  1. Why did Giani Vedanti going to meet Chandock. Surly the accused should have appeared at the Akal Takht rather than the Giani visiting him in Delhi. He did not go to meet Kala Afghana who claimed he was at risk from arrest in India. These Giani are turning the role of the Akal Takht Jathedar into a farce. Only a while back he awarded only mild punishment to dhanwant su head of the Noor Vishav Roohani Charitable Sansthan for raping a young girl. Even though such matters are criminal and should have been handed over to the police so dhanwant could have spent some time in prison. Someone once said that if you put a car tyre on a tractor it does not run properly. The same is true of this Giani who really has no clue how the Akal Takht Jathedar should perform.
  2. Was he not living in a koti in Lahore sometime back before someone from the Panjwar group shot him or something ?
  3. I went to India first (from UK) and then crossed the border via the land crossing at Wagha. Indian passport holders have to take the train which is slower than the foot crossing. You need to sort your Pakistan visa out before you travel. I went with a jatha and they arranged the Visa without any problems in a few days. If you could get a jatha together you may be able to arange something with the Pakistan embassy/consulate to make visa arrangements easier than for a single person. From what I heard it is easier for EU passport holders to get a Pak visa (dont know how it works in the US/Canada). It owuld be good if our US and Candaian brothers could start organising trips as it is not too hard for foreign passport holders to visit Pakistan. If you live in the UK then there are a few groups tha t organise such trips. Let me know if yo are in the UK and I will provide you a contatc number for the group I travelled with. On the trip into Pakistan there were many Indian cricket fans who were allowed to use the foot crossing route so it was a bit slow to get immigration clearance etc. On the way back me and a friend were over back into India within half an hour. The people there are great and I was surprised how well mannered and polite the Pakistan police were although whilst chatting one cop did tell me about torture techniques which was interesting. One benthi I have for the SGPC is to give the Indian jatha leaflets on how to sit on a toilet. The mess they make is disgusting. They sit on the floor next to the toilets and actually crap on the floor causing potential health and safety problems. I will tell you one very interesting story. One night me and a friend were stood outside the accomodation block at Nankana Sahib chatting to a few policemen. Another cop joined us and told us about a Singh from India who had just arrived at the main gate with his wife and daughter together with their son in law, apparently the Singh had been drinking some nasha and all the family were pulled into the office near the entrance gate for questioning. It later transpired that this so called Singh had married his daughter to a muslim boy who claimed he was from overseas. After a bit of questioning he admitted he was a loafer and had told lies to marry the Sikh girl. After a while this so called Singh walked past us with his family and his son in law. Thinking about it after we should have hit him for coming into the Nanakana Sahib complex under the influence of alcohol.
  4. Went to Pakistan in April 2004. From what I was told there are 600 Sikhs living around Nankana Sahib and more in Peshawar. From what I saw and learnt the Sikh from pakistan were Pathans who converted. They speak Pushto between themselves. One good thing I found was that unlike in India all the Sikhs keep their hair and wera patka or turbans. Even small children wear patka. They do intermarry and do jhatka for meat. During Basakhi and Gurpurbs many Sindhis also travel to visit the Sikh Gurdwara. They have Gutke written in Urdu. A bit off topic but : I am surpised that no one has invited any of the childrens Kirtan jathe over from Pakistan to tour in Europe or America. I had the pleasure of listening to the children performing kirtan at Nankana Sahib on a few occasions and they were very good. From the western hemisphere it is mostly British Jathe who travel to Pakistan, from what sevadar told me at Nanakana Sahib it is very rare for them to get visitors form the US or Canada. The accomodation at Nankana Sahib is very good . I urge you all to visit. As they say you are not a true Punjabi until you see Lahore. Peshawar has a Gurdwara named Bhai Joga singh. It looks very small from the outside but is large inside. The Singh there do a superb langar with nan breads etc. Peshawar looks a rough city. As soon as you enter you notice AK47 rifles hanging in shop windows for sale etc. I ws also told of a case where some tribal muslims had kidnapped a Sikh girl and refused to return her.
  5. The Sikhs in fornt of Sacha Sauda are Pakistani Sikhs. I have met a few of those pictured and they live around Nanakana Sahib.
