  1. On the front page on Hindustan Times of the day there is an article captioned as per the subject. Ruled out. Patiala pugilist , a devout Sikh , not ready to shorn hair. Going by the IABA rules, representing India will always remain a dream for Junior National Champion Pushpinder Singh. A boxer in an international meet, as per the rules, has to be clean shaven on grounds that contact with an opponents facial hair could lead to an injury. But, the Patiala pugilist , a devout Sikh, says he is not ready to cut his beard at any cost and is ready to let the opportunity slip out of his hand. Pushpinder recently won gold in the 91+ weight category in the Junior National Championship held at Nagpur and is among the probables for the Youth Commonwealth Games to be held in India later this year. "In India we have never had any problem in competing even while sporting beard but according to IABA rules , no one with a beard is allowed to take part in any international boxing competition. I want IABA to amend its rules for Sikhs'" says Pushpinder. He says the Nagpur meet organizers did tell him about the IABA rules but allowed him to participate in the Nationals nevertheless. Coach Harpreet Singh says the National Boxing Association always allows Sikh boxers to compete while sporting beards. "But we want that the IABA should also allow us , otherwise representing the Country will remain a dream for many Sikh boxers." SAD Leader Harmail Singh Tohra, who is related to the Boxer , had demanded an amendment to this rule. He says this issue would be brought to the notice of the PM and Sports Minister. I don't think this rule is right as I've boxed in school and the opponent getting injured by the beard is ludicrous. What about boxers who have a very heavy growth of body hair? Viewing the area isn't the chance of injury much more? Why not allow Sikh boxers with 'jaalis' on their beards? I've written to Sikh Coalition to ask themfor their aid.
  2. Thanks a lot!!!! :goodpost: It really hekped me, especially these two thoughts: - "let the buyer beware" - This is also the law of nature. coz nature also has positivies and negativities and its all upto us to be aware of its dangers(negativities). _scorpio1234, Fateh. They say quantity always follows quality. In fact I think in business if you are truthful you tend to be more successful. Please stay away from Office Politics as its just ninda and chugli ( criticism and back biting). One more thing try to be positive. I feel successful businessmen are positive people. And please keep this adage in mind: Jhoote ka mooh kaala aur sachche ka boll baala (the perosn who lies his or her face is blackened and the person who is truthful is respected) Guru Rakha
  3. 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots took place in India after the assassination of Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984. India's Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two of her Sikh guards acting in the aftermath of Operation Bluestar. Over the next four days nearly 3000 Sikhs were massacred in systematic riots planned and led by Congress activists and sympathizers. The then Congress government was widely criticized for doing very little at the time, if not acting as a conspirator, especially since voting lists were used to identify Sikh families. The then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, son of Indira Gandhi allegedly made a statement "When a big tree falls, the earth is bound to shake" on the Sikh carnage. His widow, Sonia Gandhi and current President of the Congress Party, officially apologized in 1998 for the events of November, 1984. The most affected regions were neighborhoods in Delhi. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Image:Delhi09.jpg http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Image:Delhi09.jpg The Devil Of evil on people It is alleged that the anti-Sikh violence were conducted at the behest of the Congress party who actually instigated masses. Many ordinary Indians of different religious dispositions made significant efforts to hide and help Sikh families as outlined in affidavits of Sikh victims and have been active in seeking appropriate justice On November 1, 1984, a huge mob from the suburbs of Delhi descended on various localities where the Sikh were mainly concentrated. They carried iron rods, knives, clubs, and combustible material, including kerosene. They had voters' lists of houses and business establishments belonging to the Sikhs. The mobsters swarmed into Sikh homes. Sikh men, women and children were brutally killed. Their shops and houses were ransacked and burned. The mobsters stopped buses and trains, in and out of Delhi, pulling out Sikh passengers to be lynched or doused with kerosene and burnt. The Police played a very dubious role and so as to give the rioters a clear filed the Police disarmed Sikhs in various localities. Riot victim Many Commission have been appointed but the perpetrators have somehow evaded being convicted. Congress has protected them and appointed them to Office in the Government. One of the individuals who has been able to evader the law is Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who was at that time very close to the Gandhi family. Amitabh Bachchan or Big B is alleged to have aided and abetted the 1984 rioters. Amitabh's Bachchans role in the 1984 riots: Babu Singh Dukhia, a resident of Tirlok Puri in Delhi, claimed there were eyewitnesses that saw Amitabh Bachchan inciting mobs to avenge the death of Indira Gandhi. The documentary says Amitabh Bachchan was clearly involved in inciting mobs and was heard saying "khoon ka badla khoon" at the funeral of late Indira Gandhi. Amitabh Bachchan who is a Bollywood (India's Hollywood) Star is alleged to have had a role in aiding and abetting the 1984 riots. In 1984 Amitabh Bachchan was very close to the Gandhi family as Gandhi and Bachchan's parents were very close to the Gandhi family for decades. Amitabh Bachchan was very close to Rajiv Gandhi, who even got Amitabh to enter politics. You can say that during Rajiv Gandhis's term as PM Amitabh Bachchan was in the thick of things. It is alleged that Amitabh Bachchan post Indira Gandhi's assassination coaxed mobs to attack Sikhs saying 'Sikhs have killed our mother and should be taught a lesson.' The Bachchan family is embarking on a World Tour, Stage Shows, called the Unforgettable Tour and it will commence in June 2008. They will be performing in UK, USA and Canada. Sikhs should protest Bachchans coming to their Cities. Try to get the local Media involved and let the Public know of the heinous crime this man has aided and abetted. Sikhs should attend his Press Confrences and question him on his role in the 1984 riots. Distribute flyers that give information of the 1984 riots and also Bachchan's role. Sikhs should hold peaceful demonstrations outside the Hotels the Bachchan's stay in and outside the Venues where these shows are held. Fact is Justice has failed in the 1984 riots matter. At least let those alleged to have been behind the riots know that we have not forgiven or forgotten their cruel past and also unmask these people in front of the World. My only request is that there should be no violence. http://www.neverforget84.com/ ( you can get the pictures from Sikhiwiki or the above metioned Site)
  4. Exactly ! Read what you have written. Raju Ji, Fateh His Mom lived in Mumbai in Prateeksha. From where is she identified as a Sikh? Her surname is Bachchan and she sported bob cut hair. Her sons are not Sikhs. What are you talking about? And for God's sake today one may 'lol' on my request. But please do remember because of these people's role in the riots many Sikhs 'col' (cried out loudly). My request is please do not get infatuated or enamoured by his 'reel' life roles. He was just acting. He's proved he is is very good actor but a very poor human being. Guru Rakha Even Amitabh could have been targeted by unruly mobs roaming the streets. His parents lived in Delhi and everyone knew his mother was Sikh.
