  1. The group called AKJ, Babbar and by some uneducated ones even Bhasuriaa etc etc Had (Still does to with Older Singhs) great love and respect with Damdami Taksaal. Benti Can All contribute to this thread. Bhai Sukhdev Singh's Relationship With Sant Jarnail Singh Since 1980, the Indian Security Forces had come to know of a youth called Sukhdev Singh, and had began to hunt him. So Bhai Sahib permanently shifted all command operations to Siri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. It was here that stayed from 1980 till 1984. Babbar Khalsa had come into existence here. Sant Jarnail Singh had established the Dharam Yudh Morcha. Bhai Sahib fully supported this movement. He also wished all the youth of Punjab to leave intoxicants and become Sikhs of the Guru. Sant Jarnail Singh ji was also a highly spiritual and visionary Gursikh. He knew since the Shaheedi of Jathedar Fauja Singh, that hard times would fall on Sikhs and they needed to become Shahsterdhari (armed). He also knew anti-Panthik forces would do everything to divide the Sikh Youth to ensure that Sikh demands are not met. The Sikh youth who were brave and full of spirit were in two Jathebandies; - Damdami Taksal and Akhand Kirtani Jatha. During the early 1980s, a meeting occurred between Sant Jarnail Singh ji and Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara. Bhai Amolak Singh was also sent to represent the youth as no organisation had formed at the time of this meeting. In this meeting it was agreed that no issues that divided these two groups would ever be allowed stop the common cause of the Sikh Nation. Later as Babbar Khalsa came into existence, Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale held them in high respect, and they are often mentioned in his lectures. Names like Bhai Kulwant Singh Nagoke, Bhai Manjit Singh Babbar are mentioned frequently. Meeting in Jail When Sant Jarnail Singh ji was in prison after being arrested in Chowk Metha, it was national news. Bhai Sukhdev Singh and Bhai Wadhava Singh walked into the police station armed with guns. The police realising who had just walked in, ran for their lives. Bhai Sukhdev Singh asked Sant ji to come with them and continue his Parchaar. Sant Jarnail Singh ji said he appreciated their courage, but has no need to go underground. Sant ji said his release had already been arranged legitimately. Sant Ji respected the way Bhai Sukhdev Singh had quickly dealt with the Nirankaris "7 Sitarees" (their equivalent to our Punj pyares). Also how he had planned how Bhai Ranjit Singh would infiltrate Nirankari Baba Gurbachana house, and numerous other high profile actions. Sacha Sukha (Truthful Sukha) During 1983-84, the security services tried to divided the Singhs. It had been the wish of the security services that Sikh youth fight amongst themselves, creating enemies, and opportunities which could be used to gather information from rivals, and start them eliminating each other. Some infiltrators dressed up as Singhs and robbed a Hindu mans store in Amritsar. They told him to leave Punjab or he will be killed. They pretended to be Sant Bhindranwales men. The distraught hindu shop keeper went to Darbaar sahib, and was told by sangat to see Bhai Sukhdev Singh, who was based at Baba Atal Sahib Gurdwara. Bhai Sukhdev Singh was upset that people are doing this is Gursikhi Baana (clothes), as it gives Gursikhs a bad name. When the Babbar Khalsa Singhs located these infiltrators, Bhai Sukhdev Singh got a laathi, ( a long Danda- wooden stick), tied them upside down from a tree and beat them with it. He made them give all the money back, and told them never to threaten any innocent again. Other infiltrators tried to stoke up the Taksali Singhs against Babbars saying Sukhdev Singh had beat up these Singhs. Many rumours were circulated to get one group against another. Some of these rumours later even got published in books, to ferment differences between the groups. But Sant Ji knew this was not correct, and instead started refering to Jathedar Sukhdev Singh ji as "Saccha Sukha", (The Truthful Sukha). Both Sant Ji and Bhai Sahib knew their fight was not against innocents. Sant ji, too was called in press as a Hindu hater, but facts show he was highly respected by many Hindus. The fight was only against those who choose to destroy Sikhism. Even today, in books written about the Operation BlueStar refer to differences between the two leaders, which are baseless. Sant Logowal and Gurcharan Singh Tohra, both key Akali leaders at that time also sought to divide Sukhdev Singh and Sant ji. They were afraid of the growing prominence of Sant ji and the amount of youth with him. The only person capable of standing against him, who also had a lot of youth with him was Bhai Sahib. So these leaders also indulged in rumour mongering to divide the two Gurmukhs, and associated themselves with the Babbars. Bhai Sahib realised these forces that were at work and so did Sant ji. Both shared a mutual respect and their common cause. However no differences directly arose between the two Gursikhs, despite the attempts of many. Both fought together at Operation Blue Star, as the story continues………
  2. I'd thought I would bump this relating to the Hatred Youth Post. We have the 1984 Yaad Ghaullghar coming soon, let's not bite each other
  3. There was recent discussion with a Singh from 1978 he said both groups of Singhs of Jatha Bindran and Akhand Kirtani Singhs had so much pyaar for each other. Even before the 1978 saka they where willing to take bullets for each other without any hesitation regardless of minor veechara differences.
