  1. Was just looking for the thoughts of some people here. Basically can you be a Sikh without taking Amrit( khandeh ke paul)? or should i say can you be a 'Sikh' without being a 'Khalsa' or joining the Khalsa panth (as in prescribing to wear 5 kakkars etc) A Khalsa is meant to be a Saint and A Warrior. But is it a must that anyone that wants to be a Sikh has to become a Khalsa? or is that a choice? e.g. like Nirmaleh (far as I no don’t take khandeh ke paul or do they ? ) if someone does not want to adopt the warrior lifestyle or adopt the 5k's does he have to go find another religion? Would like your views Thanks :D
  2. The Izzat 'honour' was lost when the family decided not to educate the girl with sikh values and principles, and not educated in sikh history like most of the girls and boys in the community. The families honor was not taken from the 'Hindu' man or Priest. We should in no way support such criminal activities.
  3. Yep our forefathers, were scholars, philosophers, politicians, doctors, poets, saints, generals, and many more things. We need to be the same or we will defiantly become a no good for nothing nation, that follows anyone like sheep and will continually be exploited. If we where were a well versed nation the likes of Badal and co would never be in power. We need to stop procrastinating and start to be creative and set ourselves to work.
  4. I see that a major problem these days amongst the youth ( including myself at times). No determination to be sucessfull, but everyone wants to be a recluse, in the mountains somewhere.
  5. You certainly have the passion to learn about Sikhism, and i commend you for that. What I recommend is don’t listen to other when they try to put you down, they do that out of their own ego. Just continue to learn and do simran (meditate). Their are plenty of sites where you can look into sikhi, use them. Don’t think your going to become perfect Sikh overnight, no one on this forum is perfect steady yourself. Most people on this forum where probably like you at one point, I know I was so don’t worry
  6. I some what agree with Confus Singh. Gurmat should be understood. The teachings of the Gurus understood. The aim of doing paath is to reach a point one day to do veechar of the shabads. Everyone is going on like understand is not important, but then what is the need for all these kathavachaks, translation, gurbani steeks, sikhitothemax, Sikh channels etc... Reading without understanding is the first stage of doing paath but you have to move on from this stage eventually to doing arths and veechar of shabads thats where you'll find ras
  7. Fateh Well basicaly my internet seems to be really slow, youtube videos take forever to load aswell as downloading from the internet. Any ideas why this could be or how to sort it out?
  8. Maybe you need to get rid of your negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts then watch how them manifest. You'll change the way you think about these no good for nothing wimp sissy Sikhs. You cant change the world you can only change yourself.
