  1. Keep it real jee, your points are genuine and valid, you have full right to believe so. Only that much I will tell you, when you say you have full faith in Mahapurushas and Guru Jee´s Gurmukhs and you question of them being here on the forums..... You see, we are judging them from our limited spiritual vision. Though they may look humans like us, even then they are above any barriers, and thus through someone they may convey an answer to you, or satisfy our queries in some way which we never ever have thought about, so you see, let us not question their capacity, they are one with Wahiguru. Being a Gurmukh, is not a diploma in some field, rather is an avastha, a level of consciousness which is omnipresent and omniscience. May Wahiguru bless you. Sat Sree Aakal.
  2. Simran as means of devotion: Many of us, think, that devotion to the Lord consists of several outer activities. You see, Wahiguru is One without second. He is like the powerful magnet who attracts us towards Himself. But then, how does He attracts us? Or how do we get attracted to Him? It is by His Simran alone. That is why the Bani says: Prabh ka Simran, sabh te oochaa. There is nothing comparable to it. It is the highest devotion which one can offer it at His Lotus Feet.. All other activities, are mere shadows of mannmat, which lead us nowhere. One may say, what is this ? Don´t you ever have anything else to say, apart from His Simran? You are constantly hammering on Simran alone, in terms of devotion.... Well, it is not me, nor my personal opinion. It is the very Bani, which insists so much. It is only, that we do what we see others do or say. And that is not correct. We should pay attention with our eyes wide open, to only what the Bani says. Following are the words of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sachay Patshah Arjun Dev Maharaj, where we can see by ourselves the supreme importance in doing the right type of bhakti. He says: ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪਿ Ath Pehar Prabh Ka Japau Jaap आठ पहर प्रभ का जपु जापि Twenty-four hours a day, chant God's Chant. He clearly says 24 hours . You see, if the day had 25 or 26 hours, one could do 24 hours Simran, and the remaing time other karamkaands. But no, He says, do His Simran 24 hours. Now we may ask, how to do 24 hours Simran? The answer is : khaateh, peeteh, chalteh, phirteh, sovat, jaagat, visar na jaat ... premee sunoh prem kee baat. Apart from this His constant Simran, we should try to sit for some time, and meditate on His Naam, so that our surtee soars up in the spiritual realms within, and savour the taste of Bliss, which cometh out of this His Simran. Sat Sree Akal.
  3. No problem pen jee, Wahiguru is with us, and moreover within us at all times, not only at the so called Amrit Vela .... But it is advised to do the bhajan bandagee at that time, because it has its advantages, like no telephone calls, no traffic noises, no tv nor radio ...or any other distractions or interruptions. Only we ourselves and our beloved Wahiguru. The best time to be with our Beloved in solace. But if that time is not possible due to our style of life, or call it circumstances, then it does not matter much what time we dedicate it to Him; but to devote ourselves at His Lotus Feet is a must, only then can we strengthen our relation with Him, because we by nature are very weak and mean. Anyway pen jee, do not loose hope,do not ever turn away your face from Him under any conditions. Because if we turn our faces away from the Light, only darkness awaits us... He is our Light, our hope, our anchor also, it is matter of time only... Till then, you have all our support, affection and blessings. Sat Sree Akal.
  4. Brother, what we really need is to be good at the bottom of our hearts. Goodness is essential to walk any spiritual path, and so is with Sikhee also. Otherwise it is all politics. Lets us ask ourselves, what Maryada do we really need, when we do not follow even in dreams, that what Guru Jee tells us in the Bani. Anything which takes us to Wahiguru, is maryada. If not, it is as said above, just politics. And so what is it that takes us nearer to Him? Is it a set of rules and regulations? No. It is a pure heart, and mind, all that we need, in order to be able to do His chintan adecuately, because ultimately, only this bandagee will take us to His Darbar. I agree that as a community we need to draw a line somewhere and stand united, but if due to all this paraphernalia, we fail at a personal level in following Gurmat explicitly, we shall always remain as loosers and it is also shameful. I am not discouraging anything or anybody, I just want to bring awareness of the only thing that really matters, and that is putting into practice the basics of the Bani in our daily lives, thus having Him present not at some particular moments, but at all times. We are sikhs not because of the world, but we are sikhs because of Wahiguru alone, to realize Him within and without, is our sole objective for being born as humans. Sat Sree Akal.
