  1. haha i don't think there's such a thing as a dodra singh... we are all singhs of guru gobind singh ji... anyone coming to samagam is welcome to do kirtan... our only request is that you let one of the sevadaars know that you can do kirtan seva and they will do their best to make sure everyone who would like to do kirtan gets time... when talking to sevadaars, it would be helpful if you let them know whether or not you can do jaap sahib on vaja, asa di //, simran, or would like to do a shabad...this would help in alloting the sevas...

  3. beautiful post by namastang hope EVERYONE reads it and re reads it until it SINKS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. an honest answer would be NO...it is NOT against sikhism to tie your beard..well at least not the PANTH's maryada... that is the AKal Takt maryada...it doesn't mention any prohibition on tieing your beard.. i believe that when we answer these rehit questions...we should answer as per the akal takt maryada...not our own group's maryada... this is not a dig at the damdami taksaal...in fact...the marayda i follow is pretty much the taksali maryada..but still if the PANTH as a WHOLE has not said that tieing is wrong..then we should offer the opinion of our groups but not cite them as representative of all sikhism... hope i didn't offend anyone
  5. straight up.. i can see sikhi blooming under this leadership...yeah RIGHT!!!!!!!!! i think they all need to be thrown in a cauldron and burned alive just like the masands... and all those people who make dumb statments about PM manmohan singh...i don't agree with his decisions...but at least he doesn't play the SIKH card...he uses his WORK as justification...he doesn't go around claiming to be panthic... if anyting...all these babbar shers should catch Badal and make an example out of him....and while at it..teach the daughter killer a lesson or two..then go for the outside people...don't they know that a smart man always cleans his own backyard up first.
  6. man.. i couldn't go to paintballing cuz i was at ikea all day loooking for furniture.... but i was fortunate enough to get to attend the kirtan darbar ...which AHEM...was supposed to start at 6:30!! haha so i got there around 7pm and the veerjis at the gurdwara were just bringing in guru ji for parkash...there only about 5 people in the hall...some bhens who i must say did a love loving seva in the darbar with a lot of sharda..another veerji and myself...we were fortunate enough to get to listen to hukamnamma...the shabad that came was "jeh jeh pekho teh hazoor, dhoor kathu na jaaieee"...you guys can search STTM for the rest of it...such a beautiful shabad... then two bhens did rehras sahib...it was awesome listening to rehras sahib.. then the kirtan started...by this time..thte paintballing veerjis started showing up... kirtan was awesome...every shabad was so beautiful...sang with such sharda...i remember thinking how each shabad that i heard was revolving around the theme of getting darshan..doing ardas for darshan...and i truly believe that that is what was in the hearts of all my veers and bhens... i had to leave at 10pm...so couldn't stay for the whole session...but i remember when i was leaving i so didn't want to leave...when i left the darbar...one veer had started the shabad...sahib nitaniyaan da taan hai...wow...dhan guru nanak...waheguru waheguru all in all..i was glad i made the hour drive to dixie gurdwara...we have to do this again...there weren't many people there at all..but all those who were fortunate to come were very focused and guru ji blessed them all with lahaa... i loved seeing all of the youth doing all this seva with soo much love and cooperation...my only ardas to guru ji is that this love and cooperation and respect remain in the hearts of our youth as we all get older...and hope this trend continues and spreads all over the sikh panth and eventually the whole jagat...
  7. yeah that was a good post...i don't think he even got a proper response ps...i don't consider any of this nindiya...as i KNOW the tapoban admins read this website also...this is just one outlet for us to let them know what a bad job they are doing ..and hopefully they'll do the right thing and institute some changes in their policies
  8. hahaha... my ID is probably the most hated iD on that site.... oh welll... god bless them... god bless us all the one thing i don't understand though is this.. they make fun of Sants...and they say how sant can't be used for any one person... but then the admin will post a story of Sant Jawala singh ji...and all of a sudden it's okay for him to be called a sant becasue Bhai Sahib ji called him a sant...hmm... then they talk about how sant-followers will only follow waht their sant says... but EVERY single point they try to defend..they'll start with "bhai Sahib said....." isn't that the same thinig???? just cuz you call him bhai sahib and not sant..? and then they have a whole thread on "not matha teking to sants"...but the admin's post a story of someone matha teking to bhai randhir singh ji...when i question it...they first don't allow the post on...but i'm a stubborn guy too..so i post again..and then they respond saying ...oh it's different...it's just touching their head to his knees..and then oh ..it's just a figure of speech... note..this is no dig at bhai sahib randhir singh ji...i got nothing but respect for that gurmukh piyaraay...and would bow down to him at any time..
  9. i thought i should weigh in with my experiences... tapoban jatha...rehit wise..i'm sure they keep a really strict rehit ...and i congratulate them for that..even if i beleive some of the rehit they keep is not needed... now..as for the tapoban admins...EXTREMELY BIAS!!!!!! they have deleted more of my posts and not let most of my posts up simply becasue i represent a view that is different from theres... they allow bashing of ANY SANT...doesn't matter fake or real... but if someone questions anyting about "purataan" (waht a illogical word to use for a jatha that's been around for just 60 years or so) jatha singhs...the moderation goes through the roof
  10. k i'm gonna end this gayness right now... since i know all three of these losers who claim that they invented "prove it".. i can shed some light on the issue... FIRST of all..jas...shut up!!!...you didn't make up jack!!!!! nor jill for that matter!!!! hmmm...b/w heera and japman...that's a tough call...cuz they both been saying that for years...but i'm pretty sure it was japman....
