  2. Please dont get confused between the words "KALIKA" and "KAL KA". Becoz Guru Sahib Ji in Bachitter Natak is Explaining the story of his previous janam when he was not Guru Gobind Singh JI rather his name in previous LIFE WAS DUSHAT DAMAN when he was meditating at HEM KUNT and after leaving the body of DUSHAT DAMAN ,he took birth as GOBIND RAI who at the age of 9 years became GURU GOBIND RAI and on VISAAKHI 1699 he became GURU GOBIND SINGH JI after taking KHANDE DA AMRIT(PAAHUL ) from 5 pyare . As such we are not concerned with his previous janams story weather he worshipped KAAL KA MAHAHKAAL or KALIKA. Leave the story of previous janam, GURU ANGAD DEV JI , before coming into contact with GURU NANAK DEV JI , when his name was BHAI LEHNA JI, has been worshipping JAWALA/CHINTPURNI but after coming into contact with GURU NANAK DEV JI, Bhai Lehna ji refuted the worship of any God /Goddess and became a true SIKH of GURU NANAK JI and after some years of sewa,obeying all tye hukams of SATGURU ,word by word, became GURU ANGAD SAHIB. A nd all the above sakhi does not at all teach us to worship the Goddess. GURU GRANTH SAHIB teaches us :- "GUR KAHIYA SA KAAR KAMAAVAHU, GUR KI KARNI KAHE DHAAVAHU."   3. ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ Maajh, Fourth Mehl: ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾ ॥ madhhusoodhan maerae man than praanaa || The Lord is my mind, body and breath of life. ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥ ho har bin dhoojaa avar n jaanaa || I do not know any other than the Lord. ਕੋਈ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ koee sajan santh milai vaddabhaagee mai har prabh piaaraa dhasai jeeo ||1|| If only I could have the good fortune to meet some friendly Saint; he might show me the Way to my Beloved Lord God. ||1|| ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜੀ ਭਾਲਿ ਭਾਲਾਈ ॥ ho man than khojee bhaal bhaalaaee || I have searched my mind and body, through and through. ਕਿਉ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥ kio piaaraa preetham milai maeree maaee || How can I meet my Darling Beloved, O my mother? ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਖੋਜੁ ਦਸਾਈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ mil sathasangath khoj dhasaaee vich sangath har prabh vasai jeeo ||2|| Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I ask about the Path to God. In that Congregation, the Lord God abides. ||2|| ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥ maeraa piaaraa preetham sathigur rakhavaalaa || My Darling Beloved True Guru is my Protector. ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥ ham baarik dheen karahu prathipaalaa || I am a helpless child-please cherish me. ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਜਲ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ maeraa maath pithaa gur sathigur pooraa gur jal mil kamal vigasai jeeo ||3|| The Guru, the Perfect True Guru, is my Mother and Father. Obtaining the Water of the Guru, the lotus of my heart blossoms forth. ||3|| ਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖੇ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ mai bin gur dhaekhae needh n aavai || Without seeing my Guru, sleep does not come. ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨਿ ਵੇਦਨ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥ maerae man than vaedhan gur birahu lagaavai || My mind and body are afflicted with the pain of separation from the Guru. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨॥ har har dhaeiaa karahu gur maelahu jan naanak gur mil rehasai jeeo ||4||2|| O Lord, Har, Har, show mercy to me, that I may meet my Guru. Meeting the Guru, servant Nanak blossoms forth. ||4||2|| (at ang 94 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji)