  4. Bhai Jeevan Singhs Meetings with Giani Baba Kartar Singh Jee (Bhindran Wale) Bhai Jeevan Singh jee used to be invited by Giani Baba Kartar Singh jee Bhindran Wale to do Keertan at Mehtaa. It has been said that Baba jee would wait at the train station for Bhai Sahib and the Akhand Kirtani Jatha Singhs to come. When Bhai Sahib jee used to get off the train Baba jee would rush to the train to greet Bhai Sahib. When they would meet they would embrace one another with so much pyaar. Baba jee held Bhai Sahib jee in great regard. Baba jee himself would serve Bhai Jeevan Singh jee langar with his own hands. Whenever Bhai Jeevan Singh jee would enter the Diwaan where Baba Kartar Singh jee would be doing Kathaa, Baba jee would stop the Kathaa and say request Gurmukh pyaare Bhai Jeevan Singh jee to do keertan for the Sangat. Standing united together Panthic leaders, including Baba Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale, Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara, Bhai Amrik Singh at the site where the Antim-Saskar of the 13th Shaheeds was performed. Bhai Fauja Singh Ji's shield can be seen amongst the ashes
  5. can somebody please put up the address where the protest is taking place please. As It wasn't there on the press release.
  6. Thanks for making a constructive good reply N30. I will read the pdf and post any thoughts on it here.
  7. Jab Lag Khalsa Rahe Niaara || Tab Lag Tej Dheeyo Meh Saara || Have faith that when the Panth comes to fully recognizing and drilling this pure Mukhvaak of Kalgeedhar Guru Gobind Singh Ji they will immediately come to abide in Chardi Kala. One should contemplate over every word in this Mukhvaak, it is not so hard to understand. If the Khalsa stays distinct then Guru Kalgeedhar says 'Mai Poora Saaraa Tej Bakhshaa gaa, Devaa(n)gaa', meaning I will give the Khalsa my complete blessings (and power). The Khalsa is a distinct nation, its birth was most distinct, the lifestyle of a Khalsa is distinct, the food and clothes the Khalsa wears is distinct and the love the Khalsa has for the almighty is most distinct. Don't Become a Adopted Son of a Bahmin, Come Home to you real Father (Satguru Jee) & His Hukams, Pakhand was destroyed by Saache Paatshaaha. These rituals have being put into Sikhee by Anti-Panth forces, we should awaken. Guru Sahib jee, Mahapursh, Akaal Takht Sahib are against this practice full stop. But most of all OUR GURU SAHIBAAN ARE AGAINST IT .
  8. k-z can you prove and confirm it was written by akj? Or are you just making wild guesses? please contact sikhanswers.com to confirm this. Whether it is Taksal, Nanaksar etc literature it doesn't matter as it is Panthic literature. Again please contact sikhanswers to get them to remove pictures, I've just posted it how it is. and also dont act panthic etc as the other articles are all biased towards jatha mentality. ^ Which articles are you referring to If Satguru Nanak Dev Sahib jee destroyed this practice blatantly then why shouldn't it be told straight up. Again it was destroyed by the Singh Sabha & Gurdwara Reform Movements. Akaal Takht is against too Next will we be saying that don't speak out against Singhs wearing Jaaneoos For panthic Ekta If Satguru jee has clear condemned the practice then Gursikhs shouldn't just sit quiet. It is all roots of Bahmins, Our KHALSA IS NIAARA NOT BAHMIN.
