If yes have you finished reading it and are you willing to send it to someone else who would also like to benefit from it? Btw sikhnation.com have been contacted but unfortunately do not have any copies left with the next ones arriving in October at the earliest. Many thanks. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Bhai Darshan Singh was a Gursikh from Dehli and was a captain in the Indian army. A few days before the start of the first war between Pakistan and India Captain Darshan Singh was given orders from his superiors who stated that his whole platoon were being sent to the frontline. As his section readied themselves for their first military action Captain Darshan Singh began to have doubts as to whether he would ever return back home to his family. Despite these thoughts playing on his mind Bhai Sahib kept all this to himself. On their way to the frontline the military train carrying Bhai Sahib and his platoon stopped near Jalandhar for a few hours. As the soldiers got off the train to rest Bhai Sahib saw a Gursikh from his platoon walk away from the other soldiers. Bhai Sahib quickly ran after the Gursikh and asked him where he was going. The Gursikh smiled and told Bhai Sahib that he was going to the ashram of Nirmal Kutia Johal to see Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and his beloved Sikh Baba Basant Singh Ji. The Gursikh then requested Bhai Sahib to accompany him. Bhai Sahib readily agreed and together they made their way to Guru Ji. After being blessed with Guru Sahib’s darshan Bhai Sahib and the Gursikh then went to see Baba Basant Singh Ji. Upon seeing the two Gursikhs Baba Ji immediately got up and greeted them with open arms. He then told them that Guru Ji’s langar was ready and asked the sevadars to serve them. As the Gursikhs ate Guru Ji’s langar Baba Ji kept uttering, “Satguru Nanak Dev Ji Ang Sang Satguru Gobind Singh Ji Ang Sang”. While Baba Ji was doing this Bhai Sahib commented that the langar tasted very nice. Baba Ji smiled and immediately requested the sevadaars to give Bhai Sahib some more langar and to fill up a jug so that Bhai Sahib could take some of Guru Sahib’s langar with him. Bhai Sahib looked at Baba Ji and thought to himself, “Oh Waheguru, what can I do? I don’t know if I will come back from this war to return that Jug”. Baba Ji smiled once again and said, “Gurmukho do not worry that Jug belongs to Guru Ji’s kitchen and he himself will make sure that it finds a way back.” As Baba Ji uttered these words Bhai Sahib began to cry. After fighting and winning the war Captain Darshan Singh came back and returned the Jug to Guru Ji’s kitchen. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Once a Gursikh who was fairly young had gone with his family to visit the home of the Khalsa, Sachkhand Sri Anandpur Sahib Ji during the summer in the early 1970s. After bowing before Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and listening to gurbani the gursikh was told by his family that there was a certain Mahapursh who resided in the vicinity near Anandgarh Sahib who was the embodiment of Seva and who had attained Brahmgyan. The Mahapursh that the Gursikh’s family were talking about was Sant Baba Seva Singh Ji who took it upon themselves to build the historic Gurudwara Sahib’s around Sachkhand Sri Anandpur Sahib Ji. The Gursikh was told by his family to go and do darshan of the Saint who had devoted himself so selflessly to his beloved Guru while they rested under the shade of a tree to escape the scorching sun. As the Gursikh walked he noticed that there were very few people on the roads due to the sweltering heat. The Gursikh who wasn’t sure of the whereabouts of the Saint stopped near a simple construction site where he saw an old man dripping with sweat carrying baked bricks on his head. Seeing the Gursikh the old man smiled. After exchanging Guru Sahib’s Fateh the young Gursikh asked the old man, “Babaji, do you know where the Mahapursh is?” The old man still carrying the bricks replied in a sharp voice, “Kaka, which Mahapursh do you want to go and see?” Hearing this, the Gursikh was taken aback and was surprised that the old man did not know about Sant Baba Seva Singh Ji. The Gursikh then said, “I am looking for Sant Seva Singh Ji, I want to have darshan of that Mahapursh who is the embodiment of Seva.” The old man then pointed to a recently constructed Gurudwara Sahib and said, “Kaka why do you only want to see a Saint? If you go to that building inside you will find the Saint of Saints, the King of Kings Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj! I am a mere slave of that Guru, the only boat that can ferry this world across who named me Seva Singh.” Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Once, a 26-27 year old youth came to Baba Nand Singh Ji and exclaimed, " I have heard that you have seen Guru Nanak Dev Ji." Baba Ji did not commit, he thought to himself that if he says yes then it is being conceited and if he says no then it is false. Baba Ji enquired, "Why do you ask?" He replied, "I am asking, because if you have seen Him, help me to see Him also." Baba Ji asked him, "How much have you studied?" He said , " Till M.A." To this Baba Ji said, " I have studied only five alphabets." (Sant Wadhwa Singh Ji was Baba Nand Singh Jis educational – guru. He didn't take a slate and chalk; or a paper – pencil to teach him. He just wrote five alphabets on the ground and said 'set you free from the bond of yam; this much is enough for you.' After reading this, do not presume that mahapurush was illiterate, according to him, only so much worldly knowledge was required. The depth in which he has scrutinized and understood Gurbani and Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, keeping the conventional rules and rites in mind, is beyond the common mans thinking. Where the worldly knowledge ends, the spiritual knowledge begins from there, that is the first standard in the house of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the knowledge begins from there. There is a lot of difference between a scholar and a mahapurush.) Baba Ji told that youth, "You are a post-graduate, and I have not even studied in first standard. Lets strike a deal, you make me do M.A. instantly and I on my part will show you Guru Nanak Dev Ji." The youth got offended, he said, "How can you do M.A like this, you have to work hard, first complete your schooling, then do your graduation, only then can you take classes in M.A." Baba Ji said, "Similarly you can not see Guru Nanak Dev Ji instantly, for that also you have to work hard and make a lot of effort." 10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh In Guru Ji’s darbar Bhai Surinder Singh Ji (a kirtani from Baba Bakala who was well known at one time (before the advent of tape recorders in Punjab)) narrated the following story to the sangat when he was asked about the importance of naam japna. One time Bhai Sahib and his Jatha were travelling around Uttar Pradesh and had reached Lucknow the state’s capital. On the Prakash Diwas Gurpurab of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj the Gurudwara’s committee had arranged a one week kirtan programme and had requested that Bhai Sahib and his Jatha partake in this mahaan seva. In this way Bhai Sahib and his Jatha sang the praises of Akaal Purakh for one week at the Gurudwara Sahib in Lucknow. After the ardas on the final day of the programme Bhai Sahib was approached by an elderly hindu lady called Mata Dhian Dev who had accompanied a Sikh family to the programme. Mata Ji told Bhai Sahib that she had never heard such beautiful ‘bhajans’ before and that she had been deeply moved by the love and peace of the house of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. With tears in her eyes she requested Bhai Sahib and the sangat to come and hold a kirtan programme at her house. Although Bhai Sahib and his jatha were meant to leave for Punjab later that night Bhai Sahib being a beloved of Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji acceded to her request immediately and said that they would come to her house. The next day Bhai Sahib and the Sangat from the Gurudwara Sahib arrived at Mataji’s house. Mataji with the help of her relatives had cleared all the furniture from her house and had put white sheets everywhere in preparation for their arrival. For six hours Bhai Sahib and the Sangat sang the praises of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. At the end of the kirtan as Bhai Sahib was about to leave Mata Dhian Dev quickly got up, took hold of his hand and said, “Gyaniji please give me a mantar from this path of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj”. Bhai Sahib smiled and told Mata Dhian Dev that he could not give her such a mantar as only the Panj Pyarai could do that. Mata Dhain Dev listened to this and then said, “You have sung so many ‘bhajans’ here and at the Gurudwara Sahib please give me any mantar from one of these ‘bhajans’”. Bhai Sahib once again explained that the mantar Mata Dhian Dev was seeking could only be obtained from the Panj Pyarai. He then began to explain in detail the life of a Gursikh and the Amrit Sanchar but Mataji kept asking him to provide her with a mantar. Finally Bhai Sahib told her to repeat Guru Sahib’s mool mantar from Ikonkaar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach as many times as she could. Mataji got up and went to her room and came back holding a mala in her hand. While showing Bhai Sahib her mala she told him that every day she uses it to repeat the name of Shiva and asked if she could use this mala to repeat the mantar he had given her. Bhai Sahib smiled and said yes. Mataji then asked Bhai Sahib how many times she should repeat the mantar. Bhai Sahib said that she should repeat the mool mantar as many times as she could. A few years after this Bhai Sahib and his jatha visited Lucknow once again to peform kirtan seva. After the programme Bhai Sahib saw the same secretary who was there the last time they had visited the Gurudwara Sahib. Bhai Sahib talked to the secretary for a while and then asked him about the wellbeing of Mataji. When Bhai Sahib did this the secretary didn’t say anything for some time. After a while Bhai Sahib asked if she had passed away. The secretary looked at Bhai Surinder Singh Ji and said, “No Gyaniji, Mataji has not passed away but has become a Brahmgyani”. Bhai Sahib was taken aback by this and decided to go and visit Mataji’s house. When he reached her house the front door opened and he was greeted by a beautiful Khalsa decorated in Guru Ji’s dastar and bana who with folded hands loudly uttered, “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh”. 