Veerji, There is a similar situation in one of the books, Dr.Gurbaksh Singh Ji has written. He talks about a man not wanting to take amrit because the others that have taken amrit are corrupt, do not to paatth, or main sikhi saroop. He thinks it ruins it for the people that are truly sikhs at heart. Dr Sahib's reply to the gentleman is, "Take amrit and be a leader and role model for those people. If people are seen by other members of the sangat as not following our Guruji's hukam, then you will be seen as the one following it, if you maintain your sikhi saroop and amrit."
