  2. 100 desert Taksal over maryada dispute Sunday 17th April, 2005 Amritsar (KP) - Over 100 followers of DamDami Taksal left on Thursday saying that Taksal was going against Panthic norms. They alleged that jathedars had beaten them when they spoke out against the chaliha (forty day purification) that is currently hapenning on Taksal grounds. The Singhs who left pleaded with Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti of Akal Takht Sahib to summon Taksal jathedar Baba Harnam Singh Jee "Bhindrawale" (previously Dhumma) for going against Panthic maryada, or code of conduct. 13. ‘Pick a title: Dr, Mr, Mrs, Ms or “Sant”’ Sunday 20th March, 2005 Gurmukh Singh - Panthic Weekly Staff (KP) How do you become a Sant or Saadh? Who gives the title “Sant” to put in your name? Why weren’t there any Sikh “Saadhs” or “Sants” during the times of our Guru Sahibs? In Gurbaani the word “Sant” or “Saadh” in singular form refers and means Guru Ji. In Gurbaani the word “Sant” or “Saadh” in the plural form refers and means Gursikhs (those who follow and live the teachings of the Guru). A true Gursikh will not call himself a “Sant”. A true Gursikh will not ask people to massage

  19. Sikh Student Allowed to Carry Kirpan Sunday 20th March, 2005 Ajaib Singh - Panthic Weekly Staff Greenburgh, New York (KP) - The suspension record against a 15-year-old student who wore a kirpan, usually mistaken for a weapon or knife, to school was cleared and the Central 7 school district agreed to let him wear a smaller version of the sacred symbol. Ninth-grade honors student Amandeep Singh of Hartsdale had been wearing a kirpan—an article of faith in the Sikh religion—since he was baptized at age 8. Many of his friends and teachers knew about it, his family said, but on Feb. 4th Sin
  20. Wearing a Kalgi (a plume) on one’s turban signifies that the person is a royal person, a king and a person with great responsibility and respect. Unfortunately in recent years people have been following the practice of putting a Kalgi on the groom’s turban on the wedding day, which is ceremoniously removed in the Diwaan Hall in the Gurdwara Sahib by the groom’s sisters. Is wearing a Kalgi in accordance to Gurmat, the Guru’s way? Could you wear a Kalgi on your turban and walk inside the Golden Temple and not be stopped by fellow Sikhs or sewadaars? Is wearing a Kalgi in the house of Guru

  22. Chicago (KP) - The argument whether Baba Daljit Singh is a parcharak of Sikhi or if he is aligned with anti-Panthic forces is not a new one and has been coming ever since his early years of gaining standing in the Sikh Panth. He started off with spending years studying Sikh philosophy and history from Baba Hari Singh ‘Randhawe Wale’ and later become the head-granthi of Keshgarh Sahib but was soon removed from his duties due to reasons which are not well known to the Sikh Sangat. In a recent press conference, the Khalsa Panchayat announced that it would continue with its mission of exposing
