  14. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Here is something i collected about Phoolka's life , achivements and seva from the website. I had made a rough draft for you. You can edit it and adjust according to your need. Let me know about anyother services. Waheguru jee Khalsa, Waheguru jee ke Fateh !! 20 years ago in Nov. 1984 in India, for three full days, armed mobs had a free run of India's Capital hunting down Sikhs, one of the more prosperous minority communities of the country, killing their men by burning them alive, looting and destroying their properties, molesting their women and assaulting their children, all with the patronage of then ruling Congress party and its leaders. From Nov 1 to 3rd (in 3 days) 4,000 Sikhs were massacred in Delhi alone and the culprits were shielded by the state Govt and the justice system. Not bearing these atrocities and to fight for justice again, a tiger of Guru Sahib jee - Senior Advocate H.S. Phoolka and his team stood up and are still fighting for justice. Harinder Singh Phoolka headed this campaign not only as a lawyer but also as an activist. Needless to add, he did all the work pro bono (without charging any fee) and quite often had to bear expenses from his own pocket. As a background when this carnage took place, Phoolka was just 28 and had been in Delhi law bar for just 3 years. He did all his schooling in a remote village of Punjab, Bhadaur in Sangrur district, his under-graduation from Ludhiana and LLB from Chandigarh. Got married in 1983 to food technologist Maninder Kaur, who was to him a tremendous source of support both morally and financially, especially i n the early years of the struggle for justice. After being declared an "outstanding graduate" in 1990 at the American Institute of Banking, Kansas, Maninder Kaur gave up job offers in the US and returned to India because of Phoolka's involvement in the carnage issue (Delhi riots case). Ironically, in the wake of the carnage, Phoolka and his wife actually decided to move back to Punjab shaken by a miraculous escape they had then. But a visit Phoolka made to a relief camp in Farsh Bazar prompted the couple to change their plans. Phoolka could see the need for volunteers especially from the legal profession to help the victims get their due. He formed CJC (Citizen Justice Committee) and was head of commission and dedicated his life in collecting evidences and espouse for victims. Phoolka represented victims everywhere and was the only light for them. He is now an senior advocate at the age of 44 and has been rated among "50 persons who make a difference" in the country by Outlook magazine. Let us come and listen to him alive about his struggle for justice on June 13th and pay our respect and appreciation to brave soldier of Khalsa panth.