  5. Sister, I am very very sorry to listen about your present condition. Only thing I can tell you, is just concentrate on what you are doing at any time, so that you do not make mistakes so oftenly. Not that we are humans, and we can not make mistakes. But the unjust society always expects the best from women. So "beta" start from this point, do the best by paying attention/concentration, in all that you do, so you do not give them chance to open their dirty mouths. Once you succeed in this , believe me, you will get confidence in yourself and you will be in a position to progress, to handle all this negativity, but dear beta, you have to take the first step in succeeding in your paying attention in all what you do, be it studies, housework, etc. It is not that I am perfect, but I do analyze and learn from any negative situations that I do face here and there; as Kalyug is full of negativity. And usually I do overcome all that negativity, with His Grace. We have to face negativity in order to overcome it, if we hide and become a bit weak, then that negativity eats us, and this we should not allow, cause if we do not struggle and fight for ourselves with losing balance, nobody will. Then, within your ownself, pray to Wahiguru, talk to Him, not about accusing Him for your present condition, but asking Him for forgiveness for any past karma, for which you maybe going through, and then ask Him strength and grace to be able to go cheerfully through them. At about 3 am, get up if possible and do His bhajan bandagee as much as you can without fail everyday, and throughout the day do as much as possible saas saas simran of Wahiguru. Then leave it everything on Him, as whosoever inflicts pain on others, is planting the seed of pain for himself / herself. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  6. Pen jee Simran345, how can you be so hard with me, in your ending line with the words "to educate ji" ? I believe you did not meant it that way, but that is how people get wrong impressions, and the problems start .... specially with some narrow minded ones. First of all, I am no one to educate anybody at all. It all dependes on our recptivity as persons, as human beings... Then, rather I would be grateful, if I am taken as a friend, as a brother of the sangat here .... We are His children, there is nothing great in giving a helping hand where needed, and be thankful to all to have a opportunity to sing and listen His apaar mahima. We are all sikhs, learners..... He alone is the Gurmukh, is the Sadhu, Bhagat Jan or Guru Sahiban. Sat Sree Akal.
  7. We all know Bhagat Kabir Jee was a great soul, a lover of God, we have gone through His Bani in the SGGS. Today I was just surfing on the net, and I found this following poem of Kabeer Jee, which is very interesting, very inspirational, and which goes much with the topic of this very thread, thus I would like to share here it with the sangat. Here it goes: Bhaai, koi satguru sant kahaawe, nainan alakh lakhaawe. Dolat Dige, na bolat bisare, jab updesh driDhawe. Pran pujya, kiriya te nyara, sahaj samaadhi sikhaawe. Dwaar na rundhe, pawan na roke, nahi anahad arujhaawe. Yah man jaay jaha lag, jabahi, parmaatam darasaawe. Karam kare, nihkaram rahe jo, aisi jugut lakhaawe. Satt vilaas, traas nahi man me, bhog me jog jagaawe. Dharati tyaagi, akasahu tyaage, adhar madaiyaa chhawe. Sunn sikhar ke saar sila par, aasan achal jamaawe. Bhitar raha so baahar dekhe, dooja drishTi na aawe. Kahat Kabir basa hai hansaa, aavagaman miTaawe. Kabir says - O brother, rare is the Saint Satguru who shows me unknowable. He has given me such a firm knowledge that no one can shake it. It can’t be forgotten, neither can it be shaken off, such strong knowledge he has given to me. He had shown me something dearer than my own life, beyond any actions, he has taught me to do effortless meditation. Now I don’t stop my sense organs, I don’t control my breaths, neither I get entangled in anahad sound(the sounds in meditation or yoga which make possible our reach up to Trikuti). Now wherever and whenever the mind goes, it sees the supreme only. He has taught me such a method that even while I perform the action, I am beyond the actions. Now I abide in Truth, having no pain in the mind. Now even in pleasures of this world I am in constant union with my beloved. I have abandoned the earth and the sky both and have made my hut in between. On the rock of the great void, I sit and do the effortless meditation. Now what is within is also without, what is inside is also outside, now there is no other at all. Kabir says – the pure soul has taken such a place that the cycle of birth and death has come to an end. If we read and understand this poem carefully, we can see that just as in Gurmat, He clearly only lays stress and utmost importance to the devotion of Naam Simran above any other practices, which are totally futile, in our goal of acheiving Him. In the end He also says, that doing this type of devotion, one cuts off the chains forever from the mayavee creation and reach the region of Absolute Truth, Sach Khand. Sat Sree Akal.