  9. Found this good article clearing up many misconceptions. sikhanswers.com http://www.sikhanswe...-view-on-aarti/ From Sanskrit Aarti, meaning the light or the vessel containing it which is waved before an idol, generally in the clockwise direction, accompanied by the chanting of mantras. This is also the name given the ceremony, which for the Hindus is a mode of ritual worship to propitiate the deity. In the Sikh system, which totally rejects image-worship, there is no permission for this form of worship. Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Jagannath Puri Mandir.According to the Janam Sakhis, Guru Nanak Dev Ji accompanied by Bhai Mardana Ji, stopped near the temple of Jagannath, which is dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu. Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Bhai Mardana Ji stopped near the shrine upon which sat centuries of history mute and immobilized. The notes from Bhai Mardana's Rabaab (rebeck) touched the devotees' hearts with fresh fervor. Several of them came to hear the Guru's word. The temple priests felt angry and held the Guru Ji guilty for not making adoration to the deity within the sacred enclosure. The local chief whose name has been described, as Krishan Lal one day visited the Guru and invited him to join the aarti, or the evening service of lights, in the temple. The Guru readily offered to go with him. As dusk fell, the priests lighted the lamps and sumptuous ritual for which the devotees had been waiting began. Twinkling lights fed by ghee were placed on a jewel studded salver, amid flowers and incense, and worshipfully swung from side to side by the priest in front of the enshrined image to the accompaniment of the chanting of hymns, blowing of conches and the ringing of bells. The priests had a complaint as they concluded. The Guru had remained seated in his place and not participated in the ceremony. The Guru burst into a divine song: The sky is the salver And the sun and the moon the lamps. The luminous stars on the heavens are the pearls. Scented air from the sandal-clad hills is the incense, The winds make the fan for Thee, And the vast forests wreath of flowers. The unstruck music of creation is the trumpet. Thus goes on the Arati (adoration) for Thee, O' Thou dispeller of doubt and fear! Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught the listeners, how Nature's tribute to the Creator was superior to any ritualistic oblation offered before images. Aarti in Sikhi Every evening in all Gurudwaras, after the recitation of Rehraas Sahib, the Keertan (singing) of Aarti through Gurbani shabads is performed by Raagis (musicians). This is a tremendously soothing experience, capable of taking us directly into the spiritual realms of devotion through music. Bhai Gurdaas Ji writes: ਸੋਦਰੁ ਆਰਤੀ ਗਾਵੀਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਾਪੁ ਉਚਾਰਾ|| "Sodar (Rehraas) and Aarti were sung (in the evening) and in Amrit-veal (the ambrosial hours) Japji (Sahib) was recited." Once actor Balraj Sahni asked the late Nobel Laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore, "You have written the national anthem for India. Can you write an international anthem for the whole world?" "It has already been written, not only international but for the entire universe, in the 16th century by Nanak," replied Tagore. He referred to the Sikh aarti (ceremony of light). Tagore was so enamoured of this universal aarti that he personally translated it into Bengali. Sanaatan (Hindu) practices infiltrating Sikhi In the mid-18th century when the Khalsa had to live in the jungles because they had a price on their head, Nirmala and Udaasi Mahants (caretakers) took care of the Gurdwaras. During this period the Nirmala and Udaasis came under the influence of Hinduism and introduced Hindu practices to Sikh institutions. Over time the Mahants became more powerful and although the Sikh Gurdwaras were freed from the clutches of the corrupt Mahands in the turn of the 20th century through the Singh Sabha and Gurdwara Reform Movements. Although the Gurdwaras were freed and Sikh Maryada (Code of Conduct) was re-introduced to Sikh institutions, some Sikh institutions in India that were outside of the Panjab or in the hands of certain Nihangs or Sants continued practising some Hindu rituals. One of the rituals is "performing" Aarti. Singing the Keertan of Aarti is a Sikh practise, however performing Aarti by waving a platter with oil lamps and flowers whilst ringing bells is a Hindu practise. *Admin Note: video removed* [/center] Aarti and Sikh Maryada The Panthic Sikh Rehit Maryada, the official Sikh Code of Conduct, states: Anything except the afore-mentioned reverential ceremonies, for instance, such practices as the Aarti (waving of a platter with burning lamps and incense set in it in vertical circular motion) with burning incense and lamps, offerings of eatables to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, burning