so sorry bhaji i thought jagjit bhaji said he had articles... I am so grateful for your reply....if anything my friend has inspired me to learn and re-learn more about sikhi.....have to admit i have been a bit lazy for a while now..it was like a kick up the backside for me...i mean what if i meet someone who is questioning my faith and i have nothing to back myself and the religion. jagjit bhaji i would appreciate that when you find your articles that you post them up on here, i would like to read them. I have knowledge on sikhi....but i just have to brush up on it more...and learn more (we can all learn more) and re-read books i use to read.. Also we can say that our guru granth sahib was written by the prophets themselves, but they would argue even though this was, their quran was actually written by god himself..yes it was some time after Mohammed, but nethertheless, whoever did write it, was writing through god... Anyway i do not think my friend who has converted to islam is talking to me now...we had a huge debate on this..well mainly why i could not tell her straight who wrote the Guru granth sahib..because i kept telling her to do her own research and get back to me on what she found..she wanted me to tell her...but i knew why..she would of questioned it..she told me she was just interested because she wanted to know more.....so i said the best way to learn is to research and anything she was confused on to get back to me.....also call me paraniod but i could actually hear someone in the background saying things to her to say.....you know what people..evil as this may sound but i don't mind that she is not talking to me..i know..im mean so why so many religions if only one is the right way? do we believe that sikhi is the only way to get to god?

Another thing my friend said is that the quran was writte from allah, whereas the guru granth sahig ji was written by man Would you guys stay friends with your friend that converted to islam? wouldnt it be wrong to disown them when there family has? Do you think it's right to convert to another religion or should you be in the religion you were born? some more questions....sorry people.....but what do you all understand sikhi to say about religions...is our religion the only way to get to god, like muslims and christains believe?

jagjit waheguru bhaji, i really liked your post. Thank you! Have to admit talking to my friend, i did realise i know so little about my own religion.. i'm ashamed to say . I tend to listen, soak in and reflect upon what's been said and do my own research...gian is powerful!! The muslims have shown us that....we should take that from them.......

ooooooooops what have i done! lol! Maybe Mohammed did marry a 6 yr old, and everythign else you guys have all written....however....i personally believe that we should not put down another religion's prophet....i have a feeling you all might say that you are not putting him down but merely stating facts..well fair enough but your just picking and choosing facts that make him look bad. I do think my friend is confused.....because shes been converted by a muslim...she knows alot about the muslim religion already....i just listen and take in the facts and defend our religion.......but what i can't stand is the fact that they think there religion is the only way......... out of interest have we already had a discussion about why we have so many different religions? My muslin friend said that in the christian bible it states that only one more prophet will come down to earth to guide people..hence mohammed...and the quran does not say anything about anther one coming along, meaning guru nanak dev ji....also she has found that they have arguments against other religions but not really anything against sikhi..it does not even mention sikhi.. btw thank you All-Info.

yeah i'm aware they try to catch you out, but truthfully, it's making me do more research in sikhi, so it's kind of helping me, cuz i find things that only strengthen my sikhi. If i'm confused i'll post here :TH: I checked dates, mohammed was born ont he 20th April 571 and died on June 8th 632, whereas Guru Nanak Dev ji 1469-1539. Thanks guys! If anything else crops up i will do research fi rst and if i'm still confused i will ask you guys..my sangat!

The reason i'm confused is because a friend who is muslim said, and i was thinking i'm sure they weren't even around each other at the same time. Is there any where i can find this information, a story form a book, etc?

I wonder what the bibiya would say to that...so how many bibiya would consider marrying someone younger? I've heard about a bibi marrying a guy 1 year younger but i can't see any bibi marrying someone younger than that....

is the rehat suppose to be changed to adapt our life style now???? Personally i think NOT!! Like many are saying ...the older the better...obviously more closer to what the gurus have said......also if you believe in the guru's fully and obviously god, you know that the guru's could look to the future and they have taken everything into account when they created a rehat...this is just what i think....but hey..who knows! Not trying to diss any religion but the reason why many people think that the christian religion is abit..i dont know the word...well put it this way, the reason people think we have a sort of advantage is because we havent created a new testament!!
