  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh Gursikhoo excellent seva...perfect video.. Bhai Tejinder Singh Ji Doola mixing raag kirtan and normal AKJ style.....contracting and expanding....excellent....keep it up.........
  3. Please resolve as belo: Nothing but buffering . . . Any chance on lowering the bit rate to help it stream
  4. Waheguru Ji ka Khalasa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh I would like to know does anyone has keertan of Bhai Manpreeet Singh Jee when he came over to Gravesend this year. If so could you please reply. He only came the once and there were some singhs recording it , please let us know
  5. Sher panjabi Thans for your reply.100% spot on this is what I witness a young bunch of Sikhs carrying out in my home town of Gravesend. The fat taal with lit up candles wavering it around weapons of Guru Ji is total and pure manmat. Nanag followers of Niddar Singh have adopted this practice.
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh What are people's views on AARTEE done of Guru Ji and where it is also done of weapons by modern day nihangs in the UK? Is this a pracitce that was carried out by our Guru's if so then what is the difference between us and hindus? I know the practice exists at Hazoor Sahib, but what is it amongst youth in the western world who jump on this practice whole heartdly without giving thought on rehat maryada of the AKAL Takhat? Surely a manmat practice??
  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Another observer points out the happennings at the camp:: check http://tapoban.org/phorum/read.php?f=1&i=52785&t=52785 a permanent stop is needed on this modern day nangs whose up for the challange of suggesstions for them to stop doing manmat parchar and making a real joke out of sikhe. Author: Singhni Date: 09-14-05 11:50 1/ Some of the boys told me that in the room where the Nihang Singhs were sleeping, they had prepared a bed for Guru Gobind Singh Ji!? Apparently my friends said that the Nihang Singhs said that the bed (which they said was an air bed with a blanket on it, placed on a bunch of school tables put together) was for Guru Gobind Singh Ji to sleep on at night. My cuz saw it as well. He said that there were too small nishaan sahibs on each end of the air bed. My cuz said that a group of boys went to see "Guru Ji's bed" after some Nihangs told them about it. 2/ Cookies and Milk (not kidding!) were placed next to "Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bed" (aka the air bed placed on a few tables). When my cuzin asked who the milk and cookies were for, the Nihang Singh Paji said that it was for Guru ji to eat and drink. 3/ On Tuesday the Nishan Sahib was changed and replaced. it was a really good experience. doing nishan sahib di sewa for the first time was really chardikala. however i was suprised and bit disturbed (the least!) by: (i) bob singh paji said that the nishan sahib sewa that we were going to do at the camp was the 'proper' and 'traditional' way of doing it, whereas in the Gurdwaras etc we practice "Christian-fied version of the ceremony." i didn't get what he meant about gurdware being 'christian-fied'. (ii) balkar singh paji and another paji cut their arms with a kirpan and then smudged blood on the nishan sahib. i noticed when i looked at the khanda and saw a long blood stain on it. i asked my friend what it was and she said it was blood. bit scary! and disturbin. i know emotions were flying high and people were getting into the spirit, but blood and smudging it and waving the kirpan in the air and keeping shouting on the top of their voice was bit too much for me. 4/ i have been brought up by my family that when we go to the gurdwara we shouldn't clap. instead i was taught that we should say 'bole so nihal, sat sri akal' to show joy or to appreciate kirtan, lecture, talk or something. but at the camp bhai sahib from malaysia who was really nice, said that clapping was okay in the gurdwara as long it was graceful. it seemed totally new to what i was taught at my local gurdwara. 5/ I dont want to disrespect nihung singhs or guru gobind singh ji's sikhs, but i found the nihang singhs bit aggressive and intimidating. i overheard swearing and especially at the camp fire i was disappointed to hear paji balkar singh, who before then i thought was a sweet gursikh, swore and said "everyone f*ckin shut up" when he is about to do a talk at the camp fire. it really threw me and my friends, but most people laughed it off. 6/ a singh came over to talk to the girls group. he implied something which i and the other penjis werent comfortable with. he suggested that guru gobind singh ji is good looking person, and the beauty of guru ji is in the singhs who were bana. i weren't liking where the talking was leading. he was implying stuff that we women are attracted to the guru and so were are attracted to singhs. i dunno whether i am the one in wrong. but thinking of guru ji in illicit terms or sexual way seems disrespectful and way out of the league for someone who was brought up to respect guruji. 7/ i had bit of a headache from everyone shouting 'akal' 'akal' 'akal'. i know we do bole so nihal, sat sri akal in the gurdwara and on special functions but everyone kept saying it for no reason, which was very annoying. saying 'akal' and saying 'bole so nihal, sat sri akal' became bit of a joke and a laugh. which is bit sad. i am sorry to depress everyone with my negativity. me and my cuzin enjoyed the camp. but we were overthrown some of the above stuff. i loved sukha singh paji explaining the hukamnamas and the kirtan was really inspiring. does anyone else have thoughts to share. perhaps anyone who went to the camp? sorry if i said anything wrong or offensive.
