  1. Gurfateh ji! This ardaas helped me at similar times - when doing normal ardaas, add in english or punjabi, that Maharaj regardless of what happens or how much dukh i go through, may i never forget u, my only ardaas is no matter how crap i feel may i never leave ur path. Maya is clever at making u feel that sikhi and God are not worth it...but really ur saying ur not worth it. God resides within u, u are worth it hence why maharaj gave u Amrit. I feel that u may have self esteem issues. However we feel about life, ppl and ecen God is a reflection of how we feel about urselves. maybe this is an opportunity to work on ur self. maybe the question really lies not whether ur a good sikh or not but whether u feel u are a good person. How would u like to be? Go with the flow...let muddy waters clear...
  2. Btw if you have any recordings of Baba Jis katha whilst he was in your area, please post them up. I would really appreciate it too. Thanks.
  3. WJKK WJKF! Baba Ji did katha in London, however, from my understanding there was no live stream. If i get hold of the recorded katha in London, i will post it up on here. Baba Ji tends to do katha at various places in India, but I have not heard of any live streams. Sorry. WJKK WJKF!

  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Do people find that although something is not written in books about sikhi, that certain information that is read in other books etc is SO related to sikhi? Well anyway I read something about spiritual self awareness that I thought was just really cool. Maharaj always talks about how u can find him within yourselves. Your soul is a part of maharaj, therefore maharaj is within u. I should really put quotes here, but nothing came to mind straight away Someone else more knowledgeable can help me here. But what I also found was I struggled with doing that, because it meant I had to think about myself. How do I think about myself without getting into the narrative of ‘meh meh meh’ – maya. Anyway…here’s what I read…thought I would share…. Orthodox faiths are generally uncomfortable with what they see as self –serving spirituality. The word ‘self’ is often regarded negatively and thought to mean selfish. The word ‘self’ might be deemed contrary to the Christian exhortation to “love thy neighbour”, but this ignores the next part of the phrase, which is, “as thyself”. The emphasis on compassion for the weak often ignores the positive aspects within us, and can produce dislike for strength. But in spiritual development a strong inner self that comes with maturity is vital. In contemporary spiritual practice, self-respect and self-love are not thought to remove the person from God or higher states of being but rather become the very means by which first-hand communication with a higher power is reached, and from that it is believed that the emancipation of the true inner spirit can occur. The negative aspects of self are like veils obscuring the true inner nature or highest self, and need to be parted or drawn away as the individual journeys deeper and deeper towards the core of his or her spirit……………………..wahegurooooooooooooooo!! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  9. Katha is amazing......... Btw anyone know where Giani Thakur Singh Ji is staying? Maybe someone can PM me the address?! Would really appreciate it!
  10. If a good friend of mine acted in the same way as me, I wouldn’t condemn her. So, why do I condemn myself and feel guilty for the very same thing? People are more compassionate and understanding when their friends do the wrong thing than they are towards themselves, when they act in the self-same way. Why is this? When your friend commits a sin, and you do not condemn her behaviour, you have a different attitude towards her than you have towards yourself when you do the same thing. Thus, you believe that while it may have been desirable for your friend not to have acted badly, she is not a bad person for so doing. However, when you act in exactly the same way you believe that there is a law of the universe that states that you absolutely should not have done what you did and that you are a bad person as a result. In short, you have a non-demanding attitude towards your friend and accept her as a fallible human being who can do and has done the wrong thing. However, you have a demanding attitude towards yourself and you refuse to acknowledge that you are a fallible human being who has acted wrongfully. If you inspect closely this different set of beliefs, you will discover an interesting point. What you are saying about your friend is that she is a fallible human being who is allowed to make mistakes, but that you should be super-human and not make the same mistakes. In a sense, you are treating yourself as if you are god-like. Failing to achieve your god-like status, you then consider that you are a devil – literally a bad person who absolutely should not have acted in the human manner that you did. By doing this you completely overlook the fact that ‘to sin is human, to forgive yourself, divine.’ Thus, when you are compassionate towards your friend, you are treating her as a fallible human being who has done the wrong thing. When you fail to show compassion towards yourself, you are demanding that you should be above human fallibility and if you are not above fallibility, I.e. god-like, you are below fallibility, I.e. wicked and bad. Thus, to show yourself the same level of compassion as you do your friend, you need to challenge the idea that you must be godlike and you need to accept yourself as a fallible human being, equal in humanity with all other humans.
  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I found the following in another forum and thought.....wow, so true! Not sure if its on this forum anywhere, but no harm in sharing again..... Importance of balance Mahatma BUDHA WAS a prince , beautiful dancers , wealth , palaces , aritocracy , all pleasure of kingdom were not able to gave the internal peace to him , one night he left the palace and started living in forest , he gave much harsh treatment to his body , he lived without food , he sarted performing difficult aasans to remember lord , he tied himself up side down from trees , stayed in cold waters and so on , but all invain , still he was without peace in this frustation he was wandering , and he saw a artist adjusting the string of a musical instrument ,when string was loose it donot produce sweet voice , when it was tightened it breaks down , then artist made a very fine balance of the tension in the string , then the instrument produces a very melodious music . then mahatma budh sensed that neither hardship nor pleasure leads to god , there should be delicate balance bw them , the path of religion is very narrow ie on edge of the sword , balance is very necesasary as said by baba sheikh farid ji ਵਾਟ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਖਰੀ ਉਡੀਣੀ ॥ The path upon which I must walk is very narrow. ਖੰਨਿਅਹੁ ਤਿਖੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਈਣੀ ॥ It is sharper than a two-edged sword, and very narrow. ਉਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਹੈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ That is where my path lies. ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਿ ਸਵੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ O Shaykh Fareed, think of that path early on. ||4||1||

  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I came across this article from the sikhnet website, and thought, even though a lot of people may have read it, it was worth sharing here. It talks about about people who pray at least 1 hour or 2 a day actually change the sculpture of their brain. The more you focus your attention on one thing (for example, God, football, etc), the more that becomes your reality and the more it becomes written into the neural connections of your brain......it is sooo cool! So start focusing people (including me) on God yeah?!.................lol... Here's the link, http://www.sikhnet.com/news/prayer-may-res...nd-your-reality Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
