  1. Thx for ur response all! Appriciate that a lot!! Yasmin: Tabari VII:97 After the assassination, the Prophet declared, ‘Kill every Jew.’” Bukhari:V1B1N6 “Just issue orders to kill every Jew in the country.” http://www.islam.com/reply.asp?id=477507&ct=9&mn=477507 Tabari IX:69 “Killing disbelievers is a small matter to us.” http://www.prophetofdoom.net/paul_johnson.html koran 008.012 SHAKIR: When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/008.qmt.html Tabari IX:76 “Malik has reported to me that you were the first from Himyar to embrace Islam and that you have killed infidels, so rejoice at your good fortune.” http://www.abrahamic-faith.com/pod/quotes1.html Koran 009.005 SHAKIR: So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. http://www.islam.com/all-replies.asp?id=40...ct=15&mn=407307 While looking at the links, copy/paste the koran/tabari nr in the search function (ctrlB)and it'll be easier. Or google:) As far as my petit knowledge goes, the Prophet has given instructions to kill any jews as quoted above. There are some astute observers, holding the opinion that those who say 'that it is against islam', are contradicting the prophet, and thus committing blasphemy. Anyways, thats not what the topic is about. So... does Sikhi respect such a religion which has such a practice ("good deed") to acheive a place in heaven? AK-47: 1. If Guru Nanak Dev ji says that all these granthi's does not know the truth, then where's the respect? That's the same my friend said: "only Christianity is the truth, rest is false". Hence, he has no respect for my religion:s Does anyone know some punktiya from SriGGSJ... that Sikhi does respects all other religions or is that just an interpreation of some punktiya's? If yes, which ones? 2. Sikhi respects all religions, but at the same time some of their practices are opposed... right? But when it's a good deed in Islam and u will achieve a place in heaven by performing preactices such as killing or raping, stoning, etc. Then Sikhi respects their way of acheiving a place in heaven as well. Thus, we respect their practices. But Sikhi does not believe in killing coz of race... So should that be justified by their ignorance or what... Or should I just shut up, stop wondering and tell him that... Sikhi respects all religions, but opposes some inhumane practices... Fullstop! Also I could mention that SriGGSJ has some quotes from the Koran and Muslim people as well. (Don't know about the bible). One more thing on the record... Bull chuk maff! Think I got my answer from: http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.ppa?showtopic=10082&hl=
  2. For the record... I know that I might be so much wrong!!
  3. Olaaa Seniorita's and Senior's Had a talk with a christian orthodox from class today... Isn't it true that Sikhi accepts all religions. We have one goal which is to unite with God, however we have different ways of doing that. And one Guru (think its Guru Nanak Ji) said: "be a Sikh, becum a betta Sikh, be a Muslim, becum a betta Muslim, be a Christain, becum a betta Christian" etc. ... to unite with God. Interpretated as acceptance of all religions right?? Or what, plz enlighten me... So he asked... now what if it's a Muslim's duty to kill all the jews? If it's in Islam (Koran) is a good deed to do so and in their eyes he will becum a betta Muslim... ...will he even than unite with God? Surely we can agree upon that its not a good action to kill a human being. So if he is following his religion from top till toe, kills jews and is a good Muslim. ... But he's killing, so he wont unite right? Than how does Sikhism accept other religions? Hope u comprehend my two-edged points... wjkk wjkf
  4. SO hope this is some sort of english humor that im not aqquainted with!! Plz confirm ur irony! If not... Can he be a representative of a Sikh Soldier? What's the beauty of a Sikh Soldier with all those killing-equipments!? Dun like the drawing...
  5. Lol... what sort of comparison is that... ofcourse its not fair!!! Well I think we all women are used to fight for our right... but now this man ought to bring out his Feministic side as well. A lot of men think that only women can be feministic... but it goes for men as well.. u guys are just some loosers trying to ignore the fact that there*s a lot of inequality taking place around the men*s as well :umm: Now in terms of the so called "equality betw men and women in the Western world".... Right.... soooo many liberty movements for women have been working for the past many years... and what is the outcome??? That women are working as hard as the men and taking care of their children!!!! These women... Cant do anything right!!!!! Little spice on sikhsanagt..... Are u tired of the "never ending" "sex role game"? (sry dunno what the proper word is" Men and women are different. No doubt! But insteqd of focusing on the negqtive side of of each sex, why not look at the positive qualities of each sex? Lets start with the women... Women are consoling, loving and give Women laughs when they are happy. Women always do something special to show that they care. They always try to get the best out of eveyrhing for their children (best school, best prom dress, best doc). Women have this potential that they will keep on smiling, even though they qre tired or hurt. They try to make a very ordinary meal to a spceial meal. Women knows how to get the most out of the money. They know how to console a sick friend. Women brings laughter and happiness into the world (qnd children as well) They know how to entertain children in hours! They are honest and loyal. Women have this power of Will, which they tackle in a very decent way. Women always make an extra effort to help their friend in need. Women always fall into tears when they see injustice. They know how to make a men feel like a king. All in alll women makes the world a better and loving place to live.... U ought to agree in that... c*mon!!! And now for the men: Men are good at pointing fingers at others, watching the footy, cricket or soccer and make a lot of gand all around... ohh qnd not to forget, such dqrlings they are when they kill spiders. Dont u agreeee!!!!