of lights, beating of gongs, etc., is contrary to Gurmat (the Guru's way). However, for the perfuming of the place, the use of flowers, incense and scent is not barred. For light inside the room, oil or butter-oil lamps, candles, electric lamps, kerosene oil lamps, etc., may he lighted. In the same spirit, Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale, a Gurbani scholar and saint, clearly explains what Aarti means in the Sikh religion in 'Gurbaani Paath Darpan'. In chapter of Akhand Paath maryada, page 168, Sant Ji writes: "Do Aarti, don't light lamps, only read Shabads of Aarti and Do Kirtan, then distribute Karah Parshad and have open Langar." On page 135, Sant Ji writes: ਹਰ ਪਾਠ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਤੇ ਆਰਤੀ ੳਚਾਰੇ( ਬਿਨਾਂ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਦਾ) (ਨੋਟ- ਆਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ੳਚਾਰਨੇ, ਦੀਵੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਾਲਣੇ) "At bhog of every Paath, do Kirtan and sing Aarti (except first path of an individual's death" (Note- Only Sing Shabads of Aarti, don't light lamps) Under title of Aarti, Santji wrote complete Maryada of Aarti and in the end he writes- ਆਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪੜਨੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ। "It is best to sit and sing Shabads of Aarti. Doing Aarti with lighted lamps in plates has been rejected by Satguru Ji." So going by Gurmat and Gurbani, only the sitting and singing of Aarti in Keertan form without lighting lamps is permissible, as lighting of lamps like the Hindus did at Mandir in Jagannath is contrary to teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

  12. Evil Spirits Flee in Terror from Gursikhs: Baraylee Smaagam 1959 & 61 By Prof. Thakur Singh Translated by Admin www.tapoban.org The July and August Smaagams used to take place in Baraylee but in 1959, the Smaagam took place in May. In this Smaagam's amrit sinchaar, a couple from Mainpuree was blessed a lot with spiritual ecstasy. Another amazing incident from this amrit sinchaar is the case of the woman attacked by an evil spirit. This woman was from Baraylee. When she appeared before the Punj Pyaaray, she told Jathedar Sahib, Baoo Mul Singh jee, "An evil spirit has possessed me but she could not enter this place. She remained outside the door." Baoo jee assured the woman that in this place no evil spirit could enter. Wherever naam is repeated then forget evil spirits, even Jamm Doot cannot enter. "Jaih sadhoo gobind bhajan keertan nanak neet|| Naa hou(n) Naih too(n) Naih chhoTih nikT na jaaeeoh doot" Dharam Raja tells his Jamm-Doot the above that wherever saintly people are and where there is naam simran or keertan, don't go near that place. Otherwise, "neither I nor you can be saved". Then Baoo jee told the woman that she should receive amrit and meditate on naam and all spirits would leave. When all the peshees had finished and the Bata was prepared, the aspirants came one at a time to receive amrit. When that woman's turn came, drops of amrit entered her and she was taught naam. As she began to jap naam, she screamed out "That spirit has run away!". Another even more amazing incident is this: A very scary looking woman, who would cause children to run away just by looking at her, was brought to the Baraylee Smaagam in 1961. This was a very superstitious and irrational woman. She was prepared in order to present her before the Panj Pyaaray. When it came her turn to be Peshed, she stopped in front of the door. She would not go in. When even a number of people together could not drag her in, then the Jathedar of the Punj Pyaaray, Baoo Mul Singh jee came out with his unsheathed sword and told the woman to come in. At this, that horrible, scary, witch-like woman glared with red eyes at Baoo jee and lunged at Baoo jee screaming "I won't leave you either!" Baoo Jee challenged the spirit possessing this woman and said "Fine, I'm ready. You leave this woman and come into me." The spirit replied "I won't leave her" and she lay down in front of the door. Sree Maan Baoo jee motioned to some Singhs who then picked up the woman and brought her inside. Upon entering, she quietly sat down. She was held and given amrit. When the Punj Pyaaray were imparting Gur-Mantar, she stubbornly resisted for some time but then she could not resist the sound of Gur-Mantar and began to loudly cry out "Leave me alone! Leave me alone! I'll leave! I'll leave her!" Baoo jee replied "You had said you wouldn't leave this woman…." The spirit then exclaimed, "I was never going to leave her, but what can I do? Now I'm dealing with BrahmGyaanees…" Saying this, the evil spirit left and the woman came to her senses and began to recite Gur-Mantar. So at Baraylee, because of Baoo jee, such incidents always occurred. In these years a Smaagam took place in Kota Rajasthan where under the Jathedaaree of Baoo Mul Singh jee another similar incident took place.

