  1. For a start I think gurdwara's will be empty for a while and weddings may have to be called off. Funerals will however will have to go on.
  2. Video showing attack on Leeds schoolboy at bus stop sends shockwaves on social media Police confirmed the sickening video, showing the teenager being violently bullied, is being dealt with as a hate crime By Anne-Marie Senior 17:20, 28 FEB 2020 News A video showing the shocking moment a Leeds schoolboy was brutally attacked and narrowly avoided falling into traffic on a busy main road has emerged on social media. The footage, believed to be of a 15-year-old pupil at Morley Academy, shows a boy wearing a traditional Sikh head-covering being violently punched nine times by another schoolboy close to a bus stop. The unprovoked attack begins with the bully laughing and taunting the schoolboy, whilst being filmed and coaxed by other children standing on a nearby grass verge. The thug then launches into a violent attack, landing up to nine punches on the boy - the impact of which can be heard on camera. As the Sikh boy tries to defend himself, he is pushed closer and closer towards the edge of a busy main road, dangerously stepping onto the carriageway at one point. Seeing the danger, the onlookers shout: "On the grass, get on the grass". The bully eventually allows the boy to walk off as a bus approaches the bus stop. The video was shared on Twitter by Sunny Osahn on Thursday and has already had 26,000 views and more than 720 shares. Accompanying the video footage, Sunny posted: "If this 15yo Sikh boy ends his own life, would you even care? "I’ve had a FaceTime with him for the past 3 hrs. "He has faced relentless bullying since year 7 (11/12yo). Now in year 10 he is petrified of going to school. He has nobody to turn to and targeted daily for being Sikh. "You have failed him @themorleyacad, because you blame HIM for his bully’s racist, hateful actions and you’ve given NO support. "Not only is this boy a minority in the fact that he is Sikh, but he is an Afghan Sikh. "His parents do not speak English (well) and are lucky to have settled here in Leeds... But imagine fleeing a war-torn country only for your child to be filled with terror every day of his life." Nearly 300 followers commented on the post, expressing shock and outrage and calling for action. Among those reeling was Kam Rai, deputy leader of Redbridge Council, who called on Leeds City Council and MPs. He wrote: @LeedsCC_News@LeedsCC_News@RachelReevesMP@RichardBurgon@alexsobel@FabianLeedsNE@hilarybennmp anyone of you willing to take this before it goes too far?" One user Rob @rancidnecro said: "Anyone locally with any decency should help the lad out, racists are all Billy big b******s when they have a numbers advantage, but they will soon melt away when confronted. Hope the lad gets some help." Simranjeet Singh @SimSingh101 said: "I can get some Singhs together and literally walk him to and from school everyday and help him in any other way." While another tweeter @MissCentury wrote: "What can we do from further afield or outwith the Sikh community to help and support? Heart breaking, please tell him that a lot of people DO care." Morley Academy said they unable to comment when they were contacted by LeedsLive. But West Yorkshire Police Superintendent Jackie Marsh, of the Safer Leeds Partnership, said: "We are aware of footage currently circulating on social media and a comprehensive partnership response is in place. “A hate crime has been recorded and we are working closely with the family of the boy. “As per their request, the matter is being resolved via the school concerned in conjunction with our Safer Schools Liaison Officer. “We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure there is no repeat and where necessary providing support to the local community.” https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/news/leeds-news/video-showing-attack-leeds-schoolboy-17834752
  3. I dunno i get a feeling that we entered a new decade of unpredictability in the world and anything is possible nothing should come as a shock. A bit like how 1900's stock market crash deep depression lead to ww1. We have alot of retail companies and financial businesses going bust, got this mad global virus thats no going away anytime soon. We almost had USA kick off with Iran earlier this year... now we got hindu/muslim thing in india and turkey vs syria/russia which could lead to alot of instability in the world.
