  1. One of the main ingredients is sugar in degh. The refined sugar that we buy in stores is not good for our health, so what should we be using living in Canada, what type of sugar is good for the body and not refined? Or do you all just used refined "white" sugar. Also how much water should we be using during making degh. Is it 3 parts to one . Like 3 parts water to one part flour, sugar and ghee? Also do you guys use ghee or just unsalted butter. I find with the butter that it has a sort of whitish film on top of it. Is that normal? When I use ghee it usually works out beter but does not taste the same. Please provide any pointers you can!!
  2. So is there an update on how your fundraising is coming along. Have you met your target for the money you needed to keep the site up and running? Please update the sangat!!
  3. How far are we supposed to take this? I mean I have a friend who we do simran with everyweekend who beleives heavily in Vadhbhaag Singh, but his Grandparents are also Amritdharee. And most of his family is planning to take amrit sometime? Does this mean we cannot associate with them. Are these rules still in effect? People not to be associated with. 4. Dhir Maleeay Dhir Mal, the elder brother of Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji, became an enemy of the seventh Guru and during the time of the sixth Guru he left Kartarpur for Kiratpur Sahib. Once there he set him self up as ‘Guru’. Upon the order of Guru Sahib, the Sikhs seized the ‘Chaur’ from Dhir Mal and threw him out of Kiratpur. Then again at the time of the ninth Guru, Dheer Mal again set up his own throne at Baba Bakala. He also got Sheehee Masand to try to shoot the ninth Guru Sahib. Those Sodhis from the Doab’s Kartarpur area are Dheer Mal’s descendants. It was out of these descendants that Vadbhag Singh was born. During the rule of the 12 Misls (Khalsa States), the governor of Jalandhur desecrated and burnt ‘Tham Sahib’. Vadbhag Singh was Amritdharee, being the first Amritdharee of the Dhir Mal clan. He was scared of the Mughal rulers so he didn’t go to inform the Singhs (living in the jungles), nor did he confront the rulers about the desecration of ‘Tham Sahib.’ At that time, the Singhs thought he had escaped to the mountains to escape persecution and practice black magic. The Dheer Mal clan is excommunicated and is not to be associated with by the Khalsa.
  4. Is there an update? I had sent 200 last week to you guys through paypal. Did you receive it? Admin Note: Yes, Veer Jee, we have received many donations and we are now out of the major debt. We still need contributions on a monthly basis so that we can continue our seva as well as grow. But for now, and the near (very near) future, we shouldn't have any financial concerns.
  5. Just a question: When a loved one like your parents are in the hospital sick with some ailments and we do ardaas for there deh-Arogtaa, what happens if they pass away. All those paats and ardasan that were done where do they go? Are they useless to the person? Or should we be doing ardaas for God to give the person Naaam? Chardi -Kala? What kind of ardaas should we do for them?
  6. So what causes kidney stones? Did ant doctors tell you how you got them?
  7. The thing is sometimes I find it hard to apply the hukum to a situation. Ya sometimes you know right away. Then sometimes I am not sure. I figured this would be a fool-proof way to figure out the answer.
  8. Big Life events sometimes require guidance from the power above. In Sikhs case from Guru Granth Sahib Jee. I am in a situation in which I require some guidance. How can we ask Guru Jee whether to proceed with a certain task or not. I am just not sure, and would like to know whether it is wise to proceed or not. I was thinking. Is it an acceptable practice to put the answers of my questions in a bowl in front of Guru Jee, Do ardaas, take Hukumnamaa and then which ever slip comes out to go with that? How do some of you solve your dilema's in which you do not know which way to proceed? Please answer ASAP!!!!!! The turmoil is killing me!!!
  9. As I remember. Baba Nand Singh used to say where there is a Nishan Sahib there is proper place to stay and proper langar for the sangat. At Nanaksar there is no langar or rest accomodations. It is simply and purely a place of bhagtee, and bhagtee only. That was the hukum he received from Guru Nanak Dev jee. The parshaad they give is in the form of nitnem i.e they stress the completion of nitnem and taking Amrit. He did not want to take on all of this langar responsibility because it took him away from his bhagtee and concentration.
  10. What I would like to know is why the jatha broke up? Money , Status, Women, Alcohol? Can someone inform us?
  11. Looks like he is giving out a different kinda parshaad!!!
  12. Interesting about the SGPC though is that in pretty much all of the gurdwaras run by them they light a ghee lamp. Inside the Harmander Sahib on the main floor there are two which are always lighten and upstairs as I have seen there is one ghee lamp with all saroops and is put on in the evenings. Also re:water pitcher, there is a whole sarovar of water around The Harmander Sahib, why is it Amrit because of the bani being read. When you put that pitcher of water near the paat it also becomes Amrit, and is used for Amrit Sanchaar after of for the family to drink. It has many blessings this Amrit from the pitcher. It has cured many people of many ailmets from cancer to just about anthing else. I was never for the "Taksali" maryada myself as I had an AKJ upbringing, but then once I realized how massive Sikhi is and how many different ways there are to show respect to the Guru I said why not try it. So I did and have continued lighting a ghee and dhoof and it really does creat a nice clean atmosphere. I really do think that is why it is done, to create an atmosphere for the paat. I mean when you go into your prayer room and it has a special scent it helps to put you into that mood for your paat. And it keeps te room quite clean and fresh.
  13. Guru Granth Sahib = Sargun Saroop of God. Can we draw the conclusion that when Guru jee comes to our home, then he is coming to allow us the oppurtunity of doing seva of the Lord in order to clean our sins? I mean he would not go where he did not want to right ? So he is where is he is in order to give us the oppurtunity to do seva? I am right here here or have I missed the bandwagon???

  19. How is it that someone can walk out've Dixie with a huge golak and know one question them? It is probably somes ref's who are in money trouble/Crooked Ragis, dhadis or granthi's.
  20. What good is this if you do not say who it is? How is the everyday guy supposed to find out. Then you wonder why there are paats for this guy? Because you guys are so damn secretive because you, like them want to keep the power in your hands, so you don't actually communicate with the public regarding the issue at hand. But you want everybody to eat out of your hand in order to get info from you. When these Baba's tour here they all look great in bana and do nice keertan, but the everyday guy does not know about the real lives behind the scenes. I mean you put up that Manjit Guys photo and story up and sent out an email, why not do the same thing here. What the hell kind've admins are letting this stuff through. If you don't want to name them do not put the post up and leave people hanging in the dark. Admin Note: Admins were aware of considerable evidence regarding that "Manjit Guy", however, we are not aware of any specific evidence regarding this individual. We choose not to let out this person's name, at the risk of alienating Sangat who respects this individual. However, we would let out his name if actual evidence came forth. -7