  11. i'm surprised baba ji wouldn't have his own entourage and a nice white benz...
  12. quiet you khalsa,, you know you long to read our crazy bantering!
  13. hahaha is that heera's picture in the poster??!!!...maaad jokes
  14. tell her to have her people contact your people when you're both at a point in your life to get married...
  15. nice post gurpreet singh... hopefully the racists here will catch on
  16. gupt dasaan das i take issue with your statement "to commit a bujjar kurehit even is your life depends on it it..." is it not true that guru gobind singh ji ate meat when he was being taken as uch da pir?? is it not also true that it was in fact halal meat??? you can read about this in Suraj Parkash granth as well as in bhai vir singh ji's kalgidhar chamatkar... and before you try to say that its not a true sakhi...i'd check with taksaal..cuz taksaal does santhiya of gurbani and also teaches sikh history from Suraj parkash...so i'm sure they'll tell you that it's true... of course eating meat is a kurehit...but i've always heard in a life and death situaion...you can eat it... did the singhs not start eating their own flesh at one point when beseiged in anandpur sahib?...does that not count as eating meat? - actually..i don't have reference for this one, but it's what i've been told...i will look for further references of this..cuz i find it annoying when other people post stories without telling where they got it from..and i'm guessin it annoys other people too..so i'll look further into this one..
  17. gurpreet singh... for any discussion to be effective and have some proper outcome REQUIRES us to read others thoughts, do vichar on them...not just stick to our points of view without making some logical points...or at least responding to others' points...it does not require a SCHOLAR to do that! it doesn't make much sense in starting threads and taking part in threads if you're not ready for a discussion...
  18. giayni takhur singh in his sukhmani sahib katha used to say that a true gursikh would never do nindiya of another gursikh.... lets take a look at Purathansher Singh's Fauj's comments about our fellow gursikhs from the white race...he didn't mention individuals, instead made a blanket statment i know several of these gursikhs who keep strict rehit that would make all of us look like crap...yet...this internet fauji thinks they aren't good enough to be singhs....talks about the warrior blood not in them...talks about them not being proper sikhs... hmmm... seems like nindiya to me...no? i should be careful...in not saying too much....he might get the internet fauj after me...
  19. gurpreet, your analogy isn't logically consistent... for any analogy to work...it has to be similar enough that we can draw similar conclusions... the mugal analogy to the defib situation is tototally devoid of logic...for ONE reason.. during the mugal times..the singh would be CONSCIOUS...he would be able to to THINK, SPEAK, ACT for himself.. somone needing a defib...is NOT CONSCIOUS... CANNOT think, CANNOT speak, CANNOT act... therefore, if he has his hair shaved for the purpose of using the machine...there is no harm done...all he has to do is appear in front of panj piyaraay also talked to a singh who does seva in panj during amrit sanchars... he said that removing hair for surgeries or similar health related circumstances is allowed in extreme circumstances , but the person still has to appear in front of panj piyaraay and explain the situation and then follow the hukam of the panj.. he said the difference b/w health and mugal times...is that THREAT... and the attack on Identity... someone facing a doctor wanting to shave an area for surgery isn't facing someone who wants to shave the hair to take the person's identity away..the doctor isn't trying to make you a patit...the doctor isn't wanting to attack the core principles of sikhi...he is only doing what he knows how to help make you better... whereas..the mugal times...why were they adamant to cutting the hair of singhs??? they wanted to attack sikhi at it's roots..they wanted to take the person's identity away..they wanted to show that sikhs are NOT courageous, not brave, not worthy of keeping the kesh and turban.. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!!! let;'s make this situation more complicated...just to get you guys to think outside of the box for a brief moment so...it's 1984...a week before the attack on harmandir sahib...you are an amritdhari singh/singhni... you are usually very strong, great at gatka, naam abhiyaasi, doing tonnes of seva...you would be a great asset for the singhs defending darbar sahib... yet...you fall ill...a simple invasive procedure would cure you...yet without it..you'd die....having the surgery would allow you to be well enough to fight for your quom...to defend SIKHI...defend the symbols of sikhi...defend the identity of sikhs..to defend the sacred akal takt, to defend justice, truth, honour... not having the surgery, you'd die in two days (that's before the attack occurs..just incase y'all didn't get the math there ...having done nothing for your quom...having not defended sikhi, having not stood up for your principles against those who wish to eradicate those principles...cuz remembe the doctor is trying to do none of those things..so saying no to the doctor isn't proving anything.. what would ya do??
  20. the last person who posted is correct... having experience in a first aid setting...if someone is unconscious, we are supposed to tak it as implied consent...unless the person has some document on their body saying that they refuse treatment by defib.....
