  1. Hey, I'm not poking fun at you but you know it's a little cheeky to ask. Anway, i know the cost at heathrow is absolutely stupid,I paid somthing like £160 quid for 2 weeks some years back. Thankfully, I don't live there any longer and am now in Vancouver. However, I did use to park my car on the great west road in Osterley by the tube station. Then I would get the tube in to central when I was shopping or visiting. On the grt west road, it was free and you would be parked in a space on sidewalk in front of the houses,, not sure if they have permits introduced now but you could check. Another hint would be to check how much car hire is with the popular airport names like hertz and euopecar etc... Because a few times I found that it was much cheaper and easier to get the one way car hire to the terminal and then pick another car on the return journey. I used to travel from the Midlands, so I suppose it may vary where you come from- Worth a check though
  2. That was an intentional joke, I'm glad you found it funny. Remember the committee pardaans or heads, won't just allow any gora or passerby to park but only true sikhs or what they say are true sikhs!!! They make the rules and I can't say if you or me will qualify!!!
  3. How much you willing to pay ? Or are you on here looking for a freebie ? If you are a true sikh, then they will let you park at the gurdwara !!!
  4. It doesn't matter if the hand is facing palm up or down, but if one works better then let me know !
  5. Theres's a very good and effective trick to tackle that. The next time it happens you should just sit on one hand for a about 20 seconds, any hand it doesn't matter. Within that time of about 15-20 seconds it should competely vanish.
  6. SheikFareed ji, you've got the right idea there. It is more of a relaxed neck !! You probably thinking it is already relaxed because you're not putting any effort in keeping it upright. Well, that's because we have become conditioned to keeping it up without realising. All the muscles are engaged in the neck when upright so as to keep it balanced. After someone breaks their neck, then it just rolls down and they have to retrain other muscles to keep it upright- we are lucky because we do it with out any forced effort. Just think of when a baby is growing in the first 4-6 months, it can't control it's neck at all. Even when seated upright the neck drops, but slowly it conditions to keeping it straight without effort. -You see, quite easy. Now, when doing simran and in samadhi fo example, the person is much more attuned into the consciousness and then the brain and mind attachment gets weaker. At these stages then the involuntary automatic muscles begin to switch off and your neck droops or reclines. In simran the battle is on with the mind, brain and consciousness. The consciuosness tries to free itself and detach whilst the mind will keep pumping thoughts and signals to the brain to get a reaction by trying to distract. However, if you can train yourself to NOT respond to the thoughts or signals and simply ignore them, then the brain activity starts to diminish and the conscious gets more detached from the brain and mind whilst you get into deeper simran and samadhi. This is all with the grace of the guru that it happens, although people try to look at it scientifically. The ability to do it can not be obtained scientifically, it's ALL his doing.
  7. It's perfectly fine !! Youv'e all seen Jurassic park, what better park to have better than disneyland ?
  8. Our cells inside us are NOT single cell organisms like some protozoaand viruses etc.. Therfore they may have a soul but the cells in your body don't have their own independent souls. The argument of abortion is not about souls or conscious. It is simply about creation. A created creation is inside the body that gets aborted- that's the issue !!
  9. Our cells don't have souls !! Our cells don't survive on their own, they help to make up us. There is our mind and our consciousness which come together once we are born and start breathing.
  10. Yes I know, but that is good realistic advice. We should never stop anyone seeing a health professional, but if you know what the protocols are (as I do, since I used to work in UK), then you know what the 3 month wait for an appointment will result in.- In that time he could use the alternative approach and get some results. Your advice is the best suggestion by far, and I can vouch for that. I explained about whta they say about facial hair and when they say it.
  11. The facial hair claimed by the dermatologist is only an issue, because this is what they start saying when youv'e tried the meds. Then they look at other simple options, so he will say to one's with beards to shave, or to ones with shaving rash acne to NOT shave every day and just shave once a week !!! So- this facial hair thing is a point, but a lot of crap. If you wash the hair with soap more than once daily then it can't be a problem. I wouldn't go in that direction, he's only saying that because he's run out of NHS options !!!!
