  1. like urself i dont know much about giani ram singh, but Ajnala is a true activist who puts himself in the firing line and stands up against unjustice.. he has support amongst the upcoming youth in punjab also. there are a lot of people outside of india saying they would like him to take over... not likely in reality unless he has the financial might to make a difference... up to all the voices of support for him to back him financially the same way singhs supported santji in the 80's.. unfortunately us lot in the west spend much time on forums blowing hot air but when it comes doing what is required the most from we dont come up with the goods ($'s)
  2. apparently so, normally it doesn't need hosp treatment but instead a healthier diet and lifestyle but this is a VIP agent of GOI we're talking about so nothing but the best!! lol Quality! on serious note when did the taksal go to sleep and let these vultures take over.. if its all about money why doesnt the diaspora conspire with someone like ajnala to take it back. I'm sure theres plenty of folk in UK and North America that would happily send over the cash needed to buy back influence within taksal and other groups.. its not like other then a few sold out leaders are making everyone else below them rich.
  3. the real jathedars are the hindutva forces whoever rule over GOI, even badal is their puppet unfortunately the leadership of all major sikh institutions in Punjab and of the Takhts is now in RSS hands The over fed lump has got gout
  4. Apparently it was a hoax and he never made comments to this affect... sounds reasonable to me as there is nothing concrete from anywhere other then a few tabloid type "sikh news" websites that are known to publish as much fictional/gossip stories as factual stories. ps please can I request we all sub the title 'bhai' with 'puppet' when referring to the clown Dhumma, the mans an insult to the Taksal.
  5. agreed! The most sensible comment ive read of urs. Where there is no clear mention by guru sahibs we have to use precedents.. Guru sahib hasn't left any clear evidence in support of or against homosexuals so we shouldn't try speak for them and condemn homosexuals. we are equals. There is certainly no mention of maharaj blessing a homosexual union so sikhs cannot utilise sggs in any sort of a ceremony to do this either. If anyone tries im sure they will meet with the sharp edge of a kirpan! My view - sexual orientation (whichever way) is a natural impulse as are most of ours desires. But like any of our primitive/karnal desires we can suppress them if they don't take us closer to/or create barriers between our end goal. Sikhs should accept gays the same as heteros but should reject any anti gurmat practice just as they should with heteros (unfortunately we don't bash our mates as much for getting it on with their opposite sex gf/bf before marriage). truth is I pity homosexuals (not that they want my pity), most unfortunately probably lead a difficult and challenging existence because of the ignorance of man and their inability to accept Wahegurus bhana. A new sect wouldn't be needed as any true gurmukh would treat homos/heteros exactly the same.
  6. Does anyone other then a minority of 'Christians'that go church on xmas eve even really celebrate the birth of christ? Most of the world just use it as an excuse to get together with family at one of the few common holidays, eat til they feel sick and show affection to each other by giving gifts. Jesus or anything religious has little to do with xmas anymore. There are far worse problems affecting our kaum/humanity then ↑ In the west I would prioritise each of the below over the xmas 'problem': - Lack of funding for real parchar from gurughars - lack of engagement/cooperation between sikh groups/jathe - increasing promiscuity amongst 'sikh' youth - lack of/poor qlty sikh education institutions - not enough social justice drives at issues affecting non-sikhs - lack of say on where gurughars spend our dasvandh - too many gurdware in cities (dividing sikhs) - granthis lacking skills/knowledge/facilties to advise sangat on personal difficulties - lack of a forum where sikhs can create a common agenda then focus our efforts to attack those so to make some actual progress - not an exhaustive list I could probably paste this into most topics on this website.. folks shy away from dealing with the big problems and keep bickering over petty ones.
  7. The whole point of this is to take back control from the occupiers and hand back to the kaum.Nobody stands for the role, the kaum select them that is why this method worked in puratan times, those the kaum deem worthy are told to do the seva of acting judiciary. We have no recent example hence why nobody can visualise the process. If u dont believe there are gurmukhs worthy of this role or the kaum have the ability to select correctly that's fine you are entitled to this opinion.
  8. Akaal Takht must reign supreme.. it was ordained as the court of the sikhs by one that we can't challenge.. instead of fracturing sikhs further why not the whole panth give the current leaders a vote of zero confidence and select new leaders with qualities of the five beloved ones via a sarbhat khalsa?
  9. I consider myself least qualified to select, however since u ask there are two gurmukhs i do have high respect for these are bhai hardev singh lulonwale (daya) and bhai sukha singh uk (himmat), I feel they are representative of large parts of the kaum in that there is universal respect for them and their gian and I dont think there are any questions of their jeevan or motives. They certainly have the qualities ive bracketed. Maybe you can suggest another 3-5 gurmukhs that are suitable and or complementary? My sangat of gurmukhs is limited and accept there are better qualified gurmukhs out there to make the selection and would accept the decision of the panth. I think ive made the points I wanted to, maybe not the right solution (I feel under the current conditions it maybe the best) and im not hearing many other ways in which to seriously challenge the hindutva control over sikhs, but its atleast food for thought.. Lets pray for a solution to break the chains of gulami placed around our siblings in india... then pray sikhs can unite to support it!