  8. I would say, riddhis siddhis have not much to do with dreams. As spiritual progress is done at a consciouss level, not at a subconscious level. So, it is only that, in dreams, we are so relaxed, that sometimes, the mind goes unconsciussly, to the subtler planes and has some type of access(peeping) to what is strored there ....but then it all depends on some factors like sanskaras, purity, etc... Sat Sree Akal.
  9. Sister Simran345, I will try the best as possible to answer your questions. I am no authority, but just my own thoughts based on my beliefs on Gurbani. 1) Spirits by themselves hardly do anything, unless they are very disturbed. It is more the impressions we have due to the film industry. Hukum tells us to do good, Hukum never says to do bad or misbehave, but we still do what we want, though having to pay for it, so these babas can also not act accordingly as per laws of Nature, or we can say act within the limits of morality. But frankly speaking, these spirits move mostly on the astral subtle sub planes. They are just like us humans, with the very mind, and all the vikaars, only that they have no physical body. Their body is ethereal, or astral. All are gathered somewhere there in that plane, waiting to incarnate in a joonee to settle their karmas, mostly to get their trishnas satisfied, or if their karmas are extremely good, that soul goes to Swarg or Baikunth, or some heavenly paradise, and when those fruits are over, they fall down into the gross creation in any joonee with the remanant karmas, and not necessarily in the human form ..... 2) Call it a play if you want, but ultimately they are creating more karmas and adding to their already heavy load of them. 3) The line can only be drawn, by not going to those places and by Naam Bhakti, otherwise we humans are very weak. 4) Of course they can, in that lies the free will given to us, to choose what we want to do. 5) If we do good, we shall get good in return. if we do bad, we invite pain and misery for us. And this law is universal, be it whosoever, human, animal, angel, devi, devta or gods, any forms of lives at any levels of consciousness. 6) The best way, is to abandon it as soon as possible, and then repent in not doing any foolishnes again and hold on to Gurbani firmly. And holding on to Gurbani, is nothing else, but to do His Simran "aath paher" or "saas saas simroh Gobind". This is the only medicine to be taken, then all pain and misery shall flee away, and at the same time fill us, with His Power, Himself, what else do we want sister then, or what is left to be done? We should Love Him with all our heart, and loving Him or doing His devotion, means to have Him present in our chits, with His Naam Simran alone. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. Sister, let us not mix the terms deities and spirits. Spirits can be good or bad, but the deities or devtas are virtuous. They are to do good or help to the good and punish the bad. They by themselves have higher powers watching over them, they can not do anything just like that, otherwise they will have to pay for their avarice, greed or kaam... As we are nor perfect and as general rule, I would say to stay in the safe side, we must base our lives according to Gurmat, that by itself will be a Laksman rekha. which will protect us from maya, kaal, and all the possible evil. Sat Sree Akal.
