1. it says in bhai nand lal jis rehitnama that guru gobind singh ji said anyone whoi wears red is a tankhiya
2. no, but its an important step guru gobind singh ji said bilae kes chafe ast jumalae nisan meaning The fifth is Kesh, without which the other four are useless SO if you wear a kara and still cut your hair, your just wasting your time, your better off wearing a watch or something on that arm than a braclet. Without Hair you have no physical look of a sikh.
3. its missing a couple sections, but still, its better than nothing
4. Someone thing to think about"Rehat pyaari mujh ko sikh pyara nahe" "REhni Rahe soi sikh mera, oh sahib, mein uska chera" "nisani SIKH ki panj harf asat" .....not nisani khalsa ki...... 89191 I have read them before, but tthanks for posting them again. Those are the words of Bhai Desa Singh ji, not of any Gurus. Unless you believe that Bhai Desa Singh ji is equal to the 10th Guru. Then to you it is 100% accurate. 89224
5. great post JSS, now that people understand you should look at wiser people for advice, and even though you may not understand it them, these rules in sikhi were put in place for a reason, I want to ask a question, even if it is off topic. If moani shouldnt be allowed to do anand karaj based on JSS's points that they are doing it laavan without any intention of following it, than what is the difference between this and keertan? WHen you do keertan there is almost always atleast one tuk about committment to guru ji in every shabad, if a mona isnt even willing to keep their hair and atleast show some physical committment, should they than be allowed to do kirtan? WHy should someone who made no commitment to guru ji, be leading sangat in a shabad about commitment? How is this any different than anand karaj. Some may say doing keertan will bring the person closer to sikhi, but in the same you i guess someone could argue that doing anand karaj and listneing to that bani will bring u closer to sikhi. So if you are willing to accept that monai + anad karaj = no sense, how can you also not accept that monai + keertan = no sense?
6. Someone thing to think about"Rehat pyaari mujh ko sikh pyara nahe" "REhni Rahe soi sikh mera, oh sahib, mein uska chera" "nisani SIKH ki panj harf asat" .....not nisani khalsa ki......
7. in the same way i can prove that only sikhs did anand karaj in purataan times, you cant prove that non-sikhs did anand karaj in purataan times. So that arguement is not valid. Look at 99% of "sikh" marriages, no one pays attention to anand karaj, except close family and relatives. The groom grows a trimmed beard, which is shaven off right after the anand karaj "ceremony" and the bride and groom do parkarma of guru sahib 4 times, without knowing the meaning. How can you say this is not a ritual? Ma bye banning non-sikhs from anand karaj isnt the right step to take, but something has to be done to change how marriages are done in gurdwaras. Atleast the CGPC (whoever they are) are trying to do something, atleast their motvie is right. We just sit on the computer and complain on forums and blogs, atleast these people are doing something
8. Actually sikhs at that time were amritdhari, they didnt take khande battay di amrit but they did take charan di amrit. Even if you say sehajdhari sikhs are still sikhs, what is a sehajdhari sikh? im pretty sure a sehajdhari sikh is someone who keeps their hair ansd follows other basic tenets of sikhi. so, why would someone thats not a sikh want a sikh wedding? YOu guys are acting like anand karaj is just a ritual, that you do parkarma of guru sahib 4 times, when in fact its a lot deeper than that.
9. wickkkedd decision why would someone that is not a sikh want a sikhi wedding? and wat is the use of a non sikkh gettinga sikhi marriage. Guru Gobind Singh Ji tells us, nisani sikhi ki panj harf asat. Meaning the symbol of a sikhi is one who wears his 5 kakkars. Notice it doesnt say, nisani KHALSA ki, but nisani SIKHI ki. Over the years people have becoming way too relaxed on the definition oif a sikh. Before someone gets a sikhi wedding, should they not first beome a sikh?
10. everyone should read bachitar nataak, the whole thing, not just the ab mein apni katha bakhano. After reading it I came to the conclusion that YOu can be Muslim, or Hindu and still achieve mukti, but sikhi is still the best and simplest path. It doesnt matter what religion you are, you can still do simran, so you can still achieve mukti. Bijla SIngh said "My Guru is above all. My Guru says without True Naam, one cannot be liberated and True Naam can only be obtained from the true Guru. true Guru is Guru Granth Sahib Ji." You said true guru is guru granth sahib, which is 100% correct. But does vaheguru/Raam/Allah/God not have the same jot as Guru Granth Sahib. THe bani is guru granth sahib is the same jot as akal purakh, so if a hindu or muslim starts doing simran on raam or allah they can still achieve "gurprasad" from Allah/Raam/Vaqheguru, and still achieve mukti. In guru gobind singh ji's previous life, they werent a "sikh" although they still practiced the principles of sikhi and worshipped MahaKaal, or the supreme death (just another name for Vaheguru. and they still achieved mukti, Guru Gobind Singh ji even explains it in Ab Mein Apni Katha Bakhano how their soul and Vaheguru became just one jot during the time they did tapasiya in the himalayas. And you cant even say that these days Muslims and Hindus dont do simran at amritvela, and only sikhs do. I personally know a bunch of ismaili Muslims in brampton that do amritvela everyday, how many of us "sikhs" do this? Sooooooooo, i guess, you can call yourself a sikh, and still keep your rehit and say "this is the best religion in the world" without doing any simran, but if a "Muslim" goes and does simran on allah everyday at amritvela, than who really has a true religion? Rehit maryada is here to protect you from the 5 vikaars and help you concentrate better in your simran, not to give you mukti, mukti is only achieved through constant remembrance. SO what is the point of arguing what a true religion is or not, if any religion can give you mukti if you do simran?
11. Does anyone know what muktee nama is?????
12. which files should i get to learn about different dharms? i have listened to a bunch of them, but i havent come across this one yet? and yeahh, his dasam bani ones, especially the ones about ab mein apni katha bakhano are amazing, and does clear a lot of misconceptions about meanings
13. anyone know how to stream a live broadcast and save it on your computer?
14. you two are hilarious neither of you know for 100% sure if he has done anything wrong or not, so just stop talking about it.
15. shaheed guru nanak dev ji also said that line before sant jarnail singh ji said it
16. the 4 bujjar kureihts are 1) eating halal meat 2) Adultery/premarital sex 3) CUtting Hair 4) consuming tabacco These 4 sins are how amrit is broken, if they are comitted amrit must be re taken
17. what is the big deal if dfferent ppl have different opinions on jatha? THe problem isnt having different opinions, the problem is when people are classified and stereotyped as members of a particular jatha/sampardama. A thread made on this topic will just increase the amount of stereotyping that already happens. Even if a thread is made talking about different jatha, not everyone will agree on what is said, as a lot of history is open to interpretation, for example, just compare akaal108 and jagjit_waheguru's posts. For a post made by a moderator/admin or jatha and their beliefs and history, who will moderate the moderator? Everyone already has their own bias, and not everyone that is educated about the different jathai will agree on it. For example, DDT, if you write a thread about DDT, some people will say that it was started by Guru Gobind SIngh Ji, others will say Sant SUndar SIngh Ji started it. How will everybody be happy about the info being put out by this thread? Any way you put it, it wont work. If you want to learn about different jathai, do your own research, ask people that are part of the jathai, ask people about a jathai they dont belong to, compare different peoples views, do your own research, adnd than if u must, decide on something urself. But dont cause even more rukus than there already is