  6. Whipppzzz... whuzzz!! Waheguru These ppl must be from the Hibz-ut-tahir group!! Eww... So if they do this, these ppl will acheive these nr of virgins in heaven... AllRight, but for what use!! I HAD a Sikh friend who converted coz of a muslim guy, and unfortunately I was not present at that time, and she's wearing a burkha now:( My other Sikh friend told me just recently that... her muslim group of friends had this aim of converting her into a muslim. Thank God somebody told her about this. Lol... both the moderate muslims and the extremist muslims have the same Goal! Islamification of the World. Just for some general info: Number of immigrants in Denmark pr. 1. januar 2003: 1: Tyrkiet - 53.465- muslims 2: Tyskland - 25.211 3: Irak - 24.025-muslims 4: Libanon - 21.202-muslims 5: Bosnien-Hercegovina - 20.618 6: Pakistan - 19.049-muslims 7: Somalia - 17.849-muslims 8: Jugoslavien - 17.696 9: Norge - 15.241 10: Sverige - 14.297 11: Iran - 13.945-muslims 12: Polen - 12.805 13: Vietnam - 12.164 14: Storbritanien - 11.776 15: Sri Lanka - 10.168 1.49.535 muslims out of approx 2.79.535 foreigners... and the indians are not even on the list! And they are on a good path making the moderate muslims extremists by saying that its haram to vote, etc! And when u think future a lot of them are also going to heaven by falling in love with hindu/sikh kuriya and converting them to Islam, coz there's not many indian ppl here... and no inspiration at all to follow their own roots... and u know how group pressure/blind love works, also the hot hot paki's! Thats just great. Baad analyzation, but might be 2% right! :umm: However, I assume that it must be much worse in Britain... Sorry for the boring info...
  7. Sorry about this off-topic question. Iv read about the Mughal rule over Sikhs and Hindu's on Sikh/Hindu wpages. But havn't found any independent or anti-sikh wpage about their rule on the Sikhs Yet? Anyone no's such a wpage? Thx
  8. Wupzz then u couldn't use my reply to anything... Sowwiii Depressions... u'v probably heard this before "ups, downs part of life". This statement is soo irrritating... but it's soo true. Anyways hope u'll get ova it. Life is short... don't let ur depressions spoil ur mood! But talk about it... it'll help.
  9. I do not comprehend why ppl relate boredom to dukh! I do not comprehend why ppl relate boredom to a so called no-life! I wrote a looot, but it got deleted:(. I think sangat gave u some good advice. Just keep in mind that getting bored is a part of life... it has to be, otherwise ur not normal:p its essential, otherwise we wouldnt try to do something different. Not everything has to be entertaining or funny. Doing something different something Really unusuall will also help. Sikhlion says: u might not have a "purpose of life". I think we all have a purpose in life(atleast I hope so), but we should also have a purpose of making life interesting. And actually being bored is interesting, coz u get the time to seek towards Different things that u didn't know about before. Take it with a smile, hug it, keep it in ur mind and do something different! Its healthy:) :umm: PS. Im not a wacky wack person:)
  10. Good quote, perfect timing! - Englishman... hmm seems to me that he no's a bit to the 5 evils(medicine), our Gurudwara's (org of religion) and Guru Granth Sahib ji (treasure)! Virji... aajkal da zamanda te is totally opposite!! An example of ur quote: Gurudwara and comittee rulazz Democracy and Politicians Why do we live in such a nasty society... it's all about competition(ego), showing that ur unique and have some sort of power that makes u different from the others!! Individualism... to be noticed, Position! Thats y everyone wanna show what they are capable of doing something better... (thats what im sorta doing right now) thats why we are competing like dogs with everyone now adays. This is life now adays!! I might be one of those who are "behind in understanding", but I really don't see how anyone can change this pattern. I can't see how those "signs of advancement" are to be made.. Yes if ur a true GurSikh like u, but that's not the case with everyone, and seems quite impossible to make ppl think like real GurSikhs. The question is can we stop this at all, and how? Can we make it possible to see any "signs of advancement"! How will he make these "advances a great reality"! Good luck to him... Although, as my motto says: "Be the change, U want to see"... the only way out of this is, that we integrate the authors or the Guru's words into ourselves... It's a really excellent way of describing society in 5 lines!!