11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time in the holy court of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj a Gursikh was reciting the following pankti: laekh n mittee hae sakhee jo likhiaa karathaar || The inscription inscribed by the Creator Lord cannot be erased, O my companions A Sikh who was sat in Guru Sahib’s darbar listened to this tuk and began to think very deeply about its meaning. After a while this Sikh who was a King from Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) went and bowed before Guru Ji and said, “Maharaj whilst listening to your beautiful bani I heard the following tuk, ‘laekh n mittee hae sakhee jo likhiaa karathaar’. If this means what is written on our foreheads cannot be erased then what is the point of becoming a Sikh of the true Guru? What is the point in doing Simran and Seva? What is the point of grasping hold of your beautiful feet?” Satguru Ji smiled and told the Sikh that he would give him the answer to his question tomorrow. Later that night as the Sikh slept he had a very vivid dream. In that dream he saw himself as the King of Mandi who was sat on a throne surrounded by countless riches, servants and other materialistic things. He then saw himself die and being reborn into a very poor and low caste (Chandal) family. He dreamt about growing up as a boy working hard in the fields to earn enough to eat. He witnessed firsthand the sacrifices his father and mother had to make for him and his siblings who often went to sleep on an empty stomach. He saw himself being taunted and bullied daily for belonging to a low caste. His life was full of pain and sorrow. Eventually after enduring countless hardships he grew up and got married and had children who suffered the same fate he did. One day while he was working in the fields under the blistering sun with his children he collapsed and died. When this happened the King got up from bed in a sweat and looked around. He was shocked as his dream felt very real but he told no one about it. The next day the King and his entourage went to the holy court of Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj once again but this time the King was very anxious and distressed. After bowing before Guru Sahib, Guru Ji told the King to accompany him on his morning walk. As they walked the King began to get more distraught as he began to recognise the surroundings he had witnessed in his dream. As Maharaj and the sangat continued to walk forwards they came across a house where a few people were crying. Just then a little child came running towards the King with tears in his eyes and looked up and said, “Bapu Ji you have come back?” The child then ran back to his house and called the rest of his family who quickly came outside. When they saw the King their tears were turned into smiles as they kept repeating, “You’ve come back, you’ve come back”. The King and his entourage were taken aback by this. The King himself began to shout out that he isn’t the father of the child. All the noise and fuss which was being made attracted more villagers who collectively agreed that the King was indeed the father and husband of the mourning household. The King was shocked after recognising all his relatives and fellow villagers but vehemently denied having any association with them. In this way both groups - the villagers and the family who stated that the King belonged to them and the King and his entourage – kept arguing. Guru Sahib calmed everyone down and then told the people from the household to go and dig up the grave of their husband/father. When they did this they expected to find no body but to their surprise they found the body that they had buried just hours ago. As both groups saw this body they were all astounded as there was no difference between the physical appearance of the King and the dead body. Collectively both groups went to Guru Sahib and asked him what this all meant. Maharaj smiled and then said that according to the pralabadh karma of the King he was destined to die and be reborn into this family and face all the hardships that fate had in store for him. However the King became a Sikh of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj and took refuge in the beautiful charan kamal of Guru Sahib which saved him from enduring this and instead reduced this whole life of suffering to a dream. Although laekh was not erased it was reduced to such a level that this whole life/karma was not even felt by the King. Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj. 12. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Hopefully this post by Bhai Kulbir Singh Ji will help give you a better understanding of Karma: http://www.vidhia.com/Bhai_Kulbir_Singh_Ji...0Singh%20Ji.pdf During the times of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj the king of Mandi asked Maharaj a similar question to yours: "Say if i was to meet an accident tomorrow (example) and this is due to my past karmas, how can i change it? If i pray and pray, will this karma change? Guru Nanak says it will not." I will try and write this amazing sakhi for you later on this evening: http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=44604&hl= But in short place your head at the feet of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj and that king of kings shall reduce the effects of your pralabadh karma (those that can’t been changed). 13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Kpanthmovement it’s a great initiative and idea. As you are still searching for translators why don’t you just focus on doing translations of kirtan videos for the time being? Slowly as more Sikhs of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj take up this seva you can move onto translating katha etc? Btw don’t feel disheartened by the lack of a response from the forum as Guru Sahib is with you and when he’s with you impossible is nothing. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time at Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib the renowned Sikh scholar Dr Bhai Vir Singh Ji was sat on the parkarma listening to the beautiful kirtan that was resonating throughout the world from the house of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Ram Das Ji Maharaj. As Bhai Sahib sat lost in thought of his beloved Guru he saw many Sikhs walking around the parkarma uttering the praises of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. A middle aged man who was making his way around the house of the king of kings caught the attention of Bhai Sahib. The man would stand up straight utter a prayer with clasped hands before bowing in a prone position. In this way the man slowly made his way around the parkarma. When Bhai Sahib saw this he first thought to himself what deceit is this man practising. But then he thought it is wrong of me to judge anyone let me go and speak to this man and ask him where he has come from and who has taught him this. As Bhai Sahib greeted the man and asked him these questions the man began to cry. He said, “I was shown this path of love by a Sikh Sant from Patiala. Once he brought me and my family to the first step of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj we placed all our faith and hopes in Guru Sahib and now have become firmly attached to his beautiful feet.” “At one time we were a very wealthy Hindu family. But one day everything changed. Our only son became very sick and to try to find a cure for his illness we spent all our money. We contacted doctors from all over the world but our son did not get any better. After medicine had failed us we then contacted some healers but this did not make a difference. Finally when we had lost all hope one of our friends mentioned that there was a Sant from the house of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. We were told that that house was different from any other as no one left it emptied handed no matter where they came from.” “In great hope we went to see the Sant who told us about the power of the Guru and his bani. After doing an ardas for our son the Sant handed me a Gutka Sahib in Hindi which had the words Sukhmani Sahib written on the front. The beloved Sikh of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj told us to do an akhand jaap of this bani. Within a couple of hours our son rose from his bed for the first time in months and within a few days recovered fully from his illness.” Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh In a village close to Ludhiana there was a Gursikh who was about to go and join his brothers in arms who were fighting thousands of miles away in a foreign continent for the free world. This Gursikh who lived with his mother and younger sister was told to go and see the great saint of the times Sant Baba Nand Singh Ji who had spent years immersing himself in the beautiful feet of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. When this Gursikh saw Baba Nand Singh Ji he began to cry. Baba Ji smiled and asked the gursikh why he was crying. The Gursikh told Baba Ji that his mother was very worried about him and kept asking him what would become of her and his younger sister if he didn’t return from the great war? All this had left him facing a dilemma as he wanted to go and join his Sikh brothers who were laying their lives on the line fighting the axis powers but he did not want to desert his dear mother and sister. Baba Nand Singh Ji reassured the Gursikh and told him that no force on this world could harm him as long as he kept his head placed firmly at the feet of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Baba Ji further told the Gursikh that whenever he faced any difficulties or was in trouble and had fallen down he