  1. best kirtan and khata i have heard in long time!
  2. they both the samething as the tenth guru was a nihang so it is a nihang bana and it is guru's bana what a stupid tread! By the way i havent bothered to read any previous reply to this just thought i would put my 2p worth in!
  3. Read your history gupt and it will all become clear to you some great Sikhs have cut there hair in times of war and then become kesh dari Sikhs again don't judge these people are far greater than us and now sit in sach kand! As far as a dumb tread concerned that's what it is, the song reflects history what people said to Bhagat singh and his reply. Its not the Kennedy assassination all over again!
  4. A bit of a dumb tread; bhagat singh was an atheists and openly stated he didn’t believe in god. However if you read Bhai Randheer Singhs auto biography when on death row Bhagat singh did keep his hair again and started to pray again, a little while before being hung. Also the song say so what if I cut my hair for my cause I have yet to have my head cut off for what I believe.
  5. WJKK WJKF Well mr tec9 i hink you are behid mr powar, you are just trying to save his face thats it. and no one realy cares about what your sayin so your just wasting your time and it dont take just you to tell the truth about mr powar and the court case....its already out tec9...get overr ittt....everybody wants to forget bout itt...and your just making it worce WJKK WJKF Ooohh lol I think I have hit a raw nerve. Could it be sevdar shaab that you have been told too keep a lid on things –by the organ grinders about the grant. I have just spoken the honest truth!! Powar and you lot are the same. Who’s to say I am not here on your behalf cause till now I haven’t taken sides. However you have tried to discredit me when all I have done is spoken the truth how have I made matters worse. Did I start this tread? no your chamcha did! People make up your own minds!! Committee 1 or committee 2 both been to court both have armed thugs with them who is better!! I am only making matters worse for the liars and the cheats which I say are both committees. People make up your own minds!
  6. Let me ask then a straight forward question to the representative of the gurdwara has there been no allocation provisionally or other wise of a grant to the gurdwara? Or has the leaders of both sides powar and the gurdwara not told their works on ground level about it. I would suggest that both side go back and ask the organ grinders as they will shed light on this for you. In terms of a private prosecution it will cost nothing. It is a prospection taking out by any individual against another individual/organization if they feel that someone has broken the law and got away with it. It is a law designed so if the public feel the prosecution (CPS) have failed to take someone to court an individual can. So again bob let take powar to court what you say in previous statements you have said he broke the law and also the lawyers said so allegedly, lets make it happen I would be happy to see him prosecuted for all he has done to the community (this does not mean that some how the committee is better than him both are same in my eyes). Finally how you ascertained that I am with mr powar is beyond me I think both sides are a disgrace a blemish on the Birmingham community for the actions they have both undertaken. I am an individual who would like the truth to come out or then again where gurdwara politics is concerned is that too much for a member of the public to request!
  7. For proof or clarification of a grant to the gurdwara go see the council who have it with in their public domain. What did you think they were fighting over some moral issue lol? Get with it! Again why don’t you take out a private prosecution against mr powar or better still contact the director public prosecution present him your facts and findings that you have so duly noted down during the trail and show the world the truth. Rather than making false allegations on the net. Also its Sandwell metropolitan council who are giving the grant for anyone who wants to confirm. To show that I am serious contact me and I will show you how to launch private prosecution and force the director of public prosecutions to take it over and have mr powar convicted if he is guilty of perjury. This is if you are more than hot air on the net and can just make blogs with two pictures and a load of idol gossip the offer to assist you with a private prosecution is open!!!