SATSANGAT means SACH (truth) di Sangat and in Gurbani it is told :- "Satsangat kaisi jaaniye, Jithe eko Naam vakhaaniye" mean , the place where veechaar or talk about EKO NAAM (or Akaal Purakh) is done.This may be a place where two or more Sikhs join togather and discuss about EKO NAAM, or this place may be Heart of alone SIKH who is deep meditation OF Eko Naam and during maditation he feels not alone but doing Sangat of SATGURU/AKAAL PURAKH and Gurbaani veechar starts within his Heart and during this process many of his unsolved questions about Gurbani and any thing and every thing are solved. SAADH SANGAT is sangat of SATGURU physically, that is when Sikhs and others come in presence of Sri GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI, and this may be in Gurudwara Sahib or any other place where sangat enjoys presence of Sri GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI.   5. Further explanation is that Aaradhi means Aaradhna kitee. Thus the meaning of the quoted TUK can be summed as "Guru ji ne Kaal de Mahakaal di Aaradhana kitee." And it is mis spelt by some of our brothers as Guru ji ne KALIKA aradhee, which is wrong. Guru ji in BAANI of Dasam Granth tells at one place while addressing Akaal Purakh :- " Kaal tuhi Kaali tuhi Tuhi Teg aru Teer," The quoted tuk under reference" Mahakaal Kaal Ka Aradhi" is from Bachitter Natak and full Shabad is as under :- ਚੌਪਈ ॥CHAUPAIਅਬ ਮੈ ਅਪਨੀ ਕਥਾ ਬਖਾਨੋ ॥ ਤਪ ਸਾਧਤ ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਨੋ ॥ Ab mai apnoo kahtaa bakhaano|| Tap saadhat jih bidh(i) muh(i) aano|| Now I narrate my own story as to how I was brought here, while I was absorbed in deep meditation. ਹੇਮ ਕੁੰਟ ਪਰਬਤ ਹੈ ਜਹਾਂ ॥ ਸਪਤ ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਸੋਭਿਤ ਹੈ ਤਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ Hem Kunt parbat hai jahaan|| Sapat sring sobhit hai tahaan||1|| The site was the mountain named Hemkunt, with seven peaks and looks there very impressive. ਸਪਤ ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਹਾਵਾ ॥ ਪੰਡੁ ਰਾਜ ਜਹ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਮਾਵਾ ॥ Sapat sring tih naam(u) kahaavaa|| Pant(u) raaj jab jog(u) kamaavaa|| That mountain is called Sapt Shring (seven-peaked mountain), where the Pandavas Practised Yoga. ਤਹ ਹਮ ਅਧਿਕ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਸਾਧੀ ॥ ਮਹਾਕਾਲ ਕਾਲਕਾ ਅਰਾਧੀ ॥੨॥ Tah ham adhik tapassiaa saadhoo|| Mahaakaal Kaalkaa araadhoo||2|| There I was absorbed in deep meditation on the Primal Power, the Supreme KAL. ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਰਤ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਭਯੋ ॥ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਤੇ ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਯੋ ॥ Ih bidh(i) karat tapasiaa bhayo|| Dvai te ek roop hvai gado|| In this way, my meditation reached its zenith and I became One with the Omnipotent Lord. ਤਾਤ ਮਾਤ ਮੁਰ ਅਲਖ ਅਰਾਧਾ ॥ ਬਹੂ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੋਗ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਸਾਧਾ ॥੩॥ Taat maat muralakh araadhaa|| Bahu bidh(i) jog saadhnaa saadhaa||3|| My parents also meditated for the union with the Incomprehensible Lord and performed many types of disciplines for union.. ਤਿਨ ਜੋ ਕਰੀ ਅਲਖ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਗੁਰਦੇਵਾ ॥ Tin jo daroo alakh koo sevaa|| Taa te bhae prasann Gurdevaa|| The service that they rendered the Incomprehensible Lord, caused the pleasure of the Supreme Guru (i.e. Lord). ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਬ ਆਇਸ ਮੁਹਿ ਦੀਆ ॥ ਤਬ ਹਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਲੂ ਮਹਿ ਲੀਆ ॥