  1. Yeah true. Even Bruce Lee said dont think of it as a chinese system or a japanese system, because you can learn from all and obtain a higher truth.
  2. Kali is already a part of Shastar Vidiya, Kali means Death. Even in the time of Satyug there was Shastar Vidiya but as time went by, this Vidiya expanded into other countrys into different style's like Kung Fu, Karate etc etc. This is why people that come to Shastar Vidiya that are against this Vidiya, think that Shastar Vidiya is coping other systems. Shastar Vidiya also teaches you technique's which are simpler to the Sticky Parm Technique which is also found in Wing Tsun. Everyone that thinks that Shastar Vidiya is copying other systems, this isnt true and there are also similarities between systems. The origin of all Martial Arts came from around North India (or whatever it was called in Satyug).
  3. Go to Shastar Vidiya (not gatkha) Classes, Shastara in Dastaray are used for combat and not for spritual purposes. You can use your dastar that has Shastara in it as a weapon in close combat for example grapling (which they dont teach you in gatkha). Ive seen many Amritderhi Sikhs wear Shastara in their dastaray but im assuming they dont know how to use them. My Ustaj at Shastar Vidiya said that Guru Gobind Singh ji said that having weapons and not having the know how to how to use them is like poison. But im guessing there'll be other people on this forum that are going to say, "No wearing shastar on the dastar is for spritual purposes".
  4. Because the Khanda symbol that we see today was introduced much later on. The design of the Khanda was influenced by the Adi Chand which Nihangs wore and which AKJs even now wear. If someone here would give me the year of introduction, would be nice.
  5. ronald230nc, I know you love God but did you know, this is what ive heard that in South India when the British came, they forced people to convert into Christanity. Read the link. Christianity in India http://www.answers.com/topic/christianity-in-india I Know all Christains aint like this. But alot has been done and undone in the Name of God. Not because God is like this but because the some people which follow the religion were corrupt. I like Jesus (Nirgun, Sargun) but Sikh belief is that God has many Names. In Guru Granth Sahib, there are so many Names of God. I take Ram, Jesus, Allah and Vaheguru name as being of the one and the same. Below is a Shabad in Guru Granth Sahib, ronald230nc im sure you can relate to it too. _____________________________________________________________________________ Guru Granth Sahib, Page 724 hai toohai too hovanhaar. agam agaaDh ooch aapaar. Mona Wearing A Patka

Im sorry if I sounded a bit harsh, next time i'll be more polite. Thanks for pointing it out for me
  7. Without Naam nothing can be understood. Guru ji always say Naam Jaap, if your a mona or a Amritderhi. Guru Granth Sahib is not a rule book. But Guru Ji trys to make you think by looking inside yourself. When you hear a Shabad/Bani from Guru Granth Sahib, you are listening to him talking to you.
  8. There are many meanings for the word Nihang. Nihang can mean: Sword, Brave one, Warrior, Crocodile or Without attachment. But there may be more? The Nihangs were formed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  9. True. Treat others as you would want to be treated.