  8. Ok bob with out taking sides I would say that the young singh who stabbed mr powar in the chest who also happened to get a not guilty verdict at the trial, now did he admit on the stand that he did stab Mr powar or do you think he lied on oath too? So now are they as bad as each other? Mmm. Ok tec9 i will answer that, how do you know that the young singh who was been Aquitted stabbed Mr Powar??? 11 people on that jury did not belive the evidence provied by the CPS (Crown Prousicution Service) and guess what was the evidence Tec9......Mr Powar. The evidence did not even contain DNA, indpendent witness testominy and video/photographic evidence to support Mr Powars claims, and Tec9 I regualry went to the court case which lasted 7 weeks and even defence council who was reperseting the son of tari kandola said out of court that there should be only one person with charges on him and that was Mr Powar for Lying So I take it Mr Powar stabbed him self then thought I will blame a random person. Powar must have thought that and got his gang to stab him so he can blame some random Singh. Sounds like the truth there! Also if you feel Mr. powar is guilty of perjury launch a private prosecution and have him convicted I am sure the CPS have all the evidence available to them too. Bob in essence you sound like a gossiper. You don’t base your assertions on truth or evidence but gossip. He said this she said that I was there he wasn’t. Pure gossip. Let me put in a bid for the two million pound contract why is it only tari and the committee can put in a bid for the grant let me also, I want to take a bit off money off the top why can the two opposing side alone try and skim money off the top. What about my gang? Or aren’t we criminal enough yet to get involved. Both sides are a bunch of criminals.

  10. Ok bob with out taking sides I would say that the young singh who stabbed mr powar in the chest who also happened to get a not guilty verdict at the trial, now did he admit on the stand that he did stab Mr powar or do you think he lied on oath too? So now are they as bad as each other? Mmm.

  12. what does the photo show? apart from groups of men standing around waiting for a fight?
  13. The point of this tread was to educate some of you but it seems to have failed. It’s not about a meat debate but to show that sikhi not just about rules and regulations it here to assist us in our ultimate goal. I feel this is too much for some people to understand and hope one day people will be able to see. I think this tread should be closed it is not about justification about eating meat and taking drugs far from it -as I am a vegetarian, the whole point seems to have been missed. I am interested in calling over some singhs from Chardikala Jatha to do a talk at my Sikh society. So they can educate us as I believe they do have a real in-depth understanding. I will extend an invite on here if any one would like to attend but do remember they give a talk justify what this tread is about> LOL. </SPAN>
  14. Very true at present we face no war so no need for these traditions. Let’s get rid of our weapons horse and all other old tradition we don’t need any more. All the people putting this point forward what shall we get rid of after the bhang? Kirpan dastar? Five leaves of cannabis would be enough to provide you with pain relief but not enough to get you high! All such conduct during war is based on morals and honour and people who suggest that we should also sleep with people’s wives shame on you. You your self feel free to sleep with how many ever people you wish we will commit no such acts!! We are a warrior race and our conduct and lives are conducted as such! My point in regards to Shuka and jinda they are regarded as heroes and no one ever has questioned them! However on here everyone is questioning all such conduct! If they were here now would you suggest they committed a sin? LOL no answer have you. Because for the preservation for the panth they gave the highest sacrifice and don’t mean just their lives!! Nangs and Nihangs are too different things we owe a lot to the nihangs for our preservation and traditions and as such I pay my respects. They are how ever let down by some who act as nangs!! Let’s learn how to make the distinction!