  11. Dear Preeet Jee, I am sorry to disagree with your saying, that the line written by me above you find it flawing .... Our brothers Kira Jee and Sikhni777 have provided quite a few quotations and Shabads from the Bani, where the true rank of these main gods like Brahma, Vishnu or Shiva is clearly stated. I hate to discuss these issues, because it may seem to some, there is some type of ninda or disrespect to these gods .... But it is also a fact that I have to be true to myself . And one thing I will surely say, a lot of brahmanvadee is influencing us, thus we are going off track in Sikhee. Thus we are mistaking simple traffic police officers as the Royal King ...which is not correct at all. Jap Ji Sahib, clearly makes significant differences between these 3 main deities, and the only eternal Truth, One Supreme Wahiguru Akal PuruKh = IkOankar. The following line gives us a small hint of the Infinite Wahiguru The Primal One, the Pure Light, without beginning, without end. Throughout all the ages, He is One and the Same While referring to the 3 deities, it says: ਏਕਾ ਮਾਈ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਿਆਈ ਤਿਨਿ ਚੇਲੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ Eaekaa Maaee Jugath Viaaee Thin Chaelae Paravaan एका माई जुगति विआई तिनि चेले परवाणु The One Divine Mother conceived and gave birth to the three deities. *In the above line, the divine mother is referred to Maya. If one wants to know about the beginning of the creation and Wahiguru/ Satnam, I would suggest to read the fantastic book of Bhagat Kabeer Sahib, titled Anurag Sagar, which can be found online from several authors, it is just to get an idea about Satnam, Naam, Shabad, gods, maya, kaal, mind , etc . Then in the following line, their role in the mayavee creation is cleary described One, the Creator of the World; One, the Sustainer; and One, the Destroyer. Then in the following line, Guru Jee tells us, that even after giving to each of them their particular duties to perform, they have no free will by themselves, but all of them three act under His Hukum. He makes things happen according to the Pleasure of His Will. Such is His Celestial Order And still in the following line, Guru Jee clearly says, that even while having such high duties assigned by Him, the wonderful thing is, they know nothing about Him. He watches over all, but none see Him. How wonderful this is!. * This is because, their abodes are very much within the limits of maya, only Wahiguru is beyond the region of Brahm, that is why He is called also Parbrham Parmeshwar So dear all, nobody is denying their existence, but the fact is they all are just administrating the mayavee creation under His Hukum, they are in no way any substitute for Wahiguru. Swarg, Baikunth, Shivpuri, is all within maya. It would not be appropiate to say, that if I want to go to America from India, and I buy a ticket (offer devotion) which due to its cost(simran of words like Ram, Raheem, Krishna, Shiva and so on) can only take me to Afghanistan, or even then that just by buying that ticket and boarding the plane, I will reach America. No. That will never be possible The cost of the ticket going to America, is Naam or Shabad(Simran of the Gurmanter Wahiguru). The Bani says: Nanak Naam Jahaz hae, jin chareeya seh utareeya paar. Gurmat is much much higher, rather I would say the highest or the only path to the eternal Truth, Wahiguru. In Gurmat, we may do Simran of Wahiguru, just as other dharmas do of their deities, but the difference between Gurmat and other other dharmas, including brahmanvadee lies in that, their simran takes them at most to the heights of Swarg or Baikunth for example, while with the gurmanter we reach the Shabad Guru within, with whose guidance and wisdom, we then cross the region of maya or Braham, thus reach Parbraham, and then direct to Sach Khand, at the Lotus Feet of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Such is mahanta of Sikhee or Gurmat. With the simran of lesser deities or trinity gods, we at most reach their abode, but never become one with them, because they are not the ultimate Reality. While with the Gurmanter, we reach Sach Khand and merge in Him, and become Him. That is why the bani says: Jevad aap, tevad Teree Daat. To those who meditate on Him, He gives Himself to them, nothing less, such a bountiful giver is Wahiguru. I am sorry, if I have hurt anyone, but at least for me, none is comparable to our beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh. He alone, He is. Sat Sree Akal.
