  1. http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/31285-correct-date-please/?p=297260 We contacted someone who is pro in these matters. ----------------------- Here's his viewpoint on this topic: Here I take some quotes from the article “Why I am Atheist” supposedly written Bhagat Singh and try to bring out falsies/inaccuracies, which could not have come from Bhagat Singh’s pen. This document seems to be a doctored one. Quote: “My grandfather under whose influence I was brought up is an orthodox Arya Samajist. An Arya Samajist is anything but an atheist. After finishing my primary education I joined the D.A.V. School of Lahore and stayed in its Boarding House for full one year. There, apart from morning and evening prayers, I used to recite "Gayatri Mantra" for hours and hours. I was perfect devotee in those days. Later on I began to live with my father. He is a liberalinas much as the orthodoxy of religions is concerned. It was through his teachings that I aspired to devote my life to the cause of freedom. But he is not an atheist. He is a firm believer. He used to encourage me for offering prayers daily. So this how I was brought up. In the Non-Cooperation days I joined the National College. It was there that I began to think liberally and discuss and criticize all the religious problem, even about God. But still I was a devout believer. By that time I had begun to preserve the unshorn and unclipped long hair but I could never believe in the mythology and doctrines of Sikhism or any other religion. But I had a firm faith in God's existence.” Comments: Bhagat Singh’s Grandfather was a Sikh not Arya Samajist. Bhagat Singh’s father and Uncle Sardar Ajit Singh were taken to Anadpur Sahib to take Pahul (Amrit Chakana). It is not mentioned here as what prayers his father asked him to recite. The fact that Sardar Kishan Singh father of Bhagat Singh was Amritdhari is not mentioned. In support here is a quote from Ajit Singh’s Autobiography Amrit As a kid I was taken along with my elder brother to Anandpur for the performance of the ceremony of Sikh Baptism which is called Pohal or Amrit chhakna. It was the time of Holi festival which the Sikhs, after their masculine fashion, call Hola. I remember very well the sugar water given to us as a drink for making us Singhs and immortals, A part of it was sprinkled on the faces as a sign of sanctification. This ceremony teaches the person who undergoes ti not to fear death, and to fight against the oppressors, tyrants and the unjust people and to protect the weak, the poor, the old, the children and womenfolk from all sorts of molestation. From that day onward one has to be pure in body and heart. This is why the Sikhs are called Khalsa i.e. pure. After the ceremony is performed those having out-wardly an appearance of the Khalsa but having their hearts and sometime their bodies too full of impurities are a disgrace to the panth and to the sacred cause. [This was] preached by the Guru. On the Hola festival a red colour substance known as Gulal was thrown on the faces and clothes of people joining the festival. It appeared quite lovely to see people with new clothes, faces and bodies besmeared with the red colour, going to Anandpur on a festival for the ceremony of Pohal. Our family from the time of the tenth Guru always took the male members there. full article will be up on sikhchronicle.com
  2. http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/52322-bhagat-singh-and-the-truth/?p=455635 correct date please Posted by: Mehtab Singh (IP Logged) Date: October 04, 2007 11:47AM According to Jail Chithiyaan, Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh ji met Bhagat Singh on October 4, 1930, which was exactly 77 years ago from today as today its October 4, 2007. Bhagat Singh wrote an article "Why I am an atheist" and the date given is October 5-6, 1930. I ran a number of searches on Google and a number of sources have the date as October 5-6, 1930. Certain sources also say that Bhai Sahib lost his temper and failed to convince Bhagat Singh, and said to him "You are giddy with fame and have developed and ago which is standing like a black curtain between you and the God". It is believed that Bhagat Singh wrote "Why I am an atheist" in response to Bhai Sahib. I need the correct date as to when did Bhagat Singh actually wrote that article, as the media and historians use their dates to discredit Bhai Sahib. Jail Chithiyaan states the meeting took place on October 4, 1930, and so the article should have been written before that date, not after as what has been fed to the world. Re: correct date please Posted by: Mehtab Singh (IP Logged) Date: October 05, 2007 05:09AM Anyone have any idea about the date? I am asking because this is something which is of concern. Bhai Sahib says it was October 4, 1930 at 6:00 PM, and most other sources on Bhagat Singh, some of which don't even his meeting with Bhai Sahib have the date of Bhagat Singh's article as October 5-6, 1930. There is a clear contradiction and we have to find a real date that should be before October 5-6, 1930, otherwise those guys can get away with their argument that Bhai Sahib failed to convince him, and so Bhagat Singh wrote his article on atheism the very next day after he met Bhai Sahib. So please understand the seriousness of the contradiction and find me the actual date. Re: correct date please Posted by: kulbir singh (IP Logged) Date: October 05, 2007 11:55AM If Jail Chithiaan is saying that date is October 4 then what can we say. What we can question is that date Communists claim the article to have been written. How do they know that the date is the night of Oct 5 and 6? One striking thing about Bhagat Singh's last days is that his hair were six inches long. Why