  17. The Real Majnoos Vs Worldly Majnoos Meaning of Majnoo Majnoo literally means crazy. Other synonyms for this word in Indian languages are Divaana, Baura, Baawra, Pagla, Paagal, Kamla etc. Even though the word Majnoo means Divaana but in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu, this word is used for such person who becomes crazy in love. Mostly, Majnoo is associated with such male lover who goes crazy over infatuation with a female. The most famous worldly Majnoo has been a person called Qaiz who became crazy in love with a girl called Laila. He became so crazy that he left his home and really became a crazy person and soon people forgot his real name and everyone started calling him Majnoon-e-Laila which means Majnoo of Laila. If an ordinary worldly person hears this story, he is probably inspired and loves it but when a Gurmukh hears about the plight and fate of Qaiz, he feels sorry for Qaiz but also knows that while the love of Qaiz may have been sincere and genuine but his object of love was false. He wasted his human life in love of an idol of flesh and blood. Two types of Majnoos There are two types of Majnoos out there – Majnoos of Vaheguru and Majnoos of Laila. It’s okay if worldly people are Majnoos of Laila but when we find a Gursikh looking person become a Majnoo of Laila our heads are lowered with shame. We are not going to bother about non-Sikh Majnoos because they don’t concern us but our worry is for Sikh youth (males and females) who are increasingly imitating their Western peers and acting out like them by getting involved in boyfriend-girlfriend relationships. Summary of a Conversation between a Sikh Majnoo and a Gursikh Here is a brief conversation between a Sikh youth who became a Majnoo and a Gursikh who was trying to dissuade him from committing a mistake and becoming a Majnoon-e-Laila: “If I don’t get married to her I will die” – Dear brother when you took Amrit, wasn’t the understanding that your life was now not yours but Guru Sahib’s? This was the whole idea of giving head to Guru Sahib. If you are so eager to die, there are worthy causes for dying. Why die to get married to an idol of flesh and blood? “But my love for her is not physical; I love her soul” – What are you talking about brother? Your love is not with her body but with her soul? Have you seen your own Aatma (soul) yet? Then how did you manage to see her soul and fall in love with it? Save yourself if you can. This relationship has already put a black stain on your White chador of Sikhi. If you still don’t wake up, you will fall further deep in this trap of Maya. Wake up and realize that your relationship with Guru Sahib takes precedence over everything else. “What I meant was that my love for her is purely platonic (without Kaam)” – Dear brother, this human life was not given to us by Guru Sahib to have Kaamic love or non-Kaamic love. Anything that can possibly break or weaken our relationship with Vaheguru, should be avoided. If she is meant to be for you, then by the work of Vaheguru, you will get married to her. When the time for Anand Sanskaar arrives, you will get married. Don’t go around hunting for marriage partners like Western people. Why a Gurmukh does not become Majnoo of a Laila Gurmukhs realize that everything that is visible is false and nothing in this world is true. They fall in love with the creator of this world - Vaheguru - by chanting his Naam day and night. They fall in love with Naam and the Giver of Naam – Satguru. Gurmukhs too are Majnoos. They are Majnoon-e-Allah i.e. Majnoos of Vaheguru. Bhai Nandlal jee has put forward a very interesting Pankiti: ਗੋਇਆ ਦੋ ਜਹਾਂ ਰਾ, ਬ-ਜਵੇ ਨਾ ਸਿਤਾਨਦ। ਮਜਨੂਨੇ ਤੌ, ਕੈ ਆਸ਼ਕੇ ਲੈਲਾ ਬਾਸ਼ਦ। (Goya (Bhai Nandlal jee) does not place the price of two worlds equal to even a seed of Jau. Why would your Majnoo O Vaheguru, become an Aashiq (lover) of a Laila?) Bhai Sahib is asking a question – why would Vaheguru’s Majnoo become infatuated with a Laila? Laila here represents a girl (or a boy in case of girls). One heart is capable of having only one lover. Once the heart is taken by one lover, it can’t be taken away by someone else. One heart, in one lifetime can only truly love one personality. A Gurmukh’s heart is already taken by Vaheguru. There is no chance that a Gurmukh would lose his heart to a worldly lover. Coming back to Bhai Sahib’s question why would a Vaheguru jee’s Majnoo be Aashiq on a Laila? The question can be answered with another question – Why would someone who is in love with Truth, fall in love with False? Below are some examples from history that highlight the high moral characters of Gursikhs. Sardar Baghel Singh One of the incidents that highlight the high moral character of Puratan Sikhs, took place during the 1700s, and involves a Muslim girl of Lahore royal family that fell in the hands of a Jatha of Singhs under the command of Sardar Baghel Singh. Sardar jee in those