  1. As for nihaal he is a buddhist and a prat. From my experience with Buddhists (who do not believe in a God) they try to stir and interfere in places they are not wanted. Nihaal has no business in telling Sikhs what we believe in and not. I haven't listened to the program yet but going by threads in this forum regarding his previous shows regarding Sikhs ...well he has form and his track record isnt good.
  2. Thats the problem with west london singh he often bats for the other (muslim) side and his Sikh loyalty and credential's become very doubtful indeed. Its good to provide a balanced point of view but when you neglect the harm that people do to your own Sikh community and you do not say anything to those who try to undermine the Sikhs then whose community do you exactly belong to?
  3. so your the type of Sikh if you are a Sikh to shrug your shoulders say 'oh well' and even sell out your own kind rather than actively stop something being done to our community. Seems like you agree with this type of material...shameful And yes I have read what Sikhs did if you had bothered to read my previous posts you would see i stated there was madness on all sides. Sikhs only hit back after their famililes were murdered and raped and their holy places desecrated and destroyed. This is when Sikh jatha's formed and hit back at muslim populations. Also the pakistan muslim league / Ali sena and hindu Mahasabha and RSS hindu cadres were actively killing Hindus and Muslims alike... I know what went on and dont say Sikhs were the biggest killers of muslims because thats the biggest lie I've ever read from you whereas its a fact Muslims were the only Killers of Sikhs in 1947 in many places (such as karachi/sindh and mirpur/Kashmir) not just punjab. It was the Hindu militant organisations such as RSS and others who killed the most number of Muslims. Sikh Militant Jatha's were very localised to Punjab whereas the Hindus Militants were spread throughout India.
  4. Did Sikhs not suffer as much in human life? Are you for real? Ask the fathers who had his daughters kidnapped or had to behead his daughters so save them from being raped and murdered later on by the muslim mobs. And I'm not even saying that is the issue you skip over it conveniently....the problem is they use their material to instill create active hatered against Sikhs and other non-muslims. They dont even need an excuse as Quran and Sunnah is enough for a Muslim to be haterful of non-muslims....so anything that adds to that hatred is only a bonus to the Islamo-fascist propagandists. I cant believe your even defending this material and think its fair play, a true Sikh would be outraged how our community is demonised or mocked in their popular serials as if bollywood wasnt bad enough.
  5. Yes there was madness on all sides, however thats not the issue. The issue is that this propaganda material is brain washing naive average pakistani muslims to show our people and faith in a bad light and theirs some how better. It's like what the Palestinian muslims show on their tvs of Jew's looking nasty and devious whereas the Muslims as innocent bystanders suffering unwarranted persecution whe truth is both sides commit atrocities on each other. This kind of material they are showing in Pakistani tv's feed into the hatred and violence that is all to common against non-muslims in muslim occupied lands. You just have to see what goes on in Pakistan to realise these people are easily lead by the nasty demonic jihadi mullahs to do their evil bidding. So Sikhs should object strongly to such propaganda material that demonises our community. These kind of materials are being used by islamo-fascists like Zaid Hamid who is trying to radicalise Pakistani Muslim youth into thinking its ok to hate and harm the non-muslim community as they did this to ours in partition, etc. Maybe if we radicalise our youth against Pakistan and muslims and present counter propaganda it will balance things up...
  6. This is how they view us and teach their people in propagandist drama's. They do not show how Muslims instigated the violence, raping and kidnapping of our girls/women, looting of property, desecrating of our holy places and bloodshed and how Sikhs were outnumbered and a minority compared to the vast numbers of Muslims in the region. How Sikhs survived the genocide to this day can only be a miracle.