would an atheist grow hair? If he did not believe in Sikhi why did he not cut his hair? The granthi who performed the last rites of Bhagat Singh said in a statement that Bhagat Singh's hair were 6 inches long when he died. What Bhai Sahib has written about Bhagat Singh in Jail Chithiaan book cannot be false because Bhai Sahib was a Sachiyaar (honest, truthful) Sikh who would never write anything false. Bhai Sahib has mentioned that Bhagat Singh agreed in the end that he would never die i.e. Bhagat Singh expressed his belief in aatma (soul). Are we suggesting that Bhai Sahib was lying? No one would dare say that Bhai Sahib used to lie. One one hand Bhai Sahib has written naming Bhagat Singh and on the other hand Bhagat Singh has not mentioned Bhai Sahib's name. How can the Communists claim that in his article, "Why I am an Atheist", Bhagat Singh is indeed talking about Bhai Sahib? How can they be so sure that the article was written on the night of Oct 5th? Bhagat Singh has not mentioned this in his article. So how do they know about the date. Bhagat Singh has not named Bhai Sahib in his article. Then how can they claim that he is referring to Bhai Sahib? Kulbir Singh Re: correct date please Posted by: Mehtab Singh (IP Logged) Date: October 05, 2007 03:33PM You have some strong points Bhai Kulbir Singh ji. I read "Why I am an atheist" a long time back, and yes you are right it doesn't mention Bhai Sahib anywhere. Bhagat Singh was martyred on the evening of March 23, 1931, which is more than 5 months after he met Bhai Sahib, so he obviously stopped cutting his kesh after meeting Bhai Sahib. Another striking fact is that he admitted to Bhai Sahib that he was an atheist, and since he experienced a transformation after meeting Bhai Sahib on October 4, 1930, the next day October 5, 1930 which is when he supposedly wrote "Why I am an atheist" doesn't make sense and is contradictory. Thank you for shedding light Re: correct date please Posted by: Khalsaspirit (IP Logged) Date: October 05, 2007 03:33PM Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh Khalsa jio, There were efforts by those INAKLAB ZINDABADI (COM NASHAT) groups to discredit Bhai Sahib's meeting. We think reason was not to discredit the Bhai Sahib but to Shaheed Bhagt Singh's admittance for his mistake. If at time Bhagat Singh's admittance would had become popular then COM NASAT's were in fear of revolt within the party so they raised this proganda with their popular media. Any way truth can not be hide. We also read in a news paper about 2 years ago that the meeting was also confirmed by a british historian. We do not have that specifics for this news now, We think we should realy keep that news. Earth is round, we will get that information again. Bottom line is stay away from propaganda and trust in Bhai Sahib and Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Guru Mehar Karay Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh Re: correct date please Posted by: Mehtab Singh (IP Logged) Date: October 08, 2007 01:00PM One Gurmukh pyara on Sikhsangat forum posted this: Sahib Magazine, (a punjabi magazine published from the UK) had a special issue commerating Bhagat Singhs Shaheedi in March 2007. According to the Articles by people in that Bhagat Singh NEVER wrote that article. According to the article, There was a deal with Gandhi and the British to release all Political prisoners from jail. The Britsh however did not class Bhagat Singh as a political prisoner but as a terrorist (throwing bombs in assembly and the murder of sanders)!! As a terrorist He was not allowed any facilities which were available to political prisoners. These included books, paper writing material. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh WAS a political Prisoner. They mention that political prisoners who were allowed these facilities, including themself, still had their letters censored, books seized and writing materials taken away. The theory goes that Bhagat Singh did not write that article or any other as he was not allowed to!!! Instead, Comrades (Communists) who planned to outline Bhagat Singh as one of them and a follower of Arya Samaj wrote these articles and used Bhagat singh's name!! (Just so you know, communists don't believe in God) According to Sources, Bhagat Singh accepted his mistake for cutting his hair and after meeting Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji, Bhagat Singh decided to grow his hair back!! Hope this helps...At the end of the day, this MAY just be a theory!!! ( This can be found at http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/31285-correct-date-please/?p=292920 ) Re: correct date please Posted by: Death (IP Logged) Date: October 10, 2007 02:13AM Haven't you guys read the book? Bhagat Singh began believing in God after Bhai sahib ji convinced him. Bhagat singh also realised the bhai sahib ji had seen God so he too starting believing in Him. The reason he didn't wear kakaars was because Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji told him to remain like that. Why? he was an athiest, and bhai sahib ji knew that the kakaars will do nothing for him if he did not believe in God - Guru Gobind Singh explains this, that without being pure internally, by keeping the internal rehit, the outer rehit is nothing. Guru Ji gives an example of this by placing a tiger skin on a donkey and sending it into a village. Anyway, Bhai Sahib ji then knew that he would have to convince him to believe in God, and so he did. It is explained in the book that bhagat ji went into a trance, went for bhai sahib's feet but then fell unconscious. When he awoke he finally believed in God, a afterlife, and the existence of a soul. Bhai Sahib ji finally told him that he will be reborn as a human.