times was in his prime and a very handsome young man. On the other hand, this Muslim princess whose name I can’t remember now, was known for her good looks. She was accustomed to getting attention for her good looks. Anyone who looked at her once would look at her again as is the natural reflex. At first when she found herself amidst the sworn enemy of her family – the Singhs, she was terrified. But when she noticed that Singhs were not even looking at her, she got a bit surprised and upset too. She couldn’t understand why no one was looking at her and why her beauty was not found to be attractive here. She was safely escorted back to her parents but before that she got an opportunity to talk to Sardar Baghel Singh. He explained to her the high moral standards set by Guru Sahib. She got very impressed hearing all this. Such was the character of Singhs, in olden days. This incident has been very beautifully captured by the superb writing of Sardar Sadhu Singh Hamdard the former editor of Punjabi Ajit in India. I read this when I was a child. Master Tara Singh and the English woman An English woman wrote a very interesting incident concerning Master Tara Singh. Master Tara Singh was very young at that time and was travelling on a train. Across from him a beautiful young English woman was sitting. She had been accustomed to attention from men but she was surprised and very impressed to see that not once did Master jee try to take a glance at her. So impressed was she that she actually wrote about this incident. Such was the high character of our leaders in the past. Bau Mal Singh jee in Belgium Bau Mal Singh jee, one of the closest companion of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee was serving in 1st World War in Belgium. During the evening time, he was sitting on a bench when some women sat near him. The started conversing with him and at some point asked him if he liked them. They had other intentions for Bau jee but they did not know that Bau jee was not an ordinary person. He was a player of high spiritual states. Bau jee responded by saying that surely he liked them. They were very pleased to hear this. The next moment Bau jee said that he liked them like his sister and daughter. They were shocked to hear and fled uttering unintelligible utterings. Sant Arjun Singh jee Sant Arjun Singh jee was a companion of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee. Sant jee was a very great soul. When Bhai Sahib was arrested, he too was arrested by police and they asked him if he knew Bhai Sahib. His response was very interesting. He said, “what to talk about me, the three worlds know Bhai Sahib”. The police released him after keeping him in detention for couple of days. He knew not what fear was. He worried not about anything. He stayed in the divine state of Naam all the time. One day, he was submerged in the divine colours of Naam that he wandered unintentionally to that part of the city where flesh trade takes place. He was young and handsome and as is the custom of flesh trade bazaar, the working women there started calling and seducing him. At that point Sant jee got aware of his surroundings. He was not a normal person like Ajamal who was hit by Kaam when a young prostitute had just looked at him provocatively and this way lost his whole life to Kaam. Sant jee were very accomplished Gursikh and right away he was hit by immense bairaag. In full bairaag, he in a loud piercing voice started doing kirtan. Imagine what chaos would have occurred in this bazaar at the sight of a Gurmukh-Sant doing kirtan. The hearts that were burning with the fire of Kaam were extinguished in an instant. The women who just a moment ago were trying to seduce Sant jee, fell at his feet. Their hearts were purified by the effect of Gurbani kirtan. They beseeched and they implored to him to save them from Kalyug. Sant jee stayed oblivious and when they continued their imploring, Sant jee freed himself from them and hurriedly left the place. Before leaving he declared that only they will be saved who accept the amrit of Siri Dasmesh jee. Such was the character of Gursikhs of those times. The Piteous State of Today’s Sikh Youth If we notice a Gursikh, who has taken Amrit of Guru Sahib and becomes so attracted to the member of opposite sex that he (or she) can only think of her and can’t live without her, then surely such person was never in love with Guru Sahib. Every now and then we hear of a Gursikh brother or sister, shamelessly declaring that he or she will die unless he or she marries such and such person. How did a Gursikh end up at such stage? Wasn’t he an Amritdhari to begin with? How did he violate such a strict order of Guru Sahib of considering other-women as mothers, sisters and daughters? Our youth now-a-days has reached such state that it has no hesitation or shame before openly communicating with the members of opposite sex. Today they start