhism with some new relatives of mine, one of whom is a mona. He was telling me how so many people confuse sikhi and punjabi culture and try to make the two happen at the same time. He said its just not possible. You either do one or the other. I was really impressed at how knowledgable he was. He was saying how most people are into this bhangra stuff and dancing and that one cant be a Sikh while getting into this. I have always said this. Much of punjabi culture today directly contradicts everything that Sikhi stands for. Ryu, we all know your views of how gurbani is not supreme to you, we accept that. But for those of us who think bani is supreme, we know that guru sahib says dancing is a man ka chao and not something the soul would enjoy. I suggest you actually study gurbani more and then you will understand it is the be all and end all of everything. As guru sahib has said, its jugo jug attal.
  13. lets not confuse the Sikh Times UK with teh SICK times of boston.
  14. Singho, meat is never acceptable. As Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee has stated. Not even in a JANG!! Did Baba Jarnail Singh Jee and Bhai Sukhdev Singh Jee, both naam abhyaasi kamahee wale gursikhs resort to eating meat when in hiding or when fighting? Never. We should live by their example. Meat is a bujjar kurait. To say that it is ok at a time of war, would be saying it is also ok to cut your hair for such a time (yes there are people that beleive this) or even more ridiculous, it is ok to get drunk, or ok to smoke, ok to have sex (your going to die anyway, why not enjoy your last minutes?). These are all ridiculous notions. Think about this logically.
  15. this discussion has come up so many times, and everytime it is disproven. dancing is against gurmat, im so tired of writing about it. would bhai jeevan singh dance? how about baba jarnail singh? guru sahib clearly tell us that dancing is a man ka chao, its a happiness of the mind, but not true enjoyment. yes we are here to have fun, but you are too blind to see that dancing in such manmat ways is not fun but painful to your soul. heres a post from another thread 2 years ago or something (http://forums.waheguroo.com/index.ppa?act=ST&f=2&t=915):
  16. oh wow.. i remember when i used to watch mtv all the time.. wow.. long time ago.. it is the NUMBER ONE way to get LOTS of KAAM FAST! stay away from it singho!
  17. I really hope you dont feel that way veer jee. If you have view points I have always been interested in hearing them, but I also do tend to have a big mouth. I dont think we have really ever had any MAJOR dissagreements which have caused people to hate the site though? (except for nangs)
  18. Robbie Singh Jee, I would like to know how these are anti sikh thoughts? nobody has said that you HAVE to talk to or worship ghosts. But even guru sahib has said that ghosts exist many times and I beleive I have seen some sakhis to the effect of guru sahib talking to ghosts. I know of many gursikhs who have seen ghosts or helped ghosts in some way. But what is anti gurmat about this? also, shaheed singhs, they are like our angels. This is 100% gurmat. shaheed singhs are with all gursikhs and protect gursikhs in times of need. I have NEVER heard anyone call this anti gurmat and to say its against sikhi would be like saying that christians dont beleive in angels!
  19. this is a great post. I have always wanted to see something written out like this. Unfortunately I have seen this happen many times and always feel bad for people, even when I have tried to warn them in the beginning.
  20. but please, do not follow him to the letter, a lot of things he says will mess up your avastha. He is not a great example of a gursikh and a lot of things he has said are against gurmat. As I have posted before one time I tried one of his techniques and all it did was lead to confusion and problems.
  21. "dating" even in such a circumstance is still somewhat shady. Even then, it is not 100% that you will be married, and also, its just not appropriate for gursikhs. an alternative is to spend time together with your families etc.. I am not saying dont get to know each other, but just dont act as if you are already married.
  22. man that is bad, i woulda smacked that chittar one!!! his name sure does suit him <_<
  23. extreme manmat. admin note: nanaksar is a respectable jatha of the panth no attack any panthic jatha will be allowed btw, the nanaksar near my house lets women do keertan so, this is just a warning no attacks on any jatha, keep it clean -13