  3. Many lives could have been saved if Sikhs had paid attention to Sant Jee's bachans asking them to remain shastardhari.
  4. Veer that is correct. Even in Sir Alama Iqbal's sheyr it doesn't make any reference to the fact that Vaheguru asks permission from anyone. Infact he says that a bhagat should elevate himself/herself to such a spiritual level that Vaheguru asks him/her for his/her wish. Fact is, the supreme power to say YES or NO still is in Vaheguru's hands.
  5. Thanks for emphasizing that bhenji, else all us Singhs would get branded as God knows what!
  6. So once again, I repeat, before you hate them back just the way they hate Sikhs, try to reach out to people with compassion. You never know how many more you could add to the list above. If not, you know better how to deal with them. Good luck!

  8. Swami Ram Tirath Dandi Sanyasi (aka Ram Tirath Singh)(31 August 1897 - 12 May 1977) was born in Brahmin family at Tohra village in Patiala, Punjab India. Swami Ram Tirath was a very famous scholar on Hindu culture and religion. He once studied the Sikh scriptures and was so inspired that he himself became a Sikh. He wrote a book entitled, "Sarvotam Dharam Granth - Siri Guru Granth Sahib te Sarvotam Dharam - Khalsa Panth", meaning the best scripture is Guru Granth Sahib ji and the best religion is the Khalsa Panth. Later in life he got baptised into the Sikh faith. " After having studied the scriptures, in many respects I have discarded the Vedas, Shastras, Smiritis, all Sutras, Tantras and Puranas, knowing them to be polluted and corrupted by many impurities. I have found that only the Holy Guru Granth Sahib is completely free of contamination and knowing it to be benevolent for the whole humanity, I have accepted this scripture and I accept myself to be the Sikh of Guru Nanak Dev, therefore I am a Sikh of the Guru." http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Swami_Ram_Tirath_Dandi_Sanyasi
  9. This is what our "leaders" are doing SGPC let me down, says Tamil Sikh Indian Express - 31 October 2000 SGPC let me down, says Tamil Sikh AMRITSAR, OCT 30: Kandasamy Singh, a Tamil who adopted the Sikh faith is running from pillar to post to collect his dues standing against Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). He was appointed a parcharak (religious preacher) by the former president of the SGPC, Gurcharan Singh Tohra. He said that when he went to the SGPC office today, the officials refused to talk to him saying the president who appointed him had been changed and his name had been deleted from the list. Kandasamy who lodged a written complaint with the SGPC president and sent a copy to the secretary, said that he was astonished to see the behaviour of the SGPC officials.``I was appointed parcharak by Tohra who asked me to propagate the tenets of Sikhism in the distant land of Tamils. I organised various Guru Ka Langars in the rural areas and also operated a mobile library in Marai Malai Nagar in Tamil Nadu but I was told today that my name had been deleted because the president had been changed,'' he said. He further disclosed that he was influenced by Sikhism and adopted the religion in 1996 when he came to see his brother in Delhi who was a tailor in Karol Bagh."I was eager to visit the Golden Temple and came here in 1998. I met Tohra who was so impressed with my conviction that he asked me if I could take up the task of teaching Sikhism in my native state. I accepted his offer and even underwent training in the Gurudwara here and at Chandigarh,'' he said. He further said that Tohra promised to give him Rs 4000 per month for the expenditure on various promotional activities. "But I was so engrossed with the propagation work that I never demanded any money and today when I approached the secretary of SGPC, Gurbachan Singh Bachan, he refused to talk to me. When I approached the officials of Dharam Parchar Committee (DPC) they embarrassed me by saying they do not know English and I should talk to them in Punjabi instead,'' he said. He said that he was going to meet Simranjeet Singh Mann at his village tomorrow and would also lodge a complaint with the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. "I am an advocate by profession and was delighted