  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Akali Sodi jeeo, why do you want a personal mail on nihag maryada, let's see it out in the open here. The nihang ideology shown at the camp is very close to hindu and devtae ideology, the hindus are known for these acts in India in which they give blood to demons in the fire or devtas to possess certain powers or aquire certain souls. Ask any Hindu or brahmin in India of these practises and they will clearly tell you where they originate from. Where does Sikhe preach this kind of nonesense, or Guru Sahiban mention clearly in rerharas " ram raheem puran koran anaak kahe mat ek na maneo". Sadly Guru Granth Sahib Ji mentions these are all pakands ,there is no Daaan bigger than NAAM Daan clearly we read this every day in ardaas.
  9. Waheugur Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh First and foremost I can now cofirm that the nangs actually did scar themseleves made this great scarifice to wow the young youth at the camp. I know and can prove it and am willing to meet anyone here face to face instead of bashing on forums. AK47 you are 100%spot on. Akal Ji many thanks for your beatuiful words, as I have said I can confirm what went on their is 100% truth as I've met the person who claimed these happennings and did go to the camp. Truth really hurts ehh, this show from the nangs is pure pakand, I challange you and them to mention which of our Guru Sahiban or most prominent Sikhs in history ever did these pakands. Admins of Sikh Student Camp organisers while I Belive you have good intention in introducing and growing Sikhe to the upcoming innocent youth, but you MUST ensure you have people with pure Sikhe @ heart who preach not nangs who have a version of sikeh which is twisted from Luv and kush and other hindu devtas. I wouldn'tbe surprised if these nangs would distribute bhang and drugs in Langar either..
  10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh On the contrary I would like to know the truth and in fact these camps are really changing youth for the better or worse by distorting with a certain view of Sikhe.
  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Just heard that at the camp there were some nihangs who were scarring themselves with swords and offerring blood to Guru Ji with jakaray !!, what kind of Sikhe is this? Please confirm of these happennings or was it behind the scenes.
  12. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh! If these camps are so good and are great way of creating Ekta among the youth and promote Sikhe learning then why not hold them together. For example why can't the Sikh Student camp be held together with Khalsa camp?
  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh! If these camps are so good and are great way of creating Ekta among the youth and promote Sikhe learning then why not hold them together. For example why can't the Sikh Student camp be held together with Khalsa camp?
  14. We did see other Faith leaders doing their speeches and paying their tributes did any Sikh leaders make a speech?
  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji kE Fateh Don'tforget it was Guru Arjan Dev Ji who started wrestling amongst Sikhs, there is even a Gurdwara in Punjab where it was started. Indeed a Sikh should be extremely fit.
  16. Bhujangee, What's happening Saturday's just gone by still no answers to very valid questions raised by amorphous_singh... for the sangat on this forum so they can decide if they should contirbute to the Gravesend Gurdwara.
  17. bhujangee, As I 've said before , you can gather all the ideas you want and contact us if need be, but if the committee (125 member one ) are backward then you'll be lucky to get one through and obtain a tangible objective and expedite it. There is a buch of us in Gravesend who have all the ideas you would ever need and are keen to take forward youth initiatives. These kind of projects can only be taken forward as a team by (likeminded indiviuals ,youth ) to a successful outcome, otherwise if one is to go alone then one is just looking for personal gain (which is against sikhe principles). If that's the case I'll be the first to bid you the best of luck in your initiative.
  18. Yeah what exactly are you planning it would be nice to know and for the sangat on this board to know. If you want to keep privacy then email me personally. I'm from Gravesend, and there are a few of us from Gravesend who have loads of ideas for you. I 'll await your email so we can meet up and discuss your plans.
  19. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Fateh Sampat paat is brahmanical idea of puuja worship taken on by some Sikh Jathebandi's, it was passed on from the mahants or nirmalee sants proabably around 1920's 30 or maybe even earlier. It's not gurmat to do sampat paath, if it was so important our Guru Sahiban would've written those insturctions or written bani in such a way so that we do sampat. You will find a lot brahmins do sampat paths when they do puja of geeta. There is no mention of doing sampat paat as per rehat maryada from the akaal takt. Akand paat is just continous reading of gurbani in 2.5 days. Whereas the sampat boyz when they dod akand paat with the sampat effect , they read one line and then read satnam whaeguru and then read another line and repeat satnaam waheguru, in this way it takes longer say 7-10 days. And of course the promoters of this type of paat feel special at the end of it becasue it was with sampat. Paat is paat, we are to do it with vichaar and understanding and then bring about practical changes in one's life according to the teachings and principles laid down in Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. If you can listen to vichaar (cassette) from Giani Gurbakash Singh Ji Gulshan on Akand path. He's really done the homework on this topic.
  20. I would say yeah donate , but first ask what is this Gurdwara doing for the youth, as far as I'm concerned for the last 10 -15 odd years it's zilch. There are no youth involved with the committee's at all. What we need is this Gurdwara to be like the one in seven kings and follow their example, but that will not happen due to the old committee boyz are a bunch of guys like the ones in Southall, they just don't see any sense apart from building a Gurdwara. All they are worried about is money and marble for the Gurdwara. Why does it have to have marble there's loads of sangat in Gravesend who oppose it becasue it's costly. The money being spent on the marble could've been spent on the internal works and getting the Gurdwar functioning, but no no they don't see sense. Yes they do need money, and don't get me wrong, I have donated also ,but ask yourselves what's in it for the youth? bhujangee, I'm assuming you're from Gravesend if so get in touch via peersonal email if need be.
