How do we know the jathedar of the Akal Thakat is not controlled by RSS? How do we know your not RSS or that I am not RSS, we dont! Thats not to say that this person is just plucked out of thin air. Perhaps if you researched into how the jathedars are selected you would have your answer, like I said before I dont pretend to know everything about the selection of Jathedars.

See that is where you seem to contradict yourself, There were the Guru sahibs and bhagat etc that were in human form that contributed and created Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. But your forgetting that Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been COMPLETED and the Jot of the 10 Guru Sahibs is now eternally in Guru Maharaj. There leaves no room for baba x to come in and pretend to run the show.

He is hardly a mini guru because unlike the kookay babas no one bows to him and gives second place to Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. The reason why a person is made a Jathedar is based on their jeevan and sewa that they have done. And dont be mistaken I dont pretend to understand the full reasons behind a person being the Jathedar. But as he speaks on behalf of the whole Sikh panth his decisions are at the best interest of the Panth and no one has the right to undermine him or any Hukamnama issued by the Akal Thakt.

The Akal Thakt is a management body for the running of the Gurughar, yes. But the decisions made by the Akal Thakt are taken by the Jathedar on behalf of the WHOLE Sikh Panth, including the SGPC.

What are you some sort of kirtan maestro that you have God given right to judge someones kirtan? No thought not. It doesnt have to be done by mainstream kirtani to qualify as raag kirtan. It isnt a popularity contest.

Kookay arent the only ones who can teach or rather know raag vidiya. Stop trying to be the saviours of raag kirtan. Kookay were excommunicated from the Panth and that was Akaal Purakhs Hukam.

why should it have been done at all? this is a disgrace and i hope they recieve tough sentences for their crimes. they killed someone for having different beliefs and practices from themselves. this is precisely the reason so many sikhs were martyred because they didnt not want to change their religion to islam and now some sikhs are doing the same to other people! this is shocking and disgracefull. No see your missing the point they can practise what they want and how they want, but to disrespect Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is completely wrong! and Sikhs have made a stance and will not stand for it. Its one thing following your own faith and its something completely different if your are disrespecting someone else's belief's in such a major way. For Sikhs Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the most important thing and NO BEADBI will be tolerated.

When Darshan Das was shot in southall it was when he was parading around the streets when the two Mahaan Gursikhs shot him down. Sometimes a public show is what people need to be woken up or at least rattled. May Waheguru look after the Gursikhs that tried to protect their Fathers honour!

I see where your coming from. Yes you are right, and it needs to be established from the gurdwara in question directly. However, someone above says that the committee were shocked by the news. So surely it is time for some reform? One of the main issues is that the matrimonial service is operating partly within the gurdwara. So, don't the committee, senior members etc, know it was going on? Remember, I am not instigating merely posing the question. One thing that I can tell you about the committee is that they dont all know exactly what goes on in all respects of the Gurughar. Some focus on their one given responsibility and that is it. There are 21 committee members some retired members spend all day there whereas others employed come in when they can. They should know what is going on in the Gurughar. The committee do know that the matrimonial service takes place etc as it happens in Havelock Rd Library. However they dont regulate or control it. The service is provided by outsiders. You are right the committee should have more control over the events associated with it. This is the real issue, the committee need to keep a closer eye on outside groups operating in the Gurdwara.

Please do not apologise I am not at all insulted. And I am not calling you a liar. I am simply trying to understand what the issue is, there is no reason to investigate the matter. The event has taken place the only thing to do is tell the committee that the Sangat is unhappy that it took place as it encourages mixed marriage between Sikhs and Hindus. Your original post seems to try and tackle the major issue of Sikhs marrying out of the faith: which would be impossible on an online forum and on the other hand blatantly blaming the Gurdwara for the event: I mean to say if you havent contaced the Gurdwara how can you blame them. Hello. Earth to 1kAuR1. It was an event for meeting other people for the purpose of marraige. Is this ok? Understood? Perhaps I am speaking french, YOU went to this event where there were Hindus and Sikhs. What did YOU (Wake_Up) do? Did you sit around see what was happening and raise your concerns with the organisers? OR did YOU sit around have your 3 course meal, check out a few gals and go home. You are asking the sangat for support when YOU havent done anything worth supporting or rather suggested anything worth supporting.

Well, who knows? The poor chap seems confused as to what the issue is and what we should do. There is hardly anything we can do seeing as it has happened. Im sure Navraj Singh and Mandeep Singh will be able to prevent it happening again. Surely that is obvious, as I have stated already what this is about, please read carefully. I will do so again. This is about having non-Sikhs on a matrimonial service which is partly run at the gurdwara. The committee themselves may not know, or have suspected anything or knew about non-Sikhs being on the list. However, one poster claims the committee may have known and their own feelings were not positive to that news. Just like you posted about the cult in Vienna, the incident is now the past. Shall we not do anything? Should we continue as normal. Should the journalists around the globe not be informed that they are misinforming the entire world about Sikhs, with their misguided reports. What we can do, is make sure that this does not happen on the list again. Whoever IS in charge of the Matrimonials should they not be investigated? I also appeal to other Sikhs who attended the event beit helpers or those taking part, to verify that this happened. All that seems to be clear is that you dont want this happening again, so perhaps getting people together meeting the Gurdwara committee and telling them your concerns. And on no level does this equate to the Vienna issue, lets not get carried away. And you havent said what you did at the event as you seem so upset by it?

So perhaps more details on the event are needed, as you attended what did you do at the event? Speak to the organisers? Raise your concerns? You outlined two issues firstly the fact that Sikh girls in some cases are finding partners outside of Sikhi and your concerned. The second that the Gurughar should not allow these events to be associated with them. On which issue are you asking for the Sangats support? You would have the support of the Sangat if they knew what you are asking of them.

Wake_Up- you have created a topic on the thread, posted links for the evidence and attended the event. Why did you not walk into the Gurughar and go and see the committee and get it all cleared up beforehand? or even posted beforehand. The event has happened the Gurughar cant take back what happened. I am confused as to what exactly you would like Sikh Sangat users to do?

Rather than just bashing one cult or group it gives SS the opportunity to look at each of these cults and be more informed into their practices. As they say there will always be one (or more!) who will be negative or put you off etc, but dont pay attention.

Dont know anything about themto be honest but cult should really give taht away. The second is a nihung smagam video, They are singing aarti as all Bani is written in raag to music, the line when they throw flowers is the line saying "Phulan ki baraka barakave" This means to shower with flowers. This part of the aarti was written by Guru Gobind SIngh Ji Maharaj and can be found in Gur Dasam Darbar ang 183. You can see it within many of the world faiths and cultures that giving flowers or showering flowers on someone is a sign of respect. They are showing their respect by showering Maharaj with flowers. But to understand that you need to BELIEVE that Maharaj is Maharaj because of his qualities not just by name.