to adopt the Sikh way of life but the attitude of the SGPC and of the DPC was astonishing. Instead of rewarding me for my translation of Sikh history into Tamil I was meted out humiliating treatment in the committee office,'' he said. When Contacted Gurbachan Singh Bachan, Secretary, SGPC, said that he did not remember meeting Kandasamy Singh but he would definitely go through the complaint letter written to the president. "It is wrong to say that he was meted out such treatment because he was appointed by a former president. There is more than 90 per cent of the preachers appointed by Tohra and it did not mean that we would treat them discriminately. I would personally look into the matter and his grievances would be redressed,'' said Bachan. http://www.newtosikhi.com/profiles/blogs/sgpc-let-me-down-says-tamil Oh and by the way, this Tamil Singh is no more. He died a Sikh! http://www.lawyersclubindia.com/news/SC-issues-notice-to-EC-402.asp
  10. Your purpose might be to hate them back because they hate Sikhs, my purpose is to have more such people as shown below. A Hindu boy originally from Bihar and grew up in Punjab ended up becoming a Singh. PHILLAUR, Punjab (January 25, 2014)—Recently, in the Village of Phillaur, Khera, at Gurwara Shaheeda Singhan there was a turban tying competition. The centre of attention was a 16 year old amritdhari contestant who had converted to Suraj Singh from Suraj Kumar. Many at the competition were shocked at the story he narrated about his conversion to Sikhi. His story raised concerns on the inner workings of the Sikhs’ top governing body, the SGPC , which works for the welfare of Sikhs and whose budget is more than that of the regional government. Suraj Singh said at Gurwara Shaheeda Singhan, that he and his mother sacrificed a lot for him to receive Amrit baptism, wherein his father divorced his mother and also left them homeless. Not only this, after the incident, no one amongst his relatives talks to them. He said his family looks at him with scorn. Suraj Singh, is the son of Satan Bhagat, resident of Lallu Nagar, District Kathiar, Bihar Hall, who is now residing at Punjab Village, Khanori. When he was 6 months old, his family came to Punjab to earn a living as laborers. When he grew up, he was sent to the government school of Khanori. When he was older, one of the students gifted him the biography of Guru Gobind Singh. After reading it, he was so inspired, that he decided to become a Sikh of the Guru. During this time, he stopped trimming his hair. Due to poverty, his parents did not take things seriously and meanwhile his grandmother passed away. Due to this, Suraj was surrounded by many hardships because according to their custom, if anyone in the family dies, all boys of the house have to trim their hair—a custom against Sikh values. Initially, Suraj revolted against this, but when nobody in his family supported him, he ran away from home and hid at a Gurdwara Sahib in Khloti. To abide by the custom, the family kept on searching for Suraj Singh before his grandmother’s cremation, but they could not find him for 2 months. When they found him after 2 months, he had received Amrit and was Suraj Singh now. Suraj Singh’s mother is a laborer in the village to earn a living for both of them. Only Suraj Singh’s classmate Jaskaran Singh, and another villager, Gurdeep Singh have helped them. Reports from locals say that Suraj Singh was taken to SGPC President Avtar Makkar to seek help but he was turned away immediately. Suraj Singh did not get turned off from Sikhi after this incident, but rather he is studying and spreading the word about Sikhism in different villages—he is becoming an example for Sikhs. Suraj Singh said that in today’s modern world boys from the Sikh community consider turban and long hair out of style—they trim their hair and use tobacco and other intoxicating substances. He feels that Sikh youth should consider their religion the best. By looking at Suraj Singh’s love and passion for the religion, NRI Satnam Singh Khera from Canada, awarded him a cash prize. http://www.sikh24.com/2014/01/25/suraj-kumar-to-suraj-singh-story-of-a-young-gursikh/#.VBGciPldWmA And trust me, this is where it hurts those Sikh haters the most! Well done SGPC!