੪॥ Tin Prabh jab aais muh(i) dooaa|| Tah ham janam kaloo maih looaa||4|| When the Lord ordered me, I was born in this Iron age.4. ਚਿਤ ਨ ਭਯੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਆਵਨ ਕਹ ॥ ਚੁਭੀ ਰਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੁਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚਰਨਨ ਮਹ ॥ Chit na bhayo hamro aavan kah|| Chubhoo rahoo srut(i) Prabh(u) charnan mah|| I had no desire to come, because I was totally absorbed in devotion for the Holy feet of the Lord. ਜਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਸਮਝਾਯੋ ॥ ਇਮ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥੫॥ Jio tio Prabh ham ko samjhaayo|| Im kah(i) kai ih lok pathaayo||5|| But the Lord made me understand His Will and sent me in this world with the following ||5 || Bhul chuk khima ,Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh
  6. This was answer by Bhagat Kabir ji to jogis( who keep their heir uncut and unwashed for life long) and Sanyasis (who always keep their head Ganja.) But as far as teachings for Sikhs is concerned Guru Granth sahib teaches us:- "SABAT SOORAT DASTAAR SIRA"

Cousin means "cousin sister" or "cousin brother" and they are daugters or sons of either sisters or brothers of our parents and thus by blood relations cousins are as good as sisters and brothers and thinking about relation or marrying cousins is neither practically nor theoretically feasible. When GURBANI teaches us:- "Vekh paraaiyan changiyan , Mavan ,dheean bhena jane." When yuo have to treat sisters to third person girl, how can you think of having relation with your cousin who is as good as your own sister. Such relation ship has to be refuted.   9. ਕਬੀਰ ਕੇਸੋ ਕੇਸੋ ਕੂਕੀਐ ਨ ਸੋਈਐ ਅਸਾਰ ॥ kabeer kaeso kaeso kookeeai n soeeai asaar || Kabeer, chant the Name of the Beautifully-haired Lord; do not sleep unaware. ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਕੇ ਕੂਕਨੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਕੇ ਸੁਨੈ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥੨੨੩॥ raath dhivas kae kookanae kabehoo kae sunai pukaar ||223|| Chanting His Name night and day, the Lord will eventually hear your call. ||223||
  10. ਮਾਹ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੂਰਤ ਭਲੇ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥ Maah dhivas moorath bhalae jis ko nadhar karae. The months, the days, and the moments are auspicious, for those upon whom the Lord casts His Glance of Grace. ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਰਸ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਰੇ ॥੧੪॥੧॥ Naanak mangai dharas dhaan kirapaa karahu harae ||14||1|| Nanak begs for the blessing of Your Vision, O Lord. Please, shower Your Mercy upon us! ||14||1|| (Barah Maha Majh Mehla 5) May we all enjoy showers of blessings of WAHEGURU JI in forthcoming new year 2010. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh.

  12. Khalsa Panth ,in the presence of GURU GRANTH SAHIB ji,is is the body of GURU where as SOUL of the body is GURU GRANTRH SAHIB JI. And without soul body is dead and without life. As such any decision taken in the light of GURBANI in the presence of GURU GRANTH SAHIB by the KHALSA PANTH can be TERMED as GURU KA HUKAM , but it is must that the decision taken must be undisputed and if there is any dispute in the Panth regarding same, the decision will be termed as view but not a decision or Hukam.   