  15. good post bro. Thanks for that post good to see we still got hope for the panth!! I am glad people are all not so narrow minded. I placed a post saying that Sukha and Jinda had to cut their hair to under take missions but no one replied because they don’t have an answer!! I respect all of our martyrs and what ever that had to do at that time. They were better people than me, the nerve of some people to question them and what they did. Some of the posts that have been left show people would question the akhal thakt and the what the guru allowed during battle as they seem to think they know better! ))))
  16. I agree with Jassa I’m not saying you should go take drugs but at the same time and I repeat there is no doubt that Guruji allowed Singh’s to use bhang and there is no doubt that his Singh’s ate meat during war. All them who think they are better than the Sikhs who had to – because that’s what it amounts to you lot saying we are better then them Sikhs or they should not have done it- again shame on you. Shuka and Jinda cut their hair- and they had taken amrit- to under take missions! Now tell me!! Times of war a lot is permitted that many of you think Sikhs can never do. If a Singh is dying on the battle field and he can take cannabis and kill five more enemies then he should that’s why five leaves of bhang is allowed. As the two Nihangs in the video say some abuse and five leaves becomes five handfuls coupled with opium and alcohol they are the nangs not nihangs. Never for get who was the first ever Nihang!! Think before you post! 17. he's actually right... sikhi is NOT a religion.. it is a way of life... do u know the meaning behind that statement by Sant Jee? a lot of people were saying Sikhism is an offshoot (a part of) Hinduism.. Sant Jee said no, we are a diff path then them.. Sikhi is istinct... in fact, we shouldn't even refer to it is "sikhISM", since "ism" denotes it as a 'religion' so to speak... I think it was Bhai Vir Singh (or Prof. Puran Singh) who said "I have No religion, but I am a Sikh"... Sikhi is a way of life... I don’t understand why people shoot off and don’t think about topics before letting loose. Sikhism is so deep it takes many life times to understand not just one. War is a way of life and nihangs choose to live it so they practice what the guru allowed during war. You choose not to fair enough, the highest Sikh authority gives a ruling but you make your own up why? The point of starting this tread was to show people that you can not be so narrow minded but at the same time not to give up the true meaning of religion. Until you your self have been in a situation do not judge others. Get off your high horses and think before you judge. Don’t shoot off your mouths think carefully one day it will hit home. Sikhism is a way of life not religion live it!
  18. Guru ji sed rehat piari mujh ko sikh piara nahee, if a sikh had enuf sharda fr their guru they would kp rehat till the end - no meat , no drugs vjkk vjkp Guru ji sed rehat piari mujh ko sikh piara nahee, if a sikh had enuf sharda fr their guru they would kp rehat till the end - no meat , no drugs vjkk vjkp so we should listen to you not the akhal thakt! lol ok Jathadar Ji. I go with Akhal Thakt all day long (sorry) i dont eat meat but if you do feel free(no halal) i do not judge, its your relationship between god and you! Also the singhs who ate meat during battles, and is clear from evidence that they did!! you are judging them as well with that comment! shame on you!! think before you type!!!
  19. that dont prove a lot....... it means one group started a blog gainst another group and produced no evidence yet again. I heard everyone got not guilty at the crown court hearing in charges ranging from riot to firearms. Is it possible my building firm can put in a bid for the 2 million pound contact that both parties are fighting over!!!!!!!
  20. here is what akhal thakt has to say on the matter of meat: also remember that is never been questioned thats singhs in times of war used marijuana and Guruji premitted this. I am not saying it is right to use these today for social use but it is allowed in times of war. Misconceptions About Eating Meat by Sandeep Singh Brar The view of Sikhism is that eating meat or abstaining from it is the individuals choice. A Sikh is considered no lesser or greater a Sikh if they eat meat or are a vegetarian. Final Ruling from Akal Takht The Akal Takht represents the final authority on controversial issues concerning the Sikh Panth, in this regard the issue of meat eating has been settled. Hukamnama issued by Akal Takht Jathedar Sandhu Singh Bhaura dated February 15th 1980 that Amritdhari Sikhs can eat meat as long as it is jhatka meat and that eating meat does not go against the code of conduct, Kurehit, of the Sikhs. Thus a Sikh cannot be excommunicated for eating meat. The Times of the Gurus The Bani of Guru Nanak on Meat and Vegetarianism Quotes from Sri Guru Granth Sahib The Comments of Sikh Scholars Regarding Meat The Sikh Reht Maryada (The Official Code of Conduct) An Amritdhari Khalsa Sikh is not allowed to eat the meat of