  4. I have a feeling modi and RSS co want a way to get rid of muslims from india especially since hindus are being persecuted to extinction in afghanistan, pakistan, bangladesh, kashmir. They want to either start a civil war or give muslims a taste of their own medicine so that if their people are harmed in other countries they will ensure muslims in india feel the pain too and thus giving pakistani, bengali extremist muslims notice to change their ways knowing their actions may impact on indian muslims. Either way it doesn't look good for the world alot of major conflicts are breaking out in different parts of the globe especially libya and middle east and then we have this strange bio weapon corona virus thing going on. Sikhs should be prepare for anything alot of madness coming soon i feel
  5. I see a very low IQ liberal left cuck rodent felt offended and felt the need to attack me....nice haha
  6. Stand for righteousness yes. Only thing we can do is neutrally speak out against injustices against innocents when we see them not be partisan in our approach. In practical sense different times different era's different approach is needed. Sikhs need to learn to adapt or get vanished for their petty virtue signalling. End of the day try wielding a kirpan against an evil doer and you'll be arrested and in jail faster than you can put it away. The Sikhs of era we are inspired by were sovereign sikhs in their own area of control and laws and rules. If we try to be wonna be modern day sant saphi's mowing down every rioter or criminal we come across we'll just get rolled over by the state and its own huge numbers of modern weaponised fully armed personnel. The so called khalsa warriors of today are not able to match even a tiny percentage of the calibre of purataan Sikhs of era's past nor modern day warriors of 1980s/90s. We learn't the hard way how real world politics works and which communities had our back, which we found out were none.
  7. yup they came for sikhs and no1 helped us. We learn't the hard way well those with any IQ that is the ones who havent learn their lesson perhaps have no love for sikhi they want it to mix and blend and vanish into history eventually. At least in nazi germany the Jews had the western powers and huge financial banking power backing them up and western allies had their various foreign empires troops fighting the nazi's and japs. Sikhs are cannon fodder for the political powers now. As soon as we break out of that subservient slave mentality to non-sikhs the stronger we will be in our determination to better our community.
  8. Exactly and we are in no position of helping others when we ourselves are in the weakest position of all religious communities within india. We are seen as harmless, soft, sellouts, jokers, backup dancers and left wing cuck liberal virtue signalers now When sold out akal takht jathedhar says to help the muslim victims of the riots but not the hindu victims he makes us look stupid and biased islamophiles by not reaching out to all affected. We Sikhs should not even entertain this mess let the idiots try sort out the mess themselves they got themselves into. Siding with one side or another just further weakens our position.
  9. No one saying is you can't help those in need if they come to you for help. What we are saying we should not go out of our way to help those who will turn around and slap you around your face once they aren't in danger any more. It's like when people try to help break up a fight between 2 morons and what usually happens is that the person in the middle the have a go hero usually ends up getting beaten up himself or stabbed and killed. The guru's gave us the example of helping the downtrodden.... 160 million strong indian muslim community with 50 muslim countries to their name, 1.6 billion population are not the weak and downtrodden. The Sikhs are the weak and downtrodden 30 million population and no country to their name. The dalits are downtrodden, non-muslim minorities afghanistan, bangladesh, pakistan are downtrodden, etc, etc. No Guru's never went out of their way to help a religious community that didnt ask Guru sahibs for help. Guru's waited until those in need came to them for help, otherwise they would have been taken for a joke and soft touch going around trying to help mans who didnt ask for help while their own sikhs were weak, oppressed, no Sikh land to their name and getting persecuted to death. The liberal cuck lefty Sikhs have yet to learn the lesson the hard way maybe 1984 wasn't enough for these type of Sikhs as a wake up call to realise that we have no real friends or allies out there. We are out on our own and we need to unite and look out for our own first ALWAYS.
  10. Haha exactly, we must have the right wing mentality of survival of the fittest. If we aren't the fittest like we haven't been for the last 150 years then we will get rolled over as we have been done since the fall of the sikh punjab empire and other surrounding sikh kingdoms. If we aren't shrewd like the abrahamic's and continually to be left wing liberal idealists / cucks thinking some how those who hate us will start to accept and love us are sadly wrong and mistaken as history has proved time after time.
  11. a disturbing parallel with delhi 1984 and delhi 2020 is that at both instances we had the RSS sponsored hinduvta extremist the bajrang dal goons involved (along with congress mobs in 1984) and in both instances the delhi policemen on the streets said they can't do anything except just show that they are their and some even join in hindutva rioting gangs with the rock throwing against the muslim rioters. The delhi police when questioned why aren't you sorting the situation out and attacking the unruly mobs they said ......we dont have ordered to do that. Crazy!!!! So the question then arises... why don't they have orders to intervene? who is the politician or delhi police chief who is allowing riots to go on without intervening and stop them? same thing happened in 1984..... it seems like a systemic problem a structured protocol to ensure minorities are oppressed and put in their place at the blessings of the state. The same thing happens in pakistan and bangldesh with muslim sunni mobs targetting shia or non-muslims
  12. check the thread i posted on about pro-islam sikh's they need to be aware of the agenda of the muslim extremists who target low IQ or impressionable/ vulnerable non-muslims for conversion in order to further their agenda.
