how long is the competition up for? just wondering cuz ive had some interest from another application for the artwork ive done, and if g5 bhajis is gud or the first one i did is fine, it'd be great to know so i could adapt the greeny khanda one for the other sevadaars....

K, not long ago I contacted STTM team and they were willing to help, I will e-mail bhaji today too... but aren't we gonna have a problem displaying gurbani, the iphone does not yet support gurmukhi fonts, although I can get unicode to display. Plus, don't bother purchasing another iphone developer program, as I already have one, theres no point purchasing too huna? hopefully, with akaal purakhs kirpa, this seva shouldn't be too hard. ps. i am lame on the programming side but i can do all the provisioning and readying to deploy it to the app store.

is it the typing you are having problems with or is it the programming side? are you a reg. developer? I would love to join forces lol... ks

I've been looking on the app store and came across iQuran... and readable Quran on the iPhone/iPod Touch by chapters. I guess a good place to start may be along these lines starting with nitnem maybe? or a slow release of gurbania thru updates? ive finally been able to activate my iphone dev program. but dnt get ur hopes up cuz im really lame at programming, but i will try and put something together and if it is akaal purakhs will he will allow me to do this seva. wjkk wjkf

wjjk wjkf, I was reading about falconry and found that it involved allowing the bird of prey to hunt. I personally feel this is the nature of the animal. But was wondering if the guru allowed this. I'm sure he would have as it is a part of nature. I am, of course, not saying anything that guruji allowed the killing of other animals, no way. But if it is the nature of another animal, then it is not us. I guess I am asking because I would like to learn falconry but wanted to know the spiritual implications. Problem most programmers are having is that the iPhone doesn't support Gurmukhi yet, should be a way to hack it in, but as yet it does not. Which is odd because all macs now have the Gurmukhi Unicode Support ਿਜਸ ਤਰਾ ਤੁਸੀ ਦੇਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾ।

Guru Nanak Dev Ji also talks about the different khands, not just sachkhand, like i think somebody else said, there are different levels. Dharam Khand, Giyan Khand, Saram Khand, Karam Khand, and then Sach Khand. I do not know which pangtee Khalsa4eva ji is talking about but from the english translation, maybe guru ji was describing we should aspire to attain to merge with the supreme lord and not come back to the 8.4 million lives. None of the functions are working. If you don't mind i could try and make an iphone version with the SDK.

wjkk wjkf, if you require any seva please do not hesitate to tell us - www.thesikhspodcast.com Crazy really, don't rest of FSO understand that this stuff take time and planning, but like someone said before look to the future. My feeling is that we should, as the youth, come to this event in great numbers and actually take a stance and maybe the rest of the FSO may pull a finger out in the future. Evidently, the SF (UK) have been doing a lot, but maybe its time that the rest of the FSO are questioned as to their intentions of the rally, because it is these factions in sikhi that has kept us behind so long. Don't any of us remember the words of guru gobind singh ji? ' Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukham Hai, Guru Maneyo Granth!' not follow these different groups that would not teamwork if it slapped them in the face. More recently what Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa said, "don't say im gonna be a bhinderanwala's man or an Akali man, be the humble servant of Sahib Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The vast majority of the Sadh Sangat at this event are not to promote any groups they are there to express their views and to support the right to self-determination, not just for sikhs in india but it will benefit all overseas sikhs aswell, one example comes to mind; the French Sikhs with the dastaar issue. So sadh sangat ji, if you are not here to promote any group, and wish to express your views; to keep this alive, shouldn't it be you who keep these groups in line? shouldn't it be your decision as to who organises what? who does what? who have an ulterior motive and who is there to do real parchaar. I feel that SF (UK) have done well to take a step back in the organising this year, (although ensuring the event doesn't fall to pieces) this will help the Guru piayaree sadh sangat ji identify the impostors who are there to keep their own power. Would it not be possible to use the iPhone SDK to create a iPhone and iPod Touch Beta too? as they would most probably use the same coding? but then I dnt know much about coding - good old HTML and CSS for me! :D wjkk wjkf ks