  11. And how many have you ever tried talking to about Sikhi or Sikh history? How many have you put to shame each time they cracked a Sardar joke? How many noses have you broken each time they made fun of your dastar (if you wear one that is)?Or do you just come online and vent your frustration instead of dealing head on with real people? Trust me, its not that hard. Once you start you can filter out the good and the bad. Few among the good might come into the fold of the Khalsa as well. I can speak from personal experience as I know Punjabi Hindus more closely than any of you guys ever will (and you guys know very well how and why). A good number of them carry all the traits listed above, no doubt about that. Yes they are arrogant, disrespectful (especially the Delhi breed), and don't care about anyone getting offended. But the point I am trying to make is very simple. If you want more people coming into Sikhi, you have to be the one to initiate the discussion with compassion and without humiliating someone for who/what he/she is. If the guy doesn't get it, feel free to beat the lights out of him. But atleast take your chances by trying to speak out the truth. Again, based on personal experience, 8 out of 10 won't give a damn, but I'd still take my chances with those 2 who would be willing to listen. Perhaps those 2 will end up as better GurSikhs than the ones who have unfortunately become leaders of the qaum. Guru Sahib changed people like Sajjan Thug, like Kauda Rakshash. A number of Muslims who came to fight Guru Sahib ended up at His feet. Brahmins who came seeking refuge (Pandit Kirpa Ram), and those who acted out of sheer arrogance (Lal Chand Peshauria), all ended up becoming not just Singhs but Shaheeds. How did Guru Sahib do this? Through compassion! We claim to be Sikhs of such a Guru but cannot take down a few arrogant low lives? Next time, for a change, try using the compassion weapon first, whether its a Hindu or Muslim, or anyone. If they still disrespect Sikhi, then make sure they don't go back in one piece. Stop listening to someone who tells you "falaane folks do this". The same happens to our own folks as well. Indians talk cr@p about Sikhs to goray, should goray buy all that is said to them? Or do they find out on their own? Anyways, its your life and your opinion. You can try to win someone using the power of Gurbani, Sikh itihaas and philosophy, or you can humiliate them and further them farther away from Sikhi. Choice is yours.

  14. What I didn't understand was the part at 0:22 where it says she attempted to laugh it off and went out of the room.
  15. So please help me understand. This guy says that according to Gurbani, Vaheguru doesn't need anyone's permission to do anything. That is absolutely correct. What Giani jee says is that Baba Ajeet Singh ji did benti to Vaheguru. No where is it said that Vaheguru had to ask Baba jee! Ofcourse its upto Vaheguru if He wants to accept or reject His bhagat's request. So what is the fuss about? Maybe I am missing something? Can someone with wisdom please clarify and elaborate? Thank you
  16. I checked with a Singh and received the same video a few minutes back.
  17. Forty-four cremations in the last 48 hours and the villagers in Rajpur Bhatta are still looking for the dead. On September 4, when they gathered at the house of Sukwinder Singh to join his baraat, no one imagined that his three-year-long love story with Jatinder Kour from nearby Laam would have such an end. They had travelled barely 2 km from home when Sukwinder, 24, was dead and so were 63 others in his wedding procession, after their bus fell into the swollen Jhameerh nullah which falls en route. Five days later, the hunt for the remaining 20 is still on, with local villagers forming groups to search the nullah waters from Jhameerh to Beri Pattan, right along the Line of Control (LoC). Carrying long bamboo sticks and ropes, they venture in and, at places, even dive under to ensure they dont miss anything. The bodies are being discovered by Army troops near the LoC even at Palanwalla in Akhnoor tehsil near Jammu, 65 km away, where these appear to have been washed up by the Chenab from the side of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Since Sunday, troops of Akhnoor-based 10 Division have found three bodies, including that of one-and-a-half-year-old Harneet, on the Chenab banks. The Jhameerh nullah merges with Nowshera nullah and flows into PoK from Beri Pattan in Rajouri district on the Indian side of the LoC. After nearly 1 km, it flows back to the Indian side to join the Chenab in Palanwalla area. Daljit Singh, an ex-serviceman, has come to Nonial from Upper Nonial near Nowshera in search of his brother-in-law Manmohan Singh. Let the body of someones relative be found, if not ours, he says. Many families have been completely wiped out, says Harbans Singh, a forest guard, adding that there is no household in the village which is not in mourning. Sukhwinder, who worked as a daily wager with the Postal Department, and Jatinder, an 18-year-old college student, met three years ago. They both travelled to Nowshera every day and met on local matadors or buses. A year ago, their relationship became serious when both joined the same computer coaching institute at Nowshera. Their families were already related to each other, and a match was quickly arranged. Sukhwinder had even begun