  21. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh There are also classes held every Saturday 5-7 pm. by Baba Fateh Singh Gatka Akhara, in Gravesend Kent.
  22. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh Fauji, veer thanks for your comments, I wasn't entirely offended and likewise don't mean to cause offence either or cause a pointless debate. Ok you mention about Dasm Granth "It's not the Khalsa's opinion either, Sri Akaal Takht Sahib Ji didn't denounce it as Bani, they just said don't discuss it because the is a vast number who believe it is not all Bani and there an equally vast number who believe it is." Then, what's the majority view of the SARBAT khalsa surely it's SGGS and not Dasm Granth, which is entirely why I answered the question on the timelines according to translations from SGGS. Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave us SGGS as our Guru for the times ahead not anything else then why not base answers from reflection from SGGS and confuse the issue by bringing in Dasm Granth. You ask "Just wondering do you not believe in any of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji?" excellent quiestion  however, If I were to answer this question it would also cause a pointless debate in which is not the way I want to go, but want to stick to the thread with reagrds to Kalug, satyug timelines. Your translation of Dasm Granth w here you meniton "Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj metaphorically uses the stories of hindu gods fighting and destroying the evils," however SGGS teaches us that we are born with the five evils and they cannot be killed they can only be controlled, there are loads of quotes in SGGS on how to control these evils, so which one of these answers is likely to be correct? Flying Sikh man makes an intersting comment "Could it be that the Kal-yug is not bound to time but to people?" abosolutlely correct , quote comes to mind " ek ghari na milta taa kaluyug hotaa " every moment, every second of a Sikhs life is to be in tune with naam. So here Guru Ji emphasises if one second passes by forgetting naam then it's kalyug... apologies for any mistakes or misspelling of quotes.
  23. Fauji... you meniton "Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji has loads of things written in it and many studies have confirmed that it was all written by Guru Gobing singh Ji Maharaaj, which is a FACT." I would say that is an equally vulgar statement based on your personal opinion. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh And first and foremost it wasn't my personal opinion , it's the opinion of the Khalsa from Siri Akal Takt Sahib. Anyway as mature adults we agree to disagree here then move on to topic of this debate which was kalyug then we have to take into context and relevance of what has been left for us to understand which is GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE. And what I mentioned here about the timeline and so forth is also a fact when you look at translations of Bhai Manmohan Singh, Bhai Vir Singh, Professor Sahib Singh, and professor Darshan Singh Je just reiterates those translations for us to understand SGGS that those timelines are for us to understand our ownself everyday. If tomorrow is supposed to be satyug then there is no way we're all gona change into different type of people after the midnight hour passes. The need is for one to stay in satyug mode at all times even while posting mails on the internet.
  24. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Dear Cybersangat Jeeo. Kalyug, satyug, treta, dwapar these yugs under the belief of hindu methodology have a certain time i.e so many thousands of years and so forth. This kind of thinking does not conincide with teachings from SGGS, you only need to read the Assa Di Vaar and it is explained well enough. If you can get the recent 25 cd collection of vihcaar on Assa Di Vaar by Pro Darsshan Singh Ji it will help you understand the Gurmat way. Thinking of the yugs like human beings i.e giving them time and so forth is all hindu methodology, bascially your telling people on that soon as it strucks midnight from satyug to kalyug or vice versa people on this earth are suddenly going to change, no way. Assa di Vaar teaches that raam and ravan were in the same yug, so were harnaksh and pralaad, therfore on all yugs there was good and bad. The need is for the human mind to evaluate what kind of yugs it goes through every day, for example when you 're doing nitnem in the morning you;re in satyug mode, when during the day someone cuts you up while you are driving , you suddenly stick up two fingers that's not satyug anymore it's treta mode. Gurbani teaches over and over about the mind and putting it in the right mode everyday. I would give quotes here from Gurbani but would urge people to get that CD set and listen to it will wake you up from hindu methodology. Dasm Granth has loads of things written in it and we cannot even confirm that all was written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji which is a FACT. One has to bear in mind that just before the singh sabha movement began it had been in the hands of the nirmali sants for years , who most l ikely changed things in the Dasam Granth. I can assure you that SGGS (Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) is hard enough for a normal person (in one life time) to understand and apply its teachings, afterall this was left for as Guru Sahib by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. And for people thinking about avtars and Guru Ji coming back in some form or another ponder on this from Guru Granth Sahib " SATGURU MERA SADA SADA NAH AVAEE NAA JAAEE , OOOH ABNASI PORKH HAA SAB MAHAN RAHEAA SMAAEE" . Sorry about spellings If need be I will post the exact translation and quote with panna, ...basically there will be no one coming back to save the Sikhs, they 'll have to work hard with it themselves and produce up coming generations of Sikhs with rehat who are proficient in loads of Languages to get Guru Ji 's mesage across in this world.