  11. Have a comment as well. Phanji u seem to be a very perfectionist driver seen from an indian(from India) point of view!! Excellent... but everytime I travel to India, I just wish the best for all the drivers. And same thing to you!! Not that I wanna preach on u... But u should learn from ur many mistakes, its not easy... Or maybe u should consider to skip the car and start cyckling -save the enviorment - if not that take the bus!! But still be careful... Isn't this a serious matter rather than funny sowwie if I said anything wrong!! Anyways good lucks honey!! Check this out!!! http://www.mousebreaker.com/games/parking/play.ppa It might help u...
  12. Virji its a good description of love and its relation towards Sikhi! I see a form of a intertextuality in ur writing, 2+2=4!! Well done! I enjoyed reading it... and sent it to mAny otha ppl. It's just soo difficult (but possible)... to be aware of every little thing that ur doing... coz there might be some little thing that makes u do those "wrong" things. Everything is competion, copmii compii here, especially but of all the expectations u have... is this the fear ur talking about!! But guess, the answer can be found in ur own conscience of whats right or whats wrong, rite... but in my mind then competing is wrong as well... coz if u wont compete than how can u accomplish to do what u want to doo... =>Fear?!! I see ur point!!! But it's a good p***** (lol forgot the word, treatment, cure, whateva:)) to become a better person... Its true as that poet says about love: “a river of fire in which one has to drown in order to swim across”!! By reading this, I (might) have gotton a better understanding of what/why things happened in South East Asia. So what if u have this other case... wheneva my brother goes to get a hair cut, I tell him the story of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji comparing with him getting his hair cut by a muslim, etc (Manvir virji's lines). Next time/now Ill tell him not to get a hair cut... and keep on encouraging him like that!! Its pretty obvious that it might work, but a child can get aggressive/irritated in that way as well (from experience). Is that the best way, suggestions? I'll try... hope it'll work. It's really nice to get ideas from u talented ppl. Just wanted to share that sum ppl are actually reading and Using what ur writing... its not a waste, its inspiration and it works!! Thanks a lot
  13. Bhagat Singh is also a very good movie. Classic one!!
  14. It's very true... Our elderlies are soo mad about "having the tOp post" in the Gurudwara, that they'll start shouting and fighting in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji. It's a shame!! Have a question... Is it mandatory for the committee members to be Amritdhari?? Coz... The sharaab thing is very common, but one uncle (he's a mona) is married to a Hindu and one sardarji was married to a danish women, who got a divore and got married again... definately a bad example for the youngsters/kids:((sorry about the detailed examples above) It might be difficult for them to change... but hope our generation will do something about it.
  15. Sangat ji, I assume that Aman virji is aware that as a Sikh u are not allowed to consume alcohol. To answer ur question... Hehe... If that particular person does not get affected by loads of cunsumption of alcohol... then he is an ALCOHOLIC. So, he must have drinked a lot throughout his life, that he has now gotten used to drinking, therefore his body does not react upon that! That's the only thing I can tell u... Ps. How do I delete my post above??
  17. Sat Shri Akal Wow... That's amazing! Virji thanks for putting this story in the forum!! My dear Massi ji has breast cancer. (only 35yrs of age- in Canada) She went through the long/hard chemotherapy process. Lost her hair and appetite as well, she had to wear a wig:(. She's fine now... but once the syndrome for cancer is in u, its likely to come back! Anyways, I'll definately send this article to her... Anyone having a family member with cancer (hope not)?? Waheguru is there!
  18. In Denmark there's nothing, nothing at all!! U guys are SO lucky, there is just some sort of Sikhi inspiration at ur doorstep... lol I have to go to Sweden or UK(close to DK) or even Canada to look for that... well it's okay, but just sad for those young Sikh's who don't/can't spend time/money on this. I could start something on my own, but don't feel im eligible to do it yet!! Hope that the Sweet Sikhi Camp guys will find some time to come to Denmark as well. Just wanna say that ur doing a great job, n when u get the !! Keep it up!!! Sat Shri Akal
  19. Well Phanji it's true, I agree. But sometimes there's not an answer for everything we do in life... its just something we have to understand! (not talking bout the Hindu rituals:)) When talking about young Sikh's ignorance and blind faith (im one of them) I started off with blind faith, but now im on the learning stage... It took me 3yrs to reach so far... lol -and that's not so far! Point is, u just have to start from some place even if u don't know what ur doing. Coz at some point in life these ppl(ex. me) will find that love with Waheguru... Now my brother (12yrs old) he wear's a kada... and im sure after having told him y u wear it many times he dosn't remember! It's a stage... where u just have to learn to wear it without actually knowing how to explain other ppl. Though, when reaching the maturity stage (depends on the person) the person should know a bit more. This is a bit off the topic, sorry, so let's get back to the topic.