  13. All i can say is thank God for Sikhi lol But I'd say each to their own if literalist hindu's wonna indulge in that crazy stuff good luck to them same with literalist muslims do your thing guys but don't involve us lot to be involved in your mad rituals and group thinking haha
  14. So i came across this documentary type video on youtube quite interesting information I hadn't know before.
  15. reminds me of what sikhs faced in 1984 delhi but on a very very very small scale. in 1984 Sikhs faced a huge genocide that the world turned its eyes away from and still no community has helped to get justice the indian muslims in delhi at the time were taking part in the mass murdered of innocent sikh civilians. However Its unfortunate that a masjid was targeted by the hindu mobs recently. No place of worship should be targeted nor any innocents. The muslims and hindus have historical beef and their ideologies teach them something very different to Sikhi. So as for the hindu/muslim riots well it was expected seeing how it was all going....... the indian muslims are protesting and agitating for nothing and they actually in es sense protesting against the rights of foreign born hindu, sikh, christian and buddhist minorities living in india that have been persecuted by the muslim majority so they had fled to india for safety from Islamic persecution. The act that India passed was to ensure these non-muslim minorities were given a safe haven within india. Muslims have 50 countries to their name if anyone feels persecuted in any country they can freely seek refugee in that huge number of muslim countries. The Sikh position should be that we stay out of this mess we have some few low IQ sikh brothers joining the protests to show their leftist creditianals not realising that these muslims never stood with sikhs when sikhs protested against injustices in 1980s. Instead the indian muslims actually were the majority of congress mobs and joined in with bajrang dal to murdered and rape sikh civilians with over 5000 dead within 3 days. Lets not forget this and lets remind our low IQ sikh brothers of the facts not to forget what haappened in 1947 for sikhs having to come to india cos of the muslim demand to split punjab up on basis of islamic homeland seperate from non-muslims.
  16. The UK will be officially leaving the European Union club What's your thoughts on the whole issue?
  17. It was good pay, revenge, mistrust and hatred for the arch enemy mughuls in which the Sikh soldiers sided with and loyally served the british imperialists rather than the combined muslim and hindu rebel soldiers. Had they rebelled too and served the indian rebel army them no doubt the british invaders would have been massacred and thrown out of india and yes perhaps they would have had an earlier opportunity to regain their sovereignty and expand their rule into other territories but maybe there could have foreseen other dangers to which why they didn't change the course of history the way it played out?
  18. going off topic on this one..... but my assessment on the current trend within younger generation especially the girls is that they adopt the negative vile traits of western urban black culture and hero worship the black man because they are more promoted in the media's popular culture and in the urban street culture they grow up in. So that they are seen as default as the alpha male, to the girls these days it doesnt matter these days about the guys intelligence or life/job prospects because if they give off the perception of being more body confident and street wise it means they more desirable and sexy in females eyes and off course the readily the use of violence if these guys do not get their own way so much so that even the police/authorities are scared of tackling due to being called racist. It's a subtle form of Stockholm syndrome wanting to appease or ego massage your violent or abusive stronger peer. Before the girls of older generations generally all used to look up at the white man or fairer asian/brown man. The fairer the guy was the more intelligence, rich and handsome he was perceived in society. Its interesting how popular culture dictates the perception people are groomed brainwashed to believe about a racial/ethnic group of men.
  19. Haha wow that's a pretty good assessment on our weaknesses especially on our peoples excesses on intoxicants or appeasement but what about the other categories? (strengths, opportunities, threats?). I would also say lack of unity and lack of parchar in the home and to outsiders is a major weaknesses. However I believe as many weaknesses we have as a faith community that we may have at the moment we have just as many strengths and punch way above our weight in terms of our numbers being only 30 million world wide. We are able to change global and national political landscape by good or bad actions when we are really pushed against the edge because we have people that are taught by gurbani to not take oppression, be hard workers, be charitable and be self-reliant and sovereign in thought (do not blindly follow like a sheep).