  7. Dal Khalsa like other Sikh organizations are not using their brains, they raising awareness of problems but they need to start doing missionary work on indian muslims and hindu's otherwise there will be bigger problem for the kaum in the near future. And like sitting ducks Sikhs wont take action until its too late we are less in number and again the oceans of hinduism and islam engulf our kaum to physically further reduce our numbers. Sikhs give charity to poor hindu's in India without asking them to convert or educating them about Sikhi. From 2% population some years ago the latest census showed Sikhs are behind Christians in India by 1.8% This India that Sikhs fought to defend and help liberate should have at least 50% Sikhs already if not more in this day and age but no we have organisations (like SGPC) run by freemasons and sellouts who want to keep the status quo and not further the interests of the kaum.
  8. Depends on the music. If you listen to instrumental music while doing naam simran it will enhance your state of mind and consciousness. If you listen to hip hop rubbish and loud rock music this type of nonce with vulgar lyrics especially you will behave and think in similar manor. Music is very important it has the power to influence your behaviour and thought processes. Just look at how young girls and boys of sikh heritage dress, talk and behave these days its all down to popular culture which has heavy influence from black american or british musical artists singing vulgar songs and nasty cheap lyrics./..this is how our young people are getting influenced to behave in the manor . Guru Nanak Dev Ji listened to the raabab and sitaar playing these instruments and the simple sound vibrations they cause I believe have the power to lift your state of mind to a higher consciousness.
  9. I have always wondered why did ancient chinese people kept long hair especially the warriors they seem to have topknot guthi's as its interesting how they kept their hair uncut similar to how our Khalsa's are ment to. "And this is an answer I found thought id share In Chinese traditional society, people believe hair is part of the body and is bestowed from their parents. To show the reverence and gratitude of the birth given by whom, ancient Chinese normally keep their body from unnecessary harm and don't cut hair. So even men have long hair in the past, it's the fashion of Qin Dynasty to twist hair at back of head, then cover and fasten it by using headpiece such as a bandanna. That's the reason why the warriors seem to have knots in their hair."
  10. Yes i agree with your last statment but sadly most do not appreciate the true blessing of being born into a Khalsa saroop family. Thats why you seen cases of Sikh boys having suffered much bullying and torment in the west having resorted to creating fake victim stories where they cut their hair and claimed racists did it. Only 1% of those cases were true the rest where just fake because of the pressures they faced in their lives. This is why I think never force your kids to adopt the Khalsa saroop they must earn it, its a blessing to be one but you have to have quality for Khalsa than quantity. a Sikh is a student of the Guru. Khalsa is a martial brotherhood of Sikhs and the individual is a sant sapihi
  11. Jsinghnz, I think it is ment to be that the turban dies a slow death because of he false impositions of Khalsa bana on Sikhs from birth. This is the wrong concept and approach. So naturally people who were forced to wear this bana will reject it as they get older and those who feel like being in the Khalsa order at a later date and understand what it means to be a Khalsa will adopt this bana. I think its a good thing what is happening and always was ment to happen. The important thing is educating young Sikhs about Sikhism and how it is relevant to them in their day to day lives not the turban and uncut hair thats a false agenda created by people who have a narrow minded view of Sikhi they getting smaller in number thankfully. Keeping uncut hair and dastaar does not make one a better Sikh than one who cuts their hair is my argument. Maybe it makes them a better Khalsa but not a better Sikh. by default
  12. It's true the turban and Khalsa identity is under threat but its always been under threat ever since it was founded. So do not worry if it dies a natural death it was in the hakum of Waheguru and it does seem that way I think its a good thing as Khalsa was falsely imposed on all Sikhs by edicts from SGPC at the determent of the Sikh kaum. Now as only those with conviction chose to adopt the khalsa identity come through the ages there will be less of them but they will be more purer in Sikhi instead of the lets chuck all the Sikhs into the Khalsa camp other wise their non-sikhs approach that has harmed political interests of our kaum since SGPC drew up the rehit maryada. And lets And lets not forget there are many fake Sikhs (former 3HO chairman) and Keshdhari hindu's who pretend to be Sikhs wearing the Sikh identity who fight for money or hindustani agenda rather than the Sikh national agenda. So you can not judge a Sikh from his/her appearance any more just because one may have uncut hair and a dastaar its not a gurantee they have the love and best interest of Sikhs and Sikhism at heart (eg KPS Gill)
  13. Lakh Lakh vadiya to the sangat. May Waheguru bless the kaum with the strength to ever be ready to fight back and over come any threats or challenges posed in the present and in the future.