  12. Wise words full of truth Kira Jee. The Shabads or quotations you have provided are just fantastic. Overall, your post denotes deep reverence and a solid faith in Wahiguru, which is admirable. And such sincere attitude of devotion, makes me feel to bless(best wishes) you, so that you may achieve your goal Wahiguru, as soon as possible with His grace. Next.... I have no doubt at all, that everything is executed by His Hukum, to the extent, that, as some has beautifully said: not even a leaf of a tree can move without His Hukum. When I say, that these gods have a role to play, I mean to say, they are also under His Hukum. Nobody can dare to do anything if that is not His will. Neither have we any power or control about our lives. Do we know why we were sent in this world? Do we know since when we are in this mayavee creation? What have we done until today to not be here? So if we are nothing and have no power, what does that mean? Everything is executed perfectly by His Hukum. What control do we have over overfloods, over earth quakes, over natural disasters? T To some may seem, that if He exists, why do these things happen? Why does He not stop them? The answer to this is also, that is because it is due to His Hukum, though unlogic for our poor understanding, but still it is nothing but His hukum in motion. To blame gods and others(kaal purukh, maya, mind for instance) for anything, is ridicule, because they also act as per the roles assigned to them, with the appropiate tools, so that they may perform their jobs adecuately. Here in our world, when a boss emplyos someone, the employee can be not worthy in the long run, and turn out to be a fraud. But in Wahiguru´s case, this can never ocurr. Not because of anything else, but because He is perfect, He knows beforehand what is going to happen, He is the Supreme director, He knows at all times what is going to happen next, because He planned so right from the microscopic levels to the Macro Cosmos levels and beyond, nothing is without His consentment. The actors have no choice, in wanting to be the main hero in the film, or not wanting to play the role of a vilain, or rich or poor...and so on It is all per His will. As the Bani says, to those whom He wants to call back to Him, He makes them do the right devotion; to others He keeps them confused with maya, karam khands, gods, etc..., so they keep wandering in the creation. You see, if He wants the creation to go on running, there must be something to keep distracted the jeevas. It is not that easy to have faith in Him, or love Him. That also is by His Hukum. So whom to blame? Rather we should feel pity for all who do not know the real value of Gurmat, because after all from our level, we do understand, they too are His jeevas, and we wished they too knew wht we know today, so that they may also finish their wandering as soon as possible. There was a time, when I used to get affected, when I used to explain the simple Truths of Gurmat, and saw that even then no effect was on them, rather turn against me after that .... So I made myself understand, not that if I bring a nail and a hammer, and make a hole in the heads of the people and put Gurmat, that they will understand and accept it, becasue they are not mature enough yet to accept Gurmat, by His Hukum. So dear, who can go against His Hukum? Naturally nobody. But then too, Wahiguru´s mahima, never goes in waste. No matter if today someone does not accept the teachings, but as the seed of His mahima has gone into that being, its purity will automatically make an impression in them, which will turn out for their benefit, as good sanskaras in future lives. Sat Sree Akal.
  13. sikhni777, Nice words jee. But I would say, these deities have their powers due to the role they have to play in the creation, not that they ask for it. Just as law authorizes a policeman to catch a thief, or a judge to send someone to prison .... In a similar way, Nature has given them(these gods) such attributes in order not to display them but to run the mayavee creation to an extent. That´s it. Because as you very well say in a line below, they also ask for the alms for the Lord´s meditation and praise. Then if so is the case, then naturally it makes no sense in worshipping them, but rather according to the Bani, directly to Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Because as stated beautifully at the end of the Shabad quoted by you above, they too, if they want emancipation, they too have to come first in the human joonee, and grasp the Feet of a Gurmukh, of a Sadh Jana, who are one with Wahiguru Akal Purukh, and thus get the Amrit Naam from them. Sat Sree Akal.
