  5. There are a number of times when Demi Gods have been mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib Ji. But what are Demi-Gods???
  6. In katha I heard that fristly your forhead should touch the floor out of respect. Also that your palms should be facing down as Guru Ji could then change your kismit by changing the lines on both your forehead and palms. But I agree that an individual should not worry about any formailities and matha tekh out of pure devotion to Guru Ji.
  7. When my grandfather was alive and he used to go the Gurdwara and to the Langar he used to sit down and eat. To look at he looked perfectly fit and as though nothing was wrong with him, however as he had a number of problems he found it hard to stand and eat langar and difficult to sit on the floor as there was nothing for him to lean against. So without knowing an individuals situation it is difficult for us to say whether they are taking advantage of the facilities. It is the Gurdwara's job to provide, and if individuals do take advantage thats for them to answer to not for us to take away all the facilities. I just thought I'd also mention that this ain't meant to be a personal attack to anyone who has responded in the post.
  8. I'm not sure what would be the right thing to do in regards of marayda. But if I was in such a position I think the best thing would be to write of two pieces of paper yes and no, then to do an Ardas asking Guru Sahib to give you guidance as to what to do and select one of the papers and take whatever it says as Guru Ji's hukam.
  9. I ain't too sure, but I think its like a kurta kamaze which comes up to your knees and is mostly blue. I think its mainly Nihang Singhs who wear it, but I don't know for sure.
  10. everything is justified in love towards him... ! 94996[/snapback] Surely if someone loves Guru Ji that much should they not obey what Guru Ji said, and that is Sikhs should not get tatoos done full stop. Individuals getting tatoos done to get closer to God in my opinion is manmaat, when Guru Ji has clearly forbidden us from doing such actions.
  11. Forgive me if I'm wrong but in regards to your first point is that not one of the reasons why we wear a kara. And surely having paat on your hands and other parts of your body will be subjected to beeadbi.
  12. Don't get me wrong I'm all for having such beautiful gurdwaras being built. But shouldn't some of the money be used to help educate the sikh youth. After all it is the responsiblity of the Gurdwara comitee to make effective use of the money. The Gurdwara in southall looks beautiful from the outside and indeed the inside but its always dissapointing to see that theres only a few people inside the gurdwara and little if any youngsters.