13. Some where in some book of Bhai Randhir Singh ji it is quoted:- Kachh ,Karha, Kirpaan, Kangha, Keski. Dhare punj kakkar kahaave singh soee. But in Rehat maryada by SGPC AND Bhai Nand Lal ji,KESH is mentioned amongst Kakkars.However there is no dispute about "KESH must for SIKHI", and also it is accepted by SIKH PANTH without any dispute that KESH should be kept covered always.Bhai Nand Lal ji tells in his Rehat nama:- "Nagan sees bahar fireh , nagan sees jo khaye, Nagan Parshad ju bantai, Tankhahee bado kahaye." ( Akaal Ustate) Joban ke jaal ho ki kaal hoon ke kaal ho Ki satran ke sool ho ki mitran ke praan ho. ( Akaal Ustate) ਜਲ ਕਹਾ ਥਲ ਕਹਾ ਗਗਨ ਕੇ ਗਉਨ ਕਹਾ ਕਾਲ ਕੇ ਬਨਾਇ ਸਬੈ ਕਾਲ ਹੀ ਚਬਾਹਿਂਗੇ ॥ Jal kahaa thal kahaa gadan ke gaddd kahaa, Kaal ke banaae sahai kaal hoo chabaahenge. Not only to speak of the residents of water, earth and wanders of the sky, all those created by god of death will ultimately be devoured ( destroyed) by him. ਤੇਜ ਜਿਉ ਅਤੇਜ ਮੈ ਅਤੇਜ ਜੈਸੇ ਤੇਜ ਲੀਨ ਤਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਉਪਜ ਸਬੈ ਤਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਸਮਾਹਿਂਗੇ ॥੧੮॥੮੮॥ Tej jio atej mai atej jaise tej loon, Taahoo te upaj sahai taahoo mai samaahenge||18||88|| Just as the light merged in darkness and the darkness in the light all the created beings generated by the Lord will ultimately merge in Him.   16. ਅਪਜਸੰ ਮਿਟੰਤ ਸਤ ਪੁਤ੍ਰਹ ॥ Apajasan mittant sat putreh || One's bad reputation is erased by a true son, (Gathaa Mehla 5 at ang 1360 of Guru Granth Sahib ji) "JO Mata pita di agya na manne so tankhahiya." (rehat nama bhai Chopa Singh ji} See and read Vaar 37 Pauri 10 Bhai GURDAS JI as under:- ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਿਮਿਆ ਆਸਾਵੰਤੀ ਉਦਰੁ ਮਝਾਰੇ । Maat pitaa mili nimiaa aasaavantee udaru majhaaray| Meeting and mating of mother and father makes the mother pregnant who becoming hopeful keeps the child in her womb. ਰਸ ਕਸ ਖਾਇ ਨਿਲਜ ਹੋਇ ਛੁਹ ਛੁਹ ਧਰਣਿ ਧਰੈ ਪਗ ਧਾਰੇ । Ras kas khaai nilaj hoi chhuh chhuh dharani dharai pag dhaaray| She enjoys edibles and unedibles without any inhibition and moves carefully with measured steps on the earth. ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚਿ ਦਸ ਮਾਹ ਰਖਿ ਪੀੜਾ ਖਾਇ ਜਣੈ ਪੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ । Pait viche das maah rakhe peerhaa khaai janai putu piaaray| She gives birth to her dear son after bearing the pain of carrying him in her womb for ten months. ਜਣ ਕੈ ਪਾਲੈ ਕਸਟ ਕਰਿ ਖਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਜਮ ਸਾਰੇ । Jan kai paalai kasat kari khaan paan vichi sanjam saaray| Having delivered, the mother nourishes the child and herself remains moderate in eating and drinking. ਗੁੜ੍ਹਤੀ ਦੇਇ ਪਿਆਲਿ ਦੁਧੁ ਘੁਟੀ ਵਟੀ ਦੇਇ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ । Gurhhatee dayi piaali dudhu ghutee vatee dayi nihaaray| Having ministered the customary first food, and milk, she stares at him with deep love. ਛਾਦਨੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਪੋਖਿਆ ਭਦਣਿ ਮੰਗਣਿ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ । Chhaadanu bhojanu pokhiaa bhadani mangani parhhani chitaaray| She thinks about his food, clothes, tonsure, betrothal, education etc. ਪਾਂਧੇ ਪਾਸਿ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਖਟਿ ਲੁਟਾਇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਚਿਆਰੇ । Paandhay paasi parhhaaiaa khati|utaai hoi suchiaaray| Throwing handful of coins over his head and giving him a proper bath she sends him to the teacher for education. ਉਰਿਣਤ ਹੋਇ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੧੦॥ Urinat hoi bhaaru utaaray ॥10॥ This way she clears the debt (of her motherhood). And now pauri 11 of vaar 33 of Bhai GURDAS JI:- ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਨਦ ਵਿਚਿ ਪੁਤੈ ਦੀ ਕੁੜਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ । Maataa pitaa anad vichi putai dee kurhamaaee hoee| Parents are happy that the betrothel ceremony of their son has been solemnized. ਰਹਸੀ ਅੰਗ ਨ ਮਾਵਈ ਗਾਵੈ ਸੋਹਿਲੜੇ ਸੁਖ ਸੋਈ । rahasee ang n maavaee gaavai sohilarhay sukh soee| Mother becomes overjoyed and sings songs of happiness. ਵਿਗਸੀ ਪੁਤ ਵਿਆਹਿਐ ਘੋੜੀ ਲਾਵਾਂ ਗਾਵ ਭਲੋਈ । Vigasee put viaahiai ghorhee|aavaan gaav bhaloee| Singing eulogies of bridegroom, and praying for the welfare of the couple she feels very happy that her son got married. ਸੁਖਾਂ ਸੁਖੈ ਮਾਵੜੀ ਪੁਤੁ ਨੂੰਹ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਅਲੋਈ । Sukhaan sukhai maavarhee putu noonh daa mayl aloee| For the well-being and harmony of bride and bridegroom the mother makes vows of offerings (before the deities). ਨੁਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਕੰਤ ਕੁਮੰਤੁ ਦੇਇ ਵਿਹਰੇ ਹੋਵਹੁ ਸਸੁ ਵਿਗੋਈ । Nuhu nit kant kumantu dayi viharay hovahu sasu vigoee| Now, the bride starts ill-advising the son, goading him to get separate from the parents, and consequently the mother-in-law becomes sorrowful. ਲਖ ਉਪਕਾਰੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਤ ਕੁਪੁਤਿ ਚਕੀ ਉਠਿ ਝੋਈ । Lakh upakaaru visaari kai put kuputi chakee utdi jhoee| Forgetting lacs of benefactions (of mother) the son becomes disloyal and sets himself at logger-heads with his parents. ਹੋਵੈ ਸਰਵਣ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਈ ॥੧੧॥ Hovai saravan viralaa koee ॥11॥ Rare is any obdient and lucky son like Sravan (of mythology who was most obedient to his blind parents.) Now Vaar 37 Pauri 12 of Vaaran Bhai Gurdas ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕਾਮਣਿਆਰੀਐ ਕੀਤੋ ਕਾਮਣੁ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ । kaamani kaamaniaareeai keeto kaamanu kant piaaray| The enchantress wife with her charms made the husband dote on her. ਜੰਮੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਵੀਵਾਹਿਆਂ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਅ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ । janmay saaeen visaariaa veevaahiaan maan pia visaaray| He forgot the parents who had given him birth and had got him married. ਸੁਖਾਂ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਿਵਾਹਿਆ ਸਉਣੁ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਿ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ । sukhaan sukhi vivaahiaa saunu sanjogu vichaari vichaaray| Having made vows of offerings and considerd many good and bad omens and auspicious combinations, his marriage had been arranged by them. ਪੁਤ ਨੂਹੈਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲੁ ਵੇਖਿ ਅੰਗ ਨਾ ਮਾਵਨਿ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਵਾਰੇ । put noohain daa maylu vaykhi ang naa maavani maan piu vaaray| Seeing at the meetings of the son and the daughter-in-law, the parents had felt over joyed. ਨੂੰਹ ਨਿਤ ਮੰਤ ਕੁਮੰਤ ਦੇਇ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਛਡਿ ਵਡੇ ਹਤਿਆਰੇ । noonh nit mant kumant dayi maan piu chhadi vaday hatiaaray| The bride then started continuously advising the husband to desert his parents instigating that they had been tyrants. ਵਖ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੁਤੁ ਰੰਨਿ ਲੈ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਦੇ ਉਪਕਾਰੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ । vakh hovai putu ranni|ai maan piu day upakaaru visaaray| Forgetting the benefactions of parents, the son alongwith his wife got separated from them. ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਵਡੇ ਕੁਚਾਰੇ ॥੧੨॥ lokaachaari hoi vaday kuchaaray ॥12॥ Now the way of the world has become grossly immoral. At ang 1200 in Sarang Mehla 4 Guru Ram Das ji say:- ਕਾਹੇ ਪੂਤ ਝਗਰਤ ਹਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਾਪ ॥ kaahae pooth jhagarath ho sang baap || O son, why do you argue and quarrel with your father? ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਜਣੇ ਬਡੀਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਝਗਰਤ ਪਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jin kae janae baddeerae thum ho thin sio jhagarath paap ||1|| rehaao || It is a sin to argue and querrel with the one who fathered you and raised you. ||1|| I think the above quotes will serve your purpose upto some extent but no fully.   17. ਮ: ੩ ॥ Third Mehla: ਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਈ ਨਾਗਨੀ ਜਗਤਿ ਰਹੀ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥ Maya hoee naganee jagath rehee lapatae || Maya is a serpent, clinging to the world. ਇਸ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਖਾਇ ॥ Eis kee saeva jo karae this hee ko fir khae || Whoever serves her, she ultimately devours. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋਈ ਗਾਰੜੂ ਤਿਨਿ ਮਲਿ ਦਲਿ ਲਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥ Guramukh koee gararroo thin mal dhal laee pae || The Gurmukh is a snake-charmer; he has trampled her and thrown her down, and crushed her underfoot. ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਈ ਉਬਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥ Naanak saeee oubarae je sach rehae liv lae ||2|| O Nanak, they alone are saved, who remain lovingly absorbed in the True Lord. ||2|| (Goojree Guru Amar Das ) ਆਸਾ ॥ Aasaa: (Aasaa Bhagat Kabir Shabad ) ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਉਰਕਟ ਕੁਰਕਟ ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਪਾਨੀ ॥ Eikath pathar bhar ourakatt kurakatt eikath pathar bhar panee || In one pot, they put a boiled chicken, and in the other pot, they put wine. ਆਸਿ ਪਾਸਿ ਪੰਚ ਜੋਗੀਆ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੀਚਿ ਨਕਟ ਦੇ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ Aase pase panch jogeea baithae beech nakatt dhae ranee ||1|| The five Yogis of the Tantric ritual sit there, and in their midst sits the noseless one, the shameless queen. ||1|| ਨਕਟੀ ਕੋ ਠਨਗਨੁ ਬਾਡਾ ਡੂੰ ॥ Nakattee ko thanagan badda ddoon || The bell of the shameless queen, Maya, rings in both worlds. ਕਿਨਹਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਤੂੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Kinehi bibaekee kattee thoon ||1|| rehao || Some rare person of discriminating wisdom has cut off your nose. ||1||Pause|| ਸਗਲ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਕਟੀ ਕਾ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਗਲ ਮਾਰਿ ਅਉਹੇਰੀ ॥ Sagal mahi nakattee ka vasa sagal mar aouhaeree || Within all dwells the noseless Maya, who kills all, and destroys them. ਸਗਲਿਆ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਬਹਿਨ ਭਾਨਜੀ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਬਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਚੇਰੀ ॥੨॥ Sagalia kee ho behin bhanajee jinehi baree this chaeree ||2|| She says, ""I am the sister, and the daughter of the sister of everyone; I am the hand-maiden of one who marries me.""||2|| ਹਮਰੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਬਡੋ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਤੁ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥ Hamaro bharatha baddo bibaekee apae santh kehavai || My Husband(SATGURU) is the Great One of discriminating wisdom; He alone is called a Saint. ਓਹੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਕਾਇਮੁ ਅਉਰੁ ਹਮਰੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੩॥ Ohu hamarai mathhai kaeim aour hamarai nikatt n avai ||3|| He stands by me, and no one else comes near me. ||3|| ਨਾਕਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਨਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੂਟਿ ਕੈ ਡਾਰੀ ॥ Nakahu kattee kanahu kattee katt koott kai ddaree || I have cut off her nose, and cut off her ears, and cutting her into bits, I have expelled her. ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਬੈਰਨਿ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੪॥