  14. Well sister, what is bad luck? Or what is the worst thing which can happen to a jeev-atma? The answer naturally is: being away from our beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh. So worshipping any other than Wahiguru, is the biggest disadvantage or bad luck by itself, which one gets in doing so. Because we can become the rulers of the Trilok, or at most, reach and spend some time in Swarg or Baikunth, but never ever become one with those entities, gods, godesses, etc.. The Bani says: Ekas bin sabh dandh hae. Without the One Lord Wahiguru, everything else is false, is filth. Moreover: Bahut janam vichurey teh Madhao, ehe janam Tumare lekhey. In countless lives, we have done all sort of poojas, paths, japa, tapa, pilgrimages, bathings in so called sacred waters, etc... and the result is, we are still wandering aimlessly in the "chaurasee ka chakar", so dear Lord, this very present life I dedicate it in Your exclusive devotion. And so, what is that blessed and unique devotion which purfies us from all our trishnas, sins, sanskaras, vaasnas, and ultimately guarantees our union with Him? The Bani referring to this devotion which can be offered to Wahiguru and accepted in His Court, says: Prabh ka Simran sabh tay oochaa. Prabh ka Simran, man kee mael jaae. Prabh ka Simran garb na baseh. Within just these 3 lines above and in just few words, we can define the base and summary of Sikhee. Sikhee is not complicated at all, rather it is the most simple, tender, and direct to Wahiguru´s abode. To end, a bit more from Gurbani, as per means of the true Bhakti. The Bani clearly says: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. You see, the Bani or Gurmat is perfect from all angles, it our "durmat" or deep ignorance, which makes us interpret the Bani wrongly. That is the only reason, why we do so many other things, which we proudly think is our dharam, thus get away farther and farther from Wahiguru. And in the bargain, we foolishly loose our very lives...and who knows if we will ever get another human form, or even, when will we get it, to dedicate oureslves at His Lotus Feet. This present life is our time, this present life is our only chance, so let us take the anchor of His Naam alone, and get ferried away from this mayavee Bhavsagar, to our Nijh Ghar, Sach Khand, at His Lotus Feet. Sat Sree Akal.
  15. In Gurmat, we become aware of the Inmensity and majesty of Wahiguru. And moreover if ever we have to devote ourselves, that has to be only, and only Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Though there are many well known spiritual entities, gods, godesses, devtas, angels, which are worshipped by human beings at different places and in different dharams. But the fact is, at most one goes to their abodes for a temporary stay, then fall back into the creation. If one is bad or good by nature, worshipping these entities, will only make us get powers or boons, that is it. While on the other side, if we worship Wahiguru only, Fifth Patshahee in Raag Soohee, tells us in simple and plain words, what are the consequences in doing so : ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਸਭ ਕਾਟਹਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਖੋਵੈ Har Naam Araadhhehi Mail Sabh Kaattehi Kilavikh Sagalae Khovai हरि नामु अराधहि मैलु सभ काटहि किलविख सगले खोवै They worship the Lord's Name, and all their filth is washed away; they rid themselves of all sins. I think we need no expalnations, His lovely words are self sufficient by themselves. And if we did understand anything from it, it means, we become pure paviter, howsoever we are, and thus we merge in Him by His unlimited Daya Meher. Sat Sree Akal.
  16. Dear Gupt Jee, whether we call it holes, apertures or doors, the reality does not change. Gurmat has no mistakes, it is perfection made manifest. When it is said Dasam Dwar, what does it mean and what does that imply? Anybody who knows a bit of spirituality, knows that Dasam Dwar, is referred to the point between the 2 eyes at our forehead, it is the door or tenth door which one has to pass in, in order to enter the spiritual realms, through simran or meditation. Then the other conclusion we get also, is, now that we know what is Tenth Dwar referred to, what are the other nine portals, holes or doors? These apertures or holes are called so, because it is through them we interact with the mayavee world, or we can say through them our consciousness / attention, goes out, while with meditation or concentartion we gather or withdraw all our attention, from the world and as said above, do the necessary to enter the spiritual realms or dimensions, that´s it. So now, what are the remaining nine portals? Thy are as follows: 2 eyes, 2 ears, mouth, 2 nose nostrils, and 2 lower apertures(one anus and one urinary organ). Though the sexual organ in man and woman are different in sizes and shapes, but nevertheless, it is considered as only one portal, though it is used to either indulge in "kaam" or to pass urine, but ultimately, nothing more than that mainly. In the end, 9 + 1= 10. So these nine lower apertures, plus, the Daswan Dwar, make ten portals, where, 9 are physicall, and the tenth one, is subtle. Sat Sree Akal.