construction of his own separate house to settle down after marriage. His father Bhagat Singh says the two decided everything about the place, right from the architecture and the colour of the walls to the putty on the ceilings and curtains, exchanging photographs on WhatsApp. As she wanted a particular design for curtains, these were purchased from Rajouri, 45 km away, Bhagat Singh says. An inverter bought by Sukhwinder to install in the new house is yet to arrive because of the rains. On September 4, the baraatis had waited for nearly three hours for the rains to stop, before over 200 of them decided to leave for Laam in three buses and some light motor vehicles around 11 am. Sukhwinder, along with his friends and some wedding material, was in the first car, says his elder brother Darbara Singh. On finding the Jhameerh in spate and water flowing over a bridge that falls en route, Sukhwinder came out of the car. His uncle and friends drove through and reached the other side of the nullah, says Darbara. Seeing them go through safely, the baraatis asked Sukhwinder to get into the bus just behind. However, he decided to wait for it to pass as well. When that too crossed safely, Sukhwinder got into the next bus. By then, this bus had over 70 people, as people travelling in their cars and two-wheelers had also boarded it because of the incessant rains. The bus had reached the middle of the bridge when its front wheel, on the drivers side, went into a deep crater and lost balance. The bus fell into the nullah. Those watching the bus jumped in and pulled out four people through the windows, while three others swam to safety on their own. Armyman Rattan Singh had come home from Pathankot on September 3 night for the wedding. He along with his wife Amrit Kaur and daughter, Harneet, were among the dead. The body of his wife is still missing. Another Army personnel, Swarn Singh, had come on five-day leave from Arunachal Pradesh for the marriage along with wife Ranbir Kaur and daughters Gurmeet, 3, and Tanya, who was just one-and-a-half month old. Ranbir and his daughters had got out of a car in which they were travelling to board the ill-fated bus. Now, Swarn is looking for their bodies. The entire border road, including the bridge, is maintained by the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF). The crater had been there for the last few years, with local people drawing attention of GREF officials towards it from time to time, but to no avail, says Harpreet Kaur. Since the accident, however, the crater has been filled up by the GREF. Two days later, 13 bodies, including that of Sukhwinder, were pulled out of the bus, which was brought to the bank with the help of cranes by Army troops after water level in the nullah went down. Thirty-one others were found floating at different places, right up to Chammb-Jourian in Akhnoor near Jammu. While police confirmed 64 deaths, villagers put the number between 70-80, saying that there was no count of infants and minor children sitting in their parents lap. The police, Army and local villagers have jointly formed groups to look for the bodies. The authorities across the LoC in PoK and Army troops of the Akhnoor-based 10 Division have been informed as well, said Nowsheras Additional SP Rakesh Kumar. While the police have registered a case, they do not know whether to blame the driver who is among the dead or the GREF engineers for the negligence. Congress legislator Ravinder Sharma says GREF engineers are responsible and a case should be registered against them. None of the ministers from Chief Minister Omar Abdullahs cabinet have visited the relatives of the victims so far. DCP Shantmanu and IGP Rajesh Kumar visited Rajpur Bhatta and announced Rs 1.5 lakh ex gratia relief from the state government for the relatives of the deceased. The village has over 350 families, majority them Sikh, who are otherwise a minority in the state. Where have the funds allocated by the Centre for development of such minority pockets, as per Sarkaria Commission recommendations, gone? asks Congress leader Ravinder Sharma. http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-others/washed-away-in-raging-floods-a-three-year-love-story-64-lives/

  19. MANSA, CHANDIGARH: A 33 year-old nurse, who according to police had treated gang-rape victim Nirbhaya at Delhi's Safdarjung hospital, was allegedly gang-raped by seven men in Budhlada town of Punjab's Mansa district on Monday. Two accused Balwinder Singh Kala and Manwinder were arrested on Tuesday night by police, which had registered an FIR under Section 376 of IPC. But police said the woman had refused to undergo medical tests, a mandatory procedure to confirm rape. 20. I want to sincerely apologize veerji, I couldn't stop laughing when I read your post at first, seriously. Ok, I've stopped now. First of all, congrats on taking Amrit and welcome to the Khalsa family! :D Have you thought about changing your sleep pattern? Like going to bed earlier than usual and get up earlier than usual? That way you can spend a bit of more time in the shower. Have you tried cold showers? They would make you feel fresh and you would forget about spending more time taking bath. If you still can, well more power to you! I am sure the others will advise you better.
  21. Fair enough, lets contact them and have it implemented for both genders. Who has the number/email?