੪॥ Kahu kabeer santan kee bairan teen lok kee piaree ||4||4|| Says Kabeer, she is the darling of the three worlds, but the enemy of the Saints. ||4||4|| ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ Asa mehala 5 || ਮਾਥੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਰੂਰਿ ॥ Mathhai thrikuttee dhrisatt karoor || A frown creases her forehead, and her look is evil. ਬੋਲੈ ਕਉੜਾ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਕੀ ਫੂੜਿ ॥ Bole kourra jihaba kee foorr || Her speech is bitter, and her tongue is rude. ਸਦਾ ਭੂਖੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਦੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ Sadha bhookhee pir janai dhoor ||1|| She is always hungry, and she believes her Husband to be far away. ||1|| ਐਸੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਇਕ ਰਾਮਿ ਉਪਾਈ ॥ Aisee eisataree eik ram oupaee || Such is Maya, the woman, which the One Lord has created. ਉਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਹਮ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Une sabh jag khaeia ham gur rakhae maerae bhaee || rehao || She is devouring the whole world, but the Guru has saved me, O my Siblings of Destiny. ||Pause|| ਪਾਇ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਜੋਹਿਆ ॥ Pae thagoulee sabh jag johia || Administering her poisons, she has overcome the whole world. ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਮੋਹਿਆ ॥ Brehama bisan mehadhaeo mohia || She has bewitched Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇ ਸੋਹਿਆ ॥੨॥ Guramukh nam lagae sae sohia ||2|| Only those Gurmukhs who are attuned to the Naam are blessed. ||2|| ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਪੁਨਹਚਰਨਾ ॥ Varath naem kar thhakae punehacharana || Performing fasts, religious observances and atonements, the mortals have grown weary. ਤਟ ਤੀਰਥ ਭਵੇ ਸਭ ਧਰਨਾ ॥ Tatt teerathh bhavae sabh dhharana || They wander over the entire planet, on pilgrimages to the banks of sacred rivers. ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੩॥ Sae oubarae j sathigur kee sarana ||3|| But they alone are saved, who seek the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||3|| ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੋ ਜਗੁ ਬਾਧਾ ॥ Maeya mohi sabho jag badhha || Attached to Maya, the whole world is in bondage. ਹਉਮੈ ਪਚੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੂਰਾਖਾ ॥ Houmai pachai manamukh moorakha || The foolish self-willed manmukhs are consumed by their egotism. ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਹਮ ਰਾਖਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੯੬॥ Gur naanak bah pakar ham rakha ||4||2||96|| Taking me by the arm, Guru Nanak has saved me. ||4||2||96||
  18. Kar kar vekheh nadar nihal, Tithhai khandd manddal varabhandd, Jae ko kathhai th anth n anth. Tithhai loa loa aakaar, Jiv jiv hukam tivai tiv kaar. Vaekhai vigasai kar veechaar, Naanak kathhanaa kararraa saar ||37||

Vaar 1 Pauri 24 BHAI Gurdas ji (First episode of Guru Nanak Dev ji) ਪਹਿਲਾ ਬਾਬੇ ਪਾਯਾ ਬਖਸੁ ਦਰਿ ਪਿਛੋਦੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਘਾਲਿ ਕਮਾਈ । Pahilaa baabay paayaa bakhasu dari pichhoday dhiri ghaali kamaaee| First of all Baba Nanak obtained the gate of the grace (of Lord) and then He underwent and earned the rigorous discipline( of heart and mind). ਰੇਤੁ ਅੱਕੁ ਆਹਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਰੋੜਾ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੀਅ ਵਿਛਾਈ । Raitu aku aahaaru kari rorhaa kee gur keea vichhaaee| He fed himself with sand and swallow-wort and made stones his bedding i.e. he enjoyed poverty too. ਭਾਰੀ ਕਰੀ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਵਡੇ ਭਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ । Bhaaree karee tapasiaa vaday bhaagi hari siu bani aaee| He offered hid full devotion and then he was fortunate to have proximity with God. ਬਾਬਾ ਪੈਧਾ ਸਚਿ ਖੰਡਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਪਾਈ । Babaa paidhaa sachi khandi nau nidhi naamu gareebee paaee| Baba reached the region of truth wherefrom he received Nam, the storehouse of nine treasures and humility. ਬਾਬਾ ਦੇਖੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਰਿ ਜਲਤੀ ਸਭਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਦਿਸਿ ਆਈ । Baabaa daykhai dhiaanu dhari jalatee sabhi pridavee disi aaee| In his meditation, Baba found the whole earth burning (with the fire of lust and anger). ਬਾਝੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹੈ ਹੈ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ । Baajhu guroo gubaaru hai hai hai karadee sunee|ukaaee| Without Guru there is utter darkness and he heard the cries of the common men. ਬਾਬੇ ਭੇਖ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਕੀ ਰੀਤਿ ਚਲਾਈ । Baabay bhaykh banaaiaa udaasee kee reeti chalaaee| To further understand the people, Guru Nanak donned robes in their manner and preached them to be detached (from the pleasure and pain). ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਸੋਧਣਿ ਧਰਤਿ ਲੁਕਾਈ ॥੨੪॥ CharhhiYa sodhani dharati|ukaaee ॥24॥ Thus he went out to depurate humanity on earth.

  23. ਖਿਆਲ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ੧੦॥ Khiaal Paatshaahi 10th KHYAL OF THE TENTH KING ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਲ ਮੁਰੀਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ॥ Mitra pidare noonDhaal mureedaan daa saihnaa|| Convey to the dear friend the condition of the disciples, ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਰਜਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਓਢਣ ਨਾਗ ਨਿਵਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ॥ Tudh(u) bin(u) rog(u) rajaaeeaan daa odhan naag nivaasaan de raihnaa|| Without Thee, the taking over of quilt is like disease and living in the house is like living with serpents; ਸੂਲ ਸੁਰਾਹੀ ਖੰਜਰੁ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਬਿੰਗ ਕਸਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਣਾ ॥ Sool suraahikhanjar(u) piaalaa bing kasaaeeaan daa saihnaa|| The flask is like the spike, the cup is like a dagger and (the separation) is like enduring the chopper of the butchers, ਯਾਰੜੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਥਰੁ ਚੰਗਾ ਭੱਠ ਖੇੜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣਾ ॥੧॥੧॥ Yaarade daa saanoon satthar(u) Channdaa bhatth khediaan daa raihnaa||1||1|| The pallet of the beloved Friend is most pleasing and the worldly pleasures are like furnace.1.1
  24. saram khandd kee baanee roop, Tithhai ghaarrath gharreeai bahuth anoop. Taa keeaa galaa kathheeaa naa jaahi, jae ko kehai pishhai pashhuthaae. Tithhai gharreeai surath math man budhh, Tithhai gharreeai suraa sidhhaa kee sudhh.
  25. It is told in Gurbani for Banaras ke thhags:- "Mathhe tilak hathh mala bana, Logan ram khilona jana." But it is equqly applied on we people who tell ourselves Sikh but are not ready for Amrit chhakna even after attaining age of 50,60 and 70 years and rather use to reply,"Kee peya Amrit vich, Sikhi ta dil vich honi chahidee he, dil te mann sachcha suchcha te saaf hona chaheede.And rehat nama tells us about such people:- "Dhare kes Pahul bina, bhekhi moorakh Sikh, Mera darsan nahe tis ,papi tyage bhikh." and "Rehat bina neh Sikh akhaave" and "Pratham rehat yeh jaan Khande ki pahul chhakeh" And if we call ourselves Sikh without Khande Baate di Pahul we are also amongst those for whom GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI tell to universe :- "Logan ram khilona jaana."