  17. When will the foolish world ever stop blaming Wahiguru for all their misfortunes? That also when they are wholly responsible for their condition. How can we be so harsh with our Sachay Patshah? We should stop taking Wahiguru, as the genie of Aladino´s Lamp, for things like fulfilling one´s desires, or acting as Superman in times of distress at our calls... Of course Wahiguru is "sarvavyapak" = omnipresent and "shakti shalee" = omnipotent, and omniscient; but if in good times we do not remeber Him or try to establish a consciouss relation with Him, how can we have the cheek to call Him in our so called bad times. Usually, we treat Him like the genie mentioned above, we just rub the lamp when we need Him the most, then we let Him stay inside and make Him wait, until we really need Him again. Shameless people ... He is our True Father and Mother, we should daily dedicate time to Love Him without any excuse or fail, through His Simran. "Sukh main Simran jho kare, toh dukh kaaeko hoe" Sat Sree Akal.
  18. Naam japna is called true bhakti, not because of anything else, but becuase is the only jugtee which makes us one with Naam, the spiritual form of Wahiguru. Dhan Dhan Satgur Sachay Patshah Sree Guru Ram Das Maharaj, clearly points out for us the supreme importance of Naam Japna as means of true bhakti, in His pure Bani of Raag Bilaval. Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and through the Naam, find emancipation. The Simritees and Shaastras recommend the Naam (As seen above,It is only, and only by His Naam Japna, by which we can merge in Him, and not by any other means, howsoever dharmic or religious it may seem to us. Gurmat is important, not our own mental fantasies) . Sat Sree Akal.
  19. Naam Japna has no counter reactions, but only positive results. And this Naam japna can be done in 2 ways. One is by repeating it with the mouth, which is a good start. We get imbued with faith and love for Wahiguru. This can be done for as much time as one can. It may last some minutes or hours, it all depends on one´s mental and spiritual conditions. Then the second one is by sitting on a chair or any place which we may find comfortable, and is done by keeping the back straight and with the eyes closed, and then repeat Wahiguru for example. It should be done with full attention or concentration. At first thoughts may disturb us, as they flow with full force and may not allow us to concentrate, but nevertheless we should not give up and continue, like a soldier fighting with enemy, ultimately the enemy will be knocked out, but the thing is to stick with faith, love and devotion. Like a child learning to walk, may fall several times before he can walk and run one day, but the secret is not giving up. Even our life may pass away with apparent no results, it does not matter, with His grace, we shall continue with His bhakti in our next lives in better circumstances. No Simran ever goes in waste, rather it is the true spiritual "dhan" wealth which we shall carry with us. The again with His grace, when we insist in this jugtee, in due time, a spiritual revealation or awareness will take within us. Just as Third Patshahee tells us in Anand Sahib: Naam jiske man vaseeya, vaajeh Shabad ganere. If the Naam japna, is willingly and strongly implemented in our minds, then, we may be sure we shall defeat the mind and the vaasnas or vanquish the 5 vikaars, and drink within us, the Amrit of Naam which is continously flowing within us nonstop the 24 hours. With this, all our karmas, whether of past, present or future shall be burnt away as a huge stock of dry grass with a single spark. Further on, by this very japna, we shall board the Jahaz of Naam and reach our Nijh Ghar, for which, Guru Sahiban says: Nanak Naam Jahaz hae, jin chareeya se utareeya paar. This is sikhee or Gurmat in simple lines. I am not discovering anything new, but just highlighting the essence of Gurmat, and sharing with all my Gursikh brothers and sisters, and trying to inspire all to find the Spiritual Gems or true wealth in Gurbani, and make yourself truly rich, with full love and devotion for His Lotus Feet. May God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  20. Brother, in my opinion, it is because most of our community is busy in setting and following rules and trying to establish some type of politics; rather than read /listen understand and follow Gurbani. This means, we are more worried of the worldly aspects, than the spiritual aspects of Gurmat, thus it reflects in our daily living beings. Mind and maya are very strong, they just wait for us to make ourselves weaker by not following Gurmat implicitly, then they bounce upon us, just like lions and jackals would mercilessly attack deers for example ... And what are their these attacks ? First of all agyanta, then being robbed by the 5 vikaars. If we had taken shelter in Gurmat, that would have been in our favour and protection, just as the Lakshman rekha with Sita. Then forget mind or maya but even Kal Purukh would not dare come near that sikh. That is the mahima of Wahiguru and His Naam. Sat Sree Akal.