  6. One interesting conspiracy angle for the assasination of indira was that although Satwant Singh and Beant Singh only fired x bullets (forgot how many) it is said doctors found x+2 bullets in her. Where did the other 2 bullets come from ? May just be rubbish but a few people have mentioned that such a story was published in the Indian press. During Bluestar Badal hid in his village and did not surface for a while. Tohra came out with his hands up and surrendered, this was strange as it shows he was well in with the Congress sarkar as whilst all those innocent people were being mown down how did the army spare him and his stooges.
  7. Maharaja Bhupinder Singh died in 1938. He would have had immunity form prosecution so I do not think he is the charachter you are referring to in this Monica story. Could be one of his successors but I doubt it.
  8. >>in that case ill post my post here aswell. this is the guy who was caught by Baldev Singh What you mean by caught by Baldev Singh ? :T:
  9. They are like that with most people. A few months ago I was departing through IGIA Delhi with my cousin who is a mona. They let me through the immigration area but kept him there for a good 20 minutes. They always ask for my fathers details and I always just refer them to the emergency contact details in my passport. I find speaking only English usually gets things done quicker as there command of the language is poor and they want to get rid of you. I had problems this year a t the Waga border crossing. Everything on exit and entry form India was fine and the immigration and customs wale were very good. In Pakistan they accused me of being on a blacklist. they asked me to come into the office and see for myself. I ooked at the PC monitor and told them the name they had flagged me on had the same first three letters as mine but besides that the name was different. The Pakistani must have felt stupid  @ but he accepted this and kindly stamped my passpors. Also one word of caution if you have an Indian passport with any residency stamps/visas for western countries like the USA or UK please check your passport pages when immigration have stamped and given you your passport. There have been cases at some airports where immigration officers were tearing these pages out and selling them to wouldbe immigrants through agents.
  10. The picture is of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh grand father of Captain Amarinder Singh . He is the one who had hundreds of wives and helped fund the Shepards Bush Gurdwara.
  11. Yes thats fine, I will just suggest that CCTV has been used in many countries to comabt such anti social elements just like those who prey on unsuspecting worshipers of the Guru. Have you emailed them ? I will also email them now and we will wait for a reply then see how long they take to actually implement anything. Thanks for taking part. If any other brother / sister wish to take part then please email the SGPC with the email at sgpc@vsnl.com. Brother Kandola, do you think it is worth sending the message to Badal :T: as it appears he is capable of influencing the SGPC.
  12. There you go Badal said he must come back so his stooges circumvent the retirement rules and bring him back. The emails had no effect and it was more to do with Badals request that he was reinstated. I always have bought Sikhi into my emails. I have explained how stealing is aginast our faith etc. The SGPC just lack the motivation to do anything that would benefit the Sangat. No body enjoys having their money stolen or gold chain ripped off their neck so why not put CCTV in place. Gurdwara in the west have done so. OK lets test your theory out. A few people join me and send emails today mentioning there are pickpockets operating in the Darbar Sahib complex and CCTV would act as a detterent and help catch them in the act. We will see what replies we get. Brother Kandola if you want maybe you could draft an email which you think would get us positive results then we can all use that to see if your theory on SGPC email replies is true.
  13. Gur Fateh Please do not get me wrong, my emails to them have always been polite and never have I uttered anything bad in any of my emails to them. If they still fail to take action and send emails using the name of one of our beloved Guru Ji then what else can I call them apart from a sham mickey mouse organisation. Only recently I emailed them (again the email was very polite). I had to send 2 follow up emails just to solicit a response which was not very helpful. The fact that many of the recently elected SGPC members were buying vot es using alcohol further highlights they are a sham organisation. Then there is the case of the Sikh reference library material which they as custodians have failed to retrieve or launch any civil action to retrieve.
  14. ha ha ha I just can not stop laughing. The SGPC is a sham. They do not bother with emails. A few years ago I emailed them I got a reply from Guru Ram Das Ji, well some plank thought it would be funny to change the name of the email account to that of Guru Ram Das Ji. Emailed them many times to highlight the increase of pickpockets in the Darbar Sahib complex and suggesting they start using CCTV with trained operators. got a reply back that they had made arrangements for foolproof security. Since have heard many stories about pickpockets in the Darbar Sahib complex. I even suggested using a decoy with a valuable camera with a tracker device so these criminals preying on the sangat could be tracked and caught, again the SGPC can not be bothered to get their fingers out their behinds and take action. The bufoons at the top take very little notice. Only a few years ago one SGPC member was caught with a girl in his car (some say a prostitute) another SGPC member was caught transporting bhooki (drugs) in his official SGPC car.