  12. Singh559's advice is the best on here. I know that the margo soap is available here in North America although it is imported from India. It should be available in UK from some indian shop. Neem oil is very good, it has antibacterial, antifungal, bacteristatic, bactericidal properties much better that tea tree oil which is also good. If you can't get the margo soap there, then I would ask for neem soap which will be available from an indian herbalist also. There are two types of margo soap, one has moisturiser and one is without- I would go for the one without and then use a simple moisturiser if needed. You should also get a a small tea tree oil stick, this is concentrated 100% tea tree oil, that you just dab on once a day to any existing spots, and it naturally gets rid of them and stops more frowing next to it I know Simran 345 is arguing that you should see the dermatoligist and Singh559 advises against- They are BOTH correct and have a point. However, I know that you've had the strongest ultimate that the dermataologist can prescribe and that is the the lethal roaccutane capsules. Remember, the dermatoligist has guidelines and a criteria of what they can give. They start with things at the bottom and work there way up the ladder. From experience in the field, I know that he will just suggest you do another course of the lethal capsules. This is how the health professionals operate in UK. As well as using neem soap and tea tree to dab, i suggest LOTS of water to flush out all the toxins from your body. Avoid as much processed food as possible, this means all canned food, meats, macdonalds crap, fizzy drinks, canned drinks. Try and get as much fresh as possible like fresh juices (make your own!), fresh fruit, veg etc... You will notice within a few wekks just with diet alone.
  13. Yes,whenever you feel it suitable to be able to absorb it and to get immersed in the message. For me, I can normally only do this learning with passion once the kids are asleep and that's in the evenings.
  14. Look at the other post mentioned above and you should work it out :nono: :giggle:
  15. You the same troll that did the suicide post with name of _me_, Why haven't you killed yourself yet ???? Or are you the reincarnated troll that has come back a little richer ? :lol2: :stupidme: :excited:

    Jesus

So jews are sikhs then ! that's pretty cool :respect: :excited: :respect:
  17. We can't start blaming each other. As far as I see it, the jaat paat won't go on after a few generations, especially with us guys in the west. The kids of tomorrow are not going to care who's grandpa wasa farmer, lohar or kumar. The great grandkids of papa chamaar will be proud to wear leather Nikes and Adidas. At the end of the day, it was the Jatts that contributed to the biggest shaheedian. The funny thing about the Jatts is that they will preach and say that ''jaat paat nahin chahidee'- it's wrong and ghalath. Then later they will say to each other ''mein Jatt da putha'' - anyone mess with me, I will show them what this jatt does...etc... Hey, most of the fun we have in punjabi is infused by the same jatts. I will be honest, I don't agree with jaat and caste and mixing it in with sikhi, But at the end of the day- when the Jatt song starts playing, I have to be there doing my bit of desi bhangra. Nothing makes a jatt more proud of dancing with regards to his own trade of khethi and farming. Unlike brahmins...etc.. Jatt don't go around saying they are the best or they are better, but they are simply proud of their contribution to agriculture and love to celebrate their hard work and earnings with the rest of the world.!!! Saying that, all punjabis whatever caste are pretty harmless and not too offensive for any reason. Long live the punjabis

    Jesus

What beliefs about Jesus or sikhism ? Just remember Jesus was a jew, lots of people forget that.
  19. Hey, don't worry everyone keeps saying. Life is like that. It's ALL an illusion anyway, why don't you get more involved in the gurbani and then things will start seeming better. It doesn't matter what I say, but if your thinking really hard about suicide and posting on here, then you are obviously looking for sympathy and help from someone. I am a bigger loser than you, but I wouldn't go around telling everyone if I was gonna commit suicide. It would just be done with. Just think on the bright side, you feel you have nothing, nothing to live for. Well that is better than someone who has once had everything and then lost it all. So at least your not a loser !!!