  21. Dear _Raj k_ , first of all, how do you exactly know Wahiguru is testing you? Believe it, if He started testing us, nobody of us will feel comfortable. He already knows, how weak we are, how much moorakhs or mugadhs we are. In eyes of the world, we may appear clever of awaken, but spiritually we are blind, and if such is our state, can any normal person with a bit of common sense test a blind one? It is His inmense love for us, which makes Him overlook our faults, and is eveready to forgive us, if only we turn our faces to Him. So what is that turning our faces towards Him? It is nothing else, but to love Him from the bottom of our hearts, and fully engaging ourselves in that activity which makes us go nearer and nearer to Him, which as repeated many times, is His Naam Simran alone, nothing more. If we take a step towards Him by doing His chintan, He takes a hundred steps towards us. He is much more eager to reunite us with Him as a lovely Father, than what we can ever imagine, cause we think we love Him, when the fact is, it is His pull from within, which makes us nearer to Him. For if it depended on us all by ourselves, we would not even think about Him. Such shameless people are we.... I just have a pledge for you and all, howsoever life maybe difficult, or the situations be absolutely adverse for us due to our very own karmas, even then we should not let go the only anchor we have, and that is Him. To ill speak of Him, and make Him responsible for our own demerits, is the biggest foolishness and crime we can ever commit, and thus strongly enchain ourselves in the " Chaurasee ka chakar". For as the Bani says: Toon mere pran ke adhaar. Just as oxygene can never be bad for us, for our lives depend on its inhalation, in a similar way, Wahiguru is the base of that oxygene we inhale, so how can we even think of blaming Him? He, Wahiguru, is so adorable, that He is worthy only to be loved. more and more, that´s it. Sat Sree Akal.
  22. Pen Jee, I am so sorry to know about your past painful state and about the other case on this thread also. You have all my moral support, may God bless you. These things just boil my blood, I would just like to get hold of them and thrash them, and give them that much pain, that they would beg for death rather... How can these demons play with someone´s sentiments and have the cheek to live? They need to get a severe answer for their unhuman acts, so that next time if anyone dares to behave like that, he will have to think 100 times before... Sat Sree Akal.
  23. What others believe or not, I am not much concerned. But that much I will surely say, I believe, our Guru Sahibans are the embodiment of Naam or Shabad, in short, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. To perform miracles or displaying powers, is generally going against the Laws of Nature, and Guru Sahibans, or Gurmukhs can not ever go against the very laws, which are His Hukum, by which the whole of the creation is running at all levels. They (Saints, Gurmukhs) are not corrupted or greedy like we the rest of beings, in order to manipulate things to their favour/ tastes. They live by the philosophy : Tera Bhaana meetha laage. Which means, Saas saas simroh Gobind, and I am happy at all times by abiding in your will. Sat Sree Akal.
  24. Ridhhi Siddhis are powers which one gets, either by present birth kamaee in meditation, or from past births kamaee with a little effort to be put in this very one. They usually come and meet those who do bhakti of gods, as they themselves are the reservoir of them. But they do not even dare to come near, those who have Wahiguru as their main aim only. For example, Ravan did so much bhakti of Brahma and Shiva, he got so much powers that he became the ruler of the three worlds, but he could not control his mind or vaasnas, though he remained wicked and ultimately died like a dog on the street .... Usually seen, when one does bhakti of any other entity except Wahiguru, when they are satisfied with your devotion, they appear and the first thing they tell you is: I am satisfied with your bhakti, ask for whatever you want.... On the contrary, Wahiguru´s Naam is so pure and paviter, that forget having His darshan, but just by repeating it, no matter how sinner you are, it will unfold itself in us, and remove all the filth accumulated on us since we stepped into this mayaee creation, and make us as pure as Himself with His grace, and finally, allow us to merge in Him. Sangat Jee, is there anything in the whole triloki creation compared to the beant wadeeayee of our beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh? Wah wah, dhan dhan, Wahiguru Akal Purukh Sachay Patshah. Sat Sree Akal.