    Mona Wearing A Patka

Yes just keep on talking. Keep on talking behind peoples backs. You know what there going through, dont you? Keep labing people as "party girls", when you dont even know if they went to a party in the first place.
  11. _/|\_Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! _/|\_ we are all true brothers and sisters _/|\_Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! _/|\_ Thinking like this is self distructive. Man and woman are 1/2, when Man and Woman come together they become 1 in marriage. Together you have the abilty to reproduce. Together you walk in one path. Together you experience each others pain. Together you experience each others pleasures. Together you experience sadness and happiness.
  12. So its wrong for women to even wear a chuni on top of a dastar too? "Modern Day Sikhi" Judge everyone that doesnt even meet to your standards or isnt "Sikh". Forget that God is in all. Only do Seva for Sikhs only. Orthodox Sikhi Everyone is Good, I am bad. God is in all. Seva be done for all, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christian or who ever because Guru Ji is in all.
  13. Is that so? What you think bhagat kabir, ravidasa, namdev, sain, trilochan, ramanad, bhagat fareed, bhagat sadhna were? were they not sikhs yet maintaining outer garb (customs) of their culture (rehna-behna) to some extent? True bhagats which are included in sri guru granth sahib ji didnt follow socio-religious boundaries of their own dharam (ie- islam, hinduism) they belong mystical orders of their dharam ie- sufi, shavism, advait vedanta. All the bhagats which are included in sri guru granth sahib ji were jevan mukht, they didnt belong to any specific dharam, they were not hard core followers of hindu panth nor they were rehitdhari khalsa, they were all almast fakirs who didnt gave two hoots about socio-religious-economic boundaries of their own religions or others. In my eyes, all the bhagats were sikhs didnt need to be khalsa in order to get jevan mukhti, they were already jevan mukht you can tell that by their gurbani included in sri guru granth sahib ji. Sikh and Khalsa are same when it comes to avastha but these are relative terrms ie- different type of intiation for eg- kabir panthis or sufi farid followers their intitation may be different than khalsa but internal bhramgyan amrit is one, they are relative terms could be both applied in socio-religious circle (panthic maryada) as well mystical traditions of any dharam. For example: In Sri Sarbloh Granth Sahib: Atam Ras Neh Jannehi Sio Haie Khalsa Dev, Prab Meh Mo Meh Tas Meh Ranchak Naeh Bhaiv || The one who has entered the sphere of atma(self), he alone is worthy of the title of the khalsa, he becomes one with me the guru and ultimately God.There is no difference. Above quote can be applied both ways to a) an khalsa who have taken intiation of khanda batta amrit and applied guru maharaj sikhi in his/her life and tasted atam ras. Above quote also dedicated (if you look at it more antriv(Deeply) arths to b) anyone of any dharam abroad away from socio-religious circle(panthic circle) to anyone who has realize his own true self(atma). Now lets look at this quote: Here Guru Gobind singh ji directly explains Khalsa. "The Khalsa is my exceptional Image, In the Khalsa ever resides my Spirit. The Khalsa is my Beloved and Venerable Master, The Khalsa is my divine Protector. The Khalsa is my Father and Mother, The Khalsa is my body and soul. The Khalsa is embodiment of true and perfect Guru. The Khalsa is my Gallant and Knightly friend. I have stated the truth without an iota of misconstruction. God and Guru Nanak are to this my witnesses." Guru Gobind Singh, Sarb Loh Granth, (MS), 519-526. This quote looks like more dedicated towards khalsa from socio-religious circle than from mystical circle. Guys, if gurmat gursikhi marg was that simple then we wouldnt need bhramgyani in the panth, any tom, di ck , harry scholar can decipher gurmat gursikhi marg. Last but not least, here are few words of my teacher, he puts all well together- listen to it: http://www.gurmarag.net/SikhAwareness/Audi...0is%20anadi.mp3 I couldnt say it any better.
  14. This video aint right. I bet all Christians would get upset watching this little video.
  15. Well there is only One in this world. He has many names but at the same time has no name.
  16. Shastar Vidiya is the complete system. You learn how to kick, punch, slap, block, weld the sword. There different pantarey even for close combat. I recommend people to do Shastar Vidiya. Shastar Vidiya is not Gatkha as most people tend to believe.
  17. Its not differences in Sikhi but its more to do with cultural differences. But Guru Ji says all should be treated as one. You get good people and bad people in all cultural backgrounds.
  18. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Raj Krega Khalsa! The Khalsa Shall Rule! The Pure Shall Rule! Sikhism Shall Never Be Replaced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sikhism is not going now!!!!!It's Coming BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Never Doubt Sikhi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Khalsa can not be described in narrow turms. Only does who are in love with him are pure. Without love of Guru Ji everything is a ritual, growing Kesh etc etc. Whats the point of performing rituals without being in love? Performing rituals is not against sikhi, simply performing rituals without the name of God everything is useless, following rituals with love of Naam isnt. Only His name is True. Everyday we perform rituals, going to study, going to work, going to the Gurdwara, doing paath, without Naam all theses rituals are false, we then get too absorbed in theses rituals, then get tried of performing them without Naam. The whole world is on fire, Naam is the only purifier. Come to think of it Khalsa is also God himself: Khalsa is the breath of my body, Khalsa is the very soul of my life, Khalsa is my real pride and glory, Khalsa is my own personal self, Khalsa is my life’s sustainer, Khalsa is my body and breath, Khalsa is my creed and karma, Khalsa is my conscience keeper, Khalsa is my perfect Satguru, Khalsa is my brave friend, Khalsa gives me intellect and wisdom, Khalsa is my object of meditation.
  19. Nice to people are reading Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bani from Sri Dasam Granth. But did you know that, "Deh Shiva Bar Mohe ihai" is called Chandi Charitra Savaiya and is not a just an anthem. And the Ardas which we do everyday is in Sri Dasam Granth too.
  20. So your surnames means to what caste your from and not that of your family? Does this means that you might be marring your sister? No offense intended. Its just that one day other person may say the same thing.