an animal slaughtered the Muslim way. In Punjabi the word "Kuttha" specifically means meat prepared according to the Muslim ritual slaughter. Punjabi-English Dictionary, Punjabi University, Dept. of Punjabi Lexicography, Published Dec. 1994. "Kuttha: meat of animal or fowl slaughtered slowly as prescribed by Islamic law." Punjabi English Dictionary, Singh Bros., Amritsar "Kuttha: Tortured, killed according to Mohammedan law." What is Jhatka Meat and Why? Jhatka meat is meat in which the animal has been killed quickly without suffering or religious ritual. Sikhism, A Complete Introduction, Dr. H.S.Singha & Satwant Kaur, Hemkunt Press We must give the rationale behind prescribing jhatka meat as the approved food for the Sikhs. According to the ancient Aryan Hindu tradition, only such meat as is obtained from an animal which is killed with one stroke of the weapon causing instantaneous death is fit for human consumption. However, with the coming of Islam into India and the Muslim political hegemony, it became a state policy not to permit slaughter of animals for food, in any other manner, except as laid down in the Quran - the kosher meat prepared by slowly severing the main blood artery of the throat of the animal while reciting verses from the Quran. It is done to make slaughter a sacrifice to God and to expiate the sins of the slaughter. Guru Gobind Singh took a rather serious view of this aspect of the whole matter. He, therefore, while permitting flesh to be taken as food repudiated the whole theory of this expiatory sacrifice and the right of ruling Muslims to impose iton the non-Muslims. Accordingly, he made jhatka meat obligatory for those Sikhs who may be interested in taking meat as a part of their food. Sikhs and Sikhism, Dr. I.J.Singh, Manohar Publishers. And one semitic practice clearly rejected in the Sikh code of conduct is eating flesh of an animal cooked in ritualistic manner; this would mean kosher and halal meat. The reason again does not lie in religious tenet but in the view that killing an animal with a prayer is not going to enoble the flesh. No ritual, whoever conducts it, is going to do any good either to the animal or to the diner. Let man do what he must to assuage his hunger. If what he gets, he puts to good use and shares with the needy, then it is well used and well spent, otherwise not. Why is Meat not served in Langar? The reason why meat is not served at langar in the Gurdwaras is because langar is supposed to be a symbol of equality of mankind where all people no matter what race, religion or caste can eat toghether in the atmosphere of brotherhood. Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, it does not matter who they are. Different religions have different dietary restrictions. Hindus cannot eat cow, muslims cannot eat pork and will only eat halal meat. Jews will only eat kosher meat, others cannot eat fish or eggs. But in a gurdwara langar, it does not matter what their dietary taboos or religious beliefs are, the food is designed so that all can eat together and no one will be offended or not be able to partake of the meal. http://www.sikhs.org/meat.htm
  21. Go educate your self it is stated in many a place that in guruji army they used cannabis and also ate meat in times of war. They also ate bark and used drugs to digest the things they ate. The reason people find it so hard to comprehend is because they are so narrow minded. Sikhi is not a religion but a way of life!! Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a Nihang so was baba deep singh ji seriously go educate your selves in your OWN history.
  22. This will give some insight into why meat and drugs was used by Sikhs. This is not to start a debate but to educate some of you, so think before you reply to this topic!!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Pirk-LO9Vnw
  23. The old chai/pani for the baraat issue, just another reason for pakhand really. Never understood why the rules change for the baraat, why does a langar hall become a dinning hall when it comes to feeding the baraat ? not having a pop at hitchin, but making a general comment about the misuse of the langar hall during the chai/pani routine. Just be glad people have started to return to having lungar in the gurdwara after the Anand Karaj normally it's off to the 'hall' for booze and meat after the gurdwara or if this is not provided a public house is always within walking distance for alcohol. The one point I think a lot of people forget is the gurdwara in this country do need money to run and the donations are required from all Sikhs baptised and non baptised so it seems they are making it more accessible for all and if its not doing disrespectful behaviour (drink meat dancing half naked women etc etc) what's the harm. Also one other quick point I have just checked out the gurdwara web site and the gurdwara seems to be a ‘chardi cula’ why has the topic started picked out the negativity from the web site why not commend the good stuff which obviously out numbers the bad. I wish to congratulate the committee of this gurdwara for doing a good job. Nice one!