  20. An interesting insight in the documentary was sunny talking about how bhai Jagraj before becoming religious had been indulging in intoxicants and liberal atheist western lifestyle excesses however after attending sikhi camp he had transformed himself into a practicing sikh. It goes to show the power of Sikhi when people who become lost in the dunya who have tried virtually everything yet still have the feeling they are missing out on something and yearning for something deeper. Often questioning themselves is this all that life has to offer? drugs, sex, work, taxes and then death and nothingness. I believe bhai jagraj had a bit of an enlightenment moment when he realised Sikhi offers a more powerful stimulant to the mind via naam simran meditation which is beneficial for the mind, body and soul. And it is why alot of punjabi's of Sikh heritage who are lost to atheism liberal hedonist lifestyles often become more religious than your average moderate Sikh when they learn about Sikhi as they seen there is nothing fulfilling spiritually and long term in the western atheist ideological lifestyle.
  21. What would you say are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) facing the sikh community in present times? You can base your analysis globally or locally/nationally.
  22. Seems like theres alot of personal beef and agenda's in this thread and its going off on a tangent. Lets get back to the discussion. If someone tries to provoke with personal attacks just ignore them and carry on with debate at hand.
  23. Ideally yes that would have been best for all concerned. Sikhs would have had their nation sovereign state in all probability. Only problem was the Sikh princely states (patiala, jind, faridkot, nabha) which were under the British protectorate, were allied with the British imperialist occupiers and thus lent their Sikh soldier manpower to the British empire's war efforts in Europe. Had they collectively rebelled against the british in occupying punjab they would have had their freedom back to rule as they wish and safeguarded the Sikh kaum's future so no partition of punjab sikh homeland and no sikh genocide in 1947. With the lack of manpower supplied to the british war efforts in europe then the british allied forces would have lost key divisive battles against the opposition german allied forces and overrun and invaded by them. England would be under german occupation either by the german kaiser imperial forces during ww1 or hitler's nazi foot-soldiers had world war 2 have to have been played out. The British white historians and establishment down play the role of the Sikh and foreign commonwealth soldiers in both world wars they do not want to acknowledge the supreme sacrifices these men made for someone else's war because it doesn't suit their narrative.
  24. Chillianwala – the forgotten British defeat Previous Next Previous Next Lt. Col Muhammad Arslan Qadeer (Rtd) 4:59 PM | January 08, 2020 Just 35 Kms south west of Kharian located on the eastern bank of the river Jehlum is the village of Chillianwala. Insignificant as it looks and unknown to most, this small village apparently is no different to the vast countryside surrounding the Kharian Garrison on either side of the GT road. Nevertheless, it is this singular and unique honor attached to the village of Chillianwala or Chillianwallah as it was spelled then, to have served as one of the biggest and bloodiest battlefields in the history of warfare. The Anglo-Sikh war of 1849 is perhaps one of the few battles which go down in history symbolizing the greatest military debacles the British had suffered. Right on the entrance to Chillianwala, on the western side of the road situated on a high ground is the gleaming gigantic grandeur of the obelisk made of red sand stone reverberating the great battle fought under the British Commander in Chief Lord Hugh Gough and Sardar Sher Singh Attariwala. On four sides of the structure are the inscriptions in English, Hindi, Urdu and Persian. Enclosed in the same premises are the five graves in perfect condition. Out of these, two in the foreground are thought to be of Brigadier John Pennycuick and Brigadier Alexander Pope. The gravestones however are regrettably missing. Just adjacent to it is another premises housing a giant metallic cross resting on a huge foundation. The main inscription reads: A Cruce Salus To record the names of the brave officers who fell in the great battle fought on the adjoining plain, 13 th January 1849. The Cross was placed beside their tombs by Richard 6 th Earl of Mayo Viceroy and Governor General 1871. On the western side of the base holding the cross is inscribed the long list of names of European officers killed in the battle. The first two in the list are Brig John Pennycuick Commander 5 th Brigade and Brig Alexander Pope Commander 2 nd Brigade of Cavalry, the two being the senior most officers in the British side among a total of 2357 casualties on 13 January 1849. On the eastern side are the infantry, Cavalry and artillery unitsthat took part in the battle. The battle of Chillianwala is unique as it marked the foundation of the Indian rebellion and led to the great uprising of the native armies then under the control of the East India Company. Chillianwala marks the biggest debacle wherein the British was defeated most decisively despite beingmilitarily and logistically overwhelmingly superior. In addition to military preponderance, the British also enjoyed towards their side the