  1. http://www.sikhnet.com/Articles Read one or two of these articles by Yogi Bhajan, a bit long, but they'll help, trust me!!
  2. Excellent replies, really has opened my eyes. Over the years, as my interest has increased in Sikhi, i have met tonnes of Chardi Kala Singhan and Singhnia they have an unbelievable rehit. Personally i think everyone should play a part in encouraging Sikhi, dont know which person, but ive seen a member on this forum, i think its Sher_Punjabi, at the end of his posts he has 'Be inspired and inspire others', somethink along those lines. Theres our answer, its not good enough being a saint soldier yourself this age anymore. Everyone needs to make an effort and consider themselves as a leader, touch the soul of other, make someones life happier, i read a quote the other week "SERVE OTHERS AND GOD WILL SERVE YOU". This could be anything, helping someone, use your saintliness to help your mates in depression, take a van and feed the homeless every week. Actually, i got an e-mai from a friend of mine today, i would like to share it, its on the same lines as this topic. One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay hisway through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you? You don't owe me anything, she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.. Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled! They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words..... "Paid in full with one glass of milk (Signed) Dr.. Howard Kelly." Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands." There's a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the waters comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about? We as Sikhs, need to be the woman who gave that glass of milk to Horward, God will work miracles for us!

  9. You are you and you are nothing else but you I am who I am and that is that If you want to know the infinity, know the finite first, know yourself Kindness, forgiveness and righteousness are the tripod on which rests the God-conscious of the being The truth of self-surrender is to give yourself to God As a human, the only weapon you have is kindness You have two enemies, fear and duality, say ‘NO’ That’s it You have to be You. Nothing less than you will work. You minus ego is always you. Make your temple clean, Make your heart open with love so he can come and sit in it. You should make yourself so happy, that by looking at you, other people become happy Wisdom, character and consciousness conquer everything The greatest power is peace of mind You are here to serve, uplift, be graceful, to give hope and to give the very deep love of your soul to all those in need. It is only when you have inner peace, then people will trust you Have an open consciousness, let the hand of god take a chance. RA MA DA SA SA SAY SO HUNG:- These are the eight sounds, have some you are the richest healer ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO Happiness is a complete infinity, it can make you the master of you destiny With service, love becomes elegant SERVE OTHERs, GOD WILL SERVE YOU If you ever want to test you love, test it against how fast you answer the call of duty. Give hope to those who don’t have hope, give love to those who don’t understand, give food to those who have not eaten, and give comfort to the uncomfortable, that’s divinity We have come here to serve each other Life is a flow of love, only your participation is required You have to talk to people and uplift them, it is not enough for you to be a saint yourself, now is the time to make others feel that way. There is only one way to be happy: serve others Today’s small little note, small thing said, tomorrow will become a guiding star for the people who will be jumping at you to serve and save them In adversity show clarity and royalty of positive character. That is the highest achievement It is not a matter of who you are, it is a matter of what you can do for others The anchor of life is love, compassion and kindness The highest status which a man can enjoy in a human life is self-compassion The highest thing a person can learn in life, is that one should grow beyond one’s faculty of isolation We must be guided by faith, if we are guided by fear we block ourselves and our expansion The moment you compare yourself to others, you’ve lost your personal base. You are in competition so you don’t have the strength to be you Walk tall, Walk gracefully, walk with self-respect, give yourself a chance You become fearless when the love of God comes so near you to that you not only trust in God, you dwell in God. Give people tranquillity, peace and grace Truth is the key to everyone’s heart, if you speak the truth, it will open up the heart. What you say should not just be truth now, but should be a proven truth tomorrow Love is nothing but infinite trust, trust is nothing but infinite love You should all have the strength, gratitude, compassion and kindness of God Love is an intuitive strength, a person who loves knows all The entire grace of the self is soul. If you courage to be graceful, you shall live forever Grace is the most powerful tool, it will bring you trust, appreciation, love and prosperity. Every individual is made in God and is beyond judgement Beauty is in the heart, Just remember that God lives there Your greatest strength is love. Your greatest weakness is fear (Taken from Sikhnet.com, yogi bhajan tribute page)
  10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki FAteh, Thanks you veerji for sharing that with us. Also check out the last "notes" part of the following article: http://www.sridasmesh.com/startrek.htm
  11. Waheguru Ji KA Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Ranz_Killa, i dont think you read my post correctly, Bhul Chuk Maaf Waheguru Ji KA Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  12. Totally agree with you, but it doesn't help at all when the guys fighting for justice are fighting among themselves. The guys who are behind the injustice are actually working together, unlike ourselves, 'We are our own enemies". Thats the problem.