  10. not quite the same as what I've suggested.. I dont feel we need an additional takht for the western world.. we're by an large free to practice our faith anyway we want and don't really need another takt. Any issues we have over here are petty and cannot be compared to the oppression in india. freeing the takts in india is the need of the day, our brothers and sisters over there are under attack.. this wouldn't be a physical building but chosen singhs to precide over panthic matters.. and they could leave india if needed to so they lead without being gagged. in my mind 5 singhs like hardev singh lulonwale, sukha singh uk, ranjit singh dhadrianwale and an honest and respected akj and nihang gurmukh would be a good representation of the worldwide kaum and would ensure the vast majority of sikhs stand under one banner (u might have different names but thats beside the point, im sure we could agree on someone) A takt in exile would still preside over indias panthic matters; free from the shackles of the hindutva controlled takts and loosen badals grip over sikhs. Its better if we have one akaal takht without a fixed abode if neccesary for now, but the sangat have the power to remove an unworthy mukhi via a panthic meeting.
  11. From what i understand there was such a tradition once.. It sounds like u wouldn't agree with a sarbat khalsa selecting a mukhi/5 singhs outside of this jatha. I guess that pits you against the original suggestion of a sarbat khalsa selection, without which the wider panth wont support and the current ststus quo would continue. My feeling on this is that - what if that jatha got infiltrated by the enemy (Waheguru forbid this ever happen) - then we'd be screwed again.. if the gurus own children could betray them then anyone can, so why restrict it so only a person from a single group could guide us if there is more credible gurmukh elsewhere. Yes once the most credible gurmukhs may have belonged to this jatha and still may, in which case I hope they would get selected. Just my view. Sarbat khalsa is the only way ensuring the highest avastha wale gurmukh are 'selected'. Thank you for your input bhai sahib.
  12. Could this uprising happen without a leadership selected by the masses (Sarbhat Khalsa) that is at least in part out of the reach of the hindutva forces? If the prominent babeh and panthics organisations that are not affiliated to badal stood together with the diaspora and say lets select a new leadership I feel the kaum will accept the leader and partly topple Badal in just that single decision. The point about an exiled Akaal takht isnt about a western leadership... it is about the kaum selecting a leadership from the wider kaum (from within or out of india) that deserves to sit in the Akal Takht... then safely lead the toppling of RSS/Badal and stooges before moving back to Amritsar. To say its not possible for the worldwide (inc India & diasporic) sikh kaum to select its leadership is defeatist... corruption has been there since day 1 500 years ago and always will be, the battle against corruption will be never ending, I can't think nor have I heard of any actions other then this that could credibly weaken Badals and RSS grip on the Sikh kaum. Maybe I'm deluded but I believe that the sikh kaum (including most Jathe/joe bloggs) have the desire and ability to find and select a gurmukh(s) that has the gurmat gian and leadership ability for the role of guiding us through this battle. maybe
  13. You are always going to get civil disagreements when mere mortals a placed in charge of gurdware, unless we can create a heaven on earth this will always be the case, I actually think some of these petty matters are best dealt with locally, ideally by sikhs internally but failing the infrastructure/will to do that then by civil courts. The Akaal Takht could only get involved in each of these matters in the diaspora if the funding/infrastructure was available to set-up satellite courts in the diaspora, i think this is a side issue and shouldnt be confused with the headline issue - RSS/State infiltrating the current Sikh leadership. A new Akaal Takht mukhi would be selected by the panth for high jeevan, kamaai, leadership qualities, gurmat gian etc as done in puratan times and would deal with the more serious Panthic issues. Gurdwara politics has nothing to do with at all, the decision would be panthic and not taken by gurdware like I said the machanics of how they would be selected is another discussion but if you look at our ithaas we are capable to some massive feats, just 30 years ago we selected a mukhi without even casting a vote and can do it again.... lets at least realise that it needs to be done first
  14. The missionaries debating Hari Singh were ultimately satisfied with Bhai Sahibs responses except for a difference in an interpretation on whether guru sahib was talking from their own perspective or projecting the perspective of the thought of the majority of people from that time. I thought both Bhai Hari Singh and the missionary bazurgs conducted the debate in largely good spirits (I am by no means a missionary fan, in fact the opposite most of the time. The bibia and trim "singhs" casing the fracas at the gurdwara, and then at the debate part 1 and the camera at debate part 2 were an absolute disgrace and need their gattey removing!!! I've always kept a reserved opinion on Bhai Hari Singh in the past as I think he could've been more outspoken about the tyrannical treatment of Minorities by the state when acting as the spokesmen of the sant samaj, but he was a credit to himself in this incident and to be fair he has done great seva to the kaum over the years, no doubt making great personal sacrifices.