  20. That's good and it's fine to do that. To get the message of the shabads can be difficult. You can read and then try and understand what it means which is what most people do. However, once you get the meaning and look at it or go into it again, it gets even deeper with a deeper message. This message has to be thought about carefully so that you can understand what the Guruji is really trying to tell you. Most people don't go into it that deep and understand it more superficially. The indepth analysis can be quite difficult because you can come out with so many different messages although the actual concept of the shabad wil still be the same. For example, I have done some ashtpadhi translations of sukhmani, and that is the 8 lines of the shabad. I would do this firstly by a word for word translation, not using the Guru granth translations we already have but using them as reference points. Then you can look at the teekas of Prof Sahib Singhji and Fareedkot teeka on srigranth.org,( I have also self taught myself gurmukhi as punjabi is not my 1st language being a 3rd generation westerner) Then finally you can put it all together and try and get the personal message that comes to you.- This process would take 2 hours easily just for a single 8 line ashtpadhi, bearing in mind I used my own translations. This way you also find out just how difficult it is to translate and also how easily the available translations can be misinterpreted. When you actually ''feel'' the message in the words, that's when you know that is what the Guru is trying to tell s. Sometimes if too much or too little emphasis is given to just a few single words in a line, then it can distort the whole message very easily. This is where we have to take great care. Waheguru
  21. OnlyFiveji, If you go back and reread the post and comments like I have done, you should realise that I am not pointing fingers at anyone. I simply gave my opinion about the impressions that some amritdharies make pretty obvious. Instead, you go jumping the gun and firing away at full speed on the defensive. In all honesty, it's not a nice impression that you give, especially when you are trying to represent the amritdharies. Me personally, I am the lowest of the low, so I wouldn't even dream of trying to defend any non-amritdhari. But in my experience, I have had more hope and been shown more inspiration from some non-amritdharies that I have come across compared to the amritdharis. Sadly, you may have not come across such people, but that's how it has been for me. I am walking the same path as you, however I am not at the stage to take amrit as yet. I have a lot more to attain and dress within myself before I start dressing my outer self. Saying this every single day I feel a step closer to be personally eligible for amrit. Every day, I think that Today I am more closer than Yesterday and that I also have more love today for the lord than I did yesterday. With this in mind, I have started to participate with the sangat on here to get even more reassurance and love for our Waheguru. However, your negative comments and unwelcoming has thrown my hopes and goals back by many days. For someone who is looking for more inspiration and love towards amrit like me and then to encounter your stance on this subject is NOT at all welcoming or helpful to the sikh panth in any regard. So before you go and frighten someone else or make them feel not worthy as your good self, I urge you to think deep and hard with what you exactly say and what you intend to teach. As I said earlier, what I stated were my personal opinions (no reason to provide backup or references here) and these opinions are subjective. ie.. come with actual encountered experiences. These opinions, I still hold strongly, and with your dialogue, I have actually come to hold them stronger. Waheguru
  22. That's exactly what i'm saying !!! It makes it all worthwhile to earn towards the amrit in this manner. That is how I vew it, rather than enforcing on to your younger kids and they later grow up with less regard for it.
  23. Whatever you feel more comfortable with. Listening via headphones is useful if physicaly involved in other tasks, such as walking outside, in the gym..etc.. Personally, I find that just using something to connect throughout the day helps one get an anand. This could be doing nitnem in yout own comfortable space at home, then maybe doing 'waheguru' gurmantar jap for simran/ meditation or even whilst in the kitchen. Then wherever you may have access to CD or electrical music device then you can listen to kirtan or paath. Eventually, you begin to feel that the day is just not long enough to fully immerse yourself to content in the name of the lord.
  24. Thank you ji. I find all your posts very encouraging and inspiring. Your stance is always very neutral and to the point, unlike dear 'only 5-ji' above who has anger issues! This is the beauty of sikhism. It doesn't dictate and instruct you to blind followings or blind rituals, but it simply lets you decide what really matters. Ek onkaar and the simple truth is what the Guru Granth Sahib ji starts with and continues throughout to give us the trueer meanings and understandings of this simple yet very deep concept at the beginning of Japji sahib.
  25. You my friend are slandering for no reason. I mad a few honest points here. Tell me exactly in what words I have slandered amritdharies. The right people have no cause or fault, however it is the extreme lost ones that give them all a different colour. Think about exactly what you are saying, do you really think that Guru Gobind Singh Ji had this kind of a future sikh in mind ??? Stay calm, do some naam simran and better yourself with the Guru's grace.