  14. Teetotalism in the context of Sikh history probably refers to no use of intoxicants/drugs. It is well known the nihungs and other Sikh warrior orders use phaang (cannabis drink) when they go to war as it has proven medicinal qualities and gives the person a higher state of alertness and stamina.
  15. Manas ki jaal sabhai ekai pehchaanbo is the Guru Gobind Singh's message. which emphatically states "men may call themselves Hindus, Muslims, Emams and Shaffies, but I see them all belonging to one race—mankind." Guru Gobind Singh had given Banda specific orders to punish those who had persecuted good saints like Pir Budhu Shah. He had not mentioned any revenge on those who had executed his own young boys at Sirhind. He had expected Bahadur Shah to fulfil his promise to punish those who had committed atrocitics on good men, but had parted company from the Emperor completely disappointed. Banda Singh was then taught to bring to reality the Guru's own dream. - http://www.sikh-hist...iors/banda.html
  16. Banda is known and much celebrated in Bengal, thanks to a famous poem by the poet-philosopher, Rabindranath Tagore, titled Bandi Bir (The Valiant Prisoner). The poem outlines the heroic Sikh rebellion and resistance of Mughal atrocities. Here are portions of the first and last parts of this phenomenal poem (in Bengali, written phonetically here): Pancha nadir tirey Beni pakaiya shirey Dekhite dekhite Gurur mantre Jagiya uthhechhe Sikh Nirmam, nirbhik. Hajar konthe Gurujir Joy Dhoniya tulechhey dik Nutan jagiya Sikh Nutan ushaar Surjer paane Chahilo nirnimikh. ....... Sabha holo nistabdha Banda'r deho chhinrilo ghaatak Shanraashi koriya dagdha Sthir hoye Bir morilo Na kori ekti katar shabda. Darshak-jan mudilo nayan Sabha holo nistabdha. Here is an approximate translation: The Mughals and Sikhs together kicked up the dust of Delhi thoroughfares; Who will offer his life first? There was a rush to settle this; In the morning hundreds of heroes offered heads to the executioner, calling "Glory be to Guruji"; The Kazi put into Banda's lap one of his sons; Said... must kill him with own hands; Without hesitation, saying nothing, slowly Banda pulled the child on his breast; Then slowly drawing the knife from the belt, looking at the boy's face, whispered "Glory be to Guruji", in the boy's ears. The young face beamed; The court room shook as the boy sang, "Glory be to Guruji;" Banda then threw the left arm around his neck and with the right plunged the knife into the boy's breast; The boy dropped on the ground, smiling, saying "Glory be to Guruji". The court was dead silent. The executioner tore apart Banda's body with a pair of red-hot tongs; Standing still the hero died, not uttering a sound of agony; The audience closed their eyes; The court was dead silent. (Note this is a poem written hunderd years later and not actual account of what happened the actual account is far more graphic)
  17. I think banda like any human being had his faults and short comings but his legacy and his contribution to the Sikh cause is invaluable. The way he was able to achieve so much where once he was a mere forest dwelling hindu hermit after his conversion to Sikhism he became a tiger and commanded thousands of men on horseback willing to engage the murderers of sahibzada's and other Mughul authorities in various battles. And had he had the ego as that claimed about him he wouldn't have struck coins in the glory of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji he would have put his own image and name on them. He is definitely in my list of top 5 hero's of all time. The criticisms or rumors people had of him are as follows: Gur Bilas Patshahi 10, by Koer SIngh Kalal, in 1751, had written that he turned egoistic so he was not helped by Khalsa and let dead in fortress. Mahima Parkash, by Sarup Chand Bhalla, mentioned this fact that he went against Guru Gobind Singh's wishes and argued with the Khalsa. The Khalsa left him in the fort as a result. Shahid Bilas Bhai Mani Singh States that people started believing Baba Banda Bahadur, as the 11th Guru of the Sikhs and Bhai Mani SIngh resolved this issue that he was not guru. Sir John Malcolm, in Sketch of Sikhs (1812), an English christian supremacist historian mentioned about Banda Bahadur that: ...he was a heretic; who intoxicated with victory, endeavoured to change the religious institutions and laws of Guru Gobind Singh. He changed salutations to fateh dharam fateh durshun. Banda made many confirm to his orders Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha mentioned in Mahankosh that:ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਜੁਦਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਕਿਓਂਕਿ ਓਹ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਸਥਾਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਗਦੇਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਕਰ ਚੋਰ ਸਫਾ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਫ਼ਤਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ |
  18. Nice video and katha but not quite what i had in mind lol
  19. Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj promised anyone who fought for the Sikh deen/religion would attain mukthi/salvation should they become shaheed. Therefore by banda refusing to convert to Islam and taking the torturous death path for his past sins in his love and fight for Sikhi he must have attained mukthi. But only Waheguru knows who is saved and who isn't we can only go by what Guru sahib has promised and said.
  20. Yeah there is some controversy regarding that he split the Sikhs regarding what agenda they should follow however his legacy was crucial for laying down the foundation stone of sikh sovereignty first time in history.
  21. What Banda did at sirhind even he acknowledges he transgressed against some people there so therefore he was accepting of taking his punishment as Waheguru Ji's haukum that he be tortured in such manor. Sirhind was literally smashed it would have been like a thunderous firestorm hit it, and that was banda who was given that power like an angel of death. The Muslim majority of Sirhind who were not slain then did embrace Sikhism there after and it gave the Sikhs the lift they needed to take on the Mughuls (turkic mongols) rulers head on and crush them in various battles.
  22. What Sant longowal did in the last months of his life were unfortunate but you cant judge a guy or his legacy for one moment of foolishness. In the past we have had some Sant's who made various statements before the Indian government in agitations who failed in their bids to gain any concessions from the central government. We had sant fateh singh in 1960s who died fasting I think? without achieving much....before that we had master tara singh who tried to fast yet stopped due to ill health and didnt get anything. Longowol did achieve concessions from Indira gandhi and did his bit for the Sikh kaum but also fell into the trap of congress scum and ultimately paid for it with his life for alienating militant Sikhs. shaheed Sant Longowal vision of the aspirations of Sikhs in India: “Let me make it clear once and for all that the Sikhs have no designs to get away from India in any manner. What they want simply is that they should be allowed to live in India as Sikhs, free from all direct and indirect interference and tampering with their religious way of life. Undoubtedly the Sikhs have the same nationality as other Indians.” 11/10/82 Pretty much what shaheed sant bhindranwale wanted if you listen to his speech on youtube he did not want a Khalistan as many congressi scumbags or hindu hindustani zealots try and make out. Sant Longowal and Sant bhindranwale both tried their best in the interests of the Sikh community they only differed in tactics. Sant Bhindranwale was more military minded and willing to exercise the use of Guru given rights to bare arms and use them in defense of the faith and the kaum.
  23. I can sort of understand why meat threads are not allowed, over the years ive been on this site i've seen a dozen meat related threads hijacked by anti-meat leftists and then countered by pro-meat right-wingers and it always descended in to closed topics. So I guess it is better not to discuss it in this forum, perhaps we can should on another forum, explore that issue in depth as its quite interesting.
  24. longowal was the moderate voice of the akali dal he did his bit for the sikh kaum. I used to think he was a traitor after reading other peoples views of him on forums but after researching his achievements as in agitations and protests he organized against the government and what he tried to do for the community i see him in a different light. We often are quick to label our leaders as traitors/gaddars without seeing the good and the bad they have done and then balance it up to come to a conclusion if they have been a force for betterment of our community or opposite.