should remember the shahbad, “Guru Mere Sang Sada Hai Nale” as if he did this Guru Sahib himself would come and pick his beloved Sikh of the floor. Hearing these words of Baba Ji filled the Gursikh with great hope and in this regard he left home certain he would return once the enemies of the world had been defeated and victory achieved. A few weeks after this meeting the Gursikh left Punjab to join his brothers in arms. After being involved in some military action the Gursikh found himself travelling in a navy ship in the Atlantic ocean of the coast of France with some other soldiers. Half way through the journey the Luftwaffe – the German air force began to rain down bombs in an effort to sink the ship. After hearing a few blasts the Gursikh saw a very bright light which was followed by a thunderous sound which knocked him unconscious. When the Gursikh regained consciousness he was floating on a piece of wood. As he looked around all he could see was water and many dead and badly wounded soldiers. When the Gursikh began to lament over the situation which had befallen him and his fellow soldiers he remembered the shahbad, “Guru Mere Sang Sada Hai Nale”. As soon as he uttered the words, “Guru Mere Sang Sada Hai Nale” he saw Sant Baba Nand Singh Ji standing in front of him floating on a plank of wood. Baba Ji looked at the Gursikh and said, “Gumukh don’t worry about any of this. Guru Sahib will take care of you just keep repeating his name.” In this way the Gursikh began to utter, “Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj” over and over again. Needless to say a few hours later the Gursikh was spotted and picked up by a helicopter. Guru Mere Sang Sada Hai Nale – Guru Ji is always with me Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

The jeevani you have posted on Babaji in my opinion should have a note placed at the bottom stating that, “controversies such as Babaji being excommunicated from the Khalsa Panth, their role in 1984 and the Sikh Liberation Movement has been excluded but has been elucidated elsewhere <link> for inspirational and celebratory reasons”. 25. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Baba Moti Ram Mehra was a servant in the Hindu kitchen of the Faujdar. He used to serve food to the Hindu prisoners. Jagat Mata Gujri Ji refused to accept the food of the Mughal kitchen as well as that which came from Diwan Sucha Nand’s house. Baba Moti Ram Mehra was a great follower of Sikh Gurus. He used to serve the Sikhs on their way to Anandpur Sahib and back to their homes. The Sikhs took rest at his mud house, where the mother of Baba Moti Ram Mehra and Bibi Bholi Ji, wife of Mehra Ji, prepared food for these Sikhs. When Jagat Mata Gujri Ji refused to accept the food, Baba Moti Ram Mehra could not bear the Sahibzadas sleeping hungry. He came home and told his family that he would serve milk and fresh water to these great prisoners. His mother and wife were scared and tried to persuade him not to take such a step. Bibi Bholi, his wife, told him that the Wazir Khan had made an announcement in the town that whoever tried to help and serve any type of food to the sons of the tenth Guru, he along with his family would be crushed alive in a Kohlu, (the oil squeezer). This information could not change the resolve of Baba ji. His mother told him that there were so many followers of the Guru in the town; they could have dared to serve the Sahibzadas. Baba Moti Ram Mehra humbly, but with determination, told his mother that those followers feared the ruler. “Aren't you scared, my son?” asked the mother. Baba Mehra ji humbly replied, “Dear mother our Guru is fighting against injustice of the Mughals. I will serve the great mother and the Sahibzadas. I don’t fear the punishment of the Faujdar. The history will not forgive us if we do not serve the great prisoners." Sensing his determination, his wife gave him her silver jewellery and some coins and requested him,” Please bribe the gate man of the Burj and request him to keep this act a secret.” Baba ji praised his wife for participation in the great cause. Baba Moti Ram served milk and water to the Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji for three nights. On 27th December 1704, the Sahibzadas were slain after the attempt at bricking them alive in the foundation of the wall failed. Mata Gujri ji also breathed her last. Raja Todar Mall of Sirhind performed the cremation. He told Baba Mehra ji to arrange a cart of Chandan wood, which he brought from the forests of Atta Ali. After some time, Pumma, the brother of Gangu, told the Faujdar that his servant (Cook) had served the prisoners with milk and water. Baba Moti Ram Mehra, his mother, wife and a little son were arrested. He did not conceal his act and boldly told the Faujdar that, it was his dharma to serve the young children and the aged mother of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. So, Baba Moti Ram Mehra along with his father was sentenced to death by being squeezed in a Kohlu (oil press). His sacrifice was first sermonized by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur ji.