advantages of favourable terrain and weather as opposed to that in Afghanistan in the three Anglo afghan wars – the situational factors so fondly highlighted by British historians. As the story goes, it all started after the death of Ranjit Singh (1839) when his incompetent sons proved to be too weak to hold the throne. Karak Singh his first successor could not stick around for long and was deposed within four months. Another son Naunehal Singh though a very capable and competent person met a premature death after being crushed under a falling arch. He was succeeded by one of Ranjit Singh’s many illegitimate sons who was despised by the elders and nobles of the court and was soon removed from power. It was then Rani Jindan, one of the many wives of Ranjit Singh and a former dancing girl usurped power ruling in the name of Duleep Singh, her five year old son. Rani Jindan along with her hindu confidants was wary of the strength of the sikh army. She knowing well that her fragile marriage with power could fizzle out any time struck a deal with the British which envisaged destruction of the sikh military might and continuation of her rule. To materialize the plan the sikh army was incited and launched across the Sutlej river (The Anglo-Sikh boundary) to invade East India Company’s territory. As a result of treachery and poor leadership the sikh army was thus decisively defeated on the 10 th of February 1845 and the Sikh state came under the domination of the English East India Company. Henry Lawrence, who was the British Resident, became the de facto ruler overlooking the affairs of the state on behalf of the infant Duleep Singh. The Sikh army had been humiliated and felt that it had not been defeated militarily but merely betrayed by its leaders who wanted destruction of the Sikh army and acted treacherously. Later in April 1848, Diwan Mulraj, the Governor of Multan, which was the southern Punjab province of the Sikh State rebelled against the British regent and all the sikh troops at Multan joined him. To suppress this uprising the British organized three columns to march towards Multan; one under General Sher Singh, one under Lieutenant Edwards and one under Lieutenant Lake to recapture Multan. Consequently, in August 1848 a siege was laid against the city of Multan. On the 14th of September Sher Singh with all his troops crossed over to the rebel side. Sardar Sher Singh Attariwala as he was known, after consultation with Mulraj decided to move north of the Chenab River. His father Chattar Sigh the Governor of Hazara province who had already rebelled, joined him by occupying the strategic Attock Fort. Thus the British lost almost the whole area north of the Chenab River in addition to the Multan Fort. The Governor of East India Company had meanwhile issued orders for the invasion of Punjab and crush the sikh rising under the leadership of the overall Commander-in-Chief of India and also the East India Company’s private Bengal Army, General Sir Hugh Gough. On the 11th of January 1849, Gough resolved to attack Sher Singh’s position the centre of which rested a few miles west of Chillianwala. On the 12th of January while carrying out a reconnaissance, he discovered that the Sikh had swung forward. On discovery of the Sikh position so close to Chillianwala, Gough decided to attack the Sikh position on the next day that is 13 Jan 1849. The British Army was divided into two infantry Divisions (3 rd and 2 nd ) with a Cavalry Brigade each on outer flanks. The 3rd Division commanded by Brigadier General Colin Campbell formed the left or southern Division launched an enthusiastic but reckless attack based on a conventional bayonet charge. Though they did manage to reach the Sikh positions, however in the process the punishment inflicted was too severe. The Sikh counter attacked and the assailants withdrew in disorder towards Chillianwala. The leading Brigade Commander Brigadier Pennycuick and his son Lieutenant Alexander Pennycuick killed in the bloody engagement. The 2nd Infantry division commanded by Major General Sir Walter Gilbert formed the right (northern) division. Gilbert’s leading Brigades aptly supported by artillery successfully cleared all Sikh positions in front and drove the Sikhs close to the River Jehlum. While Gilbert was reorganizing for the final assault, he was suddenly counter attacked by the Sikhs in force from his rear. This happened due to the fact that his integral cavalry brigade which was commanded by Brigadier Pope and was responsible to guard the right (northern) flank and rear of Gilbert’s Division, completely overrun by the ferocious cavalry charge of the Sikhs leaving the right and rear flank vulnerable to counter attack. Sher Singh Attariwala immediately ordered a counter attack and Sikh infantry and cavalry located on the north-west hills immediately advanced down from the heights through the open gap created by the absence of Brigadier Pope’s cavalry and encircled Gilbert’s division from the rear followed by a ruthless massacre. The damage done at Chillianwala to the prestige of British might was enormous and played a major role in changing the attitude of native states towards British leading directly to the ‘Great Sepoy Rebellion’ (The war of independence 1857) in which the British almost lost their Indian Empire and the English East India Company whose private Bengal Army had fought Chillianwala lost India to the British Crown. https://nation.com.pk/08-Jan-2020/chillianwala-the-forgotten-british-defeat