  15. 1>The hukumnama is common knowledge. But if you really want proof you could write to Amarinder Singh and ask to see the original hukumnama which the family still retains. If you dont fancy a trip to Patiala then get yourself Tareekh-i-Patiala, 74-5 and Hukumnamas No.43, 146, 147. 2>That is the difference between the likes of us  @ and the mahan Jassa Singh Ahluwalia who despite the Patiala royals being in league with Ahmad Shah Abdali refused to attack them because he respected the hukumnama of Guru Gobind Singh Ji so much. As for the Shaheed Singh. Did they really die over a water dispute ? I think not their was a lot more to it than that including state sponsored killings of Sikhs etc. If water had been the sole issue they could easily have destroyed the canal that g oes to Bikaner (Ganga Canal) and also the other Canals going to Haryana etc.
  16. The House of Patiala has been blessed by the Guru. Guru Gobind Singh Ji had written in his edict issued in the name of Bhai Tiloka and Bhai Rama on August 2, 1696, Bhadson 2 Samat 1653 Bikrami, "I reside in your house, you are under the canopy of our blessings" For this reason Jassa Singh Ahluwalia refused to attack Patiala after Maharaja Amar Singh of Patiala met with Ahmad Shah Abdali. Nowadays the dow takke de politicians of the Badal Dal openly launch verbal tirades against the Patiala House and even talk about settling scores by raiding the new Moti Bagh Palace which is home to the Raja of Patiala. Shows how low they are and the lack of respect they have for hukumnama issued by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  17. ) It is not technically all of Punjabs water any more as it originates in Himachel. So let Himachel choose who to give the water to. If it is a case of letting Punajbi people deceide then lets not discuss anything related to Punjab on these forums :T: Again you ignore the fact there are Sikhs in Haryana who will also benefit from this canal so I fail to understand why people are trying to project this as an anti Sikh issue. I am all for the canal and also stopping water going into Pakistan which Punjabi and Haryana farmers could sh are.
  18. It will become a desert due to the over farming. The same happened in China. Its not just down to water. Over cropiing will begin to bear its brunt on the soil. Water would never have been a problem if successive governments had made proper use of methods to recharge the groundwater table.
  19. No complications at all . Water that Pakistan has no right to is freely flowing across the border into Pakistan. This could easily be diverted via canals to serve both Punjab and Haryana. Also bear in mind that many of the Punjab rivers now originate in Himachel (again this was also a part of Punjab) so they could do what they wnt with them. If ther is not enough water that start using this Pak bound water (get it its simple!) Bear in mind that many northern areas of Haryana are claimed by Punjab and in these areas it there is a sizable Sikh population. The SGPC have already allienated the Sikhs of Haryana by not building anything of note (College, Medical institutes) in Haryana despite taking crores of rupees each year form Gurdwara in Haryana, hence why the Sikhs of Haryana want the Haryana Gurdwara Prabandak Committee f ormed. If there is not enough water maybe the Punjab government could look at the various proven ways to recharge the water table. As for blocking water. Bear in mind that Haryana would take similar action and stop Punjab bound vehicles etc crossing its terriotry etc. The coal for the coal fires electric thermal plants would not even get to Punjab. Then could stop all Punjabis getting access to Delhi airport etc etc.
  20. Yes it is very selfish as Haryana has many Sikhs living there and it was a part of Punjab until the Aklais started mooting Punjabi suba without actually sitting down to look at where Punjabis lived. This resulted in many Sikh areas going to Haryana. Also a lot of water flows into Pakistan and this could be used by the Punjabi and Haryana farmers to stop groundwater depletion.
  21. Has the SGPC ever been awake. One of its members was caught with drugs in his car a few years ago. The Badal dal have been handing out alcohol to get votes in the recent SGPC elections. The SGPC in my opinion is a sham with country bumpkins who lack education running it.
