  1. There are people who go to Rehanswais and sit there all night for a good 10 / 11 hours, all the way through it... surely they be hungry between it but.... AMdrhu iqRsnw BuK geI scY nwie ipAwir ] a(n)dharahu thrisanaa bhukh gee sachai naae piaar || Hunger and thirst have departed from within me; I am in love with the True Name. nwnk nwim rqy shjy rjy ijnw hir riKAw auir Dwir ]1] naanak naam rathae sehajae rajae jinaa har rakhiaa our dhhaar ||1|| O Nanak, those who are imbued with the Naam, who keep the Lord clasped tightly to their hearts, are automatically satisfied. ||1||
  2. Some rammaleey are SOOO beautiful!!! Makes u wanna stare at Guru Ji throughtout the whole time your in the darbar sahib. For example the rammala last night at Rookery Road was absolutely georgeous!!!!!
  3. His jacket was well cool!!! Apparantly he goes to tabla lessons at smethwick on sundays... So if you wanna meet him, you know where to find him!! Hes a 'normal' man, think he may have got excited after seeing the sangat and listening to the brilliant kirtan!! As for giving him the choor sahib, if i were you, i would have gave it - why distance someone from Guru Jis seva?
  4. ummm... i still cant understand why everyones getting confused on the dates! Anyway... sadly the smagam at GNNSJ (Soho Rd) is over But a quick summary... In one word the smagam was AMAZING!!! The 'theme' of the smagam was "naam japoo", stratergies on how to naam jaap were told as well as personal experiences of many of the speakers. From the minute we woke up the the minute we slept there was a great buzz of "cant wait to get back to the diwan hall 2mro" The whole smagam was well organised the speakers were excellent - straight to the point vichaar, there was no beating around the bush. Bhai Darshan Singh Ji had touched many hearts there as everyone tagged behind them everywhere they went. Baba Jis speech stessed the importance of seva, simran and kirtan. Gurcharan Singh Jis talks were as moving as ever as he talked about the jathas experience to Panja sahib, it felt as thou Guru Nanak Dev Ji themselves were sitting amongst us all. For whole 2 days every ones hearts were just naam jaaping, there was a sence of warmth in all the sangat, the simran we all did was really touching, you could feel your body tingling as the whole sangat joined in. However, the highlights of the smagam must have been when Panja Sahib came to us... WOW... OMG, i have never experienced anything like this (for those who atteneded im sure you felt the same thing) Nirmal Singh Paji had kindly bought the amrit from panja sahib and shared it with the sangat there. There was mixed emotions between everyone there. Doing reharaas sahib and simran on the roof was amazing, felt like the whole world had stopped and there was nothing else to do BUT naam jaap... truly amazing! The whole weekend was a truly amazing experience, where many emotions were shared... Now its over its our duty to continue what we learnt as well as look forward to the next smagam (which with Guru Jis kirpa should be soon)! The only complaint which probably evryone had was... "ahhh my legs are killing"!! I recommend everyone to attend the next smagam as you will learn SO much in so little time... cant believe its over!

  9. Not too sure about Alpha showing a live broadcast, but im pretty sure either punjab radio or sukh sagar is.
  10. Where is the recognition for Sikhs in that ? I doubt the play write is nothing more than a pseudo Sikh who professes to be of the Sikh faith just to justify the fatuous production. Take the play off unless she gets rid of any situational moments in the Gurdwara. Then by all means she can put her play back on. Not that it will do any good because the critics panned it left right and centre last week as being rubbish. I didnt mean sikhs would get regonition in the play being shown, but in the protests which would be preformed. This way others being local, national and global would come to know of what a sikh is and what thier belief is, as it would make others wonder what the big fuss is about which would make them look into this further. However, this recognition may be positive or negative. Positive in the sence that others will see why the play must be stopped and negative in the sence sikhs will get a bad name, as mentioned in the evening mail as "violent mobs"
  11. For many years Sikhs have wanted recognition not only in the media but around the world. Now that the regonition is there (being broadcasted in many forms) maybe it is a good thing that the play is to be said be shown at the Old Rep Threatre in brum... That way we would get more recgonition as sikhs? :T: BTW, I am in NO way for the play to be shown!!