  5. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh I don't think its that simplistic. These people went out and instigated the riots. They were all pals of Rajiv Gandhi aka Mr. Big Tree shaking the ground. And as it was anticipated that Rajiv Gandhi would take over all wanted to score brownie points with him. And they knew Rajiv Gandhi was looking for revenge. Guru Rakha
  6. MOD EDIT Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh The ancestors of the people who are objecting to Sikhs protesting with unsheathed Kirpans had no objections when Sikhs raised their Kirpans against Islamic forces to fight agianst Islamic oppression of Hindus or against the British Raaj during the Idependence movement. Point to be noted is there no fatalities on account of the Kirpans in Mumbai. And please do remember when justice is not delivered people do take law into their own hands. This Dera Chief has been thumbing his nose at the law for some time. Guru Rakha
  7. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh. Please view these links: http://www.hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/St...ts%2C+says+film http://www.sikhpress.com/story/371 http://sikhsinkuwait.wordpress.com/2007/12...-under-scanner/ http://www.twocircles.net/2007nov23/sikh_g...200_others.html Hope truth previals and this man is brought to book. Guru Rakha
  8. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh. Please do inform Gurudwaras in your area about this. Flyers which give details of 1984 riots and Bachchan's role in the riots would indeed be effective. Please do keep in mind that some people may not agree. Problem is many people get infatuated with the reel life of actors. Fact is between reel and real life there is a big difference. Just today Bachchan's wife has got a Notice from India's Election Commission for hiding her property details. The detial she did not reveal was the property that gave Bachchan the Farmer title. Please view this link for detials: http://www.ibnlive.com/news/jaya-gets-ec-n...ls/67694-3.html Guru Rakha
  9. have you got proof to back up what you said? Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh Jagdish Tytler too says that he comes from a Sikh family. He was adopted by Jagdish Tytler. I had posted queries on Big B's involvement in the riots on his blog. First he ignored my posts and then ultimately he responded. He too mentioned about his Suri background and ended saying that he would not tolerate such unsecular messages on his blog. He did not refute my allegation. His mother does not come from Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 'ansh'. And jsut for your info she was a heavy smoker and drinker. And Big B is used to suing at the drop of a hat. He has not sued the person who has made the allegation that he was involved in the riots. Viewing the circumstantial evidence, his closeness to the Gandhi family, his involvement in various Deals and the involvement of all those who were close to Rajiv Gandhi right from Arun Nehru to Kamlanath in aiding and abetting the riots, I have no doubts he was involved. One must keep in mind that these actors are not the same in real life as they are in reel life. Big B has recently been involved in a lot of controversies that had dented his reputation. Guru Rakha

  11. Saad Sangath Ji, Gurfateh. He was very peturbed by ' Raaj karre ga Khalsa' slogans. Sadly he did knot know the real meaning. Please do remeber that he recently demanded that Hindus for Fidayeen Groups. I emailed a letter to him : Quote Balasahib, I know you are not used to people questioning your diktats, but I must. You need a crash course in History. Check the following out: 1/ Just a few thousand and in some cases a few hundred marauders used attack Hindu kingdoms and take with them Hindu women as slaves. Sikhs putting their lives at peril used to attack these marauders and free the Hindu women and return them to their families. As humans usually are lazy at 12 noon and deep in slumber at midnight ( in those days people slept got up early) Sikhs used to attack these marauders at these times and just see how do Hindus pay Sikhs back for this favor? They crack 12 o’clock jokes! 2/ Sikh Gurus and their Sikhs stood up as a shield against Muslim oppression of Hindus. Guru Arjun Sahib , Guru Tegh Bahadur, four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji were martyred as they did not bow to Mughal oppression. I can assure you that had the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji accepted Islam today the History of India would not be the same. A poet has written: Agar hothe na Guru Gobind Singh toh hothi sunnat sabh ki. If you ask me Sis Ganj Sahib Gurudwara and Fategarh Sahib should be places of pilgrimage for Hindus. 3/ Take a trip to Andaman or Kaala Paani as it was known during the British rule. Read the names of the Indians who lost their lives. You’ll find that Sikhs who are just 2% of India ’s population gave the maximum number of sacrifices. 4/ Check out the wars independent India has fought and you’ll again find that Sikhs lead in lives laid down for India or Matra Bhoomi. You must take a trip to Punjab and then you will understand the true love for the motherland. Where the fear of death is expunged at a young age , where mothers instill bravery and anakh (self respect) in their kids. These brave Kaurs ( Princesses – female Sikhs) when there is carpet firing going on they venture out of their homes to deliver food to the Jawans on the front. As I see it your knowledge of history is horrendous but you seem to be good in geography, because you seem to roar in Maharashtra and purr elsewhere. All the best Unquote