  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Ive been reading this forum for a couple of months now, and been very reluctant to post, because i know anything i say will spark controversy. Honestly guys, i cant believe you guys actually have time to argue about who said what, why you shouldnt eat meat and all that, to be frank you're never gonna have an effect on sikhs the way you guys approach people. The only posts i actually look forward to are from guys like sher_panjabi, veerji if you're reading this, Waheguru has blessed you with a gift man, you really know how to inspire people! A wise Gursikh once told me the sikhs need to learn how to AGREE TO DISAGREE, only then can Sikhs as a nation unite! Sikhs have no plan, we're doing this and that, even after 20 years we haven't managed to get justice, we're not united; which means we don't have the power. All these meetings you guys are organising to fight for Khalistan isn't gonna work, noone is gonna have your back, trust me, been there done that, what is Khalistan actually gonna achieve, except more bloodshed? Don't look to india for help, those days have gone, Sikhs in the UK are the next generation Sikhs! The only way we're gonna get power is if firstly we unite, one voice means one nation! Sikhism is turning into a ritualistic religion like Hinduism, one of my friends asked me the other week if the guys at soho road are another sect of Sikhism!!!!!! when i asked him why he said that, he said another sikh mate of his was telling him the guys at soho road are against sikhi! Do you get what i mean? The only way Sikhs are gonna survive in the future is if we unite. I mean as singhstah said, "We are our own enemies". I mean the other week i was reading you guys wanted to put a petition against Sikhnet! Why? I mean i know why, but what for? what's that gonna achieve? As the youth of Sikh, we need to encourage our people to go into business, politics, law. We need to have a network of sikhs in the UK, which connect to the sikhs in USA, singapore, malaysia. We need to help each other out, you imagine having a powerful base of sikhs around the world. You imagine if all the most powerful sikh lawyers in 10 years got together and opened an organisation to fight justice for 1984, man I tell you if we had that much power, the world would be In our hands! We should have meetings to encourage our people to go into these sort of professions whilst maintaining their Sikhi, just paint a picture in your head of what we as Sikhs can become, its phenomenal; providing we do just one thing, just put our differences aside for a few years and work together! How do you think Jews have become so successful? They work together, they have an underground network, of insurance brokers, lawyers, judges, businessmen, and they all help each other out! Look at companies like IBM- I bet you didn’t know, in their headquarters they have a 200 year plan of where they want their company to be, 200 year plan, 200 YEAR PLAN! As a NATION, as the SIKH YOUTH OF UK, we don’t even have a 10 year plan! Look at how well some of the American Sikhs are doing; check out www.akalsecurity.com (the biggest man security provider in the USA, and its run by a Gursikh!). I know some of you guys are gonna say “oh, they don’t let turbaned people work for them”, it’s a security dress code, and Sikhs shouldn’t be working for anyone, we should run things, we should live our dreams rather than work for someone elses dreams! Anyway Sadh Sangat, I hope you’ve taken even one work of what I said, forgive me if I have offended anyone, I am not agains t you guys, please don’t get the wrong idea, if anything, I know which sangat I want to spend the rest of my life with; its gursikhs like you who have made me proud of who I am. Thanks Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