  20. I assume that many ppl get engaged coz they definately will get married. Hope that we all have that much buddhi to judge that ourselves... it takes a lot to go there. Of course, getting to know each other dosn't allow u to act as an already married pair... there should be some distance! Talk with the eyes, not with the hands! However, I cannot exclude that it can happen. And if it won't work... then Virji let's just say that u didn't read my post. But it's just a matter of finding a balance rite... what ur conscience tells u to do and how far u can go if u can judge that there is something speciel! Mkhalsa virji... why isn't it appropriate for GurSikh's? Of course we have 2 different oppinions but maybe I could learn something from you... if it's persuasive enough:)
  21. Obviously it's not the best to do. But Virji, I feel that it's important to get to know a little about ur lifepartner before going one step ahead, ie. marriage. I hope u agree with me. Regardless, many parents are still stopping their kids to meet each other privately. The society's thoughts just can't die out by accepting them... u have to be the change to see the change! They can either accept or reject it. If they reject it u can just go out infront of them and create problems at home or u can go out unknowingly (im not telling u to lie, but just trying to ignore to tell it). Sometimes it's just good not to let ur parents know everything you do. Of course, that's up to the individual her/himself... it's a matter of prioritizing!
  22. Sat Shri Akal Virji Hmm... I would suggest that it's rather important to get to know phanji a bit more. It shouldn't even stop u if ur Amritdhari... Right? In some situations parents don't want their kids to get to know each other before marriage... I would just suggest them to meet each other secretly, though to a limit.
  23. Im the victim here! Lol... very well discribed! I guess some of this happens at my place... well it used to! Now the only reason behind that is coz my grandparents and parents were raised in Ambhalla and later New Delhi, so guess they were stuck with many Hindu rituals after coming to Denmark, and couldnt get away with em coz of the some sort of "moral support" u get by doing these funny rituals, at those times... u know the hard years while getting settled, or something like that! Dont trip when u read this... izz corrupt!! Point nr 1- my grandmom/mom(they are religious) didnt want us to eat meat tuesdays. Now its only my mom, and she fasts every monday as well:s Even Karva Chaut, I used to say that i'll do it as well... but NO more(this was 1yr ago). I'd rather take my husband out for a date, lol! But, if I tell my mom to do stop doing it now, it'll be difficult for her... maybe its her way of saying that she still loves her husband. Ofcourse there are many other ways to do that... but as a child I can only tell her to stop (and she says no) or just try to understand her! What about Puran Mashi (dunno spelling), ppl fasts for Guru Nanak Dev ji... is that wrong as well?? Point nr 2- true... used too, but no more! Point nr 3- used to go to the mandir while living in india when i was 14-16 yrs old... like thrice a year. I spent 3yrs in Guru Harkrishan Public School (in NewDelhi), and all my Sikh friends used to go to the mandirs when there was some sort of big Hindu festival, so got affected by them... think so. No more though... but we don't mind going there either. Is it really wrong?? ...Hmm I guess it is right ?!? What if ur going to the mandir as a tourist? Point nr 4- Yeap, we still do that! Point nr 5- Yea, my grandma/mom used to say that, but not now! Or u cant even cut ur nails at nights... crap! Lol, this is jokes when u really think about it! No more... Point nr 6- Yea, we have a picture of Ganeshji and Sai Baba, and also of the Guru ji's. Point nr 7- 10 yrs ago, castes was something special in my fami, but thank God, its no more!! I have been discussing about these things with my mom... but she wont understand. However, there has been a development! It's very difficult for these ppl to get rid of it when they are raised with it! It's very sad... coz its contradicting what the Guruji's said! But I can only blame it on the circumstances and culture... don't wanna blame anyone for that, but maff karna a tiny bit on my grandparents(ther are religious as well). The only thing I accept here is pnt nr 4. I don't go to the mandir, but don't see anything wrong if a Sikh goes there. But some Sikh's are extreme, some are not... some things can be acceptable, some cannot! And the points above CannOT... Im still a learner... so Bhul Chuk Maf!!
  24. Im also on the Sa Re Ga Ma stage of learning keertan/singing. And right now its not that motivating... i guess coz its going so slow and my voice!! So, some tips would be nice or some previous topics/links about it? Thx