chatting with someone, tomorrow they start sharing their problems with each other, the day after tomorrow they develop feelings for each other and soon they are going out. Even at Kirtan Samagams where countless Gurmukhs are engaged in praising the true Lord, some of the misled youth are overcome with Aashiqaana feelings (Amorous feelings). The high, impregnable character of Khalsa youth has taken such a beating. Today if you look around, you can count on your fingertips such individuals who have not been stained by entering into relationships before marriage. The Internet has really shrunk the world. Today, if something occurs in the Sikh community in one country, it quickly spreads across the globe. If a young male or female commits an act of transgression, then the reputation of such individual is stained for life. Once one’s character gets stained, it’s hard to build it back. Gursikhs must rise above the Maya of this world and maintain strong Khalsa character. The time of marriage and the partner for life has already been chosen by Vaheguru. So relax and stop hunting for your life partner on your own. A Sikh youth who keeps strong character, keeps Sikhi Rehit is always in demand as far as marriage is concerned. A youth who starts hunting for a life partner on his own, soon gets his character stained and before he or she realizes, it’s too late. No one is saying that we should become a segregated society like the Muslims and keep Purdah and don’t talk with each other at all. What’s required is to know our limits. Far too many Kaam-related mistakes are being committed by our youth because of their proximity to members of opposite sex. Far too many youth are hanging and chilling together before getting married, this is not in line with Gursikhs May Guru Sahib do Kirpa and enable his Sikhs to keep a strong moral character on which Guru Sahib can be proud of. Bhul Chuk dee Maafi jee Kulbir Singh Below is a brief Vichaar on the topic of Kaam, taken from another article: http://www.gurmatbib...ents.php?id=273 Kaam If we really think of it what is Kaam? Kaam is the attraction that our mann (mind) feels looking at the body, the physical body of the opposite sex. What is this attraction? It is really weird if you think of it. This is one of the purest and rawest form of haume. Pure Haume it is because this emotion triggers in for the physical body of the opposite sex. Higher the feeling of Kaam, heavier the Haume is in oneself. The jeev is jyot (illuminated being) but under the spell of Haume it thinks that it is the physical body and that by possessing the body of the opposite sex, it will get pleasure. Under the illusion of maya, the jeev thinks that by coming in touch with the body of the opposite sex, it will find pleasure. How can jyot saroopi jeev, get anand if it’s body touches or comes in contact with the physical body of the opposite sex? This is a very bizarre sensation that is felt because of haume. To get a more clear understanding, imagine that this body that we have, somehow starts thinking that it is not the human body but is the clothes it wears. Now imagine how stupid it would be to think that when the clothes of this body touch the clothes of body of opposite sex, the clothes feel pleasure. It’s like feeling anand if the clothes of our body touch with the clothes of the body of opposite sex. How can our body derive anand if it’s clothes touch clothes of the body of the opposite sex? Same way, how can the jeev that is Atma roop derive pleasure if it’s body touches the body of opposite sex? It is the illusion of haume that causes this pleasure. Here is what Siri Guru jee states about Kaam in Gurbani: Addressing Kaam, Siri Guru Panchmesh Pita jee say, O Kaam, you control the jeev and make it reside in hell (Narak Bishraamang) and then make it wander in various life forms. You control the jeevs and your reach is in the three worlds of creation. You destroy the Jap-Tap (Bhagti) and Sheel (good character) of jeevs. You give very little pleasure to the jeevs but in return of that little pleasure you give, the jeevs lose their wealth, you make them chanchal i.e. unstable. Whether the creatures are great or small, you reach all of them. In the last pankiti, Siri Guru jee address Kaam, "O Kaam, the jeevs get liberated from you only when they reach Sadh-Sangat i.e. the sangat of Guru; therefore O Nanak, take refuge of Vaheguru Narayana".

  24. The person who has sacrificed his/her whole or in other words lives after dying is the Gurmukh ParUpkaree (Magnanimous Gurmukh). One who hasn’t done so, one who hasn’t fixed their own mind, whose mind is not attuned fully to Guru’s Word, what can he/she preach to others about Guru’s Word?. Gurmukh Par-UpKaarees do not have to lecture anyone. Their mere sight is enough to incite love for Gursikhee in others. Their exemplary life becomes an aura that spreads it sweet fragrance to all that come in touch.
