Sixer on the first ball! :respect: Very good points, yes some guys can be somewhat hypocrites when the tables are turned, i.e. when they are put in a position to respond to a Bibi who may have excessive facial hair. There is a saying "ਹਰ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨੂ ਕੁੜੀ ਤਾਂ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਹਰ ਕੁੜੀ ਨੂ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ", which clarifies the fact that it is probably harder for Bibiyaan to find a Singh who would accept them for the way they look. But there are enough Singhs out there who wouldn't care about appearance, and would actually decide based upon the Bibi's jeevan.

If they dye their hair then yes.

So then it possibly comes down to what is the priority of the girl/boy. If its Sikhi, then they will be very straightforward in who/what they want. If its the Bollywood/Hollywood sort of lifestyle they want to live, then they can choose anyone.

I think many (if not all) of us Amritdhari Singhs have actually received more attention, respect and acceptance from non-Sikh , non-Punjabi and non-Indian Bibis during our youth. So its not about your appearance, its your confidence in yourself and your beliefs that makes you attractive!

For those who have studied under the Indian system, they would know that there are several dohay (couplets) of Bhagat Kabeer jee that are taught in schools. These are totally different from the Gurbani Shabads of Bhagat Kabeer jee. Thus it makes it even more clear that at some point some transformation did happen. Twenty-five-year-old Harjeet Singh was shot dead in Nothia, Peshawar within the limits of Gulberg police station. Harjeet was taken to Lady Reading Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police official Ijaz Khan told The Express Tribune. Ijaz said the attack was targeted. On August 6, a Sikh teenager was killed in a similar incident, injuring two. Hundreds of Sikh residents of Peshawar protested in response, burning tyres and blocking roads. A Sikh man was stabbed to death by unidentified attackers in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, a media report said today. Amarjeet Singh was found murdered inside the warehouse of his shop in Shaheedan Bazaar of Mardan city yesterday. His son Gagan Singh told police that he was at the family-owned cosmetics shop until 2 pm, when his father came and sent him home. When Gagan returned at 5 pm, he found the shop's shutters pulled halfway down and his father was missing. Gagan then went to the shop's adjacent warehouse, where he found his father's body. Gagan said his family doesn't have any known enemies and have been residents of Dagai, Mardan, for many years. Police have lodged an FIR and started investigation into the murder. Last month, two men opened fire on three members of the Sikh Community in Shabab Markat in the Hashtnagri area of Peshawar. One man, Jagmot Singh, was killed while two others, Manmit Singh and Param Singh, were injured. Chandigarh/ Punjab (September 04, 2014): Sukhbir Badal, president of Punjabs ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), recently announced list of new office bearers of the party. The list includes the name of Izhar Alam, founder of the infamous Black-cat groups in Punjab, as vice president of the Badal Dal. Izhar Alam, a former top-cop of Punjab, had formed a personal army called Alam Sena, which indulged in mass level atrocities on the people of Punjab while posing as Sikh militants. The Alam Sena comprised groups of criminals known as black cats of Punjab police. The fact of existence of Alam Sena found its mention in US Diplomatic cables leaked by Wikileaks, besides various reports by Human rights bodies. The communication, referred as cable, sent by New Delhi based US Embassy on December 19, 2005; released by Wikileaks, mentions the existence of Alam Sena. This cables is in response to certain issues and specific questions relating to the extradition of Kulbir Singh Barapind from US to India. In response to question posed by Department asked for posts assistance in reviewing the assertions contained in Barapinds submission that (b) one of the policemen allegedly responsible for Barapinds torture in 1988 has been promoted to the senior ranks of the Punjab police force, it is mentioned in the cable that: With regard to former Senior Superintendent Punjab Police (Jalandhar) Mohammad Izhar Alam, we can confirm that he now holds the position of Additional Director General (Administration) Punjab Police, a senior police posting. During the insurgency, he assembled a large, personal paramilitary force of approximately 150 men known as the Black Cats or Alam Sena (Alams Army) that included cashiered police officers and rehabilitated Sikh terrorists.