  15. Yes agree this may help with issues on a local level in the diaspora, but the diasporic community are not having the issues I mentioned above instigated by the state they live in (drugs/apostacy/alcohol/foeticide/genocide etc). The lobbying of the akaal takht you refer of has been tried and failed and its obvious i.e. if you listen to end of the recent Hari Singh Randhawa debate in Surrey pt 2, you will hear how both Hari Singh and the missionary elders say gurdware, panthic personalities, jathe have been lobbying the akaal takht/sgpc with issues and solutions for donkies of years yet they are ignored as the enemies of the Sikh mat (that are withing the SGPC) want the issues within the kaum to get worse not better. My solution would free us of the shackles placed on us by the RSS and the fake Akali Dal and would provide more of ability to react to pathic matters/strategy, the greatest of which is that we are currently led by non Sikhs and/or anti Sikhs. The revolution was needed in the 70's/80's and things have only got worse since, punjab is in the midst of a genocide and our "leaders" don't even acknowledge it, minor institutional changes are not going to change anything.... leadership change that is carefully done is the only way forward.
  16. In light of the well known fact that the SGPC and Akaal Takht and other Takhts in India are under direct or indirect control of majority Hindu (RSS) government should a Sarbhat Khalsa be held on foreign soil or online (or a combination of both - but lets not get into debating how it would happen for now) in order to have an Akaal Takht in Exile out of the reaches of the India Govt? This would mean a Jathedar with the support of the panth and vidhvaans would be selected, the benefits of which would be massive. Some may argue this would be another divide in an already fragmented panth, but I am sure it could have a positive impact in challenging the current problem we have with a leadership that is subservient to RSS. Unless something as radical as this happens then I can't see anyway of wrestling power from those that are help bent on harming Sikhs. The RSS govt is more powerful then most understand and if we dont stem their surge into Punjab and remove them from our (Sikhs) 'top table' then the future for many generations of Sikhs in Punjab is bleak (drugs/apostacy/alcohol/foeticide/genocide etc). There is no doctrine for how or who can call a Sarbhat Khalsa, a call by the majority of the sangat and supported by a massive number of Gurmukhs/Vidvaans would out rank all that opose it. If a well funded/articulated case is made by the diaspora and propagated in Punjab now whilst there is an increasing unrest among the Sikh youth (as seen in the media these recent months) we could make a change? SO HOW ABOUT IT A SARBHAT KHALSA TO DEBATE ONE QUESTION... SHALL WE TAKE THE POWER OF THE AKAAL TAKHT BACK AND MOVE IT ABROAD UNTIL WE TAKE BACK CONTROL OF OUR HOME? A benti to anyone responding keep comments chardikala in nature, what I mean is if you don't agree make a better suggestion or keep criticism clean and fair - apart from a few trolls, we all want the same thing.
  17. Its a reminder to all sikhs they are funding a terrorist state by doing business with AI. Hit the purse of any govt and they will pay more attention. The referendum is a publicity stunt to highlight lack of true democracy in india and remind all sikhs still have had no justice. Although I'd prefer sikhs getting their own justice using the tools given to them by the gurus I give much kudos to sfj for keeping the cause alive and doing what they can. We should all support.
  18. What a shallow reason to support ukip. How old are you? Terrible governance by libs/lab/cons isn't reason to collaborate with the majority of indeginous facists of this country and support a common party (ukip). Ukip like any other political party will pander to the whim of the majority of their support... who happen to by the former supporters of the now underground bnp/nf. If there is nobody worthy of ur vote its better not to vote then give ur vote to a party supported largely by racists.
  19. Its sads sikhs are voting a party heavily supported by the far right brigade. a mutual support of a single party by sikhs and far right thugs would have unimaginable even five years ago. These sublte shifts in the perception of 'sikhs' is another sign Kaljug is certainly getting stronger! But then considering the amount of racism ive read on this forum I dont know why im surprised.
  20. Far too many apne lok can't help but take a dig at Hindu's and musalmaan as soon as an opportunity presents itself... Pettyness not becoming of the panth that should pray for bhalla of all. Sad what happened to the victim, thought's are with his family.
  21. That's quite a romantic image of what they were up to in the 80s, but for those of us that are old enough to remember different or had siblings with 'SP' membership certificates know better. their drug peddling, bullying and leading girls astray wasn't a post 80's occurrence. In fact its fair to compare them with edl, they did some good and an equal amount of damage.
  22. I wouldn't bother unless he's interested in how most of the former leaders went on to make a fortune out